*** I don't think any of these news about "Knock Off" is a surprise but, it's certainly a welcomed confirmation. It was never expected to air this year but, could squeeze in a very late 2024 year-end airing date. The confirmation also put to rest the female lead question and it's for sure, Jo Boa and Kwon Nara will be a supporting female lead. Now, that doesn't mean any of the actresses is the romantic interest for the male lead, just that Jo Boa is likely getting the most substantive role and screentime is all. It's a very male centric drama and I'm so seated for this. I have gut feeling of a mega-drama. And this drama has zero-romance for sure. I'm just excited to see Soo Hyun to act again. They could not compete against Netflix on volume, so, they have to go for "quality". And Disney+ is going for "star power". You had me at Kim Soo Hyun! He definitely has a busy year..... likely more to come.   :ilike:

[NEWS] The Korean vegan makeup brand Dinto is ramping up its efforts to enter the Japanese market by promoting its global brand ambassador Kim Soohyun. They plan to introduce a new makeup style in Japan and expand their reach to consumers, leveraging Kim Soohyun’s global fame from K-dramas.

On the 27th, Japan’s top variety store chain, LOFT, announced that Dinto’s Blur-Jelly Plumping Lip Tint would be available in stores nationwide starting on the 30th. LOFT operates 161 stores across Japan and is a popular shopping destination, especially among young consumers, due to its wide range of K-beauty brands.

The Blur-Jelly Plumping Lip Tint is inspired by the character ‘Le Chat Botté’ (Puss in Boots) by Charles Perrault, aiming to create soft and plump lips that are as irresistible as a cat’s paw.

Dinto is offering a special promotion at five locations (Shibuya, Umeda, Yokohama, Chiba, and Sendai): customers who buy two or more products will receive a Kim Soohyun photo card. This strategy is aimed at increasing brand awareness and market share in Japan, leveraging Kim Soohyun’s popularity, especially since he has a strong fanbase in Japan from hit K-dramas like My Love from the Star and It’s Okay to Not Be Okay.

With Kim Soohyun’s popularity as a foundation, Dinto plans to solidify its position in Japan and eventually expand into global markets. A Dinto representative stated that their long-term goal is to expand into the US, which has the world’s largest beauty market, and Europe, known for being a leader in the beauty industry.

Dinto has quickly become a popular makeup brand in both Korea and Japan, thanks to its unique concept based on classic literature and its vintage-inspired colors and designs. They have also strengthened their competitiveness by obtaining PETA certification, which is awarded to cosmetic brands that use eco-friendly ingredients instead of animal-based ones.

@Magician  I have no idea what happened but, there's a change to one of the female actress leads in "Knock-Off". I have no clue as to who this girl is - Kim Shi Eun has dropped out and rookie actress Bang Hyo Rin has been cast in her role. The drama has already started filming so, it's a very interesting situation, and most recently happened in a much more high profile way when also rookie actress Park Hae Hyun already started filming only to be replaced by Jung So Min. It was reported that the production was not pleased with her performance in the early shoots. I feel so sorry for her. If this is the case, the production made the right call. These things happen so, hopefully, this is just a minor case in the production of Knock Off. I'm so excited for this drama because of Kim Soo Hyun. This drama is getting so much coverage. Love it!   :heart2:

Top 10 Most Loved K-drama Couple

*** According to a recent survey by Gallup Korea, these are the Most Loved K-drama Couple. This online poll, conducted by Star News to celebrate its 20th anniversary, ran from August 19 to August 23 and included responses from 1,052 people aged 19 to 69 across the country.

3. Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won from Queen of Tears

One of the most popular K-dramas on the platform in 2024 is Queen of Tears, starring Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won.

The series centers on a couple whose marriage is on the brink of collapse. As they face various challenges, they work to repair their relationship and ultimately find reconciliation. Hae In, the CEO of Queens Department Store, and her husband, Baek Hyun Woo, the legal director of Queens Group, struggle with their troubled marriage. Hyun Woo feels overshadowed by his powerful chaebol in-laws and experiences a distant relationship with his seemingly detached wife.

When Hyun Woo learns that Hae In has only three months to live, he initially feels a sense of relief at the thought of avoiding divorce proceedings. He hopes to convince her to change her will and stays by her side, gradually finding comfort and re-evaluating his feelings. As he counts down the days, he starts rediscovering the love he once had for Hae In.

Queen of Tears offers a fresh yet classic take on K-dramas. What begins as Hyun Woo's attempt to escape his marriage evolves into a poignant journey of rediscovering love. It’s a blend of predictability and raw emotion, making it both relatable and deeply human.
