Two more episodes! I wonder what minor conflicts will surface in the last two episodes. I have a feeling it'll be the arranged marriage issue. Blah. I hope not though. Annoying. 

EDIT: OK. My last comment about the chemistry this week lol. This is why I think SJS and SMA are such amazing actors. During the whole singing part, SJS had his arm behind SMA almost the entire time and he was looking at her the ENTIRE time with loving eyes. These small gestures separate the good actors from the great ones. Looked SO real. Amazing.

After having seen the subbed episode on Viki I do have a better understanding for why JK left and why JE was so understanding of the whole separation. Seeing how JK missed her as much as she missed him and how he tried to be strong enough not to read her messages as this would kill his resolve to concentrate on getting better and completely switch it to be next to her, I think he was fully aware of how she worried about him right from the beginning. He was just afraid of giving into his greatest craving as in not being separated from her as she is his life-line but he used this craving as a booster of willing himself in healing faster than the recovery would normally take.

It is shown that she stayed in touch with JW and most likely JS as well and I think they did give her updates on his recovery as he will have kept his contact with them being worried about his "adoptive sons" living without their hyungnim. And from the fact that she knew right way that it was Min ringing at her apartment door for catching JK as he would have other obligations this night as well as the fact that she was able to convince/force him into participating the show and wearing a sparking jacket without him protesting to much I got the vibe of them having kept contact during JK absence as well.

As JE's voice-over during the last scene showed that she was grateful for JK having returned to her side earlier than she could have expected I think it was mostly Min feeding her with all the important medical updates (as in how complicated the recovery and rehab would be and how he was fighting through it). With Min's vast spy network reaching till the American side as well it would have been an easy task for him and he knows and respects how important JE is for JK health (mental, emotional as well as physical) so he would not do anything that would cut off this life-line. He even prevented the hospital staff from taking away JE plaster so JK could find it when finally leaving the room for the first time. I have the feeling that JE and Min found a common ground and got close to  each other in their worry about JK. She is able to twist Min around her little finger and to get her will with him as his involuntary performance at JK's birthday party showed.

Another detail that gave me the feeling of JE having information on JK recovery and not feeling left behind is the fact that all the month she used as marker for the passing year in episode 13 (February, May and August) where the same once that where shown as important milestones within JK's recovery process within today's episode.

I also liked the detail of JK knowing exactly what JE's schedule seemed to be on 24th of December 2015 although he just arrived in Seoul that day. He knew what time JE would likely pass around the corner on her way back to the office which is once again confirming Min's vast spy network and that Min also kept an protecting eye on JE for JK during his absence. For me Min is really the hidden Armor within this story. As soon as he realized JE's importance for JK he discreetly and secretly is doing anything needed to protect this bond even during the separation. He is indeed in control of everything and everyone around him but he's using his skills for the good cause. Well at least that's what I do want to believe.

I really think this week's episodes should be watched together to get what the writer was aiming for. And the fact that episode 14 with all it's heart-warming scenes softened the blow and impact of episode 13 did help as well (at least for me). Tonight's episode was just lovely. Especially the ending...

 

I totally agree with you. After I watched ep 13 with subs and ep 14 raw. I understand better the direction that writernim want to take us. Although there are few things a bit unrealistic (like how the accident happened) but we cannot expect too much of reality as it is drama. But overally I am satisfied with ep 13 and ep 14.  Also, it is necessary to have the angst and separation so we can feel better the depth of love between our OTP. Our main leads have such a superb acting skills, especially SJS. I can feel his sadness and sorriness to JE for making her to wait that long for him in ep 14. He did not speak much but through his eyes, it showed so much emotions. Amazing actor!

'Oh My Venus' refreshes its highest viewership rating with two more episodes to go

"Oh My Venus" refreshed its own highest viewership rating.

According to the viewership rating by Nielsen Korea on December 30th, the 14th episode of KBS 2TV's "Oh My Venus", which was aired at 10 PM on the previous night recorded 9.9% in nationwide viewership rating.

The figure is up by 1.2% compared to 8.7% of the previous episode and also is the highest rating the drama has ever recorded so far.

This episode depicted the reunion between Kim Yeongho (So Ji-sub) and Kang Jooeun (Sin Min-ah) after a year passed since the tragic car accident.

Meanwhile, SBS' 'Six Flying Dragons' recorded 13.8% while MBC's "Glamorous Temptation" skipped its Tuesday show due to the live broadcast of MBC Entertainment Awards.

I liked the kiss but it's SMA initiating the kiss not both of them going for it. If you watch previous scenes (even their Giordano ad where they're rolling in the sand), SJS becomes frozen when SMA kisses him (I would too, oppa. It's OK!). I think that is the introvert in him that's showing. As much as I wished SJS would've kissed back, they had the sweetest exchange. There's something about their gaze. Like slow honey. It was enough to melt me into a puddle. EDIT: I just realized I'm interchangeably using the actors and characters names. Sorry! I can't distinguish the two! Chemistry is so painstakingly good! Gah! Please show up to the awards show so I can gawk some more. Team SoShin, FIGHTING!

I agree about their gazes. Like are they thinking of their own significant others when they look at each other? But you know, I think if we were looking at SJS, I don't think it would be hard to look at him the same way, right? 

I just hope they remain close colleagues and friends in the future. The whole cast, actually! I hope they all get wasted at the wrap up party and then sleep for a whole week.

Thoughts after EP 14:

It was good enough for now. All I can remember is the beginning return scene and the ending bed scene. Everything else was either a complete blur or unnecessary fluff to me. I kind of felt cheated that's all the airtime we got from our couple (yes, I am greedy). Just please, don't waste anymore airtime on any other stories. 

-Question...in the scene where the doc is talking with YH's father, he said he'll get "started on the cancer treatments for the director". Did YH's cancer come back or is this something different? I thought he was cured. Not sure if the translation was correct. Anyone who understands Korean, please clarify. I also find it funny a doc would ever say "it would take a miracle", they're much more technical not spiritual in their medical explanations. Then again, this drama has a lot of spiritual references to Christianity. 

-There are different instances where it seems to foreshadow some characters who may have severe illnesses: SJ, YH's father, grandma. Wonder what this will mean for the rest of the eps? Whoever it is, let it NOT be YH. JE's world would shatter to pieces and I would kick the screen. 

We're on last two eps and I'm already having withdrawals. Can someone make more gifs of our couple at every scene? I need some healing too.

In this case, it's DO NOT  BELIEVE!!!  there will never be an romantic notion between us, I just look at his face and I'll crack up remembering his 2 songs!!! and SJS almost rolling on the floor!!! each time I replay the scene, I just look at the audience reaction! I can't BEAR to watch chief min sing with infinite gusto!!!

btw, SJS can knit pretty fast...... seems like he knows how to knit for real??? our macho man knitting for real? Just so in love with SJS @moodypiehear that?? serious, morose, somber, deep - always been my type of a man! LJJ is always smiling!!

A year apart and I'd think there'd be no more breath left for kisses lol. I know SJS can kiss passionately, though I also noticed this same reaction with the kiss at JE's apartment when he returned the poinsettia plant. Okay, details, schmetails. I feel like I didn't get my dessert. Guilty as charged.

,Re short pants - there are really hideous on the beautiful shin Mina... I wish they would dress her in regular pants. Are real lawyers allowed to wear that in Korea? I am not allowed to wear short dress pants to work here at my workplace... Not like hers. I have definitely seen the too short pants suits in TW dramas recently too. Not a fan.

brown suit are hard to pull off I think in men... I feel like they are too classic. SJS does look good in most suits and I'd rather him be in plain suits then anything else. 

I have yet to see episode 14. I will be sad when this ends. I only really watched 3 kdramas all the way through this year and all were romance driven - the terrible-but-I-still -enjoyed-it HJN, the how-to-steal-a-child-and--get-away-Scott-free MLED, and now this one - OMV. I almost watched all of Twenty again. It was a struggle this year. I did really like HB and HJM even though everyone hates them as an otp. I gotta say my great love for JJM kept me watching MLED but I wasn't particularly taken by the otp. But that all changed with OMV. I was separately super excited about SJS and SMA being in a drama yet alone being in the same drama, especially since she was rumored in that other drama that didn't come to fruition. I love the YH-JE couple despite my gripes with them once in awhile. They are really cute and actually A couple I'd want to be friends with in real life. I can't say that about most drama characters. I will really miss them. SJS SMA fighting!!!

Yeah .. i was wondering if it's for the dad's cancer treatments or YH's cancer treatment.. 

 

the translation wasn't very good.. but i am thinking it's the dad's treatments cus the doc said YH has recovered from his cancer which is a miracle already... 

one more thing i noticed:

JE and HW are wearing similar colours for their dress.. i thought it's abit of clash.. thought they should have made the girls wear different colours.. #justsaying

and why is only YH not wearing a jacket?? haha.. the rest of the men are!

So he got surgery done on his right leg when he was younger (due to osteosarcopena) and then later as an adult, he gets surgery on his left (due to the car incident). WHICH IS IT?? Shouldn't the writer stay consistent with the same injury relapsing/?!

Oh by the way, his father is so clean and nice labeling it as an incident rather than an accident...

@ladychan1984, omgoodness, you are right! I didn't think about the poinsettia scene. Maybe he's playing hard to get lol I think you're right though. We probably are seeing remnants of the real SJS even though he's acting. Like the very last scene, when he's retreating, that smile seems to me more like a SJS smile. So like you said, maybe the introvert in him is like NO! NO BOH BOH! hahahaha 

I have the biggest girl crush on SMA. Get it, girl!
