OP shared photo with Kim Soohyun at Queen Of Tears second wrap-up party.

He wrote, “The wrap-up party was at 6, but I went there at 4:30. What? But what’s this all about? I guess sasaeng fans are really scary. The dinner was at 6, why did you guys come from 2:30?

We also had a prize event. Strangely, I never have luck with prizes. Someone from another team, number 287, won an iPad. But our team’s Kyeong-eun won a Nintendo! However, he took his prize, took photos, got autographs, and went home early… I plan not to bring him to wrap-up parties anymore.

After watching episode 15 together, we came out at 10, and there were three police cars, eight bodyguards~ and the crowd tripled. Wow! What’s all the fuss about~ When all the staff waved and did the ‘V’ sign, they even flashed their cameras from over there. I can see why celebrities get panic attacks.

No, no sequel please. The ending is perfect. Season 2 or sequel usually not good

@Magician  same here - I'm not really into sequels, part2's or the Making of any dramas because for me, nothing could surpass the original. But, whenever my biases will do sequels, I will always support.

They were Oh Jung Se, Song Joong Ki, Seo Ye Hwa, Kim Young Min, Lee Ji Hye, and The trio, Hong Jin Kyung, Jo Se Ho, and Nam Chang Hie. For me, my favorite of course was Song Joong Ki's cameo. Coming in at second place is the girl group ILLIT. Kim Soo Hyun lands at third.   :heart3:

@Unicaunnisansu  yes, I laughed hard to those lines during that scene with his sharp lines as Hong Hae-in’s lawyer. With Song Joong-ki’s appearance, Park Ji-eun’s script was perfectly conveyed to viewers. As a result, episode 8 of “Queen of Tears” soared to the highest peak of 16.1%.   :heart3:

*** Recently released Netflix figures show that "Queen of Tears" had 85.6 million hours viewed in its eighth week of availabilty on the streaming platform. This now brings the drama up to 373.2 million hours viewed overall. As the figures only cover April 22nd to April 28th, "Queen of Tears" is likely to broach the 400 million hours viewed mark next week, as the drama only actually ended on the final day of that survey, April 28th. The broad international appeal of the drama has seen it written in international publications and widely, highly rated on TV databases from IMDb in the United States to Filmarks in Japan to Douban in China- despite "Queen of Tears" not even having any legal distributor in the Chinese market. The sheer popularity of the drama has been such that Netflix Korea's exclusive April offerings have been quite forgotten in comparison. "Queen of Tears" has overshadowed them.   :heart2:

[Music in drama] Rekindle a love that slipped through your fingers

20240501050484_0.jpg

In retrospect, even the most steadfast commitments and promises of everlasting love can fade into the past.

"Queen of Tears," a love story about an estranged couple who once deeply cared for each other, set a new record as the most-watched tvN drama series of all time, with the show's final episode recording a local viewership rating of 24.9 percent.

Baek Hyun-woo (Kim Soo-hyun), who grew up in an ordinary household in the countryside, fell in love with Hong Hae-in (Kim Ji-won), the daughter of the owner of top conglomerate Queens Group. Amid Hae-in's battle with untreatable brain tumors and a conspiracy targeting Queens Group, they rekindle their love for one another.

Although the series contained several K-drama cliches, including a love story involving a conglomerate and terminal illness, it managed to maintain a sense of novelty with well-timed twists and humor.

And, while the latter part of the series may have faced some criticism due to unrealistic plot developments, its soundtrack and high-caliber acting performances still enchanted viewers, transporting them into the story.

Crush's "Love You With All My Heart" delicately encapsulates the emotional journey of the two protagonists as they navigate misunderstandings and feelings of resentment, ultimately rediscovering their love for each other.

The warm, lyrical melody suits Crush's gentle vocals, and the lyrics imply that the two protagonists had always longed for each other, despite having drifted apart:

"Still want you all the time/ I am still waiting for you/ Filling a room in the corner of my heart with longing."

Upon hearing the news of her illness, Hae-in goes to the place she and Hyun-woo visited during their honeymoon.

Hyun-woo appears before her, and the two embrace, sincerely expressing their feelings for each other. Tears stream down their faces with the fear of losing each other, accompanied by the lyrics: "Feelings that I have forgotten and my belated sincerity/ I'm sorry for being so late.”

20240501050485_0.jpg
"Queen of Tears," starring Kim Ji-won (left) and Kim Soo-hyun (tvN)

The song "Fallin’," performed by Hong Isaac, winner of the third season of JTBC's “Sing Again,” is poignant, contributing to the story with its dramatic melody. Hong's solemn voice, combined with the strings and escalating chorus, creates the perfect ambiance.

"Fallin’" was used in a key scene in episode 14, where Hyun-woo smashes the window of a burning car with his bare hands, mistakenly thinking Hae-in had been in an accident. As Hyun-woo sheds tears and tells Hae-in that he was so afraid thinking he had lost her, Hae-in embraces him and promises to survive for him. Here, the lyrics of the soundtrack resonate strongly with the audience:

"Without you, I am nothing/ I won't save any days left without expressing my heart/ I will give them all to you."

Kim Soo-hyun immerses viewers in the story through his outstanding performance in the lead role, as well as his voice.

"Way Home" brings the series to a beautiful end, complementing the story of the two protagonists whose love survives through all odds. Featuring the acoustic guitar and the actor’s gentle voice, it is the first song on such a soundtrack performed by Kim Soo-hyun since 2013 hit series "My Love From the Star."

As Hyun-woo and Hae-in smile and hold hands in a vast lavender field, the song's lyrics flawlessly express, "The only miracle in my life was the time we shared."

‘Queen of Tears’ dominates the K-drama scene for nearly two months

RF6572RKESWAXHQ5FDC7FOPNTU.jpg

The popularity of tvN’s drama series ‘Queen of Tears’ has been ongoing for nearly two months.

According to Good Data Corporation, an online competitiveness analysis agency, Queen of Tears has topped their TV-OTT drama topicality survey for the 4th week of April for the 8th consecutive week.

Since its first airing, the drama series has consistently broken its own record for seven weeks, making it the 5th show ever to achieve a ‘perfect record’.

A perfect record means that the show’s buzz score has increased from the start to the end of its airing, a feat previously accomplished by ‘SKY Castle’, ‘My Liberation Notes’, ‘Red Balloon’, and ‘Twinkling Watermelon’.

Additionally, Queen of Tears has recently achieved the top spot in the all-time topicality video category of dramas. It has surpassed the record set by ‘Penthouse 2′ in 2021, which was previously broken by ‘Marry My Husband’.

The achievement is the result of the series producing numerous content-filled clips on YouTube, with contributions from not only the lead actors but also various supporting characters.

Won Soon-woo, the D of the Good Data, said, “This achievement indicates the success of Queen of Tears in creating engaging content for its viewers.”

According to the topicality survey conducted by the Good Data corporation since 2015, the drama ‘Queen of Tears’ is ranked 5th in its category. The top four dramas are ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’, ‘Penthouse 2′, ‘Guardian: The Lonely and Great God’, and ‘Descendants of the Sun’.

Similarly, in the buzz survey for actors that began in the same year, Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won both secured 4th and 6th positions respectively. The top three spots were held by stars from “Reply 1988″: Park Bo-gum, Hyeri, and Ryu Jun-yeol.

In its third week of broadcasting, tvN’s ‘Lovely Runner’ has reached record highs, placing 2nd. The show has been setting new records for two consecutive weeks and is already approaching the buzz score achieved by ‘Queen of Tears’ in its 6th week of airing.

‘Chief Detective 1958′ from MBC follows in 3rd place, with ‘The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection’ in 4th, ‘Goodbye Earth’ from Netflix in 5th, ‘Parasyte: The Gray’ from Netflix in 6th, ‘Beauty and Romantic’ from KBS2 in 7th, ‘Blood Free’ from Disney+ in 8th, ‘Nothing Uncovered’ from KBS2 in 9th, and ‘The Third Marriage’ from MBC in 10th.

The survey conducted by the Good Data Corporation’s FUNdex platform for the 4th week of April covers TV dramas and OTT original dramas scheduled to be broadcast from Apr. 22 to Apr. 28, 2024, including the actors who are part of these programs. The survey aimed to determine the most competitive programs of the week.

To analyze the program-related information, news articles, VON (Voice of Netizen), video clips, and SNS were taken into consideration, along with netizen reactions. Data that was irrelevant to the programs and suspected of artificially inflating buzz scores were filtered out, ensuring a more accurate analysis of competitiveness. The accuracy level of this analysis is over 97%.
