"Gust" will be a political drama that will showcase the journey of a prime minister who will work as an acting president. The drama is set in the Blue House and National Assembly and it depicts the bare faces of people with desires.

Park Dong Ho (Seol Kyung Gu), the Prime Minister,  is determined to create a country w ithout crimes. He went through the legal profession and entered politics with the determination to create a country where there is no need to commit sins. He is a person who causes a 'blast' that shakes the world.

Jung Soo Jin (Kim Hee Ae) is the Deputy Prime Minister of the Economy and a party leader.

Han Seok Kyu and Kim Hee Ae are both in talks to lead the series "Whirlwind"

The upcoming drama "Whirlwind" (literal translation) will reportedly be led by top stars Han Seok Kyu and Kim Hee Ae. 

On August 31st, media outlets reported that both Han Seok Kyu and Kim Hee Ae got the offer to lead the upcoming drama "Whirlwind." The series will be the comeback project of writer Park Kyung Soo. 

Kim Hee Ae's agency YG Entertainment responded to the reports and stated that the new series is one of the works that the actress is currently reviewing. 

Meanwhile, Han Seok Kyu's side hasn't responded yet. 

"Whirlwind" will be a political drama that will showcase the journey of a prime minister who will work as an acting president. The drama is set in the Blue House and National Assembly.

This will be the first project of writer Park Kyung Soo after five years. He is known for the works "Punch," "Golden Empire," "The Chaser," and more. 

Han Seok Kyu got the offer to play the role of Park Dong Ho, the Prime Minister who is determined to create a country without crimes. 

Meanwhile, Kim Hee Ae received the offer to play the character named Jung Soo Jin. She is the Deputy Prime Minister of the Economy.

There are no official details yet on the broadcast channel and date of "Whirlwind." 

 

 

If Kim Hee Ae confirms her casting, this will be her second upcoming drama. The actress will first star in the 2023 series "Queen Maker" together with Moon So Ri, Ryu Soo Young, Kim Tae Hoon, Lee Kyung Young, and Jin Kyung.

Meanwhile, Han Seok Kyu is set to star in several dramas this year. He will lead the upcoming series "When the Day Breaks," "It May Be a Little Spicy Today," and the possible third installment "Dr. Romantic 3."

Kim Hee Ae is returning to a drama after 2 years of 'The World of the Married'. Her work chosen by Kim Hee Ae is the political drama 'Gust Of Wind' by Park Kyung Soo. On August 31st, Kim Hee Ae's agency, YG Entertainment announced, "We received an offer to appear in 'Gust Of Wind' and are considering it."

 

'Gust Of Wind' is the comeback work of star writer Park Kyung Soo after 5 years. Previously, writer Park built a strong fan base by writing 'Whisper', 'Punch', 'Empire of Gold' and 'The Chaser'. Directed by Kim Yong Wan of 'Method' and 'If You Say Your Wish'. 'Gust Of Wind' is a political drama about Prime Minister Park Dong Ho, who is acting as the president, and Kim Hee Ae was offered the role of Su Jin, the deputy prime minister of economy and party leader.

Currently, the production team is casting the main characters, including the main character Park Dong Ho, and plans to start filming for the first time in the second half of this year. Meanwhile, Kim Hee Ae finished filming the original Wavve movie 'Dead Man' in February, which will be released in the second half of the year.

Kim Hee Ae is best known for her leading roles in Korean dramas such as ‘Sons and Daughters’ (1992), ‘Perfect Love’ (2003), ‘My Husband's Woman’ (2007), ‘How Long I've Kissed’ (2012), ‘Secret Affair’ (2014), and ‘The World of the Married’ (2020). She has received multiple acting awards including two Daesang (Grand Prize) and four Best Actress Awards for Television at the Baeksang Arts Awards. Sol Kyung Gu receives offer to reunite with Kim Hee Ae in the drama "Whirlwind"

Sol Kyung Gu will possibly have his first-ever leading role in a drama.

Several media outlets reported on October 25th that Sol Kyung Gu will star in the upcoming drama "Whirlwind" together with Kim Hee Ae. The role he received was also offered to actor Han Seok Kyu.

If Sol Kyung Gu confirms his casting, this will be his first-ever starring role in a drama. The actor made his debut in the drama scene in 1999 in a supporting role. Since then, the actor has focused on starring in movies. This will be his first leading role in a drama after 30 years of debut. 

Aside from this, this will possibly be the next project of Kim Hee Ae and Sol Kyung Gu together. Just last month, reports stated that the movie "The Dinner " wherein Kim Hee Ae and Sol Kyung Gu will star in already finished filming. 

"Whirlwind" is scheduled to begin filming in the second half of this year. 

 

 

Actor Sol Kyung Gu's side responded to the casting reports. According to them, the actor is currently reviewing the offer to lead "Whirlwind."

Sol Kyung Gu is also set to star in several upcoming films such as "Heartbeat," "The Boys," "Kill Bok Soon," "The Dinner," and "Phantom." 

The actor made his acting debut in 1996. He is known for being part of the films "Peppermint Candy," "Public Enemy," "Oasis," "Jail Breakers," "Silmido," "Voice of a Murderer," "Tidal Wave," "Cold Eyes," "The Spy: Undercover Operation," "The Merciless," "1987: When The Day Comes," "The Book of Fish," and more. 

Sol Kyung Gu was also busy this year with the films "The Moon," "Kingmaker: The Fox of the Election," "Yaksha: Ruthless Operations," and "I Want to Know Your Parents."

The global OTT platform Netflix confirmed the production of the K-drama Whirlwind and announced casting the Kill Bok Soon actor Sol Kyung Gu and Queenmaker actress Kim Hee Ae for the series. 

Whirlwind is an upcoming Netflix series that tells the story of a prime minister who wants to root out corruption and the deputy minister of the economy who opposes him.

 

 

The role of Prime Minister Park Dong Ho, who plans to go up against the president of the country who colluded with a chaebol for personal benefit, is played by Sol Kyung Gu. 

Kim Hee Ae, who will be seen in the upcoming Netflix series Queenmaker, will play the role of the Deputy Prime Minister of Economy Jung Soo Jin, who lock horns with the prime minister. 

The veteran actor Sol Kyung Gu is one of the most prominent actors in the South Korean film industry, well known for his acting talents. Whirlwind will reportedly be the actor's first K-drama in 23 years. His last show was Happy Together, in which he was seen in a supporting role. And Kim Hee Ae is a well-established actress who has held roles in numerous K-dramas and movies. 

The screenwriter of Whirlwind is Park Kyung Soo; whose famous works include The Legend, The Chaser, Golden Empire, and Punch, to name a few.

Director Kim Yong Wan, who won the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Award for Content, is tasked with directing the drama. His famous works include The Cursed, If You Wish Upon Me, and Champion.
