They choose to be Korean.

 

Although these male celebrities are Korean by blood, they were once a foreigner and got a legal living permit outside the country. However, they decided to give up their foreign nationalities and decided to be Korean completely. In order to obtain the nationality, they have also completed mandatory military service, just like other Korean men who are mentally and physically healthy.

 

As a result, they have been respected by most Korean for their nationalism.

Blast From The Past: 10 K-Dramas Turning The Big 10 In 2021

 

 

It’s that time again where we turn back the clock by 10 years and revisit some of the more memorable dramas from a decade ago. Many of the dramas from that time drew huge followings and greatly bolstered the popularity of many actors, who would continuously churn out great entertainment in the years to come.

 

For obvious reasons, we can’t list out all the dramas that premiered in 2011, so here is just a small sampling of 10 that are memorable for one reason or another. And if we left out a major 2011-drama of yours, do head down to the comments section below to give your own shout out. Without further ado, let’s head down memory lane and say “Happy Birthday” to these 10-year-old dramas (in no particular order):

 

 

Dream High

 

“Dream High” is definitely a major blast from the past, especially seeing how the then very green cast members have all gone on to accomplish so much in their respective careers. Suzy, Kim Soo Hyun, Ham Eun Jung, IU, and 2PM’s Ok Taecyeon and Wooyoung play six aspiring art school students who hope to achieve their dreams of debuting in the K-pop scene. This feel-good drama is filled with youthful vibrancy and uplifting messages, and will hit you with a strong dose of nostalgia.

tvN has revealed their broadcast plans for dramas in 2021, which includes a lineup of diverse genres and star-studded casts.

 

Scheduled for February and March are “L.U.C.A.: The Beginning,” “Mouse” and “Vincenzo.”

 

 

“Vincenzo” is one of the most anticipated projects of the first half of 2021, scheduled to premiere on February 20. Song Joong Ki stars as an Italian lawyer and Mafia consigliere who returns to South Korea due to conflicts within his organization. He teams up with Jeon Yeo Bin, 2PM’s Taecyeon, and Yoo Jae Myung to go against a cast of villains that includes Jo Han Chul, Kim Yeo Jin, and Kwak Dong Yeon. It is being directed by Kim Hee Won (“The Crowned Clown,” “Money Flower“) and written by Park Jae Bum (“The Fiery Priest,” “Good Manager,” “Good Doctor,” “God’s Quiz“).

*** tvN’s upcoming drama “Vincenzo” has shared new behind-the-scenes footage from its poster shoot! In this video, the drama’s leading actors take turns personally introducing their characters to the camera.

Taecyeon wears a fond smile as he talks about his character Jang Joon Woo, a rookie lawyer at Hong Cha Young’s law firm. “Joon Woo is a somewhat bumbling character who works hard, with the determination of a newcomer,” says Taecyeon. “He’s interested in Hong Cha Young, who is his mentor and a senior lawyer at his firm. If it’s for Cha Young, he’s ready to become a spy or even James Bond.”

 

The clip goes on to ask the actors how they felt about the poster shoot, Taecyeon remarks, “I tried hard to do a good job portraying Joon Woo’s childlike innocence and cheerful energy.”

Park Jae Bum placed his utmost confidence in the cast, who carried out his vision with no faults. He shared, "I  decided on Taecyeon with ease. Working with Junho on ‘Good Manager’ brought good results, and Taecyeon has become something like a totem to me as was Junho.”
