[Drama 2016] Age of Youth 청춘시대

I'm glad the ratings are picking up :) Thanks to dramabeans I was able to pick this drama up, was hesitating for quite a while since there's been so many disappointing or sub par dramas on friendships between women.

Eps 7 & 8 were such a huge roller coaster ride of emotions. I was so happy for eun jae and her sunbae, I SHIP THEM SO HARD OMGGGG the kiss was so iconic :') But at the same time i feel pretty sad for Yoon sunbae.... its so saddening Yoon sunbae has to endure all the ostracising, her family condition and that creepy manager she has ugh x.x Ye Eun is annoying sometimes but her relationship with her horrible bf is very realistic. im glad they broke up...i wonder if her bf will change for the better & come back to her though. And Kang sunbae is so cool. Im liking her personality more and more :') that moment when she rescued ye eun in ep 8 was just B)  real sisterhood right there. Song Ji won is also really funny, her loud personality is very interesting haha. Really hoping the drama will show more of her story as well haha

Tbh this is one of those rare few kdramas that seem to be perfect in every way: the cast, the characters, the storyline, everything is so good! And the OST MUSIC TOO does anyone know what the songs are? I like them a lot :3

The lack of Ji Won on the last 2 episodes kinda pisses me off since I'm looking forward to her story the most, but I guess it seems to be done on purpose since she seems to hide the biggest secret. I wonder how her romance with Sung Min will develop. I'm also curious how Yi Na - Dong Joo relationship will develop too.

Anyway it's good that finally Ye Eun broke up with that boyfriend. He doesn't deserve her and has been taking YE for granted and didn't care for her at all since the beginning.

Such a small community! I'm actually surprised this doesn't have 10 pages yet.. haha!

This will be one of the dramas that will make one feel rewarded (?) that they know it and have watched it and that they (feel like they) grew up with these girls as they mature and unravel life and love in the 12 episodes :D

Don't you feel like that? hahaha!

Anyhoo, I'm kinda sad there's no team working on the BTS huhu! Me and my friend are more than happy to be timers and typesetters (but only after our main fandom duties hahahahaha!) so if anyone wants to be this fandom's hero, just pm me! <3

I just  caught up to this drama early this morning. I wanted to go to sleep but I had finish the next episode. This is pretty much everything I want in a drama. It's relatable. The characters all have their own personalities. I'm kind of sad that is only 12 episodes but I'm going to enjoy every second of it. Im already excited for the next episode

I know, it's so sad :( it's still on pg 5. I really hope AOY reaches past the 2% mark at least, people are starting to watch it ><

I agree, more of Ji Won :) I need to see her story - even if there's no dark past. hehe some Ji Won x Sung Min interaction would be nice :D

Not sure if I misheard but did she kind of sneakily mentioned she had an older sister who was intelligent & pretty? or was that referring to Ye Eun?

I really liked this drama premise when I started reading casting info and all. Five college girl with different character living together? Oh I thought I could relate in some way since I've experienced that on my college days. But then it come out at the time when bunch of drama is coming out too and it fly out of my radar.

after one drama ends and because olympic is emptying some dramas, I found time to check this drama and I really regret not checking it sooner. I like the way the story told and I enjoy the settings. Each char has its own charm. Each of them take turns on annoy me but they win me over again right away.

off to watch ep 5! Happy watching :D

I just don't feel like commenting on this forum anymore. Last week i made 3 posts of interviews and that's it.

As for thread - A thread with proper discussion and useful information is far better than any other pics-spam tumblr posts. So i highly value 6 pages of valuable content than 500+pages of spam.

Recap from Dramabeans

http://www.dramabeans.com/2016/08/age-of-youth-episode-7/

There’s not a dull moment in sight for our five housemates, especially with romance blossoming, secrets being revealed, and roommate bonding happening at all hours of the night. This episode offers fewer laugh-out-loud moments compared to the last two, but there’s a lot to digest as the story zips right along for most of our heroines (except for Ji-won, as usual.) My favorite moments continue to be the deepening friendships between our girls, though of course, it never hurts to add a dash of swoon-worthy boys into the mix.

EPISODE 7: “I’m someone who shouldn’t be happy #sleep paralysis”

Plot, characters, couples, romance, wit,  I can say more, and this series rock it all. I can't believe I will like this much because I just accidentally click the reviews, I don't have any idea on this drama or it didn't catch my attention on the news, and I'm really glad I give it a try, worth it! I just finish the 8th episode in 1 day, no sleep huh!

I love all the characters, their individually, their Angts, it reminds me of my college days and boarding house days, I love their romance, it's all fluttering, when I watch each episode I was like " oh I love this couple!" And then another episode " oh they are cute" every episode make my heart hurt and happy so I will not say who's my favorite, I just love all of them! And I'm really looking for this one, hopefully the rating will go high before it will end, I'm so sad when I heard it just 12 episodes. I'm sad

I am out of my little down mood and have a discussion with my fellow viewers.

We are a minority here but on streaming sites each and every episodes generate good number of comments. Most of active visitors of dramabeans are watching it too. So it might be less talked but the show has created its own Loyal Audience. This has become a niche tv show now.

Thanks @badsmuler @kasjady @qiets for ratings+links+video

@conankung Thanks for the Preview. Seems like Ye Eun will make us all smile and cry at the same time.

@EMM! most of the discussion and analysis is on dramabeans. It seems like most members are into popular shows and i have seen JTBC's dramas do generate the type of buzz TVN's dramas does. Marketing all the way.

Episode 07 and 08 truly a decent roller coaster ride. Cute Eun Jae and Jong Yeol. That "I like You" was hilarious and all the thoughts of it being a prank were also realstic and showed the fears of shy yet strong Eun Jae. It was also good to see Eun Jae voicing these concerns to Oppa in episode 08. Eun Jae like all other girls hide a big secret that actually financially helped the mother. Also mother looks emotionally weak and immature. Jong Yeol's sly smiles make it all for me.

Min Jyung enduring and tolerating the sexual harassment was painful to see. But at last Min Jyung stood up and gave he creepy manager the right answer. Let's see if it was Yi-Na then Yi-Na would have put that creepy manager into his place. It was really heartwarming to see all girls standing up for Min Jyung in the convenience store and same in episode 08 when Eun Jae screamed and Oppa Jong Yeol was beaten by the girls. Tired girls returning home in the morning and happily walking was another good Bonding moment of the show.

Girls giving advice to Eun Jae on love showed different views of girls on Love and relationships.

Yi Na and Ye Eun and Jin Myung struggle is true and realistic. We all know girls and women get into wrong relationships all the time and that's the case with Ye Eun but slowly-slowly Ye Eun is coming out of it and I liked when Ye Eun broke with that boyfriend.

Yi Na saving and talking and kind of Consoling Ye Eun was another emotional moment. Ye Eun could bear indifference of Boyfriend but couldn't accept the Cheating and build all the courage and tried to moved on and the way all the girls hugged and consoled Ye Eun made it all real.

Notice from Episode 6 last few minutes to episode 8, Now Jin Myung has more screentime with all the girls. So it feels good that Jin Myung is more mingling with girls and even depending upon them.

Jong Gyu has suffered a lot and wants some answer but at the same time dangerous.

But this allows Yi Na to face the moral troubles and moral dilemma now. This is the time for Yi Na to grow now and face the reality and work upon the character and now only appreciates other girls who still hold those values.

Yi Na is fond and protective of the girls whom Yi Na has build a bond. It is pretty evident from 1st few episodes and in episode 8 by saving Ye Eun from that situation proves that again.

Ji Won the love life of the house has less screentime in these episodes but whatever Time Ji Won was on screen it was awesome. From Porn to talking about self-esteem.

Ji Won is Ji Won and like everyone else i also want to know more about Ji Won. But i think Ji Won does the work of emphasizing the other girls struggles and problems.

Through Others girls we come to know Ji Won more. But I want to see why Ji Won is so fluffy and at time so Intellectual. Full of fun and excitement and then making strong words of wisdom.

The girls surely need Ji Won more. We the audience need more Ji Won and Sung Min the fellow.

I think we don't need Ji Won part of life as present Ji Won present us lot to speak for.

Everything is just perfect in this show. This show is now added into my all time top 5 kdrama list.
