Joo Ji Hoon Confirmed To Join Jun Ji Hyun In New Drama By “Kingdom” Writer

 

Jun Ji Hyun and Joo Ji Hoon will be meeting as the leads of a new drama!

 

Earlier in the year, it was reported that Joo Ji Hoon received an offer to star in “Mount Jiri” (working title) alongside Jun Ji Hyun. On September 4, it was confirmed that he will be starring in the drama.

 

The mystery drama is about park rangers who work to rescue people at Mount Jiri. Jun Ji Hyun will play Seo Yi Kang, the top ranger who knows everything about navigating Mount Jiri National Park. Joo Ji Hoon’s character Kang Hyun Jo is a military academy graduate with a deep secret who joins as a new ranger and becomes Seo Yi Kang’s partner.

 

“Mount Jiri” is written by Kim Eun Hee, who is known for dramas including “Sign,” “Ghost,” “Three Days,” “Signal,” and the “Kingdom” series, and directed by Lee Eung Bok, who has worked on dramas including the “Dream High” series, “School 2013,” “Descendants of the Sun,” “Goblin,” and “Mr. Sunshine.”

 

The drama has concluded preparations to begin filming in mid-September and is scheduled to premiere in 2021.

According from a report on September 04. Jun Ji Hyun and Ju Ji Hoon will start filming their upcoming drama “Mount Jiri.”

“Mount Jiri” is a mystery drama that tells the story of park rangers who will climb the mount of Jirisan to save people entrapped at the said mountain.

 

Jun Ji Hyun will take the role as Seo Yi Gang. A preeminent park ranger who knows everything around mount Jirisan.

 

Meanwhile Ju Ji Hoon will portray the role as Kang Hyun Jo. A rookie park ranger and a former military captain who keeps a lot of secret from his past.

Moreover, “Mount Jiri” also marks the reunion of Ju Ji Hoon and Jun Ji Hyun with writer Kim Eun Hee who is also the writer behind the zombie-themed series Kingdom.

 

Aside from that Kim Eun Hee also wrote Korea’s popular dramas such as Mr. Sunshine, Goblin and Descendants of the Sun.

 

The two main leads raised expectation from fans as they’re both known for their great acting skills and versatility as an actors.

 

Filming of Mount Jiri will start this mid-September.

“Mount Jiri” is a mystery drama about the people who climb through the mysterious and unexplored regions of Mount Jiri, which is the tallest mountain in mainland South Korea.

 

On September 10, it was confirmed that Oh Jung Se and Sung Dong Il would be joining the cast. Joo Ji Hoon was cast earlier this month as Kang Hyun Jo, a military academy graduate with a deep secret who joins as a new park ranger on Mount Jiri. Jun Ji Hyun has been cast in the role of Seo Yi Kang, a top ranger at Mount Jiri National Park.

 

Oh Jung Se, who recently made waves with his role in “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay,” will be playing the role of Jung Goo Young. Jung Goo Young is an extremely practical ranger who believes that the key to saving others is saving himself first. He leaves his job right on the clock, regularly takes vacation days, and disappears almost before he can be dismissed.

 

Sung Dong Il will be playing the role of Jo Dae Jin, the head of the Haedong Branch Office in Mount Jiri National Park. He is called “Mount Jiri Man” because he has been a ranger for half his life. He is a simple, honest man who is fully committed to his job and takes responsibility for his junior rangers.

 

A source from the drama stated, “There’s no further need to explain. Sung Dong Il and Oh Jung Se are actors you can trust right upon hearing their names. We will do our best to deliver a good production for the viewers.”

The recent trailer for a book titled “Men in Her Harlem” (literal title) released by NAVER Series is heating up online communities.

 

Time to time, NAVER Series cast star actors to play out an iconic scene from a book as a part of their promotions. So far, Lee Jae Hoon, Byun Yohan, Soo Ae, and Kim Yeon Seok have taken part in this project, drawing keen attention.

 

Today, NAVER Series released another video titled “Seo Ye Ji & Ju Ji Hoon ‘Men in Her Harlem,'” and the responses are hot.
