Looks like Lee Min Ki is definitely in this movie, today's articles on Haeundae have been mentioning his name and I believe it also mentions the name of his character. Will update when there is translation later.

none of today's articles even mention Lee Jun Ki's name. It does however mention Lee Min Ki's name:

Last week's OSEN article in which MisterX or X talked of at Twitchfilm.net actually mentions that Lee Min Ki will be playing Seol Kyeong-gu's younger brother. The above from Newsen seems to also confirm that, plus mention his character's name.

I think the part of this article from newswire.co.kr does an even better job of discussing the relationship of the character/character role/role's name:

the above from newswire and other articles also mentions the casting of Kim In Kwon (김인권) in the movie. Is Hwang Jung Min still in this drama? I don't think I see his name mentioned?

Maybe because he will enlist soon, so that's why Lee Min-ki will (maybe) replaces him because the movie has a lot of shooting scenes and LJK has not much times...

(Personally I think if it's finally Lee Min-ki, it's not big deal, he's a very good actor).

Anyway, even if I'm so late , but Uhm Jung-hwa now too .

I'm so happy, two of my favorites actress in the same movie .

The main leads for "Haeundae" are actor Sul Kyung Gyu and actress Ha Ji Won. Park Joong Hun, Lee Minki, Kim In Kwon and Uhm Jung Hwa will be appearing as side characters.

Most of the plot happens at the Marine dock where they get involved in different cases. SKG, who comes out as "Choi Man Shik" is a street market boss at the Marine dock and HJW, who comes out as "Kang Yeon Hee" who is a seafood restaurant owner.

Park Joong Hun comes out as a geologist at the Hae Yang laboratory. Uhm Jung Hwa comes out as his ex-wife, who is a career woman. Lee Minki comes out as a rescue worker at Hae Yang, who also comes out as SKG's younger brother.

Kim In Kwon comes out as "Oh Dong Chook", who is Yeon Hee's middle school classmate and gangster.

Character Names:

Choi Man Shik (played by Sul Kyung Gyu)

Oh yeah, thank you very much for the informations, creidesca!!

I'm still not sure what to expect from this movie. It's the first disaster movie in Korean movie history and director Yoon Je-gyun made comedies and dramas in the past. I can't wait for any more infos. But then again, Sol Kyung-gu has the lead role again, so it is a must see and buy for me.

If anyone can bring up some more cast and crew infos, post it please as well as other interesting news!

CJ blows up a storm with "Haeundae"

SEOUL -- CJ Entertainment will bankroll and co-produce "Haeundae," a disaster movie with one of the largest ever budgets for a Korean movie.

The company announced on Wednesday that it will provide the entire financing for the movie and act as co-producer.

Helmed by Yoon Je-kyun ("Sex Is Zero"), pic began lensing on August 18 at a beach in the southern city of Busan, familiar to visitors of the Pusan festival. Story follows events after the tourist resort is struck by a giant tsunami.

Pic is also getting attention for its star casting. Talent line-up is headed by Ha Ji-won ("Duelist"), Sul Kyung-goo ("Public Enemy Returns"), Park Joong-hoon ("Radio Star") and Uhm Jung-hwa ("Seducing Mr. Perfect".)

Polygon Entertainment ("The Perfect Storm" "Tomorrow") is set to work on CGI. After conventional lensing in Busan is wrapped, crew will head to the U.S. in November for special effects photography. Pic will be wrapped in December and released in the summer of 2009.

배우 설경구(사진)가 미국에서 영화 ‘해운대’ 특수촬영을 위한 막바지 작업에 참여한다.

설경구와 김인권, 이민기 등 ‘해운대’(제작 두사부필름) 출연 배우들은 11월 중순께 미국 샌프란시스코로 날아가 대형 수조가 마련된 스튜디오에서 지진해일 피해의 실감나는 장면을 연출한다.

현지에서 약 한 달 동안 진행될 이번 촬영에서 설경구 등 배우들은 해운대에 몰아닥친 지진해일로 인해 힘겨운 사투를 벌이는 장면을 카메라에 담는다.

‘해운대’는 국내에서 처음 시도되는 재난 영화. 현재 부산에서 한창 촬영 중인 이 영화의 한 관계자는 8일 “이미 영화 ‘투모로우’와 ‘퍼펙트 스톰’의 비주얼 슈퍼바이저 등 CG팀과 함께 작업을 하고 있다”고 말했다.

연출자인 윤제균 감독은 “현재 약 60% 가량 촬영이 진행됐다”면서 “12월 중순께 모든 촬영 일정을 마치고 후반작업을 벌일 계획이다”고 말했다.

It briefly says that actor Sul Kyung Kyu and others (Kim In Kwon, Lee Min Ki...etc) will be flying over to San Francisco in November for a scene that needs to be done with special effects/computer graphics. They'll use the aquatic studio in San Francisco to shoot a scene where they have to escape a tidal wave driven by an earthquake. Director Yoon Jae Kyun stated that 60% of the movie is done and they'll be expected to start shooting the second half of the movie by mid-December.
