  1. @pixelsticks great recap.  I found the beginning very draggy listening to all her woes.  The story really begins for me when she jumps into the water. When I re-edited my version I started it with her drowning and seeing the eclipse, then HE appears on the horizon and my heart starts skipping. A beautiful introduction for our Wang So.  Although he didn't have much screen time in the first episode, his character was introduced by all the talk and rumours among the princes so you still get to know him. I still wish we had some flashbacks of him with the Kangs, maybe something bad enough that he would kill the horse as a message that he was never going back. I found her shock of being in a different world after she woke up was too dragged out.  I loved their first meeting at the end and Wang So's bad boy attitude .

Hahaha...I knew what you were referring to.

I'm ok with that.  I can't tell you how many times I've watched Ep 1- 3.  I'm bad in that I tend to skip all non Wang So parts and just watch those where a handsome long-haired prince with a mask is present.  :)

@hiluna can't you watch and write your reaction down then...and post when we are all ready with that episode as well?

Or wait...are we talking about trying to all watch AT THE SAME TIME?

LOL that is what I do also, skip through to Wang So.  As a matter of fact I re-edited the first 5 episodes to cut out the bits I would fast forward over but there isn't much to cut out once the characters started dying off so I stopped.  Are you all going to post comments on the MLSHR soompi forum? If so, I will pay a visit there every week to talk about it.

  3. I am sorry to hear about their breakup but I was already expecting it. I think for JG his career will come first and all those hateful comments by his so-called fans really hit him hard. I feel bad for Hye Bin because I think she took the brunt of it. I hope he finds someone that he can share his whole world with and be happy. On another note, I can't get enough of him in CM :bawling: and I have started watching bits and pieces of MLSHR to see more of him.  I miss him in sageuks but another modern piece with him as the main character is also okay but make it soon

All polls. Has JG won Best Actor for Wang So in any of the polls? Soompi, Dramafever.. then I was campaigning for ilovekstar poll which is a website who works similar with Soompi. The ilovekstar is ending on the 31st of July but JG fans are not voting for him to win it considering it would be his first Best Actor award thru poll voting. So reading those criticism about his acting made me think that many fans probably don't believe in his acting ability so maybe... maybe.. that's the reason he has not won any Best Actor award for Wang So even his performance for that role was phenomenal.

I have to disagree with you. He did win best actor award for Wang So in Taiwan. Poll voting is really not for his acting ability, it is always a popular vote and as long as there is a more popular rival in the polls it would be difficult for him to win. I voted on that poll everyday but it was disheartening to see him gain a bit then lose a lot to GY's fans. It really becomes a battle of the fans and nothing to do with his acting ability.  I am sure after the big promotion ads for CM from his fans he knows that he is much appreciated and in our eyes he is the best.

No wonder Lee Joon Gi doesn't win on online polls on Best Acting Award. No wonder he only wins on popularity award. The reason I think many of his don't like him for his acting ability. I just came from the CM thread and I see why.

I saw many JG fans in that thread but they are only praising Son Hyun Joo for the acting but I have not read a single on for JG. The reason I am not so impressed with Son Hyun-joo yet in the acting because he has not shown any good acting yet. It was the kid who did great inside the interrogation room who did great.

I think Joon-gi has to work harder more because even his fans are not impressed with his acting.

I think the expectations of his fans are high after Wang So and this is his first modern drama in 5 years so cut him some slack. I enjoyed his acting and hope he will be even better in future episodes. There has been much praise for SHJ but I find LJG's acting just as good as his.  I think in the first 2 eps SHJ character is emphasized, as the team leader should be and that is why there is so much focus on him. The young unsub in the interrogation room was very good and so was the villain who certainly gave me the creeps when he laughed in the car waving the gun around (what a great sudden change in expression from mild mannered to evil pscho).

  6. I watched CM subbed episode 1 this morning. Loved watching it, LJG was so good. I couldn't help laughing at how his expression changed from smirky to panic in seconds as he had to chase after his car :D.  I must admit that I watch the show because of him, although I am also a fan of the original Criminal Minds. I don't think I can wait for the next episode to be subbed so I might watch the raw version tonight and the subbed version tomorrow.

@zi4r, yeah the lack of originality is obvious. Didn't know the Iris poster though, now it makes it even worse. But right the solo posters are cool on theirselves.
My favorite haircut is the one in the solo poster by the way, but it might be too stylish to keep it like that while filming so they went for the simple hair down one. I don't mind. The simpler, the better. His hair is also growing which make it look even better.
And right, spot on on everything you said about SHJ-LJG. Love it. And right, that's an art on itself to be able to talk like JG and be fun and entertaining like him. A lot of actors are a bit shy on interviews like that (which I understand totally because it is SO awkward ^^).

I love his hairstyle in the poster, so cool. I hope he will have it more often in the show than the typical full forehead bangs. It was so nice to see him laughing and enjoying himself in the Vogue shoot with SHJ. Can't wait until 26th, I hope it will be a hit show :)

As Sebastien de Valmont once said - it's beyond my control.

Maybe it's me being from my country - we don't think a skinny person can be healthy. Slim yes but not skinny. And since I know he likes to eat (no wonder - korean food is delicious!) I can't stop thinking he skips meals.

I don't think we have to worry about him eating. It isn't about how much you eat but what you eat. If you cut out carbs for a long time your body gets used to it and stays thin. My husband lost 50 lbs in a matter of months by cutting carbs out and now he doesn't miss having carbs and he hasn't put any weight back on either and he eats fine.

RE:FinalChapter Blu-ray I ordered just arrived yesterday. So I decided to re-watch all the JG scenes and a few other scenes this morning, before I have to get ready for work.

And erm..... Maybe, everyone who's seen the movie already noticed it, and this is not really a revelation to all of you. But even though I've watched it in the theatres 3 times, I didn't notice something about JG's character!!! Now, I'm so excited, I have to talk about it.

(MAJOR SPOILER inside the tag. Please don't look if you haven't watched it and if you intend to do so.)

      Reveal hidden contents

JG is THE zombie that bit and killed Dr Isaacs at the end!!!

    AUjPRe6.gif

The scene is so dark and so fast that I didn't notice that when I watched it in theatres.

And now that I realize it, what he said during SG press-conference seems a lot more possible! (Even though I hope not. He deserves to act in something wayyyyyy better than Resident Evil franchise.)

Has anyone watched it? Am I getting it wrong?!

Or does everyone already know, and am I being clueless by not realizing it sooner? Hahaha! :grimace:

Sorry @zi4r you are a bit late on this revelation. I haven't seen the movie but someone already posted this scene awhile back

Unfortunately (for some of us haha), Lee Byung Hun has been cast as the male lead in Mr. Sunshine. (Ooookay then. o.O;;; )

Anyways, not to get off-topic, as this is LJG's thread after all - it wasn't meant to be! And we have Criminal Minds to look forward to. :D Now, where are those teasers... (+____+)

Aah well it makes sense. LBH has lived in the States for awhile now and fits the American soldier profile. I wouldn't mind a Goryeo sageuk next for LJG, kind of miss Wang So :(

Maybe his character will be a newbie as a profiler but I doubt he'll be total beginner at police work.

    I'm so excited!!! :)

As for KES dramas and LJG - I'm not a fan of her entire works but she has talent to create great moments. And DOTS were great to watch actually because she finally gavet up creating jerks as heroes. It was so refreshing to watch really nice man as main character and a lady who doesn't lose her character during the drama. :)

I heard Goblin was promising at the beginning but then it became boring. I hope she'll write good story this time. :)

I am glad to hear that he won't be a "copy" of Derek Morgan. I like the idea of his character being new to the series.

@krysyuy I agree with you, I don't think he is on KES's radar because she tends to prefer actors who are really popular in Korea. However having said that, she might be trying to evolve her writing into a more serious and intense piece, in which case our LJG may just fit the bill.

I found Goblin actually boring at the beginning and more interesting in the last 7 episodes when the story started moving forward and secrets revealed.

    Thanks ladies/girls for the translations.

He did mention DOTS & Goblin. Could there be reasons why he mentioned those two dramas? I read over Soompi about Kim Eun Sook new drama Mr Sunshine, a story about a soldier during pre-Japanese occupation.

KES said "I do have someone in mind. Since the character's narrative is strong and has the large breadth of emotions, the role needs to be played by someone who is very good at acting." Sounds like she is aiming for more substance in her next drama.

Great actors with strong narrative skill who can deliver wide breadth of emotions--- I wonder if she was describing LJG.

Back before DOTS was cast, I had hoped LJG would be the lead in it but I guess from what he said at the interview with Vogue he wasn't offered the part in either DOTS or Goblin. I still can't believe that he wasn't even nominated for a Baeksang award for his portrayal of Wang So. Those awards in Korea are really for popularity and probably industry politics. Anyway, Mr. Sunshine sounds like it would be up his alley, even the title suits him :)

Thanks for sharing the pics of the latest pictorials. I love them ~

By the way, I recently took a long haul flight and guess what movie I saw there was on the little TVs on the plane ? Never Said Goodbye ! :)

Same here on my way back from Hong Kong to Canada.  Second time watching it and I still cried. I had to keep it down to sniffles in a full plane

He only did describe himself indirectly. Check on when they were talking about Kim Go Eun. Hehehe Definitely he is the most handsome version of an oriental looking man. Let me add, very charismatic.

I remembered one time talking with a Korean lady who owns a Korean Food shop near my office. I told her that I love kdrama. Then She told me if I know the actors she thought are handsome. I said yes I know them as I have watched some of their dramas. I also told her most k-actors are handsome in their own right but amongst them I love LJG because he is a good actor, in fact one of the best k-ent ever have. You know what was her response? She told me LJG looks very Korean that is why he looks very good in Saguek. I told her she is right. LJG looks very Korean & another reason why I love him and his eyes is the most beautiful amongst k-actors.

I am in Korea right now, just left Seoul for Busan. The lady in charge of the placed I stayed at didn't think LJG was good looking at all but she said my son was very handsome so I think in Korea his looks does not have the same impact as it does for his international fans. I think it is his expressive face and eyes that makes him beautiful.

Through today's few visuals, I feel that he is the same person that we all  know, yet somewhat different. He is playful yet withdrawn. Smiling yet not quite reaching the eyes. It could be over reacting on my part. I haven't know him as long as long time fans.  He seems restraint. I hope he be back to his normal self soon, but thats very difficult. Whoever went through what he had, most likely will also be caution and weary of the environment.

Lets wait for the fan accounts of soompiers at frontline to set out minds at ease. :D waiting waiting..

I agree with you. He seems a bit stressed and worried about fans' reactions at this FM. I hope all the support he got from the audience will reassure him that his fan base is still solid and we still love him  Looks like he had his hair cut short for CM. I like it.

@pixelsticks I'm talking about weibo, are u also referring to weibo? the pic ur referring to is this one right?

@glassnokamen here it is. i made sure to get a screenshot hehe. He looks so skinny now, never seen him this skinny. Just bones btw this was today.

I don't usually comment on actors/actresses weight, but JG is definitely too thin and looking unhealthy.  If he is not careful his "too thin" face will age his looks very quick. :bawling:

From DC-korea, that apology letter was requested from TVN-CM, because joon once have broke the contract rule in MEC, one of the contract point in his MEC show was his status must single

Unless the contract specifically says that he cannot be dating, his status remains single until he is married, this is the legal definition of "single" so no rules broken. Oops, I am late with this response, just read earlier thread about contracts lol
