The bonding moments between Yeon and Rang, however, are also fuel for Moo-young’s hatred. Their brotherly love serves as a reminder of Moo-young’s deceased older brother, and although the exact circumstances are still murky, Moo-young holds Yeon accountable for his brother’s death. And when it comes to enacting his revenge, Moo-young can’t simply kill Yeon and find closure. No, like a proper villain, he must ensure Yeon feels the same pain he felt when he lost his own beloved sibling.

This reminds me...In India we call brother a Bhai...

for Moo Young...Eye for an Eye is Bhai for a Bhai , thats why he attacked Rang lol..

Lee Yeon said the same. He will not forget and take revenge on everyone who hurt his brother. Let see why Lee yeon kill his brother. He had a reason, I guess. From what I see Mu young is hurt because Lee yeon was his friend. He is longing after their friendship.

‘Tale of a Nine Tailed Fox 1938’ Han Geon-yu keeps looking at me

news-p.v1.20230518.550bc4a0fd504ee9a7737

Han Geon-yu, who is appearing in tvN's Saturday and Sunday drama 'The Tale of a Gumiho 1938', captivated the audience with his warm visuals, physicality, and stable acting skills that increased the level of immersion in the play.

He leaves a strong impression as Yoo Jae-yu, a loyalist who reliably protects Hong-joo Ryu (played by Kim So-yeon) in the play. Based on the character's description that he has no interests other than protecting Ryu Hong-joo, Han Geon Yu succeeds in creating a steadfast Yoo Jae-yoo with his own personality.

No matter what happens, Yoo Jae-yoo's gaze remains fixed on Ryu Hong-ju, and his martial arts prowess allows him to defeat many enemies in one fell swoop, exuding a dashing yet charismatic charm that makes women fall in love with him. In particular, he is the epitome of "alsaljakkalsen" (short for "neat and tidy and sensible"), as he is the first to notice what Ryu Hong Joo wants and is quick to act on it.

Han Geon-yu aroused viewers' curiosity just by standing behind Kim So-yeon. He has been acting in the past without being limited to a specific genre or character. Starting with the drama ‘Defendant’, he has expanded his acting spectrum by appearing in a number of works such as ‘Only One Person’, web drama ‘Number Girl Gye Sook-ja’, and ‘One Bite Season 2’.

As if these efforts shined, he showed a customized hot performance in ‘The Tale of a Nine Tailed Fox 1938’, his first period drama after his debut. This made viewers fix their eyes on the screen. In addition to his excellent acting skills, he even announced the birth of a more attractive character by adding a tall mask.

With such excellent acting skills and visuals, Han Geon-yu emerged as the hidden dark horse of ‘The Tale of a Nine Tailed Fox 1938’. Expectations are rising for his full-fledged performance to be drawn in the remaining stories.

TVN 'The Tale of a Gumiho 1938' starring Han Gun-yu, Lee Dong-wook, Kim So-yeon, and Kim Bum is broadcast every Saturday and Sunday at 9:20 pm.

Woo Hyun Jin Affectionately Tries To Warm Kim Bum’s Heart In “Tale Of The Nine-Tailed 1938”

Woo Hyun Jin Affectionately Tries To Warm Kim Bum’s Heart In “Tale Of The Nine-Tailed 1938”

Get ready for Kim Bum’s heart-fluttering love story in “Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938”!

“Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938” is a sequel to the hit 2020 drama “Tale of the Nine-Tailed,” which told the story of the male gumiho (mythical nine-tailed fox) Yi Yeon (Lee Dong Wook) in the present day. However, in the new sequel, he unexpectedly finds himself back in 1938, and he embarks on an eventful adventure in his quest to return to the present.

On May 18, tvN unveiled fairytale-like stills of Yi Rang (Kim Bum), a half-gumiho and Yi Yeon’s half-brother, with mermaid Jang Yeo Hee (Woo Hyun Jin). As each other’s lifesavers, curiosity is rising to see how their relationship will progress.

Spoilers

After his older brother Yi Yeon got mysteriously sent to the year 1938, Yi Rang found a way to follow him back and ended up almost sacrificing his life for him. In order to trap Yi Yeon in the past, the red-and-white masked man (Ryu Kyung Soo) planned to attack Yi Rang, who he knows is most precious to his brother. The person who saved his life in this desperate situation was mermaid Jang Yeo Hee, who sensed that Yi Rang was in danger through the scales he gifted her the last time she helped him. As Yi Rang is someone who must return a favor and Jang Yeo Hee is desperate for love, what changes are to come in their bond?

The latest stills capture romantic moments between Yi Rang and Jang Yeo Hee. The first photo depicts the pair’s sweet eye contact after Yi Rang regains his senses and finds himself in Jang Yeo Hee’s arms.

In the next set of photos, Yi Rang and Jang Yeo Hee are on an adorable horseback riding date. To repay her for saving his life, Yi Rang decides to fulfill one of Jang Yeo Hee’s wishes and she romantically explains that she wants to experience love.

Although Jang Yeo Hee envisioned a sweet horseback riding date, things do not go as planned as she quickly realizes that Yi Rang is not the romantic type and knows very little about love. When Jang Yeo Hee asks Yi Rang for a riding lesson, he hilariously surprises her with his competitive attitude, as if trying to train her for a professional competition.

As a half-human and half-gumiho, Yi Rang grew up being treated as a monster by his own mother. After he learned that Jang Yeo Hee is also half-human and half-mermaid, he acted cold towards her and kept his distance, even telling her to go back to the ocean as there was no space for someone like her on land.

Stay tuned to find out whether Jang Yeo Hee’s active and open expressions of love and affection will be enough to bring down the walls Yi Rang has put up, and to see how their relationship changes as they share their pains and gradually grow closer.

The producers of “Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938” remarked, “Yi Rang’s random but cute romance is officially starting. The special relationship and narrative between the two will add excitement and fun [to the drama].”

Episode 5 of “Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938” will air on May 20 at 9:20 p.m. KST.

Get ready for an epic face-off between Lee Dong Wook and Ha Do Kwon on the next episode of tvN’s “Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938”!

Spoilers

In the previous episode, Yi Yeon unexpectedly found an abandoned baby on the front steps of Myoyeongak. Fully knowing he could not take responsibility for the baby’s future, Yi Yeon decided to drop the baby off at someone else’s doorstep. However, no matter how much he tried, the baby keeps magically showing up at their gate. Later, when he observed the baby, he noticed that the marks on the baby’s forehead were actually the Big Dipper constellation. Not too long after Yi Yeon realized the baby was no ordinary infant, police showed up and ordered Yi Yeon to hand the baby over. It turns out it’s the demand of the God who was currently imprisoned by Ryuhei Kato (Ha Do Kwon), the director of the Government-General’s police department.

The latest stills capture Yi Yeon’s eventual face-off against Ryuhei Kato over the mysterious baby. Even just by brushing past him, Yi Yeon is quick to sense that his opponent has extraordinary power and stopped in his tracks. The same can be said about Ryuhei Kato, who despite having brutal power evident by when he punished his subordinate Akira Saito (Lim Ji Ho) in the previous episodes, also looks somewhat startled when he senses Yi Yeon’s power. Soon, the two engage in an intense war of nerves as they both draw their swords against each other.

'The Tale of a Nine Tailed Fox 1938' Lee Dong-wook, the reason for his emergency landing during the Japanese colonial period... Because of Ryu Kyung-soo

image_readtop_2023_369891_16841094025469

'The Tale of a Nine Tailed Fox 1938' Lee Dong-wook found out the secret trapped in 1938.

In the 4th episode of tvN's Saturday and Sunday drama 'The Tale of a Gumiho' (directed by Kang Shin-hyo, written by Han Woo-ri), which aired on the 14th, the reason why Lee Yeon (played by Lee Dong-wook) made an emergency landing in 1938 was revealed. Cheon Moo-yeong (played by Ryu Gyeong-soo) in a red-and-white mask came to the past with Lee Yeon to get her hands on a legendary treasure that only exists in this era. Cheon Moo-young, who aimed a blade of revenge at Yi-yeon to save his brother's life, and Ryu Hong-ju (Kim So-yeon), who said that she would not just watch the fight between the two friends, and Ryu Hong-ju, who faced Lee Yeon in 1938, made the future development even more curious.

On this day, Lee Yeon planned a head-to-head match with Hongbaek Mask. Lee Yeon hears a rumor from the pirate bandit's assistant manager (Cho Dal-hwan) that Hong and Baek Tal are robbing the houses of the 7 major gold mining conglomerates. The strange thing was that he was only aiming for 'luxury', not money. With only the house of ‘King of Gold Mine’ Seon Woo-chan (played by Lee Jae-yong) remaining, Lee Yeon decided to find the treasure chest of the house before Hongbaek Tal and confront it.

As expected, Hongbaektal pursued Lee Yeon, aiming for a treasure chest. After a tense confrontation, the moment he tried to find out his identity, the red and white mask disappeared among people wearing the same mask as himself. But the luxury was a trick. It was because Lee Yeon, who foresaw one move ahead, switched. In the treasure chest Hongbaektal took, there was only the taffy that Yiyeon ate. And Yiyeon knew that what Hongbaektal was looking for was ‘Geumcheok’. He is a standard made of gold that can even bring the dead back to life. Since it was an object that disappeared after the Japanese colonial period, he ventured on time travel and realized that he had come to the 'past' with him.

Strange things kept coming to Lee Yeon. Meeting a strange 'up-doungi'. Yi-yeon, who found a newborn child abandoned in front of Myo-yeon-gak, decided to send her to a house with better parents because she couldn't take responsibility for the future. But strangely, she is a child who keeps coming back to Myoyeongak. Goo Shin-joo (played by Hwang Hee), who has a lot of affection, persuades Rang (played by Kim Bum) to name the child ‘Miho’. At that time, the Jongno Police Station was also looking for Miho with a huge reward. It was because there was a request from a man called 'Up God' who appeared wherever the gold mine exploded. Curiosity was focused on the identity of the child that Lee Yeon took care of with utmost sincerity.

Ryu Hong-ju sensed something strange about Lee Yeon and Cheon Moo-yeong. She realizes that the friends she used to know are not the same. Ryu Hong-ju headed to Gunsan, where Lee Yeon's sightings had been heard. There, Ryu Hong-joo, who heard that Li-yeon was addicted to her opium, decided to try a test. However, Lee Yeon was not shaken at all. Accordingly, Ryu Hong-ju decided to meet Yi-yeon in person in Manchuria. And Ryu Hong-ju, who witnessed Yi-yeon in Manchuria in 1938, moaning intoxicated with his opium. After learning that there are two Yiyeons in this era, attention is focused on what variables she will act on.

A new relationship came to Lee Rang as well. Lee Rang, who owes her life to the half-baked mermaid Jang Yeo-hee (played by Woo Hyun-jin), decides to grant his wish to repay her favor. Falling in love with Lee Rang, Jang Yeo-hee used her wish as an excuse to ask her out on a date. However, Lee Rang, who had no way of knowing this, laughed at the harsh Spartan education at the request to teach her horseback riding.

The 4th episode recorded an average of 7.6% and a maximum of 9.0% for households in the metropolitan area, and an average of 6.7% and a maximum of 7.8% for households nationwide, ranking first in the same time slot including cable and comprehensive channels. In terms of viewer ratings for men and women 20-49, which is the target of tvN, it achieved an average of 3.6% and a maximum of 4.5% in the metropolitan area and an average of 3.7% and a maximum of 4.3% in the national standard, ranking first in all channels including terrestrial waves. (Based on Nielsen Korea paid platform)

'The Tale of a Nine Tailed Fox 1938' Jeong Su-gyo plays an active role as the representative villain of the Gyeongseong era

202305160831779730_6462c1384fdf2.jpg

OSEN=Reporter Jang Woo-young] Actor Jeong Su-gyo is active as a villain in the 1938 Gyeongseong era.

In 'The Tale of a Nine Tailed Fox 1938', Jeong Jeong-gyo played the role of the villainous Korean detective Jeong Dae-seung (hereinafter referred to as Detective Jeong) at the Jongno Police Station, completely immersed in herself and exuding a strong presence from the first episode.

Previously, in the first broadcast, Detective Jeong appeared frantic to catch a suspect in a bombing attack against the commander of the Joseon Army by Seonwoo Eun-ho (Kim Yong-ji), an independence activist who hid his identity at Gyeongseong Station. While chasing Eun-ho while shooting furiously, a drunk Cheon Moo-yeong (Ryu Gyeong-soo) suddenly appears and sets the detectives on fire.

Soon after, Detective Jeong ran into Eun-ho again on the street, grabbed her by the collar, smiled sadly and said, "You're the girl from before, right?" When Eun-ho said she didn't look at people well, he slapped her on the face and asked, "The important thing is not you, but who I am, 'Jeong Dae-seung as a servant'. How do I deal with people like you?" I will cut it off,” he replied.

Detective Jeong proudly said, “He was even awarded a medal for being good at torture. Just as he was about to take off his clothes to check Eun-ho for the gunshot wound in his shoulder, Gato Ryuhei (Ha Do-kwon), the head of the police department of the Japanese Government-General of Korea, appears and confirms Seon-woo's identity.

Also, in the last 4 episodes, he became a limb to Kato Ryuhei before he knew it, and he tortured and threatened, saying, "What I do best is to cut off the tendons of guys like you," but he does not open his mouth.

When Detective Jeong asked him to tell him what he wanted, Upsin replied that he should find the child. Detective Jeong started looking for the child by putting up a poster saying that if they find the child, they will pay for a house.

On the other hand, the secret meeting between Detective Jung and Maehwa (Kim Joo-young) of Myoyeongak was caught on a dark night, raising tension. Then, Detective Jung, who appeared in front of Lee Yeon, who became the child's polar protector in a peaceful landscape, with an arrogant expression, told her to release the child, and took the Myoyeongak gisaengs as hostages and threatened them, but the ending ended with Lee Yeon and Lee Rang brothers helplessly suppressing them.

In this way, Jeong Jeong-gyo is infinitely lowered in front of power and perfectly transforms into detective Jeong Dae-seung, who mercilessly deals with the weak with a handful of power, raising tension with each appearance with his immersive acting skills.

In addition, while demonstrating detailed expressive power equipped with cold, sharp eyes and a cool smile, he is making a big success as a villain in the play, and curiosity about the hidden secret of his secret meeting with plum blossoms and the evil deeds to be added in the future is gathering.

The baby is so cute. I read that Mi Ho is a boy but he played a baby girl in the drama.

After filming the thin rock scene where Miho's knuckles were cute, I took a picture with actor Jo Dal-hwan . For Miho, he's not a scary bandit, but a very, very good uncle . It's a scene with a lot of people, so it's kind of thoughtful to take care of it in case you're surprised.

Kim Bum "I am also a big fan of 'The Tale of a Nine Tailed Fox'... Help me when I lose interest in acting" [Pictorial]

Actor Kim Bum, who plays the main role in the vN Saturday drama 'The Tale of a Nine Tailed Fox 1938', released a pictorial in which various atmospheres coexist through the June issue of Cosmopolitan.

In an interview following the photoshoot, Beom Kim talked about his recent situation, "I'm just waiting for the first episode of 'The Tale of a Nine Tailed Fox 1938'. I am also a big fan of 'The Tale of a Gumiho', so I am waiting for the airing while reviewing season 1. (Omitted) Originally, I couldn’t see the works I appeared in, but I think I’ve already run through ‘The Tale of a Nine Tailed Fox’ more than five times.”

He also mentioned the romance of 'Rang', which was foretold in 'The Tale of a Nine Tailed Fox 1938'. “The mermaids ‘Jang Yeo-hee’ (Woo Hyun-jin) and ‘Rang Lee’ have something in common in that they are half-human and half-beast. So, I wonder if they felt a sense of kinship with each other. It's the first time I've felt love for 'Rang', so I try to deny it, and I feel awkward and clumsy.

In addition, Kim Bum said about the absence of 'melo' acting in his filmography so far, "The fans were waiting for (melo) a lot. (Laughs) The genre of this drama is not melodrama, but the part I'm in charge has enough melodrama color." he hinted.

At the same time, he said, “I think acting is a joy and sorrow for me. There were times when I was very happy, and there were times when I was sad and hurt. When I was young, it was a bit difficult to have to act regardless of my feelings. For example, when I have to act funny even though I have a hard time personally. I couldn't tell the difference between public and private, but as time passed, I learned and became dull. At a time when acting, which I loved the most in my life, felt like work and I was losing interest, the work that saved me was 'The Tale of a Nine Tailed Fox', so it's also the work I'm most attached to."

Not only that, but Kim Beom said, “If ‘The Tale of a Nine Tailed’ was like ‘Iron Man’, then ‘The Tale of a Nine Tailed 1938’ is like ‘Avengers’. Three mountain gods with superpowers come out and gather their strength to defeat the public enemy,” he said. I like the Marvel series so much that I even watched all of the ‘Loki’ series that were only released on Disney Plus.”

Meanwhile, 'The Tale of a Nine Tailed 1938' is a K-fantasy action drama about Lee Yeon, a nine-tailed fox who made an emergency landing in the chaotic era of 1938 to return to the modern age. It is broadcast every Saturday and Sunday at 9:20 pm.

'The Tale of a Gumiho 1938' Lee Dong-wook goes on an operation to rescue a child. The production team revealed the appearance of Lee Yeon (Lee Dong-wook), who ventured to infiltrate the Jongno Police Station.

In the last broadcast, the Gumiho brothers' upbringing brought laughter. Lee yeon, who found a newborn baby abandoned in front of Myoyeongak, decided to send it to a house with better parents. Strangely, however, the child kept returning to Myoyungak. The affectionate Goo Shin-joo (played by Hwang Hee) persuaded  Lee Rang (played by Kim Bum) to name her child ‘Miho’. The Jongno Police Station also started looking for a child with the Big Dipper engraved on his forehead, and soon detectives came to Myoyeongak.

In the meantime, it is heartwarming to seeLee yeon taking care of Miho in the published photos. Yi-yeon also vaguely felt Mi-ho's strange power, but through Rang, she learned about the child's ability to be chubby. As if waking up a peaceful daily life, Myoyeongak is turned upside down in the middle of the night with commotion. From the angry Lee Yeon, Gu Shin-joo, and the Myo Yeon-gak family members who don't know what to do, we can guess that this is not an ordinary event.

We can also see Lee Yeon and Goo Shin-joo infiltrating the Jongno Police Station. He managed to enter the Jongno Police Station in order to find Miho, but his pupils are shaking as he is in danger of being discovered. On the other hand, the frightened face of Gu Shin-joo, who entrusted his hair to Lee Yeon with scissors, causes laughter. Attention is focusing on whether the infiltration of those who cannot be vigilant for a moment will succeed.

The production crew said, “The identity of the up-and-coming boy is finally revealed. Lee Yeon, Ryu Hong-joo (played by Kim So-yeon), and Lee Rang, who put their heads together to protect the children as well as everyone, will unfold dynamically.”
