Remember So said before that the day he was told he has the star of the king was the day he got the scar? I believe that how King Taejo knew So got the King's calling. I believed Jimong regretted saying it and that why he told Hae Soo don't interfere. Because of his interfering, maybe that how So got the scar but because of Hae Soo, she covered So's scar and brought him back to the path of kingship. That why I think when Hae Soo asked how can she changed the future, Jimong responded was "didn't you already do something" or something along the line that made Hae Soo realized she already open the pathway. Maybe in Jimong's timeline as some mentioned, Yo shouldn't be the king but his revealing of the prophesies of Mu gonna died young, So will be king also started to move the timeline toward another direction that allowed Yo to be the 3rd king instead of So. Thus Jimong learned the hard ways and wish Soo won't make the same mistake as him. But we all know, with how naive Soo is, she will be fill with guilt later on as whatever she do, those visions she had will just be fulfill one by one. Last one will be how Gwangjong look back at her.

This is my first post here, but I've been lurking for like the last...400 pages?!  lol 

But I'm so obsessed with this drama…I even was trying to keep up while on our family vacation to Disneyland last week  Thank you to all the people who posted recaps when the episodes aired as I couldn't stream any video for over a week!

So I watched Ep16 from the leaked version yesterday, then I just watched the SBS version and it drives me nuts that there are multiple versions, but I like being able to see the different scenes. I just wish all the scenes were in one version. Though I think i do prefer the SBS version…it seemed to flow better? Or maybe that's just because I've been influenced by all the opinions in this forum hehe.  I couldn't help but bawl my eyes out when WE & SD were killed..even while watching the 2nd time. This ranks right up there with ep11 and Lady Oh dying for most tears shed on a kdrama.

...But oooh the HS &WS scenes at the end gave me all the feels! 

Can I just say that whenever LJG does that smile, or even half smile, I just melt. *sigh* 

And then tonight my local korean station aired episode 8 with HS covering WS scar for the rain ritual and I could fall in love with the beginning of their relationship all over. =)

But there's a scene I think i saw before, but on a short youtube vid where WS stands up for Baek Ah and that's why BA is close to WS…can anyone tell me what episode that was? I don't remember seeing it in an actual episode but maybe it was in the other version (ugh..again with the multiple versions!)

THE IT boy is very talented please watch his work before commentiing ..

LJG is ALREADY IN THE A list actor ... he is 34 (35?) .. he is in his prime .. low rating does not has any relation to his performance in SHR . HE IS GREAT...

So does PBG as LY .... he can act, he taken acting classes and he is versatile .. similar to LGJ .. (just watch him in R88, Monster etc)

I like both of them and I hate reading bias comment such as this ... if you have watch MDBC you wouldn't have carelessly post such remark .. please consider feeling of MDBC fans that are also following SHR  .

It is mind boggling how many versions are out there right now. Last night was a confirmation that Youku's version does deviate from the widely accepted international version (One TV Asia, Dramafever), which leaves us with at least 3 versions - 4, if you count the fact that the opening theme can be seen in some SBS versions, and not, in others, though the content after the opening theme appears to be the same so far. It then makes me wonder why Youku's version differs, because apart from differences in scene sequences (the alliance to support So's ambition to be king came before the break-up scene, which helps to explain So's motivations, rather than having it as a flashback in SBS and international versions), there were no omissions that I can see when compared to the international version. As to why the scenes were edited, I can't say, though I can only surmise (from one episode!) that it appears to be just edits done to the same international version, with nothing added to it. I wonder now whether there will be even more localised edits as we see the drama being aired in other countries going forward. 

 

Multiple versions notwithstanding, the best for Ep16 still goes to SBS, with so much being far better fleshed out - Yo's guilt eating him from the inside and driving him even further into madness, despite his obvious cruelty and apparent disregard for life. Woo Hee's deal with Yo is revealed, and through it, So's efforts to undermine the building of the castle, and ease the sufferings of the hard labour being forcibly drafted into building the new castle. And Wook finding Yo unconscious, the wheels of his mind begins to turn as he makes his way to their uncle Wang Shim Ryeom - wonder if it is to draft his support in his bid for the throne, now that the present king is pretty much unfit to rule, and probably would not survive for long. The knowledge that So's allies are just waiting for his decision to rise up and claim the throne. All these details help to paint a far vivid picture compared to its international counterpart. While Jung's yet unknown reward request from Yo would most likely be pertinent down the road, particularly when Soo finally decides to leave the palace, it is currently less crucial in the present scheme of things, and I applaud SBS for delivering a far more cohesive narrative.

What all the versions have in common is Eun and Soon Deok's tragic deaths - one which has me crying practically through every rewatch. And my girl, an avid MLSHR fan, who never once shed a tear when Court Lady Oh and Lady Hae died, was in tears as the scene played out. There is nothing I can fault in this scene - LJG, Baekhyun and Z.Hera's performances were absolutely stellar and heartwrenching... and the choice of music perfect in depicting the shifting mood throughout. And I ache for these two who are the most innocent in these brutal times and the epitome of hope... they who have always kept apart from all the political intrigues, yet could no more escape its sinuous grasp in the end. So much so that now when I think back on happier times... when Eun threw tantrums for not being able to master the sword dance after hundreds of tries, I mourn for this child-like boy who should never have been born into the royal family.

Much as I love Ep16, I do have one gripe... that Yo, having just killed General Park's only daughter and son-in-law, would actually allow the general to continue to hold military and political power. Even for a madman, I find this to be an unbelievable stretch of logic.

I agree that in most Kdrama the girl rarely hugs back..but IU here did..and even more passionately, as she held him so tight, with her arms around his neck. The line of her body pressed closely tight to him.
It must have been so warm in IU's embrace ...now i get you LJK  ...hahahaha...the feels !

I'm freaking out. Does this mean that they wont be together? Sorry if someone already posted this. Ugh if this was in episode 17 then that means that we were so close to seeing it yesterday.  I notice that he jumped into the water and took her under it with him. I feel like that would be a lot of things happening in 17. I'm hoping that if this is from episode 17, then that will mean that there's still a chance of a happy ending. I'm wondering if the actual Hae Soo is alive and took her place in the present. What if they were to go back in their own bodies and she turns into a complete strangers to him?!
