@onlysb1 Tk u! I'm sure the PD have given more serious consideration into choosing the actress for the role of RO but we all know that sometimes, media likes to "edit and delete" what really transpired during the interview.

They could not possibly be so flippant in their choice of actress because it was not easy for them to secure funding. They have to make sure the actress is a perfect match for PBG.

Now we all know she and PBG is a match made in drama heaven!!

Thank you for the translated artilcles.  The PD seemed lack he lacked confident with this project.  I'm glad both YJ and BG proved him wrong. But I think it's unfair to say that 80% of Moonlight's success is to BG.  No matter how good an actor is, if the co-starts, scripts and etc are crap then the drama will fail. Would love to know the details regarding YJ's casting.  Did she have to read for it?  Or did she have to do a look test with BG to make sure she didn't look too young.  But doesn't it seem like, based on the PD's interview that even if YJ didn't the part, they would have still casted an actress her age?  So either way they were already planning on getting rid of the intimate scenes.

I love the comment about how YJ and BG didn't need the explicit scenes to show their chemistry.  This is the one thing I was so skeptical about when I first read about it.  YJ is so tiny compared to BG that I thought they would end up looking like siblings in the series.  But their chemistry proved me wrong.  They have become one of my favorite couple on TV.

I love the details they include for every scene.  The last scene in episode 14, Yeong's eyes doesn't soften until RO hugs him back.  It's almost as if he was confirming that RO's love wasn't a lie.  Love this little detail.

Hi moonlighters! I've been secretly lurking here since episode 2. At first,I thought that this would be another boring, cliche dramaseries, girl pretending to be a boy. But I was soooooooo wrong! After watching it on KBS marathon, I have been inlove with MDBC, the storyline,cinematography, the casts esp uri Bogummy ang uri Yoojung. I have been watching each episode for the nth time. With previous dramas that ive watched, I actually get bored and stops watching midway. But with MDBC, its different, so different. I cant imagine that we only have 4 episodes left. Im so emotional right now. What have you done to me raon-ah, seja!? I love you toooo much!

2 weeks left before mdbc end what next to our main actor as we know kdy has a new drama called goblin w/gy. Kim yoo jung team up to another amazing oppa cha tae hyun for the fantasy romatic movie because we love how about pbg and jy any news about upcoming project? Im sure the presence of pbg to vip premier of movie of his friends and lable mate cha tae hyun and former co.star kim yoo jung up to now im still amazed to this girl how she can manage and gave a great chem to her male co.star age doesnt matter i think she base on script as long it good script wheter she team up with a much older guy go. I think had it been Kim Ji Won (DOTS) or Kim Go Run (cheese in trap) the feel of the drama would have much different than the young romance that they wanted to portray in this fusion rom com type sageuk. I was actually rereading our thread from page 1 last night and saw a lot of people wanted the's 2 ladies to be with our CP. I believe that Park Bo Gum is able to make chemistry with any of them and we'd probably get more skinship and kiss scenes etc, but I don't think we'd get the young and innocent pure love that we get with Kim Yoo Jung. (I mean it'd be a bonus if they did a passionate dying to kiss you kind of kiss!) It was a chance they took on casting Kim Yoo Jung, but I think by fate our OTP was meant to be together! We can see how CP and Ra On slowly fall for each other at the same time It feels like our Bo Gum fell for Ra On and Yoo Jung fell for CP as the drama progressed.Their love and heartaches for one another feels so real causing many of us shippers heartaches as well.

For those that said Yoo Jung is too young and not experienced with love, who are we to judge and how would we know that? and how do we know that Bo Gum has fallen in love before? I feel sorry for our Yoo Jungie because she's not given as much credit as Bo Gum for the drama doing so well. I understand that it's because most viewers are female etc, whatever the reason may be, as they say it takes two to dance! I feel just as CP needs Ra On, Bo Gum needed Yoo Jung vice versa, because together they can a youthful innocent pure love that only they can do together. (sorry for the long post!!)

From the director's interview, it seems he is a person with high expectation and i salute him for this so that he can produce such high quality drama for viewers. So i can really understand the stress pbg went through during the beginning of the filming especially when he is still relatively new and have to work in so many scenes with e veteran actors and actresses. At this point, i do agree that kyj is much more fortunate as her scenes are not so many with the veteran ministers. 

 

Even then we still hav to give kyj the credits. Rem at the beginning the casts have always said kyj lighten the mood at the set everytime. Think the crew was initially very stress, with rivals, ratings to bother n they are taking a gamble with the casting of pbg n kyj. With recent reports that pbg has difficulties at first with his role even explains the kind of stress the entire crew has gone through.

I always feel that kyj is lk a fairy. Her presence has lighten such stress moods at set n i think she has been the catalyst for pbg acting too. Cos i rem pbg has been really thankful for her advice at acting ( in ent weekly interview) and from how pbg interact with kyj, he reli treat her like a soul mate more than a little sister.

Chemistry takes 2 to clap. If yj hasnt been exceptionally able to portray ro, there is no cp. Vice versa. And if both casts are good but there is no good script n good directing, everything will just be fluff. So i will say everything is a package.

N i am quite happy that kyj is casted here. Though she is still young and cant do many steamy love line scenes, i prefer it this way as i also cannot imagine pbg doing such scenes either. Think his company is also protecting his image a little now to have that pure boyish image. 

Pbg? Hot steamy scenes can wait, wait till yj is older and both of you can reunite to do both of your first ever adult romance genre

Please provide me the link who.. who fail to see KYJ role in MDBC .. she is as important as PBG .. no one here at least in this thread ever deny or implied that it's only PBG .. I have been here since the day it's start airing ... I have not seen anyone implying its all PBG .. yes many like to talk about him .. but no one ever implied KYJ not suitable for the role (I mean after the 1st episode) 

I think here in soompi in this thread everyone loves KYJ as much as PBG .. everyone think they are compatible ... PBG can't act alone .. it is the work of a team ...
