Oh gosh! Has it been a year since this posting? Ahahaha. Happy anniversary! Kekek. And i just realised tmr will be the anniversary for him gazing at his moon.
Yes!!!
Well, for once I can consider myself lucky to live in the "wrong time zone" (which I blame for not being able to stream kdramas, or watch Vlives, etc, since they always happen during my working hours ) because for 6 hours I get to enjoy 2 anniversaries at the same time...
As I am writing, it's currently 11 pm of May 24th in my place, so I am still entitled to celebrate the "STARING AT HER STAR" 1st anniversary, but since it's officially the 25th in Korea, I can also celebrate the "GAZING AT HIS MOON" 1st anniversary
LOL, with NamJi, even the smallest things make me happy!
So, here it goes from me:
HAPPY NAMJI GAZING ANNIVERSARY TO US!
Hope you don't mind me reposting:
Seriously, I guess you all know me by now and are aware that I usually don't like to read too much into IG posts, and I stay away from speculations on the deeper meaning and/or timing of NamJi's posts or more in general of their IG activities (or those of their friends, etc) , but even for me it is really, really difficult not to consider these 2 posts as a pair.
Wookie's choice of pic and caption are "at least suspicious" (which is obviously a rational shipper's way of saying "speak for themselves, and speak volumes at that" ) .
But also Hyunie's post is suspicious, and even more so in light of Wookie's post update just one day later. It's true that she phrases her caption more as a promotion of the drama since it was broadcast night, but for one thing it is different from her other posts to promote SP because this is not BTS (like the majority of her posts for SP) but an actual scene of the drama and while in the pic you only see her "stargazing" everyone knows who BH is actually staring at in that scene. And also the stars she added... yes, it is not unusual for her to edit pics (though she mostly uses the snow app to add effects to her other posts), and I would not have given it much thought had not been for Wookie's moon
So, this is one of the NamJi "coincidences" that even I am more than willing to consider "not just a coincidence"
And, just to be clear, I've had this thought for the longest time, so this at least is not an effect of the d-cut messing with my head

Annyeong chingus!
How is everyone doing here?
Sorry I ended up being MIA for much longer than I expected, but just to be clear: it's not because my NamJi obsession has finally subsided... far from it! It's mostly due to RL being super busy, and the little spare time I can find being dedicated to playing with the treasure chest a.k.a. Dcut and blissfully floating in NamJi heaven.
Yesterday I managed to backread some 20 pages here, and enjoyed it a lot. Thanks to everyone, old and recent members, for sharing your thoughts and your comments, and keeping this place alive and fun! My only regret is that, as I was fearing, I missed out a lot of interesting convos. I can't (and I think it would make little sense anyway) reply now to some old posts, but let me quote at least this, even if it is from 10 days ago...
On 11/5/2018 at 5:41 PM, Changsky said:Thank youuu... I remember reading it. I love this part. It shows his admiration and adoration
Q10: How was acting with NJH who played the role of BongHee?
A: Her acting style is different from mine, so watching her I learned a lot. Despite having different acting styles, I think we showed a lot of chemistry . And since we had many chances to practice our lines together before shooting the scenes, our chemistry improved even more.
Q11: You said that you learned a lot watching NJH, but what kind of things concretely?
A: She is really meticulous. She analyzes the script minutely, as if she is studying it. Even if she is younger than me, I learned from her in this respect. Because she interpreted things differently, her style was different, etc. I think what I gained enriched my way of thinking.
(with credit to @luvforever for posting the links to the Japanese article)
Since in the end I never posted my general thoughts about the interview, I'd like to take the opportunity here, for at least a partial comment. Thanks first of all for reposting the part where Wookie spoke about Hyunie. I fully agree with you that his words here show his adoration and admiration for her. Not the first time he does it, is it?
I like that these are clearly not random, standard compliments he pays just because an actor is supposed to say good things about his latest co-star, especially in an interview meant to promote the drama they did together.
I like that, once again, he does not miss the chance to underline their chemistry. I don't think it's just promotion. He felt it just like we did. Well, probably even more than we did It might be my biased opinion, but I hope I am not twisting his words too much if I say that this is the closest he can get - while keeping it safe - to say "we clicked from the start, and as we spent time together this connection became even stronger " and we all know that being on the same wavelength is what he looks for in a girl.
Additionally, I like that he compliments her so much professionally. She might have been in the industry longer than he has, but to say that you have learned a lot from someone who is 8 years younger and that she has enriched your way of thinking is a BIG thing. Besides, it's something new compared to other compliments we had already heard him paying to her, so there is really no end to his praises for this girl. And incidentally let's not forget that said girl had mentioned in one of her interviews (referring to the second dirty but pretty hug scene) that being complimented for her hard work would make indeed her heart flutter.
On the other hand, in this interview he does just that - he keeps it super professional. He is full of compliments for her and their teamwork in these 2 answers when he is asked directly, but then he carefully avoids mentioning her elsewhere. Some might remember that there was also an answer (about the scenes that had most adlibs) where he mentioned the scenes with "Choi TaeJoon and BongHee" - so he mentioned CTJ with his real name, but used the character's name for NJH . That was weird , but also quite telling if you ask me. Add to that that there was at least one more answer that seemed off and puzzled me a bit because I was not sure if he was avoiding the question, or I was missing something, or what... My conclusion is that he was being quite cautious and guarded here in regard to Hyunie. It might seem strange considering that - even if we don't know the exact date - this interview took place most probably on the same day of that other Japanese interview we saw a few clips of (shared by some IG accounts) where he gushed more freely about NJH, and more or less at the same time of his MBC interview, when he even singled out her name for army visit...
So, why the difference? We can only speculate, of course, but I personally have a feeling that knowing that this interview would come out much, much later played a big part. It makes sense that he wanted to play it very safe and keep Hyunie as much as possible out of it since he had no way to predict what would happen in over 6 months, and by the time the interview would be released he would be in the army with little or no chance to intervene if necessary. This was my thought when I first read and translated the interview a couple of months ago, and after seeing more of protective Wookie in the Dcut I am even more convinced of that.
Time to go to bed now. I just wanted to add...
@babyval22 @achinawa @daloula and all the others, the mess and the craziness sure are real My only consolation is that from what I hear we seem to be more or less in the same situation after the Dcut And when you see such comments from all the most rational members of this thread, you know you are doomed...no way out of here for the foreseeable future! Luckily for me/us, its a very nice and warm (well, tbh, very hot at times ) place to be
Wish you all a great week ahead!

I think I need a separate post for this. Not just because I had already reached the image limit in my previous one, but also because this DOES deserve a post by itself. Of course my first post was to celebreate the first airing of Suspicious Partner properly.
But today it's also the 1st annyversary of the drama press conference, and since the presscon gave us so many NamJi goodies in 1 hour or so, I believe it's a pity to just consider it a subordinate event. Don't you agree? Even if I think most of us did not realize immediately how precious it was, we know now how many NamJi gems it had in store for us.
Just to mention a few, JCW shouting "Yeppuda" to baby girl in front of everyone. JCW saying that he had waited 8 years to meet NJH, blushing at the memory of how sexy Hyunie was during the couch scene... And of course, all those swoonworthy stares and eye-talks wonderfully captured in this video:
So.... HAPPY 1ST PRESS CONFERENCE ANNIVERSARY TOO !!!
Oh, by the way, it's partly a selfish request because I would like to have more time to celebrate with everyone here, but... I wanted to suggest if we can officially extend the 1st Suspicious Partner anniversary celebration on this thread from May 10th till May 13th, that will be Sunday and is also D-365 to Wookie's discharge (9 months passed... one more year to go!). So, we can celebrate both events during these 4 days, and if we include the weekend it might be easier for all the shipmates who are very busy with work or studying to come here, share comments and trips down the memory lane, or simply .... party!!!!! Is that ok with everyone?

Oh... can I borrow this, @masthu ??? Pleeeesse?
It's soo jjang! I love it! Thanks for taking the time to prepare such a beautiful banner for our celebration! It must have been difficult and time consuming, but the final result is just as beautiful as our OTP
Ok, then. I am super busy with RL, to the point that I've forced myself to stay away from this thread lately because I know that the moment I start reading everyone's posts I'll want to quote, reply, comment, etc. and right now I know I can't. If only I could quit my job and become a full time NamJi shipper...
But of course there was no way I could miss today's celebration Even if this is going to be one of my lamest post (or maybe not, just because I've managed to glam it up with the sumptuous banner above ) , I have to be here with you all, my wonderful NamJi family, today.
When I decided to watch the SBS drama titled Suspicious Partner, I thought I was in for a 10 weeks' journey. Maybe (hopefully) a little more, because when I really love a drama it takes me a couple of weeks to let go while going through various withdrawal symptoms, and of course I was hoping to love this drama as well. But I could have never imagined I was signing up for THIS. A year with a wonderful OTP that can be cute, playful, sweet, affectionate, romantic, hot, etc. at the same time, a couple that give us all kind of feelings and is our happy pill. And a year with my shipmates on this thread, who make shipping even more fun and enjoyable, of course. My sincere thank you to NamJi (even if sometimes I hate them because they have taken over my life ) and to all of you, chingus for 1 year filled with of so many beautiful moments and heartwarming emotions
And what is even more awesome is that - one year later - the love and addiction have not faded. If anything, they have gotten much worse with the Dcut!
So, since it seems I am not going to move on and leave anytime soon... it's really time to celebrate!
Please grab your drink of choice and let's party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am offering you more banana milkshake - or as an alternative strawberry milkshake since our boy loves strawberry flavour (who knows if Hyunie was using a strawberry flavoured lipstick for their kiss scenes? Oh, but I think he would have devoured her lips anyway, right? ) - or freshly ground coffee... We don't need alchool, because NamJi are enough to make us feel high, I think?

Hallo Shippers!
I hope everyone is doing great.
Sorry to suddendly drop by when I still have many pages to backread here (RL is pulling hard...), but since I am one of the (self)appointed annyversary-reminders of this thread I cannot not do this...
We are of course waiting for the big SP anniversary coming up in less than a week, but for the time being, exactly one year ago...
Suspicious Partner's VLIVE! on May 4th 2017
Happy 1 year anniversary!!!
highlights of the event: the talk was mostly lead by our smart baby girl, while Wookie was mostly in charge of sending hearts
And let's not forget that on this occasion we heard the first Yeppuda! from Wookie to Hyunie (yeah, technically speaking he was reading a comment from a fan, but why did he choose to read specifically THAT comment?? )
(Some of the above stills from the PD note about the v-live in separate form and better resolution under spoiler)

Happy Friday, you all !

[This reply was a bit long in the making, as usual for me, but I really wanted to comment on this, so here it comes, even if it is late ]
On 30/4/2018 at 2:36 AM, songsongdiehard said:Many of us have not moved on from NamJi, once I thought I'd be able to be back to normal when Wook is in the army. But for some reason, something big or small happened and so we are all back here spazzing. The DVD is gold and it really fed any shipper's heart. When you watch the SP DVD and watch the BTS of Wookie's previous work, it seems like he's a different person. Now we know why SP is number 1 in his choice of drama, it has a special meaning. Those kisses, the hugs and the stares I have seen him give to Hyuni... I have not seen him do that with any co-stars in the past.
Now if I have to compare them with other couples who also have chemistry... most actors pull out or go in their respective corners after kisses, but NamJi stays close together, hold hands or just touches the other. They give each other a hug after long, steamy (very steamy) kisses!! And I was like, really?? I know that real couple do that and while I don't think they are a couple yet... there's something there and they are both aware of it.
I know, I know.
As I have already said... I ADORE the 27 minutes of kiss scenes. Even if we cannot share anything here I am pretty sure that everyone who is reading this thread has seen bits and pieces of those kisses leaked on social media, so we all know what we are talking about, even if that's only the tip of the iceberg.
Those kisses are not just hot, they are fire itself. Saying that they are definitely not your typical kdrama kisses, describing them in terms of T-action or lip-biting or chup-chup sounds, etc. is not enough. They are beautiful in every sense, and give you all kinds of feelings.
But are these kisses (I am obviously talking in particular about 1st kiss, 3rd kiss and court kiss) acting? I think so, at least in part.
The fact that these kisses suit the scenes perfectly and convey the feelings they are supposed to convey in the drama is evidence to that [yes, maybe pdnim had to do some editing here to tone those kisses down and make them suitable for a PG15 show airing on Korean national tv, but that's only because we are used to having mostly meh kisses in kdramas and romcoms in particular, IMO] Saying anything different would be - for me - demeaning of JCW and NJH and their professionalism. They were on that set to do their job, and they did it. In the best possible way. They discussed with pdnim, followed his instructions and thought about how their characters would feel and kiss in those occasions. If they had only wanted to kiss each other' senseless, they would have stayed at home and done it away from prying eyes, enjoying their make out session a lot more. Despite this, however, I think it's clear to anyone who is not in denial (and probably also to those people, if the age restriction put on the YT video is any indication ) that there is something that goes beyond mere acting. It can't be described: you just watch and feel it. It's almost palpable. Just as all the JiBong scenes in the drama are so enjoyable because of our leads' great acting + incredible chemistry, also JiBong's kisses stand out because of their acting + the magic feeling that is between NamJi.
And here we come, where this magic and unique feeling becomes even more evident. I had mentioned in one of my previous posts that there is something I love even more than the 27 minutes, and I am happy to repeat it again after you. The kiss scenes ' BTS. These are what make my shipper heart literally burst with LOVE .
In the "old BTS" for the first kiss I've always found Wookie's hand on Hyunie's head swoonworthy [especially paired with that Hanbam interview where he was glowing while he spoke about the filming of the first kiss ] because it showed how they tried to keep the connection after an intense kiss instead of distancing themselves. We know this is what you often see happening, after a quick hug and/or pat on the back, between co-stars - even those who have a great chemistry - after a kiss scene. So if I my hear fluttered for that tiny bit in the old SP's bts, you can imagine what the Dcut bts for the first and third kiss did to me.
In particular, let me gush a bit about the third kiss and its bts... I was already floored by breathless Wookie (seriously, have fan/viewers ever seen him like that? Certainly not after a kiss scene with one of his previous co-stars, but I guess not even after some intense action scene?... ) and his dazed expression at the "cut!". His red ears and neck. The red knuckles of his right hand as he was problably still trying to control himself and not press too hard, and yet the red mark on Hyunie's cheek. Her looking totally sexy in his arms, definitely kissing him back.
But then, thanks to the bts camera that kept filming after the director said cut, we clearly saw that Wookie, the kissing expert, was really flustered and Hyunie looked also rather high. BUT did they go separate ways to recollect themselves? Nope. They kept hovering around each other, hugging multiple times, holding hands, letting go for a moment and then reaching out again for a touch, even while their styilists were attending to them. And don't get me started with Hyunie's hand on Wookie's chest even if only for a couple of seconds... To reassure him? To calm him down? To feel his hearbeat that probably had not slowed down and returned to normal yet? All of the above? Whatever, it's just
I have never seen something like this before in the bts for other dramas, etc. And not even what I had seen of the Dcut up to that point, despite showcasing pretty clearly the closeness and the very special bond that had been forming between NamJi, had prepared me for that.
The first time I watched this part I just stood there with my mouth open, wondering "What the hell is this? What are you two doing???" But I bet they could not reply to this question, as they probably don't know either what they were doing there. Maybe they could simply not let go of the other, they were not ready for that, they needed to stay close, to keep the connection. Maybe they needed some reassurance after whatever they felt during those kisses, and they could only find it in each other (no words or explanations needed between them), knowing that they could lean on each other also for this... In any case, if we have to judge based the amount of touching that went on I guess it's safe to say that those kisses affected both of them a lot, and shook them badly. Regardless, it was so hearwarming to see. It still is. Now, the initial surprise for me has passed, but I am still in awe, and I every time I replay this part I have the silliest smile on my face and turn into a puddle of NamJi goo.
In fact, I think I could go on, and on, and on talking about this here, but instead I think I will spare you more of my blabbering and go and rewatch one more time
Sorry for the long post, and enjoy what is left of Labour's day, chingus !

On 27/4/2018 at 8:05 AM, piggieb said:Hi Chingus~ i've already appreciated all BTS in Dcut. i fairly content with the huge amount of HONEY to feed my shipper heart. However, i am a little bit disappointed that there are no BTS in below SCENEs
1. Raining Scene (Wookie's smitten eyes and smiley face)
2. EBH love confession scene (i think Hyunnie is so beautiful in this scene)
3. NJW love confession scene (Did Wookie feel nervous during confession?)
4. Eavesdropping scene (Wookie was so comfortable to lean his cheek on Hyunie's fingers.Or else, his whole body and soul just want to lean on her)
5. Launderette scene (Sweet fingers laced)
6. Behind Ambulance where NJW hugs injured EBH scene (Wookie almost kissed Hyunnie's ear and neck)
7. Given drunk EBH a piggyback ride to home scene (lovely Cheek kiss)
8. Wookie Birthday Party
I understand your disappointment, as for myself I would have loved to see BTS for every single moment they spent on set together during the 4 months of filming
But realistically there are a few things to consider:
- I am not an expert about filmaking and such, but I think that filming BTS requires at least 1 cameraman (or other member of the staff) to be assigned to that task, so probably the production can't always spare one man to record BTS, especially since just a few minutes of bts are necessary for promotion, etc. and they don't really have any other purpose in the end;
- I guess that a BTS camera / cameraman can also be a hindrance in some cases, as we have seen how busy sets are and how many people need to come and go all the time to do their job;
- I got the same impression that others have expressed, i.e. that the actors were often quite aware of the BTS camera, and therefore were more guarded (especially as time passed and their growing closeness and chemistry was starting to draw a lot of attention) when it was going around filming. It was already apparent in the old BTS, as a couple of times we saw one of them pointing at the camera, but it became clearer in the dcut. So, I have to think that even if the BTS camera had been on set more, it might not have captured many more sweet NamJi interactions because they would have acted more distant if they were trying not to fuel rumors. Those, would have been somehow "scripted BTS" for real, but in a sense that is completely opposite from what antis and rival ship meant when they came up with this term : you can clearly see in the Dcut that often when they sport the BTS camera they stop acting natural, touchy, etc. and start being careful. Heck, probably a BTS camera invading their privacy all the time could have even prevented them to really get close and touchy and everything...
So, all things considered, I am ok with having less bts (or not having bts for some iconic scenes), because this gave them some privacy and the possibility of being themselves and having their Namji moments even though we did not get to witness them, exactly because they did not have to worry about people watching them all the time.
Just a few random comments about some of the scenes you mentioned:
8. Wookie Birthday Party. That was not even related to the drama, but a "private" moment, so I am ok with not getting "bts". The fact that we got a couple of pics from the PD note and thus we knew they did celebrate is enough for me
7. Drunk piggyback ride. I would have really loved to see that too! Such a cute and lovely scene in the drama.... But I guess that by the last episode they were really pressed for time. They did film some BTS for the scene where BH tries on a few outfits at JW's home and for the proposal scene, but you see they were a bit different from the earlier BTS (a bit rushed, done just because they needed to have some bts footage for the last ep - at least that was my feeling ). Still, the additional bts (and hand holding/playing) we got to see for the proposal scene was quite lovely so I'll just be happy with it.
6. Behind Ambulance where NJW hugs injured EBH scene... yes, it would have been nice to see more of that hug But if anything we got the bts of the hug on the bench at the hospital, after Mr. Bang was injured, (same night) and there were some nice bits too
2. EBH love confession scene. You mean the "don't fall for me" scene, right? That would have been nice too. It was a pivotal scene in the drama, and the fact that Wookie mentioned it a few times as one of his favourite makes me even more curious. Too bad they did not film bts for it. We'll just have to be happy with those fancams that went around in IG taken by a Wookie fan from behind the wall... even if their heads is all we can see.
1. Rain scene. Sigh... I am grateful that at least we had that offscreen pic (PD note again?) where not only Wookie is sweetly staring at Hyunie, but she is looking back at him.
The bottom one here :
And, as others have already said, let's not forget that for this scene we've got something that is worth a thousand BTS (and a thousand selfies). This:
(and Hyunie also uploaded on the same day, even if it was only a pic of herself on the set of that very same scene)
SpoilerI am happy with this
If I have to express a little regret in terms of bts we got (but I know it's only greed on my part ) after watching the D-cut...
I think we are all quite happy (and this is probably an understatement ) about the BTS for the 3rd kiss > bed scene, but at the same time we would have loved to see more, more, more... (I am not the only one, am I ? )
Well, about this part, after watching the D-cut I can't help wishing that they had included also the conversation they had to switch from the kiss on the cheek (the morning after), that seemed to be the first idea for this scene, to the kiss on the shoulder that was aired. I think that one of the reasons could be that the movement required for JW to get to kiss BH's cheek did not look very smooth in the rehearsal. But still I am curious, also because the first version (kiss on the cheek) probably looked more sweet and romantic, while the final version (kiss on the shoulder) definitely gave a more sensual vibe.
In the light of the discussion between NamJi and pdnim about the part when they enter BH's room and land on the bed that - at least from what I got - was absolutely incredible and hilarious (I can only describe it like this: ), I can only wish we could have witnessed the same kind of discussion for the morning after. It probably had even more gems .
But it's ok after all. I am more than happy with what we got.
Still, let me say that we should kidnap the blanket and interrogate it.
If we can't get the blanket to talk, the fan might do in its place. But I would prefer the blanket anyway.

so im watching the special and disk 15 and 16 again before i give you guys my final take on them and also some details.
for those who dont have the DVD to illl let you guys know few things.
things i noticed:
1. Wookie is well aware of the camera that is being filmed for the DCUT. so does hyunnie but more wookie. (this is prob why they are still careful)
2. wookie mimicks (copies) a lot what hyunnie does. its cute. when she is stretching he starts to do the same. so cute!!!
3. they talk mostly about the scene they are about to do and have a very good understanding when they practice the lines and such. but sometimes you can hear them talking about non work related. about shows and other little things.
4. he for sure takes care of her. it seems so natural. sometimes i think hmm maybe im wrong that they have something going on but when you watch certain scenes or what they say makes me think....noooo they must have feelings for each other. he is too extra with this co-star.
5. wookie and hyunni and the director have a very good relationship.
6. the first disk in the special disk is where some of the cast members are watching clips together and talking about it. at one scene the actor (killer actor) makes a comment about dating or wookie and hyunnie?? i have to rewatch this part. thought that was an interesting comment he made. ill let you know about this as soon as i get to that scene. if someone knows what im talking about please let me know.
7. speaking about that actor (killer) when you watch him in the special and also some BTS he seems...hmm...a little rude. not sure how to explain. or maybe this is me.
jump in with any of my comments. im watching it for the second time to make sure im being rational now...lol
Thank you so much for this and the other insights you are sharing with us!
I am curious and eager to hear everyone's comments (as much as the copyright issue allows, of course), but since you also understand the language (and not just the body language - which is what the majority of us need to rely on for the most part ) your comments are especially helpful for me/us.
And I am glad that so far you are confirming the impressions I had
As to DongHa (the killer), I have to confess I really didn't know what to think based on what I saw and the little I understood of the commentary... I kept getting not-so-good vibes, but I wondered if I was only projecting the character he played on him, or I thought that maybe he was really not used to doing the commentary and quite unconfortable. But it seems that many of us are a bit perplexed after all?
Then (it was in another post, but...) thanks a lot for the explanation about Mr. Bang, 'cause I had completely missed that part. So happy they choose not to kill him off, because he was really a great character and loved by all the viewers I think. And I have to say that seeing the actor tearing up while watching some scenes for the commentary, and in particular the scene in the park when JW runs to BH and asks her to like him back immediately, made me love him even more.

Same! If it's of any consolation, you are not alone. Which means that at least you get to spazz with me and the other bunch of incurable NamJi addicts It would be worse if you were so crazy about NamJi and had no one to talk to, right?
I admit that one of the main reasons why I seldom buy drama d-cuts is that by the time the d-cut is in my hands, my interested has mostly faded / I am engrossed with something else. This happened also with the latest d-cut I bought before the SP one: I had been so excited when I had placed the order in 2016, but it arrived last year when my life had already been taken over by NamJi, this thread, the NamJi vids constantly replayed on YT, etc. so i barely spared that DVD a glance. I was expecting the same to happen again this time, but nope. I never left this thread in all these months, my love and
addiction(cough) interest for our otp never faltered or decreased... and now I feel the D-cut has enough NamJi stuff to feed my shipper heart at least till May 2019, and then we'll see what happens when Wookie is done with his MS. The more I watch the Dcut and replay some parts in particular, the more I have to agree with you that this nickname suits them perfectly They really are! But this is one more reason for us to love them, isn't it?
Wookie... maybe we had seen hints before so it's not a complete surprise. But shameless Hyunie is GOLD.

Lovely Hyuniii looking so fresh
OT: Off to opening mah Dcut..which I have gotten only last Thursday after being held for Customs examination (sorry to have let you stayed there for 2 weeks hah ) But when they opened the package in front of me..and saw the dvd cover pic..Hyuni and Wookies smile just lit me up. And told myself..ah this is it really Good luck to me haha
Have fun, dearie! Make sure you have a fan at hand or the air conditioning swiched on when you watch some parts (I think you already know which ones, based on the comments here) and try not to be overwhelmed by the overdose of NamJi sweetness and cuteness for other parts . And when you need to stop and come up for air, please don't forget to get back here and share your comments!
@stucked Yay! Our favorite shark is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome home, it's nice to have you back here
@MoonlightSerenade: welcome back to you as well! We missed you. And especially recently... watching some parts of the D-cut, many times my thoughts went to you and the rest of the byeontae squad Too bad that because of the copyright it's difficult to comment properly and you won't be able to share all your thoughts with us
@luvforever : noticed that bandaid on Hyunie's arm too, but I guess and hope it's only a minor injury!

Hello, ladies. Just wanted to share my thoughts after watching the couple disc. Note that I have not delved into the infamous 27 minutes kiss scene aside from the snippets shared in IG. We all know it's daebak and I don't know the effect it will have upon me so I'm saving myself the trouble first. Let's leave that to tonight so wish my hubby goodluck as he might have himself a byeontae kitten beside him tonight.
The dcut is worth every penny and the drama's gift to its supporters and shippers alike. You get to understand and appreciate what went behind the scenes and the efforts put in by everyone in the show. Each scene was a collaboration of actors and pd nim that's why everything turned out beautifully.
Now onto the topic of our beloved NamJi. I can honestly say that the dcut was a revelation. Take it with a grain of salt as I had been very affected by what I have witnessed. Nam Ji Hyun is a young smart woman who is unassuming and oblivious to her sexyness. She is like a little ball of sunshine with an infectious laugh. Someone innocent but I felt I saw her transform while filming.
Ji Chang Wook is a man in his prime with his success in the k industry as well as in his personal life. He is a man who has fought for his mother and succeeded. It was a perfect balance for the shows lead stars and boy they surprised everyone with their chemistry. Chemistry that you can taste.Case in point, the couch scene where we saw wookie blushing and acting like a giddy teenager with a huge grin on his face during the presscon interview. That same couch scene is GOLD in the dcut. Unfortunately, due to copyrights, let your imaginations run wild. Subtle moves between a man in his prime and an innocent, unassuming, oblivious woman which set my phone on fire!
The dcut showed me wookie's and hyunnie's relationship transformation. I'm not saying they are currently dating but I'm really hoping they take whatever they have to the next level. That's the reason why I'm here for in the first place. I saw them friendly with each other trying to break the ice during the beginning and then got thrown in the water with the kiss scenes and bed scenes once they were comfortable and then got intimate towards the end hence not much words were needed between the two but contented with eye talking and simply hovering beside each other.
It now made sense why they highly think of each other post sp because for me they were each other's comfort. Hyunnie is really a muse supporting wookie and wookie had found a match with Hyunnie. They simply clicked and connected with each other as I've witnessed in the dcut.
Sorry for the long post dearies. My shipper heart is simply overflowing because of NamJi.
Thank you so much for your beautiful post. You have highlighted many things I wanted to say, but since I am struggling to find the time to write proper posts here I am grateful that others get to share their thoughts on the D-cut, and I would like to at least mention that I agree with everyting you have written.
Soompi allows me to give just one heart to your post, but here there are more:

@babyval22 brilliant! Your gifs are so spot on!

That was fiyaaa man!! *faints*
Every control just went out of the window and he couldn't help but blush at the end! I think we do know why he blushed apart from finding her sexy!
Wookie was giving it all away lmaoo
I think we all saw what you also saw dear
That's why we keep replaying that part. 'Cause I am not the only one, right?
Oh, but where is the "innocent icon" in soompi when you need one????
3 hours ago, meny14 said:What Wooki did
See, it's not just about what Wookie did. It's about what Hyunie did and Wookie did and... subtle things (and subtle movements...), but you know...
Ouch, it's so frustrating that we cannot describe this bts in detail because of the copyright, but maybe it's for the best because (I speak for myself, but from what I've read here I guess everyone else who has watched this feels the same?) if we start *really* talking about this part , the risk of getting carried away and not meeting the PG15 requirements of the soompi thread is quite high. Right, chingus?
Not because we are a bunch of pervs (well, a little bit maybe... ) but because we can't unsee what we saw.
And I guess a gif could be made of a particular moment and it probably wouldn't be really suitable for the thread (even if there wasn't the copyright issue). Not to mention that it could contribute to the general global warming because the temperature here might become very hot.
I think that Wookie really summed it up pretty well here:
I know that many of us were hoping that we would get the BTS for the couch scene in the dvd because Wookie's words (completed with his blushing) intrigued us and got us curious, but what we got really exceeded our expectations. At least, it exceeded my expectations.
I would only add/argue that maybe in that scene EBH was trying to seduce NJW, but in fact NJH wasn't trying to seduce JCW of course. But that is what clearly happened, and I feel that her being completely unaware of her sexiness, her being completely natural and spontaneous was what truly blew our poor boy away. He probably didn't see it coming, and he didn't stand a chance.
Seriously, I am not talking now just about the "byeontae moments"... the couch scene bts are awesome in so many ways, and reading everyone's comments I realize that I was not the only one who felt that this moment was really a milestone and a turning point in the interactions between our couple. Hyunie's natural charm was so powerful, and whatever resolution he might have had before (to be playful but keep it professional, to be careful in order to avoid rumors, etc.) crumbled down there and then.
Then, of course, in the other bts you see the further progression of their relationship/closeness, but for me witnessing what happened during the filming of the couch scene would be worth the cost of the DVD alone (but of course the fact that we got so much more spazzing material in the D-cut, not limited to the 27 minutes of kiss scenes , kiss scenes' bts , etc. etc. etc. makes it even better )
Have a nice day, everyone

I guess that shippers are camped in front of their laptops and tvs enjoying the Dcut! Ive been enjoying all your posts andall the bts bombs that were exploding left and right. It was so beautiful to witness how their relationship blossomed over time. SBS bts might have made us think that wook was the touchy touchy one while hyuni didn’t look that touchy touchy in comparison but actually it was the other way round. Wook looked a bit reserved at the very begining and that does NOT mean cold, unfriendly, not smiling, not laughing or anything. It’s just that he was in the getting to know a friend (hyuni) kinda phrase and adapting to the change of scene. I’m not that good with words. May be chingus out here can describe it better than me lol.
At the beginning wookie reminded me a lot of hye kyo. Song hye kyo had always been friendly with her previous costars yet a bit reserved in order to avoid dating rumours. But with joonki she was more open, more touchy touchy and the first to laugh among the two which led to many NGs. Watching Wookie transform and open up to hyuni was like watching hye kyo opening up to Joonki all over again. It was so heart fluttery to watch!
I really loved the couch scene bts from episode 1. Their level of comfort was very high and there was constant laughter in the sets. Wookie was so considerate of hyuni and very caring and never hesitated to help her. Remember wook said that he found hyuni sexy (during the couch scene) at the press con? He even blushed saying it hehe lol ! If anyones wondering why.... The answer lies in the couch bts. His reaction exposed everything! lmaoo No wonder boy was blushing big time. He once mentioned that if he likes a girl he would blush keke.
Since I really can’t describe the scene and I'll leave this pic in here and the rest to your imagination. I guess uri shippers know what I’m talking about
Throw back Sunday! Our swoon worthy couch scene!
I'm actually trying to write a separate post about this, i.e. Hyunie being very comfortable and touchy from the start, etc. . but I have half of it written and saved in my draft, and I can't finish it becase I keep getting distracted since at random times I have this urge and end up rewatching parts of the D-cut ) or I read more posts here that I want to reply to.
So, since you mentioned the couch scene in ep 1... I think that, even if especially Hyunie seemed to be not shy at all about physical contact, that scene was the real ice-breaker between them. Of course because of what the scene required of them, or rather because of the position on the couch that scene required them to be in - so hopefully it's clear for everyone what I mean And if Wookie looked a bit more reserved at first, their skinship and comfortableness escalated quickly from that scene.
Without giving out too many details, let's just say that the couch scene bts is where you actually see Wookie bursting out laughing because Hyunie was too sexy, just as he said himeself, and it would be a very suitable topic for our byeontae squad, But I think that one of the reason why Hyunie could act the way she acted in that scene (and in the bts) and looked so comfortable and natural doing that is that she was totally unaware of how sexy she could be. That's only my opinion and I could be wrong, of course, but I think that was Wookie's undoing, and because of that he couldn't help but give in.
And now that I've said this, let's see if I can go back to my other post... or to some more replaying of the couple discs

What we... well, not really know for sure , but at least speculate about is that - based on how her stylist/assistant wrapped Hyunie up in the blankets when she had to get up from the bed after the filming ended - she wasn't wearing too many clothes under that blanket.
2 hours ago, shady01girl said:you have to understand that for fans that like korean actors and actresses (in korean and maybe other asian culture) go a overboard.
the actors, and singers have to be very careful on what they show and do. its sad but they do.
if not for themselves at least for the other party.
like if they even take a picture with a non-celebrity and rumors happen the other person will get death threat and even stalked. its pretty sad.
and if one famous person is linked to another not so famous celebrity the fans will go crazy.
so i can see why hyunnie has to be careful. she has a lot of fans but she also has a lot of haters. i feel bad for her. so to protect her self i think she is trying not to link anything to wookie. =(
i dont blame her.
That's right. I think we are all more or less aware of this.
The fact is that often (some) shippers go overboard too, also with their assumptions, etc. not even realizing that this could create more problems for their bias. Not just in the case of Hyunie, or Namji, of course - it happens in every ship I think.
We already talked about this a few times here, and I don't want to bring up this topic again, but what I wanted to mention is that since some fan/shippers like to stalk also their bias' activities on the social media and comment about what they find, these celebrities are in a situation where they are damned if they do (e.g. like a certain post, etc.) and damned if they don't. And damned if they do, and then undo.
Of course we are talking about official accounts, so this is to be expected to a certain extent but I really don't envy these celebrities in this respect.
And even if Hyunie's like to Wookie's posts are still there, I agree with you that - now or in the future - we should not judge her for how she manages her likes, and not overthink about it.
On a different topic - of course you don't have to - but if you are really willing to share with us your thoughts after you've finished going through the dvd - it would be great! Most of us can only watch, but since we understand little of what is being said we are missing out a lot of context and our perception is far from accurate. So, any input and insight from a Korean speaker would be hugely appreciated
ETA: @pauliza
I am not one who really gives that much importance to the fact that NamJi look alike, but I have to say that this "collage" you shared earlier is truly impressive... I could have almost missed Wookie's pic and thought it was just another pic of Hyunie from her IG update today !!!

Seems like the consensus of those who’ve seen and had the viewing experience of the Dcut have the court kiss tops among NamJi kisses as the one with the emotional connection and the feels in the romantic-o-meter.
Personally, I have to say that I am on the fence. I really cannot decide. All the 3 kisses are beautiful and have their own merits. And let me also say that, all shippy considerations aside, JCW and NJH perfectly nailed those kisses, because they all convey all the feelings that those kisses are supposed to convey in the context of the drama. This was apparent watching the kisses in the drama, it became even more clear watching the kisses bts released by SBS catch and it is glaringly obvious when you watch the 27 minutes of kiss scenes in the D-cut.
Their kisses are perfect, and I am not saying this as a shipper, but as a viewer who appreciates their efforts and the incredible job they did as actors. That's why, if anything, I am glad that Actor Ji ChangWook and Actress Nam JiHyun got the soompi award for the best kiss, because all bias aside, no other drama couple deserved this more than they did.
(I am still pissed about the other categories, though, but I have promised to myself that I won't talk about that, so....)
In this respect, I also agree that the smile-while-kissing in the courtroom kiss was most probably scripted or at least discussed beforehand, because it makes a lot of sense in the context of the scene. And it was also shown - even if not as clearly - in the version that aired, so I believe it was done on purpose. Regardless, it's beautiful to watch
But talking about smiles during kisses... I love - as in really, really LOVE - Hyunie's smile we get to see during the third kiss (laundry basket kiss). For DVD owners: 1st take, around minute 7:00 of the kiss scenes video (there are other hints of a smile from her during this kiss, but this one is more evident). Anyone else with me?
Lastly, since everyone is going gaga about the 27 minutes of kiss scenes (well, I am too ), let me briefly mention here (and I will try to elaborate a little during the weekend) that there is something that I love just as much, or if possible a even a bit more: the kiss scenes bts. Because there we get more of the kisses, and NamJi's reactions that for me are really gold.
Too bad there are no bts for the courtroom kiss, but I don't want to sound greedy or ungrateful... About that kiss I am already happy that we got a lot of footage of the different takes.
That's all from me for now. I need to go to bed. Happy Friday everyone, and good luck to all of you who are trying to get your hands on the last available copies fo the D-cut... fighting!!!

OK, I've quickly scrolled through the latest pages but I still have to properly backread from page 1511, and I think I have a few posts to reply to. I'll try to do that tomorrow, since RL calls today. But I have seen that people who don't have the dvd are (obviously ) curious, and wondering about the level and amount of skinship in the DVD bts, etc, so I need to throw in my very first impression since I finished watching also the 2nd couple disc a few hours ago.
Please bear in mind that :
- I have only rushed through the couple discs (not that I fast-forwarded any part, but did not pause, replay, etc either) for now;
- Having a very limited understanding of Korean obviously doesn't help;
- I was also very tired when I watched, and especially last night when I watched the 2nd disc,
- I have not watched the general bts yet, which I am sure will give me/us a much better perspective;
- Obviously I've watched from a shipper's point of view.
For all the above mentioned reasons, my perception right now is probably strongly flawed. This means that some (but not all) of the things I am going to say here might need to be revised after I have had the time to check out the entire content of the DVD and also to replay the couple discs. This is also not meant as a comprehensive analysis. I am just jotting down some random impressions to give a general picture to the people who don't have access to the DVD content and have to rely on our comments that will inevitably be a bit vague (because of the copyright issue) and will mainly focus on the shipper stuff (as expected since this is a shipper thread )
The couple bts are from quite a lot of scenes.
Due to the different tone and nature of the drama scenes (for instance, some required actual skinship beween JiBong, while in others they were just talking, etc.), the tone and nature of the bts also differs. (as it is easy to imagine, for instance skinship in the drama scene means more opportunities for "offcam" skinship, etc.)
That's not the only difference: I need to go back and rewatch for this (to make sure that I did not miss something because I was sleepy, etc ), but what I remember/felt is that some bts - especially for the early scenes - are really detailed and long, while for other scenes only shorter snippets are included. There might be a lot of reasons for this. Maybe they filmed less BTS footage for the last episodes because they were pressed for time and the BTS cameraman was busy with other tasks (if it is the same for general bts - which I still have to check out - this could be a very likely conclusion), or maybe this is an editorial choice of our PDnim who selected the content for the DVD. Who knows...
Anyway, think that the BTS in the DVD are different from the BTS released from SBS Catch. Of course, some of the "old" bts are included here too, but here you get to see the bigger picture whereas the SBS Catch BTS were just highlights. Here you really get an idea of how they filmed the scenes, and the huge work that even the simplest scene required.
Digression: I confess that I've never been particularly into filmmaking, etc. so while I've always known of course that there is always a loooot of work and also many nameless people behind every scene that we see on our screens I've rarely bothered to really understand what this means. For my movies, tv series, and dramas I am usually happy to enjoy the final result and that's it. Sometimes I might watch short BTS clips out of curiosity or to see what the atmosphere on set is like but I assure you that if it had not been for NamJi I wouldn't have bothered to watch 6 hours (!) of this kind of documentary "making of" clips, and definitely I wouldn't have sacrificed 6 hours of sleep to do so. But I ended up loving what I saw, as I briefly mentioned in my previous message. Not just the smaller or bigger (in some cases, definitely BIG ) glimpses of NamJi we got through these videos, but everything about these BTS. Starting from the teamwork of all the people involved in creating this drama to the obviously happy atmosphere on the set... to how JCW and NJH worked hard together and with the 2 directors to give us the best possible JiBong and SP.
So, let me say this one last time to make things clear for the fellow shippers who cannot access all this content and for anyone else who might lurk here to check NamJi shipper's reactions and comments after the DVD...
The "couple BTS" are 6 hours long. Does it means 6 hours of NamJi of being lovey-dovey, lost in their own world / in each other's eyes? 6 hours of NamJi making out or finding any possible excuse to have skinship with each other? NO. Not at all.
I was not expecting that. Not only because of course it would have been inappropriate and not suitable, but above all because I have a high opinion of both NJH and JCW as actors and individuals, and I have no doubt that they are serious and professional about their job. I was not at all disappointed in this regard, and everything I saw further cemented my opinion and respect and love for them. And without this respect and love for them, I could not ship them.
In these couple BTS I saw two people being very professional and working really, really hard even if always in a happy mood. Two people tirelessly rehearsing their scenes, talking with the directors and attentively listening to them... in this respect, what both of them had said in many interviews about discussing a lot about their scenes between themselves and with pdnim in order to make them more beautiful, to convey the feelings more effectively, etc. materialized before my eyes. I am incredibly thankful to NJH and JCW for this hard work that is readily apparent from these BTS, because no matter what their real feelings for each other are, without their professionalism and their acting skills JiBong wouldn't have been such a beautiful and enjoyable drama OTP to watch.
We all know after all that chemistry is a key element especially in a rom-com, but without many other factors it is not enough to make a drama worth watching.
Sorry for the long post and for stressing this point, but I thought it was important to say it at least once, since of course most discussion about the DVD here is and will be centered only on shippy stuff. And there is a lot Also what is already leaking in IG and twitter is ship-related, as you could expect. But since now we are dealing with materials that are not accessible to everyone (and therefore many people are reading and seeing only "filtered" content, and don't really have all the elements to make a full evaluation), it's too easy to give the wrong impression or create misunderstandings. And I personally I don't want to mislead anyone and reduce these 6 hrs of couple BTS to NamJi's kisses, skinship, etc. only, because I feel it would be even disrespectful of NJH and JCW.
And now that I have said this, I can happily dive in the purely ship-oriented comments myself.
Will be back later/tomorrow to try and share something more without violating the copyright
Happy weekend, chingus!

Got home a little late in the evening and went straight to watch couple discs (only managed to watch the 1st disc), didn't bother to unearth everything else in the box
D**n! they actually made a special segment - 27 minutes - for the KISS! I had to switch on the AC! LOL
I will probably not go out this weekend! and re-watch the couple discs again!
About the easter egg, see here:
No infringement in sharing this info as long as we don't say what the easter egg is I don't know myself, because I haven't checked out disc no 16 yet! LOL.
But I am curious too. Just have already to wait till tonight

Annyeong everyone.
I was planning to catch up with the thread yesterday evening, but when I got home I had the awesome surprise to find out that my DVD had already arrived. I was expecting it for next Monday, and instead there it was. You can imagine my happiness. And you can imagine why I went MIA and will probably be MIA for a while longer
But since I am on my way to the office, I'll take the chance to drop these few lines. I have panda eyes at the moment because I couldn't get much sleep even if I managed to watch only the first couple disc for now.
As others have already said, totally worth the money. I placed the order last August, exactly on my birthday, as this DVD was my own birthday gift to myself and from what I've seen so far I'm very happy I decided to go for it despite the cost and the long wait.
NamJi is love, and the whole SP team is love too. I am currently in awe of PDnim, the photography director, the staff and all the work that went behind this drama. I can now perfectly and completely understand Hyunie's words of appreciation and love in her acceptance speech during the SBS awards.
Ship-related, for now I can only confirm what the others have already said. The kiss scenes, while very professionally done, are definitely a sweet and hot treat for NamJi shippers. And finally we got too see more of the courtroom kiss, and it is really all kind of awesome
And then, so much happiness, skinship and affection all around...
If you guys have been stalking twitter and above all IG, I am sure you have already got an idea even if you don't have your own copy of the DVD
Time to go now, but I'll try to be back during the weekend to backread and comment a bit more . For now have a wonderful Friday you all!

Okie guys.. it's well known that SP Dcut is finally out and i will be honest to say i received mine and have binge watched it. So much feels. It was totally worth it. But due to regulations in Soompi, just would like to remind all not to share it here to protect our home okie? I can only say you have to search around to find snippets of it, and even then, its also actually not allowed to be shared on social media. So if u wanna stay in the trend, my only advice is this. Gahh.
And i can only say... i have to cover my eyes when i watched 27 min of namji kisses. That was literally the death of me.
Honestly, I don't know if I should thank you for taking the time to quickly share your impressions here (because, I mean, in your shoes probably I would have selfishly just stayed glued to the screen and used every second of my time to take in the new stuff ) or hate you because your comments (in addition to what is going around in the various sns) are making me die even more of anticipation.
I think my copy will arrive on Monday at the earliest, so I'll spend the weekend basking in my misery while most of you will be watching the DVD. Well, in fact I have something to do on Saturday, so maybe it's for the better, but still I can't help feeling a bit envious, even though I am happy for you all.
Seriously, thank you for the reminder about respecting the rules and the copyright.
For everyone who is in doubt about what is allowed and what is not, please refer to these tweets by Hyunie's fans who kindly translated the main points of the warning posted on the Daum Cafe:
So, please chingus: not only be careful and refrain from uploading copyrighted content on IG, Twitter, etc. but also please avoid sharing here such posts found on social media here. Even if we are all super curious and eager to comment and spazz, it is important that we act responsibly and stick to the rules, so as not to create problems. I purchased from Yes24 and I could not see my order history either, exactly for the reason you mentioned since I had placed my order last August, but I have already got a message from the courier saying that the parcel with my copy has been shipped and it's on the way. If you haven't got any notification, you can try and send a 1:1 consultation to Yes24 (just log in and from your page you can fill in the form with your question). It might take them a few days to reply though, so don't panic if you don't get an answer immediately
I hope this helps, and you will receive your copy soon!
I can't wait to get mine

[OFFICIAL] Ji Chang Wook and Nam Ji Hyun Couple (JiBong/JiJi Couple)
in shippers' paradise
Posted
So, after properly celebrating the NamJi gazing anniversary, I wanted to add something else... Since of course the rain scene and moon/star gazing throwback can't be missed but it is too easy, let me attempt something less obvious now.
When we celebrated the 1st Suspicious Partner anniversary on May 10th (and following days ), many of you took the time to reminisce and share your favorite scenes. Even though I could not join the fun, I truly loved reading everyone's thoughts. And that was clearly not the only time we commented on our favorite scenes in this thread (even if, truth be told, maybe we tend to discuss favorite behind-the-scenes more which also makes sense since this is the shipper thread and not the drama thread ), as this kind of topic would of course come up from time to time.
From what I could gather being in this thread - as a lurker first, and as a regular poster later - since the beginning, the Top-10 list, or Top-5 list, tends to be more or less the same for all of us, even though the exact ranking order may vary from person to person. I am also aware that our preferences might be affected to some extent by the existence of swoon-worthy BTS (i.e. scenes we got the BTS might get more points) but I think that in general we do choose scenes that are meaningful for the romantic arc, of for the drama as a whole, or scenes that stand out before they are funny, etc.
Now, there is one scene - included in episode 11, that aired on March 25th 2017, i.e. exactly 1 year ago (and that's why I am mentioning it now of course ) - that tends to be ignored and neglected by all of us. And I don't see it circulating a lot in IG, etc. so it seems to be the general consensus that this scene is not that important. So, why should be also celebrate this throwback if this scene is not that meaningful? Because "a certain someone" included this very scene in his own "best 4 romantic lines in SP" list and looked also pretty happy or rather "" rewatching it in front of his fans (and if memory serves me right, this is the only reason why this scene was ever mentioned and discussed in this thread )
The scene is obviously this one...
And this is the reason why that scene deserves more love from us and maybe to be included in shippers' lists of the best SP scenes :
So, from me, happy "이 여자야" (a.k.a. "This is my woman") scene anniversary too, chingus!
BTW, on a more serious note, if we are talking about throwbacks/anniversaries, 1 year ago today we also had a really beautiful and meaningful scene (and one that Wookie's favorite too), i.e. BH's confession and JW's "Don't fall for me" scene:
Oh, but just checking now the SBS drama YT channel vids for ep 11 and 12 I see many more great scenes... Since I badly need to go to sleep now though, I'll leave the throwbacks to those scenes to you, if you want to share here
Have a great Friday everyone!!!
