I think I am getting bored of those plots because there are more and more of plot basing by reincarnation, I mean it became repetitive so you get used to those plot...

Fair observation. There are many series based on reincarnation. But this is because many of the ancient series are based on Chinese mythology and reincarnation plays a huge part.
ELOD is based on The Pillow Book novel. The novel is classified as romance genre. Tang Qi, the author herself stated she want this novel to focus on the romance compared to TMOPB. I think she achieved that. In ELOD, the main focus is on the development of the main leads and their relationship. So there are less action and more scenes between the main leads.
I personally enjoy ELOD alot more than TMOPB. I love DH and FJ as a couple. But that is my personal preference, since I dislike politics and scheming.
I also have no issue with the general reincarnation plot. I focus on the character development and chemistry between the main leads.

@Megan they both made a mistake , unwise decisions due to certain circumstances.
They are together at the end... happily ever after.. Their love stronger than ever.
They completed each other..
They truly do. They are imperfect, in their perfect ways.
FJ can be percieved as fun loving, impulsive, strong headed and uncontrollable to some people. FJ is also empathetic, loyal, loving and forgiving. FJ tries hard to understand from other people's point of view.
At a glance, FJ and DH appear to be a bad fit, but FJ characteristics is exactly what DH need.
FJ with her easy going and playful nature brings joy into DH's life.
DH need fun in his life and he pranks people to get that. This is because 99% of the deities are respectful of him and will only be on their best behaviour around him.
Sigh...I have so much to write about, but no time to do it.
Anyhow FJ and DH is the only couple I do not question. They love each other equally and they balance each others needs.

The beautiful thing about Tang Qi’s writing is that she can be pretty insightful. She is able to understand that love may not necessarily come in the same standard package.
She lets us see love from various perspectives and she allows her characters to learn and grow over the course of the story from start to finish.
Believe it or not but her side characters also learn and grow together with the main characters as well. This is especially clear in her latest story Lotus Step. But it can also be seen in the Pillow Book.
I agree with you. Tang Qi is a master of character development.
I can only judge from reading The Pillow Book, and she did a fantastic job. Her characters are very consistent in terms of their choices, thoughts and behaviour. Even though I may not agree with the choices that some characters made, at least it is logical from the character's perspective.

DH is a logical person. He analysis situations quickly. However, like most people in love, their emotions can cloud their judgement. DH altering FJ's memory was not his brightest moment, but finding out what FJ has done for him in the past, DH pretty much made up his mind to put 110% into solidifying their relationship. This was because he was confident that FJ still love him.
DH understand FJ personality and the way she thinks. FJ may say one thing, but she easily becomes soft hearted, especially when it comes to DH. For example:
During BQ and YH's wedding, FJ was determined not to be entangled with DH. Yet, when FJ turned from a handkerchief into her human form, she happily laid next to DH and stared at him.
Another example, when DH was supposedly hurt, FJ instantly dropped her hostility to apply first aid. Even as Xize, FJ cared for DH.
The way FJ behaves is driven by her love for DH. Even when she said she didn’t want to see DH, it was because she was hurt and thought DH was in love with JH.
DH knows and understand this point well.
Yes, DH never asked if FJ wanted to be in a relationship with him, but not all relationship starts that way. Some couples naturally get along, spend more time together and before they know it, they become a couple.
I think it is important to view DH and FJ's relationship from their perspective and what they value. I can see that clear communication and being fair are important values to you, but that may not be the same priorties for DH and FJ. For FJ, her family, fun, loyalty, freedom and honesty are important to her. Even though DH never asked her formally to be in a relationship, she didn't care. This was because formalities and words of acknowledgement isn't the most important thing for her. Knowing how DH registered their marriage was probably more reassuring for FJ.
It is also important to remember, DH have always been respectful of FJ's needs and wants. DH gave FJ alot of freedom to do what she liked and provided what she wanted. When DH saw FJ hugging SY, he didn't break them apart. He walked away because he knew he may hurt SY and respected FJ's decision. So I disagree with you to say DH didn't "allow" FJ to chose.

The beginning was boring for me. It took me 2-3 days to watch the first 12 when I can usually binge watch that within a day. But the rest after that was binge watching. Took another 2 days to finish the whole series. Of course, I skipped most of JH's part because she just annoyed me.
I enjoyed the mortal realm when I rewatched the drama. The first time round I was too impatient and wanted to see DH fall in love with FJ. When I rewatched the drama, I realised how important the arc was. SRX was so sweet to FJ. If only there was a mortal Xiao Jiu, SRX would live a happy life and potentially be a good king.
I totally skipped JH's part, well apart from when she got busted and SRX threw a cup because of what she said. That was strangely satisfying. Maybe because I felt like DH at last expressed his true feelings, even though SRX is not DH.

FJ doesn't really flaunt her actual rank and status. Even XY didn't until much later. I guess it's because these two are notorious in 8 deserts and 6 directions as Lord of mischief and Princess of naughtiness.
If he reincarnates in Qing Qiu, at least he will have realistic expectations for females!
FJ and XY knows when to flaunt their titles! Certainly their legend seems to be wide spread. FJ may add to XY's rumors and describe how incredibly beautiful he is.
I can't help but remember how XY have bad dress sense in the novel. Such a waste of a pretty face!

It's wonderful that the three became good friends during FJ and XY sojourn in Fanyin Valley. I bet it's also the first time in their lives these two actually did their schoolwork.
Knocking the second prince unconscious could be a big deal, or it could be a small one. If he never woke up again, it'd be a big deal. If he woke up in time, and there was someone to clear things up, it'd be a small one.
Luckily, Young Master Meng woke up in time and promptly soothed his mother's fury. Previously she had ordered for the two of them to be executed. Halfway to the death dungeon, the sentence changed into the water prison, but the water prison's gates hadn't lifted when another decree came out which said they weren't to be imprisoned at all. They were immediately brought back to the Grand Hall, now with respect and courtesy. (PB1, p172)Poor Mengshao. He must have thought he had rotten luck. Little did he know, the person he longed for literally dropped onto him.
I hope Meng Shao gets to reincarnate and get his own happy ending in his next life.

Then, "4 lives, 4 worlds" videos on them were released, and I saw how distant V + R were..."real couple" wish of mine was shot down. BUT, yt's suggested list had guangre related videos. I watched, and my wish came flying back alive. I began to do research on their story and found this forum when it was page 7. I decided to hop on board my first ship after years of watching Chinese and Korean dramas. I have to say that this was the first time that I felt so self-conflicted with a pasttime (watching dramas), hahaha! Reading stories shared by @Babyval , GR CP analysis by @水蜜桃, and someone else here who shared that they got news grszd from a friend who is working for one of China's news media (Sorry! I forgot your name, please forgive me), in my delulu world, they are together dating in secret. In my realistic world, I really really want to believe those shared stories are true and because the GR CP analysis is soo darn convincing! I will be waiting here patiently for that one beautiful day, we get news of gx!

I am like you! I strongly believe they are together and have been for many years. Vengo and Reba have no such thing as personal space between them. I feel like alot of their physical touch in ELOD are unconscious and they naturally stare at each other with affection.
Vengo is like DH to FJ, his eyes just follows wherever Reba is. He is constantly making sure Reba is okay. The BTS below is what initially got me thinking there is something going on between Vengo and Reba.
I loved how they get along. It is obvious they enjoy each others company. It's amusing to watch Vengo piggyback Reba, and no crew members seem to find it out of the ordinary. It's as though they see it everyday.
It cracked me up when people made comments about how Vengo and Reba are like siblings and get along so well. I have a brother and he would never piggyback me in a million years, nor would he hold me by my waist, fix my hair or stand in my personal space!

Good point! FJ is lucky that someone is usually right behind her to provide support at crucial time. FJ is so loved, that she never seldom fear for negative consequences.
Now that she is married to DH, I wonder how much more mischief she will get herself into!

Seriously though, the book isn't finished. So it may take years before the book is filmed.
Vengo seems like a loyal person. I imagine IF Lotus Step is produced into a drama and the production wants him back, Vengo will most likely do it if he have time. I doubt DH and FJ would be in many chapters of the book, so filming shouldn't take too much time. Now it would be weird if Reba is cast back as FJ and Vengo is replaced by someone else or vice versa. That just wouldn't work. They would have to replace DH and FJ as a pair.

That time I was so frustrated with all the hate comments.. as a reader of the books I'm still trying to reasoning with some of them ..until I'm given up and stop visited .. only go there's just to gives ( to bragged actually ...lol ) an info about how ELOD successfulness and become popular drama in China as no 1 highest viewers although had a strong competition with other drama that's aired at the same time.
PS: I wanted to give ELOD 100/10 but only can give 10/10 . As for main couple chemistry... totally agree..out of the universe..off the charts.
I take comfort in knowing ELOD have 8 billon views and this shows how popular it is, even though it had near 0 promotion and is only available via online platform.

I think the problem is you are very literal in your interpretation.
Alot of the important messages in the Pillow Book are not said out loud or explicitly stated.
FJ from the beginning to the end of the book wanted DH's love. FJ never pushed DH to give her love, but she had strong desire for it. If she didn't, she wouldn't have stayed with DH as a pet fox.
So technically, FH did want something from DH and that was his love. She never stopped wanting that. We as viewers or readers know, because each time DH were in trouble, FJ literally dropped everything to protect him.
When Zhonglin asked FJ what more does she want from DH, it was more a figurative speech. Because Zhonglin clearly knew DH had done everything in his power to show FJ how much he loves her, yet, FJ couldn't see it. So in his frustration, Zhonglin asked what more does FJ want from DH.
The Pillow Book is based on a fantasy world, but I found DH and FJ's relationship very realistic.
DH and FJ have their flaws. It is what makes them unique and interesting. I think there is alot to learn from their mistakes, the importance of communication, honesty and forgiveness.
On the other hand, their story also demonstrated how beautiful love be once you find the right person.
