Ki-run was Jae-hee's architecture course mate years ago and is now a partner in Jae-hee's practice. With excellent communication skills, Ki-run is also bold and has an uncanny ability to understand the needs of others. Her capabilities are widely acknowledged in the architecture circle, small wonder then, a bigger firm has courted her assidiously but without much success. Many do no understand why Ki-run is contented to remain in a small firm, giving grounds to spurious speculations that both Jae-hee and Ki-run are an item. However, after eight years and with no wedding bells in clear sight, these groundless rumours soon lost steam and died a natural death. Eight years ago, Ki-run was her own boss running a small practice. However impeccable her PR skills, her creative talent was no match and soon reached a career bottleneck. The practice shut down after a few lacklustre and forgettable designs. After careful consideration, Ki-run approached Jae-hee who at that time, had just started his one-man outfit. Business was far from brisk as few clients could tolerate his eccentricity and bad temper. Ki-run suggested to Jae-hee she could join the firm and handle client relations. After rejecting Ki-run's proposal several times, Jae-hee finally relented and the partners soon forged a formidable dream team.

In KBS' new drama, "He who can't marry", which will make its debut on 15 June, Uhm Jung Hwa plays Jang Mun-jung, a doctor specialising in internal medicine. In the drama, Uhm Jung Hwa will be acting opposite Ji Jin-hee who plays an architecture. The drama depicts the romantic entanglement of a group of single professionals in their late thirties. After calling off a wedding years ago, Mun-jung meets commitment-phobic Jae-hee and after a series of clashes, Mun-jung finds herself attracted to Jae-hee.

Off screen, Uhm Jung Hwa has been described as a "Gold Miss". Not surprising then, she can absolutely empathise with her on-screen character. "Mun-jung is someone who can accept reality. In the process of filming, I can identify with her and I'm sure other women viewers can do likewise."

As well, Uhm Jung Hwa bemoans the frustrations of older female singletons. "Recently, I've come to the realisation that while singlehood can be carefree, it gets a little bit lonely."

"He who can't marry" is a remake of Japanese Fuji TV's runaway hit three years ago, "Kekkon Dekinai Otoko".

well at first thats my opinion too, when watching the Japanese version... so I gave it a try to watch and finished... its very entertaining and some lessons and it was good... I enjoyed watching...

Forevergirl, I am with you here. The appeal of the Jdrama lies with the strong cast and the slice of Japanese life it offers......could still remember how the brother-in-law had to beg him for money (he had to surrender the bulk of his pay to his wife who managed household expenses) so as to buy his young mistress from a cabaret club a LV bag. His excuse? He must at least have a mistress in his entire life ! ....hmmm...not sure if this is reflective of Japanese society at large )

赵在熙从来就是在烤肉店里毫无顾忌地独自吃烤肉，周末就租6部DVD影碟独自观看，是一个"自我享受"的男人。张文贞在与曾经爱过的人解除婚约以后，决定不再结婚，做个单身族，但她依然对结婚抱有很多幻想。

15日播出的第一集从赵在熙搬来讲起。隔壁住户郑有珍（音，金素恩饰）以"太吵"为由向新搬来的在熙提出抗议，两人吵着吵着，在熙因腹痛而昏厥。在医院见 到的内科医生张文贞对他进行了简单的应急处置，并说："肛门可能有异常，请接受详细检查。"在熙拒绝了这一要求并逃走，但最终还是再次被拽到医院。被女医 生检查肛门的在熙感到很羞耻，流下了"屈辱"的眼泪。在熙就这样在医院迎来了40岁生日。

i think i really like the casting ..though i wonder if the production is being too careful and working scene by scene

the same as the japanese version ..i hope it will get a life of its own as it progress ~ the first esp was fine with me .love to see alot of familar cast back in action ..i love the gals especially ....i do love ji jin hee as well ~ ah but i did have a wee bit feeling he was being too Abe in his protrayl--; .even the way of talking and speaking ..i do know he has the ability to make this role his own ..

the last 5 min plus preview ..and a little clip which was quite cute at the end ^

Just from the few screen captures I'm not see a lot of deviation from the Japanese original. Can anyone give their opinion of the first episode of the Korean series and that of the Japanese? I could do it but I know I'll be overly bias towards the Japanese original. Hopefully Luv will add this to her her screen capture schedule so I can anticipate watching it like all of you.

Actually, there were very very similar scenes. Some were added but very minor.

Also, I have to comment about Ji Jin Hee's acting. Well, he kinda did a good job with how the character whispers and comments on some points.
