So angry at SBS, even if it was somehow to be expected...
My only consolation is rewatching Hyunie's expression while their couple scenes were showed.
She was the only one showing some actual emotion while watching the clips.
All the others actors were so bland and detached...
I might be delusional and/or seeing what I want to see, or maybe the resolution was not the best, but I think there were moments when she was really forcing a smile while she was missing those moments and a certain someone...

I had the same impression, to be honest. Despite the smile, her expression in some of the pics is just... well... tinged with sadness or a little bit forced. But i saw so many posts here and on SNS praising the super-bright smile, that it was only me...

As to this night being bittersweet... agree. I've been thinking the same especially over the last few days, but I did not dare to say it out loud here because I did not want to spoil the mood. But since you mentioned it now...
Yes, it's going to be bittersweet because Wookie won't be there and that will make us missing him even more. And for us shippers, of course, it will be even worse because we won't be able to see him where he should be, i.e. at Hyunie's side. In a way, considering the circumstances, we are lucky because we've already got pictures and videos of them on a stage together for some awards from the KBS awards 2014 (when ironically they were on the same stage together, side by side, to get the best couple award with other partners, but we found spazzing material anyway
) and from the 2017 SMA when fate brought them together to present an award (and again, we found something spazz-worthy in retrospect). But I am afraid this will be of little consolation tonight So, be strong, everyone! And what makes me a bit sad as well is that of course the end-of-the-year awards are a milestone for drama couples. We know because we've all been looking forward to tonight. But tomorrow this will be behind us, and a big chapter will be closed. As stupid as it might sound, we've been voting like crazy for SP and JiBong couple lately, and this was somehow a way to "be close" to our OTP and support them them, but this will also been over with the new year. Of course , that's life and that's how it should be, and I know that the people here won't stop loving and supporting NamJi even as we move over to other dramas, etc. but I hope you understand what I mean... To fight these sad thoughts, however, I am reminding myself that we still have the DVD release to look forward to! And then any update about NJH and JCW, and Wookie's return in May 2019... OK, these are reasons enough not to feel sad, right? Yeah! I will keep thinking about these, then. Sorry for my "rant" and thank you for bearing with me as I got it off my chest.
One last thing, though... Do we know for sure that SBS will give the best couple (and possibly the best kiss) award ?
'Cause it seems MBC removed this category this year, and they did not give any BC award yesterday (when they had 7 best couples in 2016). Considering how there was no official voting open on the SBS website, I've started to worry a bit since yesterday. Please don't hate me for bringing this up now, as I hope I am freaking out with no real reason. I just thought it was better to mention it either because you can correct me if I am wrong and I missed the confirmation, or because we can all be prepared in case there is no best couple award tonight. Hopefully the former, though!

Besides, it's obvious also from the latest video by SBS Catch that only the actual drama kisses were considered. Won hands down. No competition possible.
Well, now that I think about it, that's probably the reason why they choose to rank only the drama kiss scenes: because the results would have been toooooo obvious anyway; numbers speak for themselves I hope this makes you feel better @adi2019jiji and everyone else who might feel disappointed for the 5th place of our couple's first kiss

And on the other hand, I love being in this thread with people who tend to go for more delulu theories because all of you force me to consider new points of view and challenge my own hyper-rational approach.
I think we are a very well balanced group in the end, with our slightly different takes on NamJi. For sure, being on this ship would not be as fun without all of you On a different topic: I think it's not allowed to post links to streaming sites on Soompi. But don't worry, by the 31st we'll find a way. Now that I think about it... it's been several months since I've streamed anything, I must check if the websites I used are still up and working!
For sure it will be a busy afternoon for me since there's also another station I want to check but in this case I am grateful for the different time zone since I will be able to watch the awards and then go to the New Year's party I am invited to

I had tried checking the SBS website earlier, but could not find anything. What puzzles me is that not only there was no voting opened to fans for the Best Couple, but also for the popularity awards ("Top 10 stars" award, as they used to call it). But I really don't remember if these awards were given based on fans' votes in the past
For sure, I found that last year the nominees for the Best Couple were released around mid-December (see: http://koalasplayground.com/2016/12/12/sbs-releases-nominees-for-best-couple-at-2016-year-end-drama-awards/). This year they have only released today, the 26th, the list of the candidates for the Daesang and it's an unusually long list. And, with all due respect for all the actors there, some of the names on that list are not really suitable to be considered for the Daesang in my opinion. My guess - and my hope - however is that the people on that list we'll be given an award, preferably and acting award, anyway. SBS normally gives out plenty of awards anyway (even though I admit I find their categories a bit confusing ) so I am hopeful for JCW and NJH. As to the Best Couple, I'll keep my fingers crossed. If they awards 3 couples like last year, the main contenders based on netizens' comments and likes should be SP, WYWS and ToL (and all 3 dramas had similar ratings, which is a good thing), but it's possible that the network decides to acknowledge some other couple from a non romcom drama (or the couple of My Sassy Girl), so who knows... Anyway, let's stay positive and optimistic, chingus! Then, if things don't go the way we want and hope for, we can always start the new year ranting here and on all our SNS, boycotting all future SBS dramas, etc. BTW, is anyone going to check out SBS Catch Youtube channel for their own awards? They are going do the streaming on their channel tomorrow, Dec 27th, at 8 pm Korean time, if I remember correctly. I'll be at work, as usual

First and foremost, let me clarify this: I did not mean to doubt that pieces_of_rainbow is a shipper. Other friends here mentioned it (including @pauliza who follows that account, so she would know for sure
) and this is enough for me. On the other hand, fairy goodmother and Wookie's manager might not know this because they don't follow that account on IG (and most probably they are not lurking here to read our comments about that ).
So, they might suspect, yes, but they don't know for sure and since the account is private (so it's difficult for anyone to verify if it's a shipper account or a simple fan account, or just a personal account ) they are free to take her words at face value: "thanks for taking care of Actors NJH and JCW (JiBong couple). Please continue to do so in the future". They are free to openly like her gift and message, because it does not have blatant shipper overtones. That's why I said, with respect and admiration, that pieces_of_rainbows was very smart: even if she is a NamJi shipper, she did not push the shipper buttons, and by doing so she gave the opportunity to Aluu CEO and Wookie's manager to show their support for our couple. She supported our OTP in a way that was easy to accept and embrace also for their entourage. My wish is that all shippers would be that wise especially when trying to interact with people around NamJi! Instead of pestering them all with cringe-worthy questions such as "are they dating?" etc. because that is not the way to get a confirmation (not to mention that it can be considered rude and disrespectful....). pieces_of_rainbows proved that being restrained and subtle is the way to go, also to get small hints. If you by chance are lurking here... well done !!!!!

But being the rational shipper that I am I can only say that I don't know the score. And I don't even want to read too much into what the people around them do or don't do. ). But, I do believe in NamJi. 100%. -

I love this I know there is a perfectly good non-shipper explanation why Wookie's manager would like and comment this post.
Let's see:
1. pieces_of_rainbows might be a shipper, but her IG account is private, so people who don't follow her (including our favorite hair stylist and Wookie's manager) would not know.
2. She was very smart, and and she thanked the fairy godmother for taking care of NJH and JCW, a.k.a. JiBong couple, non JiJi / NamJi couple. It's a subtle but crucial difference. If she had mentioned NamJi, or had worded her message in an overtly "shippy" way, I doubt the Aluu CEO would have posted it on her IG (or at least she would not have shown the card), and for sure Wookie's manager would NOT have liked/commented this post.
3. It makes sense that JCW's manager openly likes a post that shows fans' gratefulness to fairy goodmother for taking care - among others (i.e. besides Hyunie) of his friend / the actor he has in charge.
Still, despite the rational explanation, my shipper heart can't help but loving the fact that he choose to leave a comment on that post
But allow me to say that these above are exactly the reasons why I would have preferred if NamJi shippers in IG had just let it go and enjoyed it quietly and discreetly as we are doing it here. No need to highlight this with screenshots and everything, and "force" the shipper interpretation. Don't misunderstand me: I perfectly understand that during the drought we get excited about the smallest things and the tiniest crumbs. It's the same for me. The only reason why I am saying this is that I am afraid that if we don't learn to be all really smart and discreet (just as pieces_of_rainbows was with her gift and card), we won't even get these small details anymore. The people around our OTP are guarded enough already, careful about what they post, like, comment, etc.... If we don't give them some space, if we we push them in a corner, it's not going to help NamJi and us. That's just my opinion, anyway, I understand if others feel different, so I hope I am not offending anyone.

This makes up a little bit for last year, when we were not able to see them together due to Yoojung's illness. I'm still sad thinking about it. But now our girl is fine and healthy, and it seems that BoYoo will be on the same stage in less than a week
And it looks like KYJ has a new endorsement, replacing Song Hye Kyo as Laneige brand model.

She is back in the first place now, leading by around 4K votes
, but this is definitely going to be the toughest category, since KSH has a very large and devoted fanbase, but NJH fans and NamJi shippers are definitely ready to battle. Aside from the general drama question, this poll has by far the highest no. of votes (over 100K), even much higher than the "(no more just) idol actors" category, which is saying a lot since we all know that kpop fans' voting power is huge.
But I'd say that for all the categories, given this voting system (i.e. unlimited voting + not even the need waste time with the captcha verification, etc.), no gap is really safe. I realized earlier as I was voting on repeat for our baby girl that even one thousand votes can be given in a matter of minutes if fans get serious about it. So, for Hyunie, Wookie and SP, keep voting when you have some spare time and never let the guard down, chingus!

Anyway, I am happy to see so much support for NJH. Despite being in the industry for so long, she might not be as popular/famous as other young actors yet, but her popularity really skyrocketed this year, thanks to SKL and above all SP (and the sharp increase in her followers and likes on IG is evidence of it). I just hope to see her talent and hard work recognized also by her peers and higher-ups in the form of some award by SBS on Dec 31st.
Loved her IG latest update! She is always so, so sweet and genuinely thankful towards her fans
P.S. totally unrelated, but... to all our friends in the Philippines: I hope you and your loved ones are safe. Especially on this Christmas Eve, my thoughts are with you and your country.

As to the voting for the KNTV Drama Grand Prize (link provided on the previous page) I think it should be quite easy thanks to the pictures and @pauliza 's instructions. But if anyone is having troubles because everything is in Japanese, please let me know. I'll try to help with the translation
KNTV is a Japanese TV channel that airs Korean stuff. FYI, Wookie is going against Joo Won for the "now in the army!" actors category and our Hyunie is competing with Kim SoHyun for the "no more child roles!" award.
