    It's saying that

“The actors have attended the script reading, and we are currently in the middle of tuning up cast appearances. We are considering that it is possible for them to leave [the show] depending on the circumstances, and so we are in final negotiations,”

Now I am all nervous. I hope tuning up means the supporting cast and not the main cast. The fact that they even have to explain this going on gives me a bad feeling, almost as if they were preparing us for a shock

This controversy is blown way out of proportion. Attacking JG and his gf's IG accounts are beyond ridiculous. What the heck, do the fans think they own a celebrity and their personal lives? It's no wonder why many celebrities are so depress on the inside but have to look like they're all smiling and happy on the outsides, it's because of these so-called fans. I hope this passes soon and his CM becomes so huge, they'll regret bashing such a great actor.

I am wondering how many of his so called fans are actually attacking him on IG etc. they could actually be anti-fans taking the opportunity to do maximum harm to him.  Yes, some of his younger, newer fans may be upset and tearful but would they actually be so vindictive? How can there be such a quick turnaround from love to hate? I have been a fan for years and he is an actor who always strives to improve himself, and his character is beyond reproach.  When he is in front of a camera he is an entertainer and gives the audience what they would like to see. His private life should remain private and he doesn't owe us any explanations. I hope Hye Bin will be alright and he can focus on his CM project.

Ok...we get it people.  You want to vent, complain, figure out how YOU are feeling/reacting to this "controversy."  I put it in quotes because to me, it really is not one.

Entitlement....thank you @40somethingahjumma for that term.  It's been a dangerous trend in our culture for the last few decades I believe. Not just with fan appreciation, but in schools, sports, relationships and even out in the public. I do find it amazing that Korean Entertainment "seems" to be beholden to public opinion (KNetz) through the online medium.  It is such a dangerous situation to follow and be complicit to.  It breeds entitlement and overt self importance to me. I understand, we are the consumers and do have some strength in our opinions...but what really is it?

Many of you have expressed your sentiments so eloquently on here.  I am not good with words so thank you for that @willenette @violina and others (for some reason I cannot add some names).  I appreciate the mature, thoughtful reactions.

If I could feasibly do so...I would attend JG's Encore in a heartbeat! I do hope this event will not taint the overall vibe of his show.  When I had heard of Namoo's first "Let us check" response to the dating rumors....it made me wonder if there was a plan in action to release the dating information ....but it was scrapped due to the Dispatch images.  But again...this is all conjecture.

@glassnokamen Keep trying for better tickets!! To me...300 ->430 is a drop in the bucket. Who even knows if those 130 dropped the tickets due to this?  It is minor...and that actually makes me pleased.

@LadyOne and to those who will be attending...please report back about the encore! And please cheer and respond and give JG a ton of support that day!

Where is this article that states JG will make a statement?

    Oh and welcome @jade715

Those cancelled tickets could very well be scalpers who probably don't think there would be a big enough demand after the "scandal" so it is all good for those who couldn't get tickets before. I hope the concert will be a success and for those who are going, have fun and shout louder for all of us who can't be there to support him.

I wish I could be in Seoul earlier and pick up those tickets :bawling:  Enjoy the concert ! I hope to persuade my husband and son to go with me to the Namoo agency to deliver my birthday gift to JG the following week, that may be the closest I can get to him, his agency lol

I know I am going to get some hate for this, but please try to understand my reasoning. The problem with this whole situation is not thet they are dating, it's actually a very good thing, congratulation to them! But going on a "dating" show while you have a girlfriend (a serious one!) and be all lovey-dovey with another woman is so very inconsiderate in my eyes (and I don't mean that it's inconsiderate towards his fans, but his girlfriend!)! A lot of commenters say that they feel cheated and they feel he lied to them, well I can actually understand what they mean. I mean he was going on for years with the "I'm single, alone and lonely, and I desperately need affection and love act", and it turned out he had someone for over a year (Just don't talk about your love life to your fans, don't bring that up!)! I still think he is one of the best actors I've seen, and I am going to watch his dramas because of that, but to be honest I am a bit dissapointed in his character!

The official statement said that they were dating in the latter half of 2016 so it has only been about 9 months. I am also a bit disappointed in him choosing to go on MEC if he already has a girlfriend, however, we don't know how serious it is with JHB or it could be like "you are single and I am single, let's date because we are both lonely". The news could have been better timed for sure because I still want to see the special episode of MEC.  I watch it like a short rom com drama, and treat it as such.

Hi maryofbethany, thanks for sharing this.   Awww.......I surely love to see LJK in a rom-com genre. I wonder why he was never offered to do such..... Most of what he got was hero fantasy projects & most of them were historical. I guess because he was good in action scenes but I hope he won't be typecast on this kind of role. I hope he won't be set as an action star in the eyes of many.  I've been waiting for him to be in a rom-com for the longest time.  I wish he'll be offered one soon. "MG" was a rom-com but he was a support lead in that drama & that was a long time ago. He deserves an A-list actress for a leading lady. I can settle for PMY, though. I think he and Park Min Young would do great in a rom-com together. They both look so damn adorable together.   They have a lovable chemistry in "Candy in my ear 2". So, all along LJK knew that he's talking to PMY... & just pretended that he didn’t know her identity.  He hid it so well! Well, she gave him clues, though. This is an interesting type of show! IDK why normally this show has 2 or 3 episodes but for this couple they have 5 episodes. LJK is so sweet here. This show is touching and romantic.  Aww... so many touching moments! I loved their conversations. I'm glad they finally met. And he looks at her so warmly! Good job tvn!

I'm sure LJK will do great in a romantic comedy drama. I'm really looking forward to that. I'd be happy if he gets a rom-com offer! I'm sure he will deliver excellently as always.

@willenetteI don't think he knew who she was until the last episode. He mentioned that a staff member gave him a hint and I remembered that in an earlier episode when he got caught in photos, after his call with her when she found out who he was, he turned to the camera man and asked for some hints on her identity. That was probably when he found out. I hope to see them together in a rom com, great chemistry between them.

NSM's role in JGunman was a noble lady. She was expected to act formal and refined. She was expected to be mature. She shouldn't be cute in this drama. Even PYK/Hanjo san was also a mature character.

Though IMO, I find NSM performance too bland. JHB did better than her.

Although she is supposed to be refined and mature given her background, her character is actually eccentric and out of the norm and that is what makes her character interesting, but NSM couldn't carrying it and made the character bland and fade beside LJG.  I agree that the character shouldn't act cute in this drama, but NSM tried to play it cute and failed, that is what I was trying to say. I really liked JHB and her chemistry with LJG was much better, I was rooting for that pairing. Too bad because her character was strong and mature with a sad background that would have matched well with LJG's character.

@cedarwood I watched joeson gunman, I will not miss watching any of JG drama but I have no desire to rewatch it again because of the leading lady though. Same with TBDAW

But after watching your MV I think I need to rewatch it and just skip part when there is a leading lady appear :D:lol::D

I also don't like the lead actress and skip her scenes when I rewatch joseon gunman. Her voice and mannerisms are too old for the character even though she tries to act cute, unlike IU who just nails the cuteness in Moon Lovers.

Hi, everyone. I would like to ask questions about Lee Joon Gi fanmeeting "Thank You" in Seoul on April 15th 2017. Is the ticket sold already? If not, where can i buy the tickets (with english language)? We (foreigners) can buy the ticket right? Can someone show me the link of the ticket box website? I really appreciate if you can share it. Because I'm planning to visit South Korea on the day LJG fan meeting. Gomawo, chingudeul.

Lucky you. I arrive in Seoul on the 19th :bawling: I miscalculated the date of him having a birthday fm and thought he would have it the week following his birthday.

Thanks for sharing all the pics :) I like how he is styled better for Kang Ha Neul's movie premiere than Ji Chang Wook's ! Prefer the hair and the make up is better too ^^

He looked more classy than the other actors at the premieres. As far as bangs go, his were okay because it had a feathered look whereas JCW's were the usual heavy cut across ugly bangs used to make actors look younger and boyish. I particularly hate it when they use bangs on older actors if it doesn't suit them.

In the DVD there are deleted scenes (withouth subs of course, sniff...) and one of them is the moment when satto comes out of his place with his magistrate costume on for the first time. It you remember the scene (I bet you all do!) there was that fantastic shot showing whole Lee Joon Gi in the costume - he looked wonderful. The deleted moment is Arang hiding behind a building admiring the view. And believe me - she ADMIRED what she saw. Ahem, basically she did exactly the same thing as we did.

And thank you for explanation what is parkour.

Too bad that scene was cut. I thought it was so cute of her to admire him in his new outfit secretly. I am sure I had the same look when first seeing him in the magistrate costume  I think the show needed a few more cute scenes like that to show their developing closeness.

@missmaudyOh dear - I'm not sure what to think of this news   I used to watch Criminal Minds when it first started but it got too violent for me.  Perhaps the drama will be adapted for Korean audiences to suit their tastes whatever they are - hopefully it will be toned down a bit. But then again I can't expect Joon Gi to act just in roles to suit my tastes lol  I realise some others here are very excited for this - I'll have to reserve my judgement until I see it :)

As long as it is well written then I don't think they need to show too much violence like the North American shows. I only liked the earlier CM seasons then it got boring in the more recent seasons. October is so long a way though :(

I hope he does another drama over the summer as well.

Lol. In times like this, Namoo should just keep quiet and let the rumors cool down by themselves.

No, I think they were right to deny rumours because until JG announces his next project, ML will still remain in the forefront, and it is natural with the chemistry they had in the drama that they would be paired in real life now that she is single. JG has consistently said in interviews that he would not go public about his relationship until he is ready to marry so now is not the time at the height of his career to get involved with any media frenzy about his personal life. The best thing for him is to announce his next project so that his fans have something else to talk about.

And one can buy tickets to the red carpet and after party?   For only 3000+ dollars?  <<<choke>>>?

I read about this adaptation in Dramabeans and it seems that the characters are in high school so I don't think this drama would be something that Joon Gi could do unless they change to university but still I prefer Joon Gi to do something more mature.

Webtoon adaptation Love Alarm to be Netflix’s first original Korean drama

    RingLike1.jpg

We’ve heard some rumblings of Netflix getting into the Korean drama game with Signal writer Kim Eun-hee’s next drama Kingdom, but the first official original Korean drama series from the online streaming platform has been announced as an adaptation of the webtoon Love Alarm. The popular youth romance webtoon is about a fantasy phone app that notifies you if someone within a ten-meter radius likes you. As if high school weren’t awkward enough as it is?

Love Alarm is a current webtoon series by manhwa creator Chun Gye-young, of Pretty Man, The Girl in High Heels, Audition, and Ungplugged Boy, among others. The romance, a love triangle between the heroine and two boys who like her, is complicated by the existence of a phone app that rings an alarm every time a person who likes you is within ten meters. The characters are familiar archetypes: The heroine is a hardworking everygirl, the male lead is a tsundere type who’s cold on the outside and warm on the inside, and his best friend is the sweet, classic second lead who ends up becoming his buddy’s rival in love.

Netflix is planning to adapt the webtoon into a 12-episode Korean drama, and will release all of the episodes at once, as they usually do with other original dramas that they produce. Former CJ producer Lee Jae-moon (who worked on Misaeng and Signal) is producing, and the series is being planned for a 2018 release, to over 190 countries.

I’ll be curious to see who comes aboard to write and direct, and how they’ll cast it, or even just the format, since this drama will be produced and distributed entirely outside the normal broadcasting system. Here’s hoping for some experimentation, and a chance for drama-makers to broaden their horizons.

Not my cup of tea, high school romance stuff. It would be for the younger set. The webtoon looks very boring to me and it will have to rely heavily on good writing and acting.

While trying to find out info about KINGDOM, I ran across this article about a Korean Drama to be produced by NETFLIX in 2018.  LOVE ALARM by Chon Kye Young.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/netflix-korean-drama-love-alarm_us_586ed9c3e4b043ad97e2b7fa

The new show, “Love Alarm,” will be a 12-episode live-action version of South Korean graphic novelist Chon Kye-Young’s Web comic of the same name. Similar to Chon’s existing work, the Netflix series will follow the story of a software developer who creates an app that tells users if someone within 10 meters has a crush on them.

The new show, slated to premiere next year, will be produced by Hidden Square, a newly formed South Korean production team, and producer Jaemoon Lee, who was involved in the making of several award-winning Korean dramas, including the police drama “Signal” and the drama-comedy “Misaeng,” also known as “An Incomplete Life.”

    http://variety.com/2017/digital/asia/netflix-producing-original-drama-korea-1201952899/

    http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/netflix-picks-up-love-alarm-as-first-south-korean-original-960964

Anybody hear of this webtoon?  Would this be something JG could/would do? Seems to be young characters.

This means Kingdom will not be a Netflix show this year then.  Maybe they are going to wait for JG to take it on after Love Alarm. This will give him time to do his modern day project first

    It as indeed lol.

However, I still want him to do Kingdom! it's by the writer of Signal (and Oppa loved Signal) and by an amazing movie director! and it will be on Netflix! It will reach so many more people outside Asia sniff! <3 I hope he can do Kingdom and a modern project. Kingdom, after all, seems to be a shorter drama (around 10 episodes or so).

I would like him in Kingdom also but it has to be well produced and not a low budget "B" grade drama. I checked out two HBO original Chinese martial arts movies just recently available for streaming and they were badly produced (low budget) so if Netflix is gonna produce it, I hope they will do a good job.

Wasn't there an article that mentioned that Milla wants to cameo in one of JG's movies and Paul Anderson wants to work with him again? If they can do a "Snowpiercer" kind of collaboration where JG can speak Korean the whole time (or for most of the film) to properly give his acting justice (one less thing to worry about for JG so he can fully focus on his acting). The director of Snowpiercer was Korean, but if Paul is open to cast JG with a bigger role (and collaborate with a Korean screenwriter), I will actually buy a ticket and watch it in a theater which is only for very rare occaisions and go to the LA premiere if possible to see LJG's beautiful face <3 like HECK YES PLS

He can do justice to any role without having to speak much. His micro expressions and his eyes can convey his thoughts so easily. Ever since Paul Anderson promised to have Milla and JG act together again I have been churning ideas in my brain for different scenarios, maybe I should send them to PA B)

Hello just drop to say i'm not sure about criminal minds. I did not like the leading lady in Wanted, she had a weak performance there. I haven't watched the original CM, so i can't comment about it. But i like korean dramas because they are korean... if i wanted to watch an US show, i'll go watch an US show. Still if the writer is good i think it might work... any news about the writer?

.. i must correct myself. If LJG is in it, it will Work. In fact it will become my most expected drama of the year...

I just hope it will be a rating hit, for his sake

Every time i read a comment about the posibility of some of you going to a LJG FM i sigh... I wish i could join you but I'm so far away i'm sure i could never go to a FM

I am half way round the world and plan to try to make it to his birthday FM this year :) I have booked my ticket to SK for April but waiting on his schedule to fix up my itinerary. Maybe I will get to visit his shoot for CM if it is open to the public.  I really don't know how these fan stuff work in SK but if anyone is planning on going as well please let me know because I would love some company, it would be more fun.

    Please God....NO! NO! NO!

If there is a lesson that any actor in Korea should learn is NEVER EVER DO A REMAKE. MLSHR, The Time We Were Not In Love, Fated to Love You and last year's Entourage all failed miserably and not resonated with Korean audiences.

Please Joon Gi, don't accept this offer.

I am with you on this. I like Criminal Minds but remakes of US shows always fails in Korea. I want him in an original, it can be similar to CM but not a remake please. But having said this, if there is an actor that can pull it off it would be our Joon Gi.  Fated to Love You turned out pretty good with Jang Hyuk in the latter part of the show and I ended up liking it better than the original, same with MLSHR. If you have a strong actor/actress who would take ownership of a role in a remake/adaptation it could be successful. The problem is that when people hear that it is a remake they don't want to tune in especially if the original was a hit and that is where you lose on the ratings game.

If JG accepts this then I am sure there is a role in there that he finds challenging.  At this point I don't mind what he takes on as long as he is happy with it.  I just want to see him on screen soon
