On 25th of December 2016, GOT7’s member Jin Young received a question on his recent drama at ‘2016 SAF BOOM UP SHOW DAY4’ which was broadcast live on the South Korean news portal site Naver VLive App.Jin Young commented “The drama was titled 'Legend of the Blue Sea’. I have actually finished my shooting part on the drama, and i think my scenes part of the drama has been finished broadcasted.” for his part as the younger counter-part of the actor Lee Min Ho for his character as the genius con-artist Heo Jun Jae. “I am very honored to be casted and chosen for Lee Min Ho’s younger counterpart for he is such an amazing person, i am glad to able to take part as well~”.

“Legend of the Blue Sea” First Encounter to Blocking Kiss - Jeon Ji Hyun and Lee Min Ho’s Love Story - 26.12.2016

[TVReport = Reporter Shin Na Ra] SBS Wednesday-Thursday Drama “Legend of the Blue Sea” revealed their latest still cuts of their two leads Heo Jun Jae and Sim Chung couple from their first meeting to their kiss. Viewers are growing with excitement and suspicion as to whether the couple would be able to walk down the “Pink Pearl” (Love) road while all of the dangerous elements seems to be in front of the couple.

The latest still cuts from SBS Wednesday-Thursday Drama “Legend of the Blue Sea” are going back to the history of the mermaid Sim Chung (Jeon Ji Hyun) and Heo Jun Jae (Lee Min Ho), expecting the viewers to want pure happiness for the Heo Jun Jae and Sim Chung couple. After their meeting in Spain, Heo Jun Jae lost his memory due to the mermaid’s kiss. Meanwhile, the mermaid Sim Chung swam all the way to Seoul to meet Heo Jun Jae. However, let’s see everything about the couple from the moment of sadness, until the moment that viewers cheer on them and expect them to walk the pink pearl road.

◆First Meeting in Spain, meeting of the mermaid and the genius con-artist. start of a fate
In Spain, Heo Jun Jae and Sim Chung couple met each other and made their fate. As we perhaps remember, Heo Jun Jae met Sim Chung with a lot of cream on her mouth, ‘hanging’ on a clothes hanger. Heo Jun Jae thought that the mermaid perhaps have something really valuable on her hand and perhaps stealing, but later founnd out that it was only a cherry. He felt actually guilty when he reported her to the police. Without realizing it, Heo Jun Jae that has not been able to say anything and could not understand himself, he was actually flustered with the mermaid. A love story that happens once in a lifetime was made, even when Heo Jun Jae trying to assure himself that he was not in love with the mermaid.

◆ Memories erase, First Kiss under water
Heo Jun Jae, the con artist who became a runway fugitive in Spain is actually trying to get rid of Sim Chung by asking her to run away. However, Sim Chung stood by Heo Jun Jae until the end. When both of them reached the end of the cliff, Chung grabbed Jun Jae’s hand and jump. Heo Jun Jae then was surprised to find out that Sim Chung was a beautiful mermaid, revealed under the sea. Sim Chung then erased Heo Jun Jae’s memories with a kiss and saved his life. It was indeed a depressing moment when Sim Chung express her feelings to Heo Jun Jae after the kiss, and Heo Jun Jae loses his memory.

◆ The promise to meet in Seoul.
Sim Chung swam all the the from faraway Spain to Seoul, just to meet Jun Jae and to ask him to fulfill his promise. She remember Heo Jun Jae’s “Let’s meet in Seoul” promise that he made during their encounter in Seoul. After so many twist and turns, like a fate, Heo Jun Jae and Sim Chung meet again in aquarium in Seoul. Jun Jae then ended up bringing Sim Chung to his house, he lost his memories but not all of them were gone, and was particularly interested in Sim Chung. In contrast, Sim Chung was very honest regarding her feelings towards Heo Jun Jae, and Heo Jun Jae gradually open up to Sim Chung. Jun Jae tried to track whenever Sim Chung was not by his side, every step of the way and taking care of her. Viewers started to give nicknames to Heo Jun Jae who was cold on the outside but warm on the inside.

◆ Heo Jun Jae who planned to like Sim Chung, truth revealed
A mermaid doesn’t have unlimited time while they’re walking on dry land. Especially if the person they like did not like them back, their heart can stop beating. Sim Chung asked Heo Jun Jae with honesty and determination “When do you think you can like me?”, but the forever-cool Jun Jae replied that he never planned to like her. However, when Sim Chung notified Jun Jae that she had to go, Jun Jae caught her in time and acknowledge her feelings towards him. Viewers guessed that after Jun Jae started to recognized his feelings and started to develop deeper love for Sim Chung, it’s the turning point when he started to be able to hear Sim Chung’s inner-voice. Whatever crossed Sim Chung’s mind was able to be heard by Heo Jun Jae, revealing secrets such as Sim Chung’s identity as a mermaid that she has not revealed directly to Heo Jun Jae. The fact that Sim Chung was a mermaid and Heo Jun Jae was a con-artist has been revealed to each other, indirectly. However, when Sim Chung run away since she was hurt by the fact that Heo Jun Jae was a con artist and lied to her, they are in crisis again.

◆ Memories coming back, Truth revealed, Beginning of Love
As soon as Heo Jun Jae realized that Sim Chung was a mermaid, his lost memories came back like a magic. He remember their first kiss, and all of the events happened and shared between them in Spain, convinced that she was indeed a mermaid. Jun Jae had to deal with the fact that he was perhaps destined to love her both his previous life and present life, become more and more interested in her. Heo Jun Jae’s innocence came out and smile more often. He did not reveal yet to Sim Chung that he was able to hear her inner voice. He knew all of Sim Chung’s worries about him and tried to perhaps, sweetly trying to calm her down by giving her a sweet gentle kiss. It seems like they have confirmed each other’s feelings.

Despite all of the twist and turns, their meeting in Spain, crisis from the lost of memories until the confirmation of each other’s feelings. we can perhaps say that the bond between Heo Jun Jae and Sim Chung was very strong. It seems to be impossible to cut their bond, instead getting thicker and thicker. However, on the 11th episode, there was scene where the con-artist trio were talking about the mermaid’s fairy tale, in which Jun Jae was particularly concerned about. Heo Jun Jae was anxious and feeling uneasy when he knew that the mermaid on the original fairy tale was supposed to die. Viewers were also curious on the ending of Heo Jun Jae and Sim Chung’s love story as their story develop, especially on their future, hoping that their future will full of “Pink Pearls” that symbolizes the tears of mermaid’s when they are happy.
