willenette
7 K-Dramas That Are Perfect To Binge-Watch During The Holidays It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas… and if the holidays translate as being curled up with a hot cup of tea and snuggled in your fuzzy blanket while watching your favorite drama, then you are on the right track. The warm embrace of nostalgia, toe curling romances, laugh aloud to fantastical romcoms — the K-drama universe is a gift that keeps on giving. From taking a walk down memory lane, reminiscing the lingering and bittersweet emotions of first love, to the unforgettable bonds of friendship and some heady office romances with plenty of misadventures thrown in, here are seven binge-worthy K-dramas which are sure to bring in the holiday cheer. “My Love From the Star” A drama that tops the list of favorites amongst many K-drama fans and also scorched popularity ratings was this 2013 Kim Soo Hyun and Jun Ji Hyun drama, which continues to have high recall value. What happens when a movie star is swept off her feet literally by a man who has descended from the stars himself? “My Love From the Star” dishes out a dreamy romance that makes you weak in the knees. Do Min Joon (Kim Soo Hyun) is a 400-year-old transient resident on earth and an alien who looks human and a very gorgeous one too. He keeps to himself, enjoys his solitude, and is awaiting his return to his planet. Cheon Song Yi (Jun Ji Hyun) is a superstar, funny, and though given to an occasional tantrum, she is at heart a lost little girl. Song Yi not only finds herself going back to college, but she lands up in a class taught by Min Joon, who is a professor. They also end up being neighbors, and as they find themselves drawn to each other, unfolding around them are a love triangle, power play, and intrigue. Whether it’s Min Joon and his annoyance with the modern world and keeping humans at bay, or Song Yi, who finds solace in eating her emotions, ordering boxes of fried chicken and cartons of beer, the two give a topnotch performance. With their sizzling chemistry, Kim Soo Hyun and Jun Ji Hyun give some unforgettable screen moments. willenette
Korean Dramas for Beginners: A Guide to Getting Started If you’re new to the world of Korean dramas, it can be overwhelming to know where to start. With so many series and genres to choose from, it can be difficult to know which dramas are the best for beginners. Here are a few recommendations for Korean dramas that are perfect for those just starting out: 1. “My Love from the Star” – This romantic comedy follows the story of an alien who has been living on Earth for 400 years and the top actress he falls in love with. It’s a great introduction to the world of K-dramas, with a mix of romance, comedy, and science fiction. source : https://annyeongoppa.com/2023/01/01/korean-dramas-for-beginners-a-guide-to-getting-started/
willenette
16 K-Drama Jobs & Beings We Need Again On Screen If you are an avid K-Drama watcher with over 100 dramas under your belt, you most likely search for dramas with fresh topics to add to your watchlist. While searching for them, you might have a close look at the lead characters. Because if one of the lead characters has a job never seen before then that is one of the best methods to avoid a "deja-vu" feeling. Even if the occupation of the lead character(s) might not be all in bringing a wind of freshness to the storyline, it can help a lot. Commonly seen jobs are students, office workers (sales), CEO, doctors, police officers/detective, teachers, lawyers, idols, etc. We love them for sure. However, there were dramas that touched on occupations we'd barely seen before and we want to see more of them! Look at 16 jobs and beings we would like to see a K-Drama's lead character take/be once more. These might bring the wind of change we are looking for. Note: This article does not take Korean movies, dramas of less than 6 episodes, web dramas, and dramas released before 2008 into account. This article includes light spoilers. 13. Alien SBS Aliens can be scary beings... but at the same time handsome and smart. Yes, we are talking about Do MinJoon (Kim SooHyun) in "My Love from the Star". We are sure some of you would love to see an impossible yet sweet love story between an alien and a human once again. The dramas "Circle" and "Glitch" also touch on this topic. Dramas on space researchers (not astronauts, those working in the lab to discover the mystery of space) could be the perfect background to have a destiny meeting between a scientist and an alien.
