Actress Yoon Seol-hee is the main player in the drug scandal that erupted over the weekend, but as Joo Ji-hoon is the most recognizable name, he’s getting a lot of the attention. There’s also some confusion about the facts, but to reiterate: Joo Ji-hoon was NOT arrested for trafficking the drugs, dealing, or for possession. He was charged with using.

Here’s a rundown of some of the facts and new info:

* Yoon Seol-hee was arrested on April 26 for trafficking ecstasy and ketamine into South Korea from Japan, which she then sold. She allegedly made a total of fourteen trips between August 2007 and December 2008.

* Model Yeh Hak-young was arrested for supplying Yoon Seol-hee with 100 hundred million won with which to buy the drugs. Both Yoon Seol-hee and Yeh Hak-young also took the drugs.

* Joo Ji-hoon was booked without detainment on the 26th (along with two non-celebrities) for drug use on two occasions at drinking parties in March 2008.

* There have been celebrities in the past who have been busted for drug use, but this is the first instance involving the smuggling and sale of them.

* The police are currently working to confirm Yoon Seol-hee's confession that there were 15 others who took the drugs from her, and are looking into her phone records as well.

* According to police, these include at least a couple of easily recognizable names. Some reports say there are seven or eight entertainers in all, other say at least five. One in particular is “a famous singer who appears on television talk shows frequently.” The rest are host bar employees. The unnamed singer has been described as a “kkot-minam,” aka a pretty boy.

* I know the situation isn’t funny, but this tidbit is as hilarious as it is gross: Yoon Seol-hee smuggled the drugs past customs by inserting them into a menstrual pad (ewww!), which she then wore over an extra pair of underwear.

Naturally, people are wondering what made Yoon Seol-hee do such a risky (and stupid) thing.

* Yoon Seol-hee had bit parts in several films, but hadn’t been able to get her break and took other jobs working in bars in Seoul’s upscale Kangnam district.

* She had been increasingly worried over growing debts, according to friends.

* Yoon Seol-hee appeared in small parts in movies like A Good Day To Have An Affair and Sex is Zero 2. She played a room salon girl in both the film version of Tazza (aka The War of Flower) and the television drama On Air.

As for Joo Ji-hoon’s future:

* He has been dropped from the Tokyo Tower remake. No surprise there, particularly because the scandal has been picked up by Japanese media and reported “with particular gravity.”

* The Tokyo Tower production, which stars Kim Ji-soo, is not canceled at the moment. A production representative said, “We’re planning to cast a different actor in Joo Ji-hoon’s place and begin filming at the end of May or early June.”

* Joo Ji-hoon was planning a two Japanese fanmeetings on May 15 and 16 in Osaka and Yokohama, which may be canceled. Both events sold out on the first day, which means that cancellation may result in a lawsuit. Worst. Birthday. Ever.

* Joo Ji-hoon’s two recent movies also have shaky futures in Japan: Antique Bakery is currently screening there, and The Naked Kitchen is scheduled to release at the end of May.

On the 26th, Korean police officials issued a warrant of arrest for actress Yoon Sul Hui (28) and model Yeh Hak Young (26) for smuggling drugs into Korea from Japan. Among the people charged to have received drugs from the two mentioned above, is actor Joo Ji Hoon, best known for his roles in the drama Goong and movie The Naked Kitchen. Joo Ji Hoon was hauled to the police station for questioning. The last update was that Joo Ji Hoon has admitted to the charges against him.

According to the police, Ms. Yoon and others were paid about 100,000,000 won since August 2007 for the smuggling of drugs such as ecstasy and ketamine. It was discovered during the investigation that Ms. Yoon would hide the drugs in her underclothes after obtaining them in Japan. The drugs would then travel through different people and Mr. Yeh, who happened to be the 3rd point of transfer. His drugs were then sold throughout clubs in Kang Nam and to his acquaintances.

Joo Ji Hoon began to associate himself with the two around March 2008 and has been charged by the police, for being involved in the 2nd point of transfer of the drugs. A police representative stated, "This is the first time that celebrities are directly involved in the buying and selling of drugs. We are expanding the scope of our investigations and expect to discover more people selling the drugs beneath the sponsor."

Most recently seen at the Prada Transformer opening ceremony just 2 days ago. Could this be the end of his career?

영화배우 주지훈(27)과 모델 예학영(26) 등이 마약류 투약 혐의로 경찰에 입건됐다.

서울경찰청 마약수사대는 마약을 밀반입해 투약한 혐의로 영화배우 윤설희·예학영에 대해 구속영장을 신청했으며 주지훈과 일반인 2명 등 3명을 불구속입건했다고 26일 밝혔다.

경찰에 따르면 마약을 밀반입한 당사자는 배우 윤설희(28) 씨로 2007년 8월부터 예씨에게서 구입자금을 받아 일본에서 마약류의 일종인 엑스터시 280여정과 케타민 280여 그램 등을 속옷 속에 숨겨 밀반입해 판매하고 투약했다.

윤 씨는 주로 강남 일대 클럽 등지에서 투약했으며 주지훈은 2008년 3월께 이들로부터 마약을 받아 서울 성동구 성수동 예씨의 자택에서 2~3차례 투약한 것으로 경찰 조사결과 드러났다.

경찰 관계자는 "이들 연예인 3명에 대한 소환조사는 모두 완료했으며 경찰은 또다른 투약자나 공급책이 있는지에 대해 수사를 확대할 예정"이라고 밝혔다.

모델 출신 연기자 주지훈은 MBC 드라마 '궁'으로 데뷔, 귀공자 스타일로 팬들에 어필했으며 최근 영화 '앤티크' '키친' 등에 출연하는 등 활발히 활동해왔다.

예학영 또한 모델 출신이며, 윤설희는 영화 '타짜' 등에 출연했다.

Really...Joo Ji Hoon? Wow, I'm rather surprised, since he's a pretty high-profile actor. >.<

he obviously wasnt high during goong cuz he looked perfectly normal then
