I doubt if anyone can find a North Korean man in NK like Ri(Lee) Jeong Ryeok. I thought it would have been perfect if he would have rather lost weight and just retained lean muscle for this role.
But JH belongs to the priviledged North Koreans as his dad holds a high ranking post! He could even afford piano lessons and study in Switzerland!
His village house where SR took refuge is VERY WELL STOCKED with food unlike the normal villagers. Until today Chil Su kept harping on how SR depleted those food! LOL!

The term, "ducklings" has been used quite some time back. I dont know who started it but I came upon it from Rooftop Prince (2012) when I was on Dramabeans and Soompi forum then.
It refers to the close sidekicks of the male lead.

What an EXCUSE by SR to a bewildered JH!
I LOVE this scene and couldn't help giggling at HYUN BIN's multiple expressive facial reactions especially when pouting again when accused of being jealous!
I LOVE that HYUN BIN is one of a few actors who still maintain a "fleshly" face (my no 1 bias Ha Suk Jin who acts as his brother is another 1) unlike many others who got their faces slimmed down a lot!

What a bitter sweet episode!
1.We had a sweet couple ring exchange moment.
2.The funny shopping scene of Manbok and the 4 ducklings and their beauty treatment. I'm sure JH was jealous.
3.JM's cute fanboying moment with his idol, CJW. His reaction was totally believable and relatable!
(Reminds me of my own moments with a few actors in Seoul myself.)
4. My favourite scene is the KICK BUTT scene by our 4 ducklings and Manbok! They look ULTRA COOL fighting dressed in suits and ties!
But PLEASE, PDnim please dont have Manbok or any of our ducklings killed off! Jeabal! As I've mentioned much earlier in this thread that I've a gut feeling that 1 of them may be sacrificed to make the drama more realistic.
OF COURSE, our SR wont die! It's just a CLIFFHANGER! Seeing JH's heartwrenching sob and later the ducklings' wretched reaction was enough to get me choked with tears!
Nb:Aigoo! Was MIA due to LNY celebration although I do keep up with this "bullet train" speed thread.

Our SR is super SMART. When she found out that SJ was lying about her family knowing that she was safe in NK, she could sense that something is amiss.
So she hasn't told ANYONE about her whereabout at all. At dinner time, she only revealed she was in hospital (her dad should by now know the truth but kept it a secret) and pretended she was amnesiac. Very clever indeed!
So eventually SR with the help of JH would be able to connect SJ & her 2nd brother's connection with the corrupted N Korean officials!
I'm hoping SJ redeems himself by giving our OTP more info on JCK!

So SR sent wuri JH for a MAKEOVER!
That Swept Up hairstyle makes JH look more SMEXY than ever! From the looks of him carrying her shopping stuffs, he's indeed her bodyguard in Seoul.
Which reminds me of those tall and fit looking North Korean bodyguards of NKorean president KJU. During the hype days of the peace negotiation among the US, SK & NK a number of foreign Press (including my own local press) even mentioned about those tall and fit looking bodyguards of KJU and even highlighted some good looking ones.
So our JH makes a PERFECT N Korean bodyguard for our CEO SR 24/7.
I do notice during my idol/actor stalking in Korea, that their bodyguards are indeed tall and fit!

So I was RIGHT afterall! SD's money faced mum is already IMPRESSED with SJ at 1st sight!
With her obsession with English, she'd SWOON over SJ's British accent! Even thinking about SD's breakup with JH.
I love Kim Jung Hyun as an actor and his acting here as 2nd lead is comical yet perfect as SJ!
Not to forget I get to swoon a bit more over my no 1 bias Ha Suk Jin in his military attire unlike those few seconds in other episodes!

So JCK's escape was WELL PLANNED indeed! So he got help from a number of corrupted officials.
But I'm worried for JH's dad because if JCK were to see JH, MB(rat) & the Ducklings in Seoul, he might report about him to his higher authority.

As I've mentioned in my much earlier posts, JCK has a network of connection among powerful officers. Now it seems SD's is also 1 of them. Which is why he could escape so easily!

Yay! So happy to see our Ducklings alive and well in Seoul! I was so worried that 1 of them may be sacrificed while helping SR escape from NK.
So they, MB and JH will be in Seoul for some time! Can't wait to see their antics trying to get accquainted to living to Seoul. It would be fun indeed!
BEST of all our OTP isnt seperated at all!

I was LOLing when soomeone posted that JCK defected to S Korea to get SR. It is just ridiculous!
It is definitely IMPOSSIBLE for a N Korean military personnel like JCK to cross over or defect to S Korea.
Soompi has just posted a spoiler revealing that JCK is being imprisoned and JH is the witness for his trial.
I hope the "6 month condolence period" between our OTP is a FORSHADOW that they may meet after 6 months of seperation.

@Dramanoona yes, I agree with you that if the writer has already finished the script, they could have filmed the ending in Switzerland too.
It makes sense for everyone since it is more convenient instead of shuttling from Korea to Switzerland and vice versa.
Filming is not always done in SEQUENCE so it is very difficult to guess the timeline especially for CLOY!
@thanie the DMZ is NOT at JEJU which is an island and it's temperature is very mild compared to NK.
The DMZ is next to PAJU which has similiar temperature as NK. In fact you have to pass PAJU before you get into the DMZ.
NB: Been to a conducted tour to the DMZ recently after many trips to Korea. No free and easy travelling by singles into it allowed. Very insightful indeed but need to follow strict instructions by the guide. Highly recommended!

@hibiscus23 thank you so much for sharing my no 1 bias, HSJ's photos!
As I've mentioned much earlier ( about 50 pages ago) I began watching CLOY after reading that he'll act as Hyun Bin's (my 1st drama of him) brother and immediately got swept up by its unique plot! Of course not forgetting getting smittened by HB's gorgeous looks and brilliant acting!
HSJ as MH is perfect as both he and Hyun Bin as JH share the same gorgeous looking genes!
Hope to see more of HSJ's scenes too as he's definitely not acting as a cameo role. I am surprised he took this role as he hates filming in winter. Probably it is because it is only a small role .

Much as we, especially the fangirling ones, cry out for more lovey dovey scenes of our OTP, I strongly feel that our writer is doing a BRILLIANT job in incoperating insightful and meaningful scenes of the formidable Kaesong Ahjuma squad and JH's adorable ducklings. They are integral parts of this gem of a drama !
They are definitely needed to facilitate SR 's development from a "picky princess" into a totally different person. I dont have to write a thesis on it as I dont have the time and many posters here have already commented about it.
I'm praying hard that in the end, none of the ducklings is sacrificed in order to save our OTP!

It's so heartwrenching to see a sobbing JH confessing to his dad that he'll be living a life in hell if anything were to happen to SR.
I'm sure his dad (I'm sure he still cant get over MH's death and he cant afford to lose his last remaining son) will be in a dilemna as to what he'll do next. He has to act very cautiously as JCK has the audacity to get a search warrant for SR at his house. His position is at stake and his family members' life will be in japody.
Omo! The suspense is really heating up. Good thing we have the Kaesong ahjuma squad and JH's adorable ducklings to even out the agony.

I've a feeling that our hero, JH saved SR yet again in ep 9 after confronting SD about the abduction and had her hidden safely somewhere.
The political POWER STRUGGLE is being portrayed realistically in ep 8. So I was right when I suspected JCK has support from someone of equal authority as JH's dad. Otherwise he wont dare to pursue JH so relentlessly.

I may be wrong but from the preview, my take is that it is SD who is behind SR's abduction otherwise she wont be so positive that SR is dead. A few commenters from another website also suggested so.
As previews are not always shown in sequence, I think JH must have confronted her about SR's abduction. She then went on a drinking spree and SJ piggybacked her home much to money faced mummy's surprise!
Cant wait to see moneyfaced mum's reaction when she finds out who SJ is!

Omo! My heart broke while watching JH sobbing wretchedly at his dead brother, MH's altar! At last we get a glimpse of how close he and MH were from a short scene regarding the expensive watch which will help expose JCK's evil deeds. So glad to see a few seconds of my bias, HA SUK JIN as MH again in this episode!
@africandramalover yes! Kaesong where the ahjuma squad lives is indeed a parody of SKY CASTLE! Kudos to the writer!
Most of my thoughts about ep7 & 8 are already mentioned here by many of our expressive comrades here!
But I need to ADD that HYUN BIN as a man can REALLY CRY indeed!
However he still looks gorgeous while crying!

The actor is doing such a good job at it and I hope and pray that he successfully cons both SD and her money faced mum. As I've mentioned in my much earlier post, money faced mum will turn her attention to him when she finds out he's rich and is a "British diplomat". As she's also obsessed with speaking English, he'd be a perfect fit as her son-in-law.
Which will then leave our OTP alone!

Am I the only one who thinks that JCK has the support of someone who's of the same or even higher ranking than JH's dad seeing that he's still trying relentlessly to stop JH from investigating his crimes? This he's doing despite the fact that he now knows who JH's dad is!
JCK will use SR as the bargaining chip to get JH to back off from investigating his brother's death temporarily. But with more evidences against him (MH's watch at the pawnshop & the help of the rat etc) JH will still persevere! My heart aches everytime I see HSJ's funeral photo although he still looks dashing.
OMO! CLOY has thriller elements too besides the swooning over Capt Ri, cuteness overload among our OTP and the ducklings and the camaraderie among SR and the NKorean ahjumas.
Which is why it is such a CRACKTASTIC DRAMA for me!

Another observation: Notice the Plant has a Red Bow around it? As in the invisible red string or cord of fate Asians believe ties all destined lovers together. They will absolutely meet no matter the time or place or circumstances and though the cord may get tangled or stretched it can’t be broken.

Any idea why a tomato plant was chosen instead of other plants?
When I saw the plant, I remember the potato plant in Cha Seung Won & Gong Hyo Jin's hit drama, "Greatest Love"!

I've a feeling that CCG isn't dead (I thought I heard his voice in the preview) as there are 3 more episodes left and the ducklings and MB have decided to stay back to protect JH.
I'm praying that NONE of our ducklings or MB gets killed in the FINAL showdown with CCG! Many a time someone has to be sacrificed to make the drama more poignant despite a happy ending for the OTP!
@Admiral dont forget, JH lived quite a number of years in Switzerland which is known for its dairy products!
