50okie
3 hours ago, moodypie said: To post of not to post ........ to post or not to post.... to post of not to post............to post or not to post...... OK POST ! I still don't understand Ha Yeon. I pity her initially.....but no longer. Ha Yeon ahh..... you said to CP that you wanted the wedding for business deal/political benefit (I question HY about what she said in my previous post too…and I left it as it is as I still want to try and understand her) but why this expression .... Ha yeon ahhh…how can you asked CP “Why do you look like that …you are breaking my heart”. CP did not look that way to break your heart Ha Yeon ahh. Anyway, why does it matter to CP if he breaks your heart or not, when you said earlier that your relationship with CP is only for business /political deal. Ha Yeon ahh…..you asked CP “What is the harm of becoming close”. I was rather surprise that you ask that question. Thank God my heart is still intact. If it was RAon, she wouldn’t have asked those questions at all. But rather, understand CP’s feeling. Why do you ignore CP’s feelings dear Ha Yeon? Why I don't find CP disrespectful in the garden scene with Ha Yeon, but I find HY more disrespectful…… Countless time, CP told you that he is not interested in you. But you keep coming to him...and keep coming to him .....and keep coming to him........and keep coming to him (does that sound like a spoilt recorder?)…………making him annoyed. Don’t forget, he is also the Crown Prince, so he deserve to speak his mind. And this is his mind speaking… Ha Yeon ahh……Did you even know that you were intruding CP’s private space? CP deserves to have his own private space. It’s where he finds comfort. How can you ask CP “Why are you so surprise to see me”. I was surprise that you were surprise dear Ha Yeon shi. I admire CP. He started off being really nice to HY, telling her that he is not interested while smiling at her. (But if CP keeps smiling at her, she will never ever get it). I always believe there should always be a mutual respect for each other. (Here, I must say I admire Raon for showing her respect to CP even though CP told her to treat him as a friend). Ha Yeon ahhh...... I know you don't know what CP is going through BUT BUT BUT...when someone tells you he is not interested ...what do you do...you retreat. Ok, maybe try harder a few more times, I can accept that...BUT BUT BUT....if you keep trying...and CP still politely rejects you, it's understandable for him to react and tell you “Never come to this garden anymore. Never!” Please note CP repeated “Never”. If you still don't understand this, I really don't understand what you don’t understand dear Ha Yeon. I really can’t connect with your reasoning anymore Ha Yeon ahhhhh.. This is my last sympathy for you Ha Yeon ahhh...…so don’t go crying again in the future because I have no more sympathy left in my already broken heart (for my otp). I’ve waited 14 eps to speak my mind about HY, hoping to see more of her character..… but all I gather is she still doesn’t get it. I am not able to connect the dot for HY. Perhaps I am dense? I’m not even going to compare her with other second female lead in other dramas, as I don’t see her the same as the other second lead. She seemed nice, likeable, a face of a pleasant person, and could be a dear friend in real life. But even as a friend, I would tell my friend to think twice or three times or more …about pursuing a man who are not interested in you. Why go down this route knowing that you will be lonely and have a sad unmeaningful life. If I have a boyfriend or a husband like CP…I will be blessed. He knows the boundaries and understand what is friendship. He knows how to reject a woman in a polite and nice way without offending the woman. He is upright, and a man that I truly respect even for his young age. If he was given a chance to rule Joseon, I know he will be the perfect king….but what is a perfect king without true love? without true friendship? and just being lonely and depress? I don’t want CP to go down that route. Some posters have mentioned that they don’t understand why people hate HY. I have to say, after pages and pages of backreading… I have actually not seen the sentence “I hate HY”. To say the word “hate” out loud when no one has even mentioned it would create a heavier feeling in the thread. I might have missed a few post here and there…but I do spend some time back reading to appreciate the flow of discussion. And I also LIKE as many post as I can. I have been in Soompi long enough to understand what can be said and what cannot be said. So here are my thoughts on the character. Note...I said "character". Lastly, I would like to say if we like a character, it’s our duty to post more about the character. In this way, people in the forum will appreciate the character more. It would be nice, if we can read more about HY’s character, so we can understand her more. I would like to applaud all those who supported YS’s character. It started with a few members who came out to speak out for YS. Because of some of you, YS character was not forgotten and not put in the shadow. The more we post about YS, the more people take notice of him. (Ahem…of course everyone’s notice his good genes and traits from the drama itself.) For the love of YS, we even have another thread specially dedicated to him. I am sure I can go on and on writing about YS but I will stop right here. Because some of my chingus here will say….moody, you haven’t visited YS’s thread yet. Yeah… I know..I will eventually. So be patient with me. hehe. **This is just my thoughts...and I was thinking if I should post or not.... I hope some of you will not be offended as English can be funny at times, it can give a different impression about the writer** Word!

Decided to delurk to join the party and rave about the drama with you all. There is such a positive vibe here that draws me back to the forums from time to time. Regarding the earlier interview with PD posted today about Kim Yoo Jung, I would like to share more as the English article did not do the Korean article justice; or Yoo Jung justice. Original article :http://entertain.naver.com/read?oid=001&aid=0008728261 English article: http://english.yonhapnews.co.kr/interview/2016/10/05/15/0800000000AEN20161005005500315F.html Yoo Jung's Baidu forum has posted a full Chinese translation of the Korean article. I will try to translate some parts in English roughly based on their translation. All credit goes to her Baidu fan forum. My sincere apologies in advance for any errors as I am no professional... The PD praised Yoo Jung very specifically multiple times in his interview. From this interview, you will understand why all main cast members said Yoo Jung was the PD's favourite on set; how she manages to change the mood on set immediately with her presence/performance. I used to thought that the comment was made out of civility or respect to her years of experience in acting. But after reading this article, I realized that this girl deserves it; truly. Disclaimer here: I LOVE and CHEER FOR PBG. This is not meant to undermine anyone's success or contribution in the drama. I just want to do KYJ justice because this girl is absolutely amazing and she deserves to be recognized as a professional actress on her own; not just PGB's pretty partner in his first sageuk. Selected parts of translation below: If the Producer had worries regarding the casting of Park Bo Gum as the male lead, one could imagine his concern over the casting of Kim Yoo Jung. Not to mention, Kim Yoo Jung is only 17 of age, which meant they needed to give up all emotional or love scenes in the original novel that might create controversies. In spite of all the challenges, her experience accumulated through years of acting as a child actress prevailed. No one could have portrayed the girl-in-disguise, Ra On more adorably than Kim Yoo Jung in "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds". Kim PD praised, "Yoo Jung has truly exceeded all expectations. I have no idea she could perform so well." [Parts on casting requirements of Ra On and the visual compatibility with PBG were edited out as the English article has already mentioned the key points] Having selected an actress in her late 10s to be the female lead, they had to let go of some of the romantic scenes in the original novel. They even had to tread carefully when it comes to kiss scenes. Kim PD said, "Even without those scenes, PBG and KYJ had no trouble expressing their passionate love for each other." He is very satisfied of the end result. "For our drama, compared to the role of Crown Prince, the role of Hong Ra On is more three-dimensional (or well-rounded). What I mean is that, if the female lead were to perform poorly (or sub-par), this series would be as good as over. But Yoo Jung portrayed the progression of her relationship with the Crown Prince very well as she developed deeper feelings in stages. The scene in which Hong Ra On was imprisoned, when she maintained a calm and serene demeanor during her meeting with the Crown Prince, she performed especially well. In the scene where they gaze into each other's eyes, she acted with her eyes and conveyed the emotions very well. After that, Bo Gum and Yoo Jung worked with each other seamlessly in the romantic scenes. I even told Yoo Jung, "I have completely underestimated you. You are absolutely amazing." [He also addressed netizens' concerns on why they stand behind their decision to reveal Ra On's identity as a woman earlier than traditional girl-in-disguise dramas usually do. Also addressed why Yoo Jung's women costumes looked underwhelming (translator's note: I think he is referring to the dress she wears to meet the prince or the lack of scenes of Ra On in women clothes in general) when compared to the male lead - turns out the main reason is they were so pressed for time in filming/producing that they did not have enough time to select the attires, as the selection for good/appropriate women costumes for sageuks are more complicated.). Hope you enjoyed reading this! And again, if I mistranslated anything, would our Korean speakers please do correct me anytime!! thank u so much for the sum-up of the article!!! "For our drama, compared to the role of Crown Prince, the role of Hong Ra On is more three-dimensional (or well-rounded). What I mean is that, if the female lead were to perform poorly (or sub-par), this series would be as good as over." TOTALLY AGREE ON THIS!!!!!! Whenever I read k-netz comments after each eps, I always feel quite sad because they only pay attention to BG and forget about YJ(not hating tho just stating the fact), so I'm very happy for this article. Both BG and YJ's actings are on par and compliment each other perfectly. I doubt having someone else other than YJ playing as Raon can create this much chemistry with BG as the CP. Like one of the k-netz once said, casting BG and YJ are really god's work.

Popular Post aurora1205
@breezelife. Thank you for sharing this please do share more ^^ I want to highlighten this Quote But Yoo Jung portrayed the progression of her relationship with the Crown Prince very well as she developed deeper feelings in stages. is exactly why I said YJ is performed beyond her years. In ep 3 and ep 4 Ra On developed crush on Lee Yeong. Mostly because of his good looks and unexpected closeness lol Then ep 5 and 6 happened I could clearly see Ra On's feelings deepened as she started to think and care a lot about Lee Yeong, every single action he take you can see the reflection of it in her eyes but she didn't know just yet what it was. By episode 7 Ra On's feelings became crystal clear with her own acceptance. It was indeed very well done.

Popular Post myutaa
I just able to finish watching ep 14.. Have so many in my head. But I can't write whats on my mind as flowing as what you all did here.. but let me try.. 1. When RaOn's mother told RO that "to have field to work on to get food for the family.. etc.. etc.. thats the only thing your father want." First, these phrase reminds me of LeeYoung "to make a woman able to live as a woman.." and after digesting it more it makes me think: how could a humble wishes lead a person to make a riot? To kill hundreds of innocents? 2. I know a lot people show the hate for HY, but for me, her character is very very sad.. there is nothing wrong about trying your best to get attention from the one you like, or love. One sided love always painful, and the way people react to it is different. Some people may took the friendzone route, some may try to leave in silence, and some may act like HY. She's trying to enter the friendzone but she failed to control the feeling. I'm sure she know that she'll not be able to enter CP's heart but in another way she feels like just being useful to CP alone is enough for her, but then she failed to control her heart, she's longing for more. I know it may sounds wrong but it is also very human. So I feel sad for HY, she should learn to control her heart and be satisfied with the deal she made with CP.. When I see HY conversation with YS, I kinda expect this two can be a couple, seems like they have a lot in common.. but I know that this is impossible.. 3. RaOn has super ability: to make people cry with her. At least to make me cry whenever she is. 4. Why people hate HY but didn't hate YS? Maybe because YS is more considerate about RO's heart. While HY is more about trying to get attention despite of get to know more about how CP's feel. When YS tell RO to cry, and when she cry, when he want to comfort her but hold himself from touching her. It hurts. In a short scene I can feel that YS is also hurt to not be able to comfort RO. 5. I miss BY. 6. How can CP know RO's place? Is that he get trap by PM Kim? Or is that YS's works? 7. Who is the man in black meeting PM Kim? Is that eunuch Han? The head eunuch? Or the rebel lead that trying to kill BY when he get mad that BY hides the fact about RO? 8. Have I tell you that I miss BY? I'm sorry for the long post. And also sorry if you can't understand what I'm saying.. hahahahha.. I'm not really good at writing..

I acknowledge that PBG is an amazing actor but I am glad that the PD had ample praise for KYJ as well. I am a huge fan of both of them but I do have a soft spot for female leads whose superb acting are sometimes overlooked by the audience due to the attractive portrayal of the male leads (like SHK in DOTS) haha!! @mooomoo I agree with you. How I wish I could ask the people who make that 80% statement to go and read old casting news about likely candidates for the part of Ra On. They should thank their lucky stars that Kim Yoo Jung accepted the role, not some of the names that were bandied about. PBG, however talented an actor he is (and he is awesome), would not be able to perform as he has done so far if he were mismatched with a far less skilled actress than Miss Kim Yoo Jung.

Popular Post myutaa
Aah.. one more thing.. I love how they make CP still running the palace the way he used to be but still manage to picture that RaOn is his center of universe.. He is the crown prince, but he is also a man who fall in love.. Is the writer is usually write a saeguk story? I find that conversation between CP and YS is very very beautiful.. how they play with words without downgrading the image of a prince begging for information and YS answer is beautiful as well..

Look like we apreciated HY presence more then Kim hyung though. Who difenetly deserve our attention for his silence devoted hero character. I have no pro or kontra about HY, because simply my attention is just for two love birds YongOn. What i can say about this lady is simply. ..hwaiting for you honest feeling , unrequited love is always painful since you turn your self in that's state...just endure it...who knows somewhere..somehow...you get what you dream of.live well eat well ..because history told us she live till old ages. And because we disccus her character more then 5page we should apreciated CSB for her role.
