The thing is... I sometimes wonder what would it be if Taeki went to one of those blind dates and decided to date for real. I couldn't imagine how frustrating it would be for both Taekie and the girl... well, since the boy could only manage saying word or two every time. He's not a typical of a person who can be chatty to a stranger all of a sudden, so I expect it might take a decade or two before he feels comfortable enough with anyone. hehehhe..

Glad that it was Deok Sun... the girl who knows him all his life. He didn't have to pretend to be someone else.

Someone (Im sorry I forget who) here used to mention that every JH and DS scene were also shared by TK and DS.
what I notice is TK and DS scene were almost always one step ahead in one way or another

1. The jwi scene
On JH/DS scene, DS trying to help JH, and they ended up having a laugh together because of it.
TK/DS scene were more because at this scene TK once again emphasize the fact that he likes DS as a woman and he isn't shy complimenting her and admitting his feelings to his friend.

2. The concert scene
JH refused to give his jacket to DS. TK voluntarily gave his jacket and did so without hurting DS pride and not to mention he forfeited his match to be with her.

3. The waiting for DS scene
JH waits for DS to be back from study room and peek at her from his window. of course DS didn't know this. The one moment he show up with umbrella he only give the umbrella and leaves her alone (I mean he couldve make the most of the moment and cuddles with her under the umbrella. making excuse for some skinship!).
TK waits for DS to go to the bathroom while pretending to take a smoke so she didn't worry and feel more embarassed after TK witness her crying before.
and of course in this scene he witness DS who cries and become vulnerable and promise to keep her secret.

4. DS sleeps while the guy is awake scene
DS were asleep in the bus because she woke up early to wait for JH and ended up asleep on his shoulder.
DS slept in TK's room with HIS blanket and pillow and mattress and being tucked in by TK (after she bleeds but still). and she sleept for a long long time.

5. DS pick clothes for the guys
DS pick TK clothes very very carefully while chose JH shirt with the color that he didn't like and he ended up never wear them (at least not on screen)

6. DS being protected in a some kind of a back hug mode
JH protect DS in the bus using his body to prevent her from being jostled. TK protect DS in the beach using his body and later on having a 'date' in the beach with her (there's coffee, food, baduk, and ofc sunsets)

7. Trip out of town
JH and DS went to school trip while DS and TK went overseas together just them (and the baduk people but still) with consent from their parents. and we all know lots of wonderful moments happen in chine. its kind of their special spot I guess.

8. Be DS's "date"
DS and her friends went to MCD together because they didn't have a date. and they ended up asking DS to call JH there. He kinda become her "date" and paying their food and all. Though they only have some time to be alone together at the bus.
DS's blind date partner cancel on her so she didn't have a date and ask MO to bring her a warm clothes in the concert venue. but before MO came, TK was there. With warm jacket and warmer smiles. He's there without being called. and ofc they spend the moment with just the both of them.

9. DS hurt her foot

DS pretend with JH to get his attention and he only help her trying to walk by holding her hand. But TK got the bridal carry and DS swoon overnight because of it lol.

10. Bed scene
JH got asked by DS to go to the concert, while Tk got to kiss DS.

That's all the scenes I can recall for now..

and ofc lots of TK/DS scene that weren't shared by JH/Ds cause TK is the husband hohoho..

@raniryu, Oh u made a gd point for number 5! I forgot that JH's shirt can be compared to all the clothes DS prepared for CT. Like seriously, JH didnt seem to be able to receive DS affection but CT always receives it. 

Agree that CT is always one step ahead. Thats why his character grows on us while JH's actions get more frustrating for the viewers. 

P.S: This drama and its influences! I am learning baduk and I cut my hair like hyeri.....

@raniryu  Yes!  I noticed that too. They share the same moments, but the differences is 1) Taek usually makes a move that JH wouldn't 2) Deok-Sun is actually a part of the moment 

A couple more I can think of are the infamous picture of course. Though I do think JH's part in this picture was about as openly sweet to her as he's even been (even though it confused her).  But she was more willing and happier to take it with Taek, despite not feeling pretty that day. Even to start with she's standing much closer to Taek. She's more comfortable with him.  She also smiles with Taek, while with Junghwan she's in a defensive position.

Both guys also had the chance to admit their feelings for DS to their friends. Taek just plainly said he liked her, but Junghwan ruined his chance by backtracking to Sun Woo that he thought Deok-Sun was pretty.

I also think something could be said about the differences between how Deok-Sun visited the two houses.  She spent a lot of time in both households, but in general she took much more interest in Taek as a person than she did JH  She'd go to JH's to eat ribs or bring food, or talk about JB, but she never really went there just to hang out with him like say DR did.  She would spent time alone just talking with Taek though.  

I'm sure there other scenes too.

This couple right here has never really changed over time.

Duk Seon lies and Taek lets her get away with it everytime.

He knew he was right, but he didn't fight over that fact with Duk Seon.

He made a fool of himself in front of the interviewer by taking his answer back and instantly agreed with her that their first kiss did happen in 1994. 

It was as if it was natural thing for him now to do that - that Duk Seon is always right and he always gets the facts wrong

It's sooooo adorable that they have carried this habit till today. Somethings have never changed.

^I can actually picture Young Taek having this "I'm in trouble again" look on his face 

When you first watch this, you'd think: Uh-oh he's in trouble. How could he mess up the year of their first kiss?! (I thought it was because he didn't know all this time)

But little did we know, Taek was actually right, and that he just let her get away with it again!

 for @13infamyss, who is so wonderful at picking up suntaek's deep emotional undercurrents. 

I love that the 2016 couple scenes always carry "cues" that evoke some detail or pathos behind TK-DS's long relationship. We should do a big compilation post one of these days. For now, just focusing on this moment alone, there's plenty material to cover.

Bridging off of @13infamyss's post, from this scene we also got--

Husband Taek intuitively knew DS's bathroom request is more than just a bathroom request, and followed his wife, knowing she'll want to 'talk'.

Which brings us back to Tuesday Feb. 14th, 1989:

When most kdramas literally throw the heroine under the bus (or under the ocean *cough mask cough*), and the hero is required to play superhero and leap off buildings (though I do love you Healer hehe), I really appreciate how the writer chose the bathroom here. 

"Going to the bathroom" is a simple but banal human actively. Common and instinctive but deeply private and less-than-romantic. 

Notice JH and DR's reactions to DS's bathroom runs (and I won't even bother screencapping their "ews" when DS heads to the bathroom in ep. 10):

Although DS is close with all the Ssangmun-dong boys, TK stands out in this instance. 

No "ews". No "geez." With the other boys and with her family, Deoksunnie often resorts to 'loud' pleas to be noticed and understood ("do I look pretty?" "How do I look in my new jacket?" "I like fried eggs too!!"). But TK has always been able to read DS's needs and be there for her in the least intrusive way possible. He takes in all her little white lies and accommodates her vulnerabilities. He sees beyond the surface antics and understands her intimately.

Between suntaek, nothing flashy or convoluted is required. No elaborate secrets. No dramatics and histrionics. Their bond is profound but simple-- a steadfast holding of the hands; the assurance she won't change and he'll be there. 

He'll be there. Waiting just for her.

Also, the set design for ep. 12's restaurant scene says so much about the emotional 'geography' of DS's heart:

For those of you who are unfamiliar with R88's color scheme, SW = RED, JH = BLUE, TK = GREEN, DS = YELLOW (lol notice that yellow light cast over LMY's posters?? PD Shin, you detail oriented beast). 

The set design here = the chambers of DS's heart. Near the door is SW's red-- that surface blush of first crush. The middle period comes JH, a coming-of-age exploration of what it might mean to think someone likes you and that sweet possibility of having a " omg boyfriend for reals". 

And then, in the back ... in the deepest chamber of her heart, is TK. Dear, wonderful TK who is always in the back of her mind, forever embedded in its deep recesses. Her love for him has always been there, but it's a matter of subconsciousness vs consciousness, sexual awareness vs innocent devotion.

Another thing I find interesting is the JH/DS bus "dates" compared to the TaekSun car dates. In the car dates DS is literally in the diver's seat, meaning it's her choice to be with Taek, as she's the one in charge there.  But the bus scenes were mostly about JH doing something for her that she was either confused by, or didn't even acknowledge and barely noticed.   The bus scenes were always JH-->DS, besides the one where she woke up early.  Even then she just fell asleep. She didn't do anything for him, and he was unwilling.  So it led to nothing. The car dates on the other hand are DS-->TK (she's picking up him after all, going out of her way to do something for him), and then of course TK->DS because he loves her and freely admits it. TK/DS scenes are always mutual.
