SJ didn’t have a chance from the beginning and to the end. She already friendzone him many times, her only love is reserved for SH. Stop hating on the actors and actresses, they brought to life a wonderful drama for us in the midst of this depressing pandemic.

@piluche exactly exactly you can’t be more right. Now I’m actually depressed that it has ended, haha. They cast everyone so well it was really quite perfect. All the cast and crew brought their A game to the drama.

I seriously love that in True Beauty there was no ambiguity at all. So refreshing, unlike in other kdramas. It has always been SH for JK. JK never, not once has expressed any kind of love interest in SJ before so I don’t understand why are there haters?! In fact I feel SJ was a little selfish to have confessed and he knew it himself too. He told JK that he was sorry to have confused her. Sigh I wish people will stop trying to compare the drama to the webtoon. IT IS AN ADAPTATION!!

  2. @madmad min Hmm I think even if Su Ho didn’t return I don’t think Ju Kyung will return Seo Jun’s affections. It is very clear that she has not forgotten SH at all. Also, in SH’s defense he only “stalked” JK when they met at Namsan Tower by chance. If JK no longer has him in her heart she would have never went there when the first snow fell. It was then that  he knew that JK has never forgotten him and that he has to get her back. If at that time JK had forgotten him and has somebody by her side I’m sure SH would have let her go. That’s very evident during the first scene of episode 16 where he was not angry nor jealous at all when he saw SJ hugging JK. Because he knew. That it was always him and only him in JK’s heart.

The 1st male lead is so perfect, handsome looking, good height, broad shoulder, fine hair, sparkling and charming eyes, can sing well, what else do we expect in this story? He is just like walk out from the "manhwa look and character" - exactly the same look.

Omg yes! Cha Eun Woo is so dreamy and seriously is PERFECT as Lee Su Ho. :heart4:

I’m so sad it’s over :tears:

The sister and the wedding. I rewatched it 3 times because it was so funny. She is so exuberant. And the writer must be on crack to write thar scene. Ok the whole wedding scene was so good. Great comic relief.

Yeah whoever cast the sister and the teacher is a genius. They acted out their characters to perfection! Actually let me rephrase that. All of the supporting cast are perfect. Seriously, even the bully girls. Loved loved loved all the comedic moments, I have not cackled so much watching a drama without feeling cringey in a while.

  5. Our Su Ho has grown up! Into a mature, understanding adult! He’s no longer the brooding, jealous boy at the school field trip.

    Spoiler

He’s sure of his place in JK’s heart and is no longer threatened by SJ. He’s able to talk it out with his best bud, in peace!

I’m so glad they didn’t drag out the love triangle in the finale and got it resolved right at the beginning of it!! Yay!!

All in all, I feel it’s the perfect ending to this drama. With comedic relief thrown in sporadically, and enough sweet lovey dovey moments. The most heartwarming endgame :fullofhearts:

  6. @kdramagrandma I agree that Su Ho shouldn’t have broke up with JK, but that’s a very familiar trope in kdrama. They want to show the pain and separation before the getting together and living happily ever after  again. So, that’s kinda expected.

Though in Su Ho’s defense, he had known all along that his best friend has always loved his girl, and while he’s heartbroken to have to give her up, again he’s trying to be selfless because he’s thinking maybe Seo Jun can be a better boyfriend to JK since he cannot be physically there. That’s why he did not contact her immediately when he landed in Korea, and only when she appeared at Namsan he then realized she still had feelings for him.

I personally feel and am hopeful that Su Ho won’t be mad in tonight’s finale, as he didn’t look the way he did (angry) at the end of the field trip episode when he saw Seo Jun comforting JK when she was crying. His voice was also even when he asked if SJ was still interested in JK in the preview for the episode 16. I think he knows he has given up the right to be angry because JK is not his anymore since they broke up. But we shall see!

Now we have SJ looking like a desperate fool pinning for his best friend’s girl, JK is just a pretty face with two guys fighting over her, and SH still running around trying to make up to JK.

Yep, it turned out to be a cliche kdrama after all. That’s why the ending of episode 13 could have been the best finale without the tiresome love triangle dragging it out. Also I guess they wanted to “follow” the webtoon a bit more?

Hopefully today’s final episode will make up for it? :cheers:No doubt it will be endgame SH/JK. #fighting

I’m totally confused why Jk keeps running away from SH. so cold.

@mizv She’s angry with SH because he was the one who wanted to break up, and did not once reply to her or keep in touch at all after the break up. She’s heartbroken and hurt. That’s why even when deep down she still misses him she tells him she doesn’t. And runs away from him, because she has pride too and is not gonna just fall over him once he’s back.

I think what makes him look sad is because he only doesnt get the girl. And I dont think it can make him become the saddest boy in the drama or even put him in the same position as that second lead in start up or even jungpal in reply 1988. Nope. It's SJ choice to keep loving a girl that his bestfriend love and never see him as a man.

This is why I can't relate or even sympathize with his character.

    ---

Okay, since today is gonna be the last ep. I want to see more lovey dovey scene of Suho x Jukyung (I know we've got them already in previeous episodes, but I want more lol).

Besides, I want Suho to start thinking his future as well. I mean... we know that he's smart and wealthy, and know how to make a good song. But I feel bad when the story seems to lose the focus of Suho's dream besides being together with Jukyung.

@airasara Very true and well said! I, too don’t  sympathize with SJ’s character and I really did pity Han Ji Pyeong’s character until I stopped watching Start-Up because I knew he wouldn’t end up with Dal-Mi.

Yeah, come to think of it, Su Ho and Ju Kyung are the same. They are selfless and think of others before themselves. That’s why Su Ho encouraged Seo Jun to become a trainee again and didn’t think of his own future. I also hope to see Su Ho’s career dream come true.

I don’t get it, why Lee pinning for your best friend’s girl? In the real world, they won’t be best friend no more. Body goes after their best friend’s girl openly like that.

@pilucheI know right? I can only say, it is for drama’s sake. Drama can’t all be happy and lovey dovey. Always need some pain and suffering. And sadly, it’s always the second leads who suffer.

But that scene at Namsan Peak was definitely a nod to the movie Sleepless In Seattle.

I agree! Love Sleepless in Seattle too!

Su Ho has always been selfless, I cannot bear to imagine how he deal his pain during those two year wherein he doesnt have anyone because his father has been bedridden while Ju Gyeong she has her family, friends, and Seo Jun so I really do hope Su ho finally will get his deserve happiness.

@cess4evah I was so heartbroken for Su Ho too. All alone and so far away from everyone else. It’s a miracle indeed that he survived the 2 years in the US. I think his main motivation and what got him through that time would be as soon as his dad is well enough he is on the next plane to Seoul to see Ju Kyung.

I love “Love So Fine” too! Cha Eun Woo’s voice is perfect in that song!

    Spoiler

I was sad to see Ju Kyung renamed Su Ho’s contact in her cellphone to his name rather than Boyfriend :tears: and it always has been Girlfriend for Su Ho.

Tbh I know kdramas are 16 episodes but they could've wrapped this up in episode 14 if they didn't do that contrived Suho going abroad trope. I wonder how they'll drag out the remaining two episodes. I don't have faith that they won't drag out the love triangle until the very end of ep 16. Like damn let Seojun move on. Also justice for PYN I feel like some of her scenes might have been cut. Her whole arc was so choppy.

Actually my friend also told me that she’d have been contented with the ending of episode 13. But I loved all the sweet lovey dovey moments in episode 14. I think they just wanted to follow some of the plot in the webtoon by having SH also leave Korea and the time jump. But I agree about Soo Jin’s story arc.  @softestfairy Suddenly, she’s out of the picture. I wonder if we will see more of her in the final 2 episodes.

Anyways, cannot wait for the last two episodes so we can all sit back and collect our beautiful SH & JK endgame. They even included the childhood connection, that's when you know they're endgame. <3

So true. I can’t wait for the last 2 episodes too, and finally see what SH wrote in Prince Comics! I’m kinda sad that it’s ending though. But it has been a fun ride! I seriously never thought that I’d like a high school drama but this one exceeded my expectations. The comedic parts are so funny, yet not cringey. I haven’t laughed so much in a while. The supporting cast are all so good too.

@madmad min LOL I’d love to see baby grapefruit too aww so cute

As much as all of Team Seojun wants to see SJ and JK together, but, like SJ himself has told Su Ho in that field trip episode, doesn’t it matter what JK wants? And sadly, the only one she has loved from the very beginning is Su Ho. Sorry :( but I think JK’s endgame is SH.

It bothered me because I thought I wasted my time watching this drama just to find out they broke up in the end. I'm just hoping for a happy ending with those 2 since they actually met when they were kids. I also can't wait for it to be revealed what Suho wrote on the wall of the comic book store in reply to JK scribbling there.

@Sharioh you’re welcome! Also, they make the previews to mess with our minds. If you remember, the preview of episode 14 was NOTHING like episode 14 itself. The ending of episode 14 (scene after 2 years time jump) was made to mess with us too. Don’t worry! I’m confident our OTP will end up together. They have already said their “I love you”s too! :fullofhearts:

@nuttyzWow.. thanks for the text preview. Is it legit?

I've seen some text previews and it really happens in the drama. So I hope this one is also true so I can sleep tight until the final episodes.

@airasara I think the text preview is legit. I saw this on dramamilk too. Where did they find the text preview from though?

    TEXT PREVIEW

Ju-kyung and Suho had to separate.

Ju-kyung realized after separating that the little kid she met in the comic shop was Suho. That makes her feelings even more hurt.

    Time passes…

Ju-kyung becomes a college student and is an intern at Selena’s shop who she looked up to.

Meanwhile, Seo-joon angrily confesses all his old buried feelings to Ju-kyung.

Ju-kyung is surprised and confused with Seo-joon’s unexpected confession.

Ju-kyung sees Suho in a special place like it is fate…

@piluche It looks like we get to find out what SH wrote on the wall at Prince Comics in the next episode! So apparently from the text preview it makes JK more sad?! Now I’m even more curious!

Does this mean that the drama will have a hanging ending? I don't think m y heart can stand it!

I don’t think so, since the drama only followed the storyline of the webtoon loosely. I still think SH and JK will end up together. Though I’ll hate a hanging ending too.

Maybe that will be what saved him to get her back? Lol...she is upset...goes to Prince Comic to cry her eyes out, turn around and see his writing. Then realize that he’s the little boy from when she was little. Ahhhhhh....ok my imagination is going wild here. I have all sort of endings for them

That’ll work! That’s actually a good ending lol. I’m sure JK will find out by herself eventually that he’s the little boy, since SH had no intention of jolting her memory.

Omg, the ending of episode 14 makes me sad!:tears:.

    Spoiler

Ok that 2 year time jump ending of episode 14 is engineered to mess with our minds right? They want us to believe that JK is with SJ but I seriously don’t think so. Right right?? Anybody??

I just feel like that ending is so contrived. Like how the friends saying SJ should come and look after drunk JK (supposedly as her bf), and how drunk JK put her head on SJ’s shoulders and saying: “Ah, you came.”

I refuse to believe that SH and JK won’t end up together!

Actually also want to add that the previews like to mess with us. The preview for episode 14 wants us to believe that SH was jealous when SJ told him he wants to confess. Nothing of that sort. Also, SH saying he wants to break up is in a dream. So. I’m not gonna be misled this time. Something happened in the 2 years when SH was away in the US but I don’t think JK dated SJ during that time. We need to know what happened in that time and we can only wait till next week urgh :tears:

Same...I can’t afford to be depress for a whole week so I’m skipping it and will wait to binge those last three episodes together

I don’t have the determination to wait till next week lol. I can’t wait to see the beach date scenes already after watching episode 13. Though I truly believe our OTP will end up together after all. As many of you said, I don’t think they will set them up right from the first episode to have JK and SJ end up together in the end. Our OTP met as kids too! This is most definitely kdrama “destiny”, lol.

I feel bad for SH, he really likes JK a lot and she seems to be the one thing he can hold on but she is so clueless to the things around her so she kept pushing him farther away by her actions. Maybe SJ’s confession couple with a misunderstanding in tomorrow’s episode will be the last straw for him to let her go and start new again with his dad. Like all we see is him chasing after her and protecting her.

@pilucheI know. I feel so bad for SH too. He has done nothing but stand by her and love her. But I think JK’s issues with her own low self esteem are bigger than anything in her life now, Su Ho included. That’s why she kept pushing him away, didn’t even stop to think of him at all during the time she was avoiding everyone. Poor SH. :tears: He’s not first place in her heart.

I seriously really hate the “being selfless” trope I think they are going to pull on SH in the following episode. I feel like they will make SH be the selfless one and “give up” his own happiness because he “thinks” JK will be better off with SJ. SIGH SIGH SIGH
