SBS’s upcoming drama has revealed new stills of Namgoong Min and Park Jin Woo!

 

“One Dollar Lawyer” will star Namgoong Min as Cheon Ji Hoon, a lawyer who only charges an attorney’s fee of 1,000 won (approximately $0.75) despite his renowned skills. A hero who comes to the rescue of clients without money or connections, Cheon Ji Hoon isn’t afraid of facing off against the rich and powerful who use expensive lawyers to escape the law. Park Jin Woo will be playing Sa Moo Jang, a legal assistant who is the John Watson to Cheon Ji Hoon’s Sherlock Holmes.

 

In the still, Cheon Ji Hoon looks charismatic in a luxurious three-piece suit with his stylish permed hair, while Sa Moo Jang looks comfortable in a simple outfit, resembling a grumpy uncle in the neighborhood. The contrasting attires of these two characters are strangely harmonious. Moreover, they have the same facial expression and posture, which foreshadow their perfect chemistry as business partners.

SBS has unveiled a new teaser for their upcoming drama “One Dollar Lawyer”!

 

“One Dollar Lawyer” will star Namgoong Min as Cheon Ji Hoon, a lawyer who only charges an attorney’s fee of 1,000 won (approximately $0.75) despite his renowned skills. A hero who comes to the rescue of clients without money or connections, Cheon Ji Hoon isn’t afraid of facing off against the rich and powerful who use expensive lawyers to escape the law.

 

Kim Ji Eun stars as Baek Ma Ri who is in the last stages of training at the Judicial Research and Training Institute to become a prosecutor. She is from a “royal family” among judicial circles with superb qualifications and a splendid future set out for her. When the confident and arrogant Baek Ma Ri meets Cheon Ji Hoon, her smooth-sailing life gets turned upside down.

 

The teaser shares a hilarious preview of Cheon Ji Hoon and Baek Ma Ri’s quarrelsome chemistry. It opens up with Baek Ma Ri making a grand entrance as she struts down the path in a hot pink suit with a bold smile. However, her confidence quickly turns into disgust when she arrives at Cheon Ji Hoon’s messy office, and her grandfather Baek Hyun Mu (Lee Deok Hwa) warns in a voiceover, “If you can’t last two months there, don’t even bother coming to Baek Law Firm.

”

Baek Ma Ri thinks Cheon Ji Hoon is an oddball as she finds him hiding behind his desk when she comes in. Furthermore, he playfully wonders if he should let her serve as a probationary judicial officer at his law firm and randomly bursts into laughter.

 

Baek Ma Ri asks in outrage, “No matter how bad things in this industry are, lawyers should have some dignity. Why are there so many strange lawyers nowadays?” Cheon Ji Hoon may be odd, but he’s a genius lawyer who never backs from a case. The clip ends with Cheon Ji Hoon provoking her, saying, “Tell me if you can’t do it,” and Baek Ma Ri retorts, “Do you think I won’t be able to do it? I’ll endure two months, no matter what.”

Another one of Namgoong Min’s former co-stars will be in “One Dollar Lawyer”!

“One Dollar Lawyer” will star Namgoong Min as Cheon Ji Hoon, a lawyer who only charges an attorney’s fee of 1,000 won (approximately $0.75) despite his renowned skills. A hero who comes to the rescue of clients without money or connections, Cheon Ji Hoon isn’t afraid of facing off against the rich and powerful who use expensive lawyers to escape the law.

Namgoong Min is working with “The Veil” co-star Kim Ji Eun in this drama, and on September 6, it was confirmed that his “Awaken” co-star Lee Chung Ah will also be starring in it.

In “One Dollar Lawyer,” Lee Chung Ah will be taking on the role of Lee Joo Young, an ace lawyer at Baek Law Firm who is filled with a sense of justice. She sides with the weak and believes that those who do wrong must pay for their crimes under the law.

“Awaken” is a murder mystery drama that follows the connections between mysterious events unfolding in the present and the secrets behind an enigmatic incident that took place in a village 28 years ago. Lee Chung Ah plays Jamie, an FBI detective who returns to the land of her birth after being adopted as a child, and Namgoong Min stars as Do Jung Woo, the team leader of a special task force at the National Police Agency.

In “One Dollar Lawyer,” the two actors will reunite as lawyers, and fans are anticipating what kind of synergy they will showcase this time.

Second teaser trailer added for SBS drama series “One Dollar Lawyer” starring Namkoong Min & Kim Ji-Eun. The teaser trailer shows how Baek Ma-Ri (Kim Ji-Eun) ends up working for Lawyer Cheon Ji-Hun (Namkoong Min). Baek Ma-Ri is the granddaughter of Lawyer Baek Hyun-Mu (Lee Deok-Hwa), who founded powerful Baek Law Firm. She is set to begin working as an intern at her grandfather’s law firm, but he lays out one condition for her to work at his company. Baek Ma-Ri must first work with Lawyer Cheon Ji-Hun for 2 months. I'm confused of the number of eps. The next drama was announced to air Nov 11, which means this drama won't be 16 eps. And yet its unusual for K Drama to have 14 eps, and if they want to have 1 week of empty slot between 2 dramas, this kind of genre doesn't seem to be enough with just 12 eps length neither.

Upcoming SBS drama “One Dollar Lawyer” has released a group poster!

“One Dollar Lawyer” will star Namgoong Min as Cheon Ji Hoon, a lawyer who only charges an attorney’s fee of 1,000 won (approximately $0.75) despite his renowned skills. A hero who comes to the rescue of clients without money or connections, Cheon Ji Hoon isn’t afraid of facing off against the rich and powerful who use expensive lawyers to escape the law.

Kim Ji Eun takes on the role of Baek Ma Ri who is in the last stages of training at the Judicial Research and Training Institute to become a prosecutor. She is from a “royal family” among judicial circles with superb qualifications and a splendid future set out for her.

Park Jin Woo plays Sa Moo Jang, a legal assistant who is the John Watson to Cheon Ji Hoon’s Sherlock Holmes. Choi Dae Hoon portrays prosecutor Seo Min Hyuk who is also from the judicial circles’ royal family.

The newly released poster wittily pays a homage to the famous painting “Liberty Leading the People.” The four characters are standing majestically over a mountain of gold bars and 50,000 won (approximately $36.07) bills. Cheon Ji Hoon, who stands at the very top, catches drama fans’ attention with his flag that is the 1,000 won bill. Just like the “goddess of liberty” that led the July Revolution in France in 1830, he will create a world where people will be able to afford a lawyer at a reasonable rate.

Beside him, Baek Ma Ri exudes chic composure with her hot pink suit, but Sa Moo Jang looks anxious as he holds an abacus in his hand. On the other side is Seo Min Hyuk, who displays a puzzled and bewildered expression that sharply contrasts with his solemn robe.

Interning for a crazy One Dollar Attorney in new teaser for SBS’s legal comedy

Yahoo, this is looking more fun by the second! SBS’s upcoming drama One Dollar Attorney has released its second teaser and it gives off even more playful vibes. It also makes me do a double-take to see Namgoong Min and Kim Ji-eun — recently seen in The Veil as buff international spy and scrawny intelligence agent — now transmogrified as wackadoo attorney and intern, respectively.

The drama follows Cheon Ji-hoon (Namgoong Min), a talented lawyer who defends the oppressed and only charges them 1,000 won (roughly $1 USD). The first teaser set him up as a Batman sort of hero, but now we get more insight into the story and how it connects to our heroine.

The new teaser opens with hotshot lawyer Baek Mari (Kim Ji-eun) sashaying down the road as she heads off to her internship in a flashy magenta pantsuit. An angry patriarchal voiceover informs us that she has to last two months at said internship before she can work at Baek Law Firm. She seems confident at first — but not after she sees the filthy office and Attorney Ji-hoon hiding from her behind his desk.

When he realizes she’s there to intern, he teases her relentlessly and acts so madcap that it’s hard for her to take him seriously as a professional. Indeed, we are treated to a montage of him and his colleague (played by Park Jin-woo) acting so weird that Mari wonders: there’s something I need to learn from this pathetic attorney?!

We see more cuts of the two generally butting heads, and the teaser comes to a close with a hilarious face-off. We hear Ji-hoon say in voiceover that she should tell him if she can’t handle it, while Mari responds, “You think I can’t do it?”

I am loving how the story puts our leads at odds — but also on the same side — and it should make for a lot of fun. Namgoong Min is clearly going to be comedic gold, and I have a feeling he will be able to draw it out of Kim Ji-eun as well. At least, the teaser got my hopes up.

Written by Choi Soo-jin and Choi Chang-hwan (Heart Surgeons, Defendant) and directed by Kim Jae-hyun, One Dollar Lawyer premieres September 23 in the Friday-Saturday slot on SBS.

In the teaser, Cheon Ji Hoon approaches a client and comments, “I’m here because I heard you were having such a hard time that you could die.” The man hesitantly asks, “Is your fee really…” and Cheon Ji Hoon interjects, “That’s right. 1,000 won.”

 

Someone else explains, “According to lawyer Cheon, a lawyer fights on behalf of their client.” Cheon Ji Hoon adds, “Isn’t that why lawyers exist?”

Starring Kim Rae Won, Son Ho Jun, and Gong Seung Yeon, “The Police Station Next to the Fire Station” (literal translation) tells the story of the joint response from the police, who capture criminals, and the fire fighters, who put out fires. The drama highlights the teamwork of the first responders who live to save the lives of others.

 

The teaser draws out how the police and the fire fighters cooperate and the hurdles they run into along the way. Kim Rae Won states, “Fire fighter, let’s do that thing you guys hate.” Gong Seung Yeon calls out, “Then what about the people inside?” Son Ho Jun angrily yells, “I’m telling you, we can’t because it’s dangerous!”

 

Son Ho Jun adds, “If there’s a fire, the police also have to be saved by fire fighters to live. Do you know that?” Kim Rae Won replies, “If a fire fighter commits a crime, they have to be saved by cops to live.” Gong Seung Yeon settles the argument as she remarks, “If you both get hurt, I’d have to do first aid treatment for you to live.”

 

“The Police Station Next to the Fire Station” premieres this November!

 

“Trolley” (literal title) is a mystery drama following the happenings that unfold when secrets come to light about the wife of an incredibly private congressman. The drama will capture the confusion and conflict each character experiences when faced with the secrets of their loved ones, the life everyone dreams of, and options that have no correct answer.

 

The drama stars Kim Hyun Joo as Kim Hye Joo and Park Hee Soon as her husband Nam Joong Do. In the teaser, scenes flash by of the once happy relationship turning sour as Kim Hye Joo comments, “There are things that nobody even imagines happening. At times, things that had to happen, although no one intended for it. We call those disasters.”

 

“Trolley” is set to premiere in December!

 

“Cheer Up” (literal title) is a new campus mystery rom-com about a college cheer squad whose glory days are long gone and is now on the verge of falling apart. The exciting cast lineup includes Han Ji Hyun, Bae In Hyuk, Kim Hyun Jin, Jang Gyuri, Lee Eun Saem, and more who will play members of Yeonhee University’s cheer team.

Kim Ji Eun will be starring in the drama as Baek Ma Ri, who hails from a “royal family” among judicial circles and is in the final stages of training to become a prosecutor.
