  1. I thought of another point I was going to explain - the king is afraid of the Xue family's power, and the fact that they command the military. That was the real reason he gave Chu Yue in marriage to Xue Yao, because by their country's law, XY could no longer be the general once he became the Prince Consort. XY knew that but there wasn't much he could do short of go against the king's wishes. I suspect that this will be the reason again when the king decides to make Xue Yao marry Xi Zhao's princess (the other territory) - it will probably be when he realises the divination ability CY has, and so he would seek to break XY's bond with her. OR... it could just be simply that the princess fell in love with XY (because who wouldn't LOL) when he conquered her country and the king is just killing two birds with one stone.

@MidnightRain I have some thoughts about Xue Mu:

I think it was a one-sided love that he had for the princess - she probably didn't even know him, or if she did, she didn't know who he was. As for the letter - it does appear in one of the early trailers before the show started airing - it probably will be how XY discovers that the woman his brother loved is his wife. It hasn't shown up yet - I think it is after they both have deeper feelings because otherwise there wouldn't be much angst involved lol.

I thought that Xue Yao was Master Guan Shan for some reason... but the netizens may be right - it might be his brother instead.

@enzek The lady was their "mother". Since XC and CY are not really blood-related, I can't say whose mother she was. But basically she told them to look after one another. I don't think she's an important character (nothing up to present suggests that she is).

I am quite enjoying this drama, I have to say. There's something about Zheng Ye Cheng that's really attractive... and I like Hu Yi Xuan's acting so far as well. I think it helps also that they've not written her character as a silly, naive girl. Although she has needed rescuing several times already, the situations were somewhat beyond her control and she doesn't sit there waiting but actively tries to save herself.

  2. One thing that I was really curious was how they were going to set up the 2nd male lead (Xing Chen) - because he is her step-brother. I couldn't see a set-up in which it would work/ have people rooting for him because even though they weren't biologically related, they had been siblings all their life. His actions, while supportive, often seemed over the line in regards to CY, particularly in regards to trying to take her away from her husband (I know the marriage at this point is problematic since she was unconscious but still...)...

The redeeming point at this moment is that XC truly didn't realise he was being overly possessive, or that he had feelings for CY beyond sibling love. To his credit, in Episode 13-14, he finally realises - and immediately cuts himself off from seeing her until he can deal with his emotions.

There are some MVs already released for three main songs in the OST - I really one of them - probably an "insert" song. The ending one is cute but feels too modern IMHO. There are spoilers in the MVs as well, with dialogue.

    The insert theme:

XY: You called me a demon; so why are you debasing yourself to be a demon's wife?

CY: If you're a demon, I'm willing to go with you down to hell.

XY: You can try trusting in me, just like the way you trust Xing Chen.

XY: I keep saying that I'll protect you; yet it's also me who's breaking your heart.

XC: I can give her a refuge no matter who wrongs her.

XY: You can't leave with him. You're mine.

CY: I am your Xu Chu Yue, always have been.

CY: Why don't you understand me? I don't need you to sacrifice yourself for me.

XC: There's a forbidden monster that's grown in my heart; I want to bring my heart back to the right path.

XY: I cannot be happy without you.

CY: After the last time XY risked his life to save me, I suddenly understood - Xue Yao loves me.

CY: You say that I am your wound; but you are my cure.

XY: From now on, I will be with you every sunrise, every sunset.

    -------------------------

The lines in blue have already appeared. I'll put the context/ episode in spoilers:

The first dialogue pair is in Episode 5 - so unfortunately it's not really a declaration of love. She was trying to defuse the situation where XC would get into trouble for taking her away; so she declares that she would be on XY's side instead. I don't think she means it at this point though - Boo.

I'm pretty sure I've heard the middle one but I can't remember where. I think it's the bit where XC shows the room he prepared for CY in his house.

Last blue line is in Episode 14, in the context mentioned in the previous spoiler. XC realises that his feelings for CY go beyond sibling love.

  3. I didn't realise that there were no subtitles available - you guys are amazing for following along!

@MidnightRain Ooo where did you read that? That totally explains what happens in the preview - I was wondering what was the conflict that would come between them.

I saw some questions from the previous page and thought perhaps the general trailer is still useful at this point - I've seen all released episodes to date (Episode 14) so there are some I've already seen and some yet to come:

Chu Yue (CY): Although there are tens of thousands of ways in the world to fall asleep and dream, there will only be true rest in the arms of your destined one. Although there are tens of thousands of beautiful, lasting sceneries, only in the arms of your beloved will you be at home.

CY: I want to sleep too. But this sickness of mine means that I can only sleep when the sun rises.

CY: I was just fine in the palace. But then I woke up and I was married to a someone I've never met.

CY: Rough warrior who knows no gentleness.

Xue Yao (XY): Spoiled princess who knows no suffering.

    CY: Put me down!

CY: Don't think you can do as you please just because we're married. I'm telling you - I won't accept such a thing!

CY: My dreams are different from others - I can foresee the future.

Man: If a human being uses the "Birth Stone" (my translation lol), they will need to pay the price.

CY: Ever since I had XY, I no longer dream.

CY: Do you have someone you really want to protect?

XY: Older brother, I no longer want to be tormented by hate.

XY: You're my only way out.

XY: Of all people, why did it have to be you? Return him. Return my brother back to me.

Tao Yao (TY): The king found out that the princess inherited the diviner's ability to foresee the future. But she only has one chance left!

CY: This is the last time I see him.

CY: All this was just a beautiful dream - we're merely going back to the way it was.

XY: If only one of us can live, I'd rather it be you.

CY: For your sake, I'm willing to be imprisoned.

XY: If you fall asleep, you won't wake up again, right?

    ---------------------------

I'm wondering which questions to answer, just generally and which are more spoiler-y. LOL. Which episode are you guys up to, though?

Perhaps I'll do the questions about the premise - so basically, the princess is not the king's biological daughter (this is revealed pretty early on). She is the daughter of the previous Royal Diviner and was adopted by the king after the Diviner died. She grew up in the "Cold Palace" (you'll know this if you've watched lots of C-dramas - basically where rejected concubines/ concubines who fall out of favour with the king go to live the rest of their lives ignored until they die) with her step-brother prince (Xing Chen/  his title - Shun Wang).

Unbeknownst to the king however, the "Birth Stone" which gives the ability to foresee the future went into the body of the princess when she was young. The current Diviner (who was her father's disciple) and XC help to hide this fact - because as the preview mentions, there is a price to pay for using the stone. So far what has happened in the drama is - the princess will dream if she sleeps between a certain time of the night - if she tries to change what happens in the dream, she will turn into a zodiac animal. There are only 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac, and we are already on the tenth in the beginning few episodes - she became a rat the night she got married. And apparently, she will die if she uses all 12 of her "chances".

Which is why - she tries to stay up through the night and sleeps during the day - which then results in her reputation as being weird, sickly, strange. She realises that she is able to sleep through the night without dreaming when she is next to XY - which gives us lots of hijinks

    --------------

Right, this post is getting too long so... let me know if you guys want to know specifically about anything else and I'll try to answer them if I can since I have the advantage of not needing subs.

  4. I was thinking as I started watching Ep 14 that it wasn't as intense as the previous three episodes (I became a heart-wrenched sobbing mess) but obviously I was wrong - it was a brief reprieve before they twisted my heart over and over and I became a sobbing mess again - when MY sobbed in her room, and GT sitting outside, and when ST tells Jae Su his observation of how MY felt, when GT cries to his brother, and then when ST came to feed her and she kept apologizing.

Aside from all the brilliant stuff everyone's already talked about - one thing that stood out to me was how much of a support network they've all built up with each other. There were so many instances where someone connected to another to check on someone else. GT had to give MY space and he asked Sang In to go check on her. JR checks on MY after seeing her leave the hospital. She tells her mum to check on Director Oh. Jae Su as usual, is with ST. ST and Jae Su check on MY and GT. And JR's mum just being awesome all around. I really like how they show the relationships they've built, and it seems to give hope that despite the storm that is coming, all of them will be okay because someone's got their back.

I think also it was really good that they made GT stand his ground with MY - he firmly told her that he would stay by her side, despite what he knew. The fact that he stayed outside her room while she cried and waited to speak to her... "When I see you smile at me, I forget everything else. The butterfly and even my mum - I forget everything else except the two of us." In Korean, it was also, "I forget everything else; and only the two of us remain." That line spoke volumes about his feelings for MY, probably even more than if he had said "I love you".

I really liked that he made it clear she did nothing wrong, and also that they did nothing wrong - all of them were kids who grew up in unfortunate circumstances beyond their control.  My heart broke during the conversation between ST and GT; ST asked if MY was whimpering in pain from heart ache, and GT replied that yes, he could hear her whimpering. :tears: And he was hurting from seeing her hurt - which is what family is.

Jae Su's line to GT was like a lightbulb moment - "Just admit the fact that you're weak." He was really insightful in pointing that both GT and MY were weak people who basically need each other to lean on. GT doesn't seem to have learnt it yet by the end of the episode when he tries to send MY away from the cursed castle, though hopefully he'll begin to see that it's just better when they're together, no matter what the situation.

Which brings me to a shallow point - I'm glad there was at least one hug between them this episode :sweatingbullets: a kiss would have been unrealistic, but I'm spoiled in hoping for something every episode after they confirmed their feelings. Also hoping that they'll take ST's advice, "To kiss is better than to fight" to heart in the last two episodes

  5. Youtube randomly put this video on my feed and I thought I should share this for a moment of levity :P It's BTS from another drama 2 years ago but it has Vengo and Song Yunlong (Cang Yi in this drama) in it. I have no idea what scenes they're filming but it *ehemm* involves a row of men taking off their tops...

    You have been warned:

There's a funny bit at 0:38 where they filmed Vengo wrapping his legs up in cling film (either to keep warm or keep dry, I guess but I think all of them do it). The staff are laughing because he used up all 3 rolls of wrap due to his long legs, though he tried to argue that it was 2.5 rolls LOL).

  6. Hmm... I've finished the whole drama now. Mostly agree with what you guys said about the last few episodes - there is a sense that everything was rushed, and not enough time between events. One thing I really wished was shown is how DH would have looked for FJ when she left, but instead it was mostly him battling (in fact it seemed like that was all he was doing the entire time). I also didn't like how characters just died off-screen and you didn't even get to see their sacrifices (like: the Demon King Xu Yang and the whole Biyiniao clan). I couldn't feel sad for them because I didn't see what happened to them, and that seemed like their characters didn't get properly sent off.

That was my main gripe - everything was SAID, not SHOWN. If anyone knows a thing about storytelling, it's that the latter is always better and stronger than the first.

I've sort of given up expecting the steamy stuff lol. The novel did set expectations, and I had already expected it'd be toned down, but they made it like kindergarten level. Although I'd say that they were reeaaally sweet, but it's a bit unrealistic to keep to forehead kisses given their age, when they already had a child AND they were dying - would it have killed someone to give them something on the lips?? Sigh. But what's done is done.

Re @SC2019 and @They Sick: I don't think he gave her promises he couldn't keep. That's precisely what he said he wouldn't do. He specifically said to Zhe Yan that he can't promise her that, because he didn't know what would happen in the future given the way they were changing their destinies. I think the problem was already mentioned by some others here before - he didn't tell FJ stuff in order to protect her, but he should have because she was his partner, and not necessarily someone who needed or even wanted protecting.

  7. I've been slowly shoring up the episodes to watch... busy with real life and everything, only just caught up to Ep 48. And OMG, the tears from Ep 47-48 :tears:

I really liked the scene in Ep 47 where FJ, after absorbing Aranya's memories, is finally able to tell Shen Ye what happened and confronted him with how Aranya felt. "So this is what it felt like, to have a thousand arrows piercing in one's heart." Ooof! That hurt, in a good way. Shen Ye tried to defend himself, but FJ went, "There's no way Aranya could have known that!" Tears everywhere :tears:

And of course, DH and SMY watches everything in Ep 48 through the Miao Hua Glass - man... Aranya is so badass and cool. She died so beautifully and tragically... And the revenge from Shen Ye... maybe the Biyiniao tribe as a whole didn't deserve it, but that Queen though. URGH.

Also you guys are amazing for being able to hold on after watching Ep48 last week. I'm glad I waited so I can see more now.

    ------------------

Sidenote: I've watched both seasons of Eternal Love that you guys are talking about. No one watches them for the plot :P It's one of those where you just turn off your brains and enjoy the *steamy* fluff. I haven't watched Liang Jie in another else so I can't say how she is with other actors - she's great with Xing Zhao Lin. But I've watched him in Lucky's First Love (?) with Bai Lu and he had chemistry with her as well. Maybe it's his characters - he plays a similar kind where he only sees the female lead once he falls in love. And he really goes for it with the kisses haha. I watched some interviews he's done and he seems a very down-to-earth actor serious about his craft.

  8. Hmm. I just watched Episode 46 in full. I guess because I already knew about the consummation scene, my expectations were managed and I didn't feel really outraged.

I really liked that they kept most of the scenes leading up to it - like how DJ sees FJ/Aranya with Shen Ye and then being too upset and getting drenched in the rain. It wasn't even just jealousy - it was the line, "I never thought I'd be too late". That is just such good angst. I really liked everything from there, the conversation on the bed when he lay down wet and confused, and then at the bath tub. The way DJ was sulking and refusing to move, until she got frustrated at him too haha. She tells him to remove his clothing if he can move and cover himself with a blanket while she ran the bath; otherwise to stay put if he couldn't move. He said he couldn't move, still trying to get her to stay. She gets exasperated and says, "Then bath with your clothes on!" And he sits up, "I can move now" all in the sulky tone. :sweatingbullets:

And the scene of the morning after, they were so cute and they snuggled, which I'm happy about :)

Actually thinking about it- that was exactly the problem with Shen Ye too (in the drama version anyway). He had probably never thought he would be too late. It seems like he finally realised that after FJ provoked him, saying that he had wronged Aranya.

Slowly savouring the episodes before the next week...

I haven't actually watched all the new episodes.. but I think I might be ok with all the other sweet bits in the rest of the episodes, rather than focus on the lack of steaminess.

There was something I wanted to say - I really like how FJ is as a character. I love that she's actually not useless (in fact, she's pretty badass), she's smart and she's quite resourceful. Even if she's not extremely powerful like some of the other 'older' immortals, she does hold her own quite well in fights. I like that her hobbies include swordsmanship, making weapons and also cooking - she's neither extremely boyish nor girlish in the traditional sense.

  10. And the preview for Ep 50 - seems like FJ pretends she's lost her memories. This part isn't in the book, I think.

FJ: Which little fox of Qing Qiu are you? (it's so cute that she's holding a strand of his hair - DJ shakes his head) Erm... were you my classmate who studied with me? (DJ shakes his head again) Erm.. or were you an immortal who ate at my blind date feasts?

DJ: Looks like... you've really lost your memories.

    FJ: Huh?

DJ: That's too bad. (takes his hair back)

    FJ: What's too bad?

DJ: At first, I was going to go back to Qing Qiu with you to see your family, to discuss how we should arrange a make-up wedding banquet, and make you Empress (Di Hou). But since you've really lost your memories, then all these have to be postponed indefinitely.

FJ: What? What, are you really marrying me?

    DJ smirks. (oh FJ :sweatingbullets:)

DJ: Who would have thought that you'd forget everything?

FJ: Wait! Where are you going?

DJ: I'm going to ask Lian Song to send you back to Qing Qiu.

FJ: Then... then are you not marrying me anymore?

DJ: Since you don't remember me, we shall have to forget this matter.

FJ: Ah! Actually... actually, I think I remember now. We were husband and wife in Aranya's dream, right? I was Aranya, and you were Xize.

DJ: How does Aranya's dream count? Since you don't remember me, don't force yourself.

DJ turns to leave but FJ backhugs him.

FJ: Erm... I think I remember now.

LOLOLOL. Young fox FJ is no match for wily old DJ :P

  11. @Marie Kay They absolutely did.

Sigh... I agree with all of you here about the lack of steaminess. And actually people who mentioned The Romance of Hua Rong - actually they cut most of the kisses in that one too. The BTS was way more exciting (tongue was involved) which made the actual footage even harder to swallow. Though I didn't watch TMOPB, I think I recall seeing steamier scenes, no? (maybe it was easier for two married people (YM at the time) so rumours wouldn't swirl that easily)...

Haven't watched the latest but saw the previews for 49 and 50 on YT. Not sure if there's been translations but here we go:

    Preview for Ep 49:

I'm not sure who DH and FJ are fighting? Maybe I need to watch the latest episodes to figure it out.. Is it the battle that Aranya goes to?

    Man... Shen Ye's heartbreak :tears:

    SY: She's a shadow. I'm also a shadow.

    SY: Everything was in vain.

SY: Aranya, Aranya, where are you? Where are you, Aranya? Come back...

SY: I shouldn't have let you suffer so much while you were alive. And here I was, foolishly thinking everything could be redone.

    MY: Shen Ye!

  12. Thanks @jimmylyne for the correction. I read what @Cửu Nhi wrote as well. Seems like I didn't watch that bit carefully haha.

There is another thing I've been thinking about, and I think this is different from the book... in the drama, when DH asks who is Aranya, the Biyiniao Queen says, "She is my younger sister". Does that mean she's Junuo?? But Junuo became a commoner though...

Just watched Ep 41. WOW. Quite different from the book with the Miao Luo bits. Very interesting. Have to go to 42 right now!

Out of the three lives, Chen Ye - Aranya is the most heartbreaking story for me. They deserve another chance for a happy ending. To be honest, I don't even feel sad for Song Xuanren because his misfortune was done on purpose. But Chen Ye, he didn't even get to tell Aranya that he love her. :tears:

You touched on the turning point between DH and FJ's destiny. According to the novel (and also mentioned several times in the show), DH and FJ originally never had the fate to be together - hence why DH never noticed her when she was in Tai Chen palace or whatever. But because their shadows, Shen Ye and Aranya had such a heartbreaking, "unfinished" fate - it caused this destiny to stretch to DH and FJ. In other words, it's exactly because of their incomplete fate that DH and FJ get a chance. So I'd say it's sad... but necessary.

I remember from one of the trailers, they put the words, "The destiny between them in the past, was merely that she once liked him so much".

    48 minutes ago, sssf said:

FJ woke up as Aranya and she couldn’t remember anything accept she knew she is living someone’s body. Correct?

Ok now Vengo... in the Aranya’s dream, he used Xi Zi’s body but kept DJ’s face? Aranya was engaged to XiZe? But Aranya (FJ) didn’t recognise or couldn’t remember DJ?

Chen Ye who was the little boy who saved and took care of Aranya? Played by Vengo too?

omg... then FJ remember DJ and found out that DJ was using XZ’s name in the dream? Correct?

so when DJ entered Aranya’s dream

together with FJ, DJ didn’t know whose body FJ will be using hence he was looking for her calling out 小白 (xiao bai) ? So in the dream Aranya’s face was the same as FJ?

Sorry I'm cutting your post but just to respond:

You're right about the first point. According to the drama, she doesn't have memories of herself (FJ) or the body she's in (Aranya). Which leads to the second point - Actually Aranya is married to Xi Ze, not just engaged. But they're an estranged couple who only got married because of the king's wish to have his position strengthened through Xi Ze's identity. Since FJ's not Aranya, she doesn't know anything about her and that's why she doesn't know who Xi Ze is or what he looks like. But there's also added layers as to why she doesn't recognise/ remember DJ. She also doesn't seem to have memories as FJ - although she dimly recalls someone in white hair and purple robes. On top of all these - when DJ took over Xi Ze's body, he wanted to keep his own face and used a sort of spell over the whole world of Aranya's dream so that everyone in the dream would not question his appearance but accept him as Xi Ze. Su Mo Ye could recognise him because I think he entered Aranya's dream AFTER the moment DJ cast the spell, which means he wasn't affected.

And yes, Shen Ye is the little boy who took care of Aranya. He's played by two versions of Vengo, in fact :sweatingbullets:

I haven't watched till the part where FJ remembers DJ so I don't know about this point haha.

Indeed, DJ didn't know where FJ's soul would go. He was expecting it to be into a baby in a womb, which was why he thought it might be in Junuo since she's pregnant.

Aranya is also FJ's shadow, just as Shen Ye is Dijun's shadow, so Aranya's face was always going to be the same as FJ.

    ----------------

I forgot to talk about another thing the drama changed - YCW let the Demon Clan know about DH going into Aranya's dream, which gets reported to Miao Luo through the snitch Nie Chuyin. That's gonna bring about the big fight earlier, isn't it?! I was like, "Grrr YCW being an idiot again" but at the same time curious as to where it would lead.

  14. @taekwang Su Moye is the West Sea's second prince. He's a friend of Lian Song and his mother is the Snake Queen. In the drama, Lian Song says he thought that if anyone could help with the snakes (that guard the Jieyou Spring), it'd be the Snake Queen (and by extension her son). And then of course also what @lizzy23 said.

Hmmm I'm up to Ep37 now (losing all my sleep, can't stop HELP). I think I like the changes they made as to how DH quickly suspects that FJ's soul might be in Aranya - I always thought it didn't make sense in the book that DH wouldn't know, seeing as how he's so mightily smart. The way he can sense the presence of her soul in the drama now, makes sense to me. Also it's so ROMANTIC  like he would know her no matter where or who she was. The plus would also be that we'd get less misunderstandings involving Junuo.

I really like the scene where Su Moye and DH met and how they immediately recognised each other, but kept up appearances. And DH so actively looking for and chasing after FJ...  The friendly atmosphere between Su Moye and FJ is quite fun, and so effective to make DH jealous hehe...

  15. Just finished Ep 35 and my thought was - How many Vengos are there?! LOL.

    My thoughts/ discoveries:

    - Love how affectionate Dijun is with confused FJ - it was heartbreaking listening to FJ recount her sorrows in Tai Chen Palace, and seeing the realisation on DH's face as he realises how he hurt her unintentionally.
    - Two kiss scenes in this episode  Love how DH takes charge, "You're right. I would initiate it." KYAAAA~~
    - So there's a past Shen Ye (Vengo in black hair with topknot in the white and blue robes) and a present Shen Ye (Vengo with a different black hairstyle without the topknot and dark blue robes) in Aranya's dream! What. Talk about confusing lol.
    - Xize in Shen Ye's flashback of Aranya's marriage to him is played by a different actor, who is deliberately blurred out - I think because Dijun later assumes his identity.

I'm wondering about after DH places FJ's body in the ice coffin, we get the scene where FJ seemingly falls into an abyss with DH desperately trying to reach her, before she wakes up as Aranya. Is this just a dream? Her soul falling into the body? (Since DH removed her soul to place into a physical body belonging to the dream).

@LaxClyne I had the same thought - I think Princess Jie Lue is going to admire YCW, even if she thinks he's an idiot. I don't remember her character in the book, but I like that there's an alternative possibility for YCW.

  16. You guys are way too active for me to read everything :sweatingbullets: But I've been enjoying the pages I've seen. I watched up to Ep 33 last night and spoiled myself with the kiss scenes in Ep 35 and 42

Anyway, Iike some of you, I like the fact that they are playing up Miao Luo's influence on characters such as Ji Heng, and indirectly, Yan Chi Wu. I think it makes sense in the narrative. Although they kept some important consequences such as

Dijun still casually handing over the pimpon/Saha fruit to Ji Heng

in order to trigger events like Aranya's dream.

I also like how Dijun is so expressive in the Fanyin Valley. And all the jealous bits. HAHA. I was literally squeezing my pillows and blankets as I watched! Haven't felt so fluttery for dramas in a while - I mean, some dramas have them in bits but the chemistry between V + D is really quite special.

Another thing is I feel the production thinks about the changes and properly lays down the foundations for it in earlier episodes - like the red air thing appearing in FJ/Jiu Ge's room even before anything happens - so we know Miao Luo is aware and capable of being somewhere even while being suppressed. And so it makes sense when she influences Ji Heng - it's not a random event.

Anyway, time to watch more episodes!

  17. So excited it's Thursday!! (a bit late I know but timezones and work...). AND OMG ALL THOSE PREVIEWS ON YOUTUBE WHAAAAAT. Usually they release two previews but today they released 8 (Ep 37-44!!), although the preview for Ep40 is missing. Totally spoiled now - literally every preview provoked internal screaming!

All those sweet scenes... from reading some of what you guys wrote, there's been some changes. I'm really curious and unsure but at the same time I haven't hated the changes they've done so far.

Should sleep now to get up for work tomorrow, but who am I kidding.. gotta hunt for them new episodes now

@angelflower Vengo as both Chen Ye and Xize? :sweatingbullets:I hope I don't get confused. Poor Vengo...

Well it's already seen in the preview that Vengo is Shen Ye, which totally makes sense since Shen Ye is meant to be Dijun's shadow. And then since Dijun takes Xize's identity, it can't be another actor either. The book specifically mentions that Dijun kept his appearance as Xize, but used a spell so FJ-Aranya doesn't recognise him.

Also more importantly, it is DJ-Xize and FJ-Aranya who consummate their marriage, so it's impossible it will be another actor hahaha

Vengo must be having a fun time dressing up and playing so many different characters. I mean, Reba has quite a few identities too but somehow his are more distinct from one another.

Can someone explain the aranya arc. I read the book but dont understand it. There is a ARANYA but is she in love with both ChenYE and Size?

Aranya is in love with Chen Ye. Feng Jiu, in Aranya's body, falls for Dijun, in Xize's body.

In the Aranya-Chen Ye story, Aranya is married to Xize although she is in love with Chen Ye. But the Xize in the story is not in love with Aranya. When Feng Jiu and Dijun come into the dream as Aranya and Xize, their relationships stay the same. Except because Dijun is Xize, Xize changes towards Aranya, causing FJ-Aranya to be in love with him.

It's a bit confusing because Aranya and Chen Ye are both only shadows of Feng Jiu and Dijun respectively. But basically, they fall for each other, no matter what their identities are.

It's going to be even more confusing because Vengo is going to play all the characters I think haha.

I have a quandary - the translations and most of the talk so far here has called it Aranya's dream, and Chen Ye.  But according to the latest previews and the Chinese characters, her name is actually A-lan-ruo. And Chen Ye is actually Shen Ye. B)

  20. So obsessed with this story and show at the moment hahaha... glad to have a new distraction after Fairyland Lovers ended. Never thought I'd watch such a long series (which was what put me off TMOPB) but I can't resist the Reba-Vengo pairing  I'll confess I watched at least 12 episodes of TMOPB but then wasn't interested anymore and only watched clips of Feng Jiu and Dijun. There's just something magical about the both of them on screen haha.

I also downloaded and read the PB english translations in the last three days. Loving it! Wonder how much of the *ahem* steamy bits we'll get to see  The series has undoubtedly changed the order of some scenes but I'm pretty ok with how it is at the moment. It's also a lot of fun seeing the scenes appear from the book. And of course, I also wish for an extension of the ending of the book in the series haha.

Oh! And I'm hoping that next to sweet scenes between the couple, we also get more of jealous Dijun. I always think the jealous MLs are a hoot! Hee!

It is me or SH and JH were apart for like less than 20 days ?

No, the time period was not specific. But in that part where JH sits on the rooftop holding the cake, before she gets the call from SJ and realizes SH is inside the house, she says "In the few months since I've left the room..." So it was longer than that for sure, we just don't know the exact duration.
