9日下午在首尔论贤洞举行了池珍熙新剧《不能结婚的男人》记者发布会，笑谈了在新剧饰演“光棍一族”的感受，他称：“还是结婚比光棍好。”

During the news conference for KBS' upcoming drama, "He who can't marry", held at the Imperial Palace hotel in Seoul on 9 June, JJH talked about his life as a singleton. His verdict? "It's better to be married than to remain single".

在某酒店举行的这次记者会，几位主角池珍熙、严正花、金素恩等都穿着隆重登场，池珍熙被问到个人对于结婚好还是光棍好的问题时，他说：“我觉得无论是结婚的人还是不结婚的人都希望自己有自由的时间和空间，结婚有好处，也有不好的地方，但总体来说还是结婚比光棍好吧。”

Gracing the media event were the drama's other main leads such as Uhm Jung Hwa and Kim So Eun. JJH elaborated on his views on his singlehood. "I feel that regardless of whether you are married or not, you hope to have your own freedom and space. There are advantages and disadvantages of married life. But, in general, it's better to be married than single.

剧中池珍熙饰演已40岁的光棍一族，是一位建筑设计师，现实里已拥有甜蜜婚姻的池珍熙如何去 演绎单身老男人，他对于记者这样的提问回答到：“剧中的人物是个什么都不怕，觉得单身也足够快乐的人，只要他想就会去做，不想就不做那种，拍摄这样的角色 觉得很有趣，也不会特别难演绎。”

In the drama, JJH had been cast as a 40-year-old singleton and a professional architect. When asked on how a happily married JJH in real life approached the character of an almost middle-aged single male, JJH quipped: "The character in the drama is not afraid of anything. He enjoys his solitude and will do whatever he feels like doing. If he doesn't want to do anything, he will not act on it. It's fun portraying such a character and it's not particularly difficult."

而女主角严正花已很久没有出现在电视剧中， 这次她挑战的大龄“剩女”女医生一角。特别有趣的事她的亲生弟弟严泰雄新剧《善德女王》正在同时段另外一个电视台播出，两姐弟变成了抢收视对象，严正花笑 说：“我还特意问了妈妈，她觉得弟弟的史剧多人看点，还是我的现代剧会受欢迎点，妈妈说其实现代剧更受欢迎哈哈。”她补充说：“其实我和弟弟电话里也说 过，要是自己人哪个收视高还是总比其他人的新剧收视高要好。对吧？”

Meanwhile, leading actress Uhm Jung Hwa had not appeared on TV for a while and this time around, her challenge was to reprise the role of a professional doctor left on the shelf with a fast approaching expiry date. Interestingly, Uhm Jung Hwa would be pitted against her own brother, Uhm Tae Woong, in the ratings game, appearing in competing dramas in the same Mon-Tues time belt. Uhm explained the rivalry: "I asked my mother whether more people will tune in to my brother's historical period drama or my modern drama. Mom feels that modern dramas would appeal to a wider audience....hahaha." Uhm added: "Actually, I spoke to my brother on the phone. It's better that one of us in the family enjoys high ratings than someone outside the family. Isn't it?"

这部新剧预计在6月15日播出，改自日本日本同名剧集，2006年曾经风靡一时的这部剧集这次拍摄的韩国版让不少日韩观众都相当期待。

(hmmm...I think he talks about how he became a model for a coffee ad as the original star, Takeshi Kaneshiro, was a no show at the last minute. JJH was then a photographer assistant to. Years later, both actors eventually met up and collaborated on Hong Kong-based director Peter Chan's maiden effort in a musical, "Perhaps Love".)
