Im Si Wan Tears Up with Joy in New “Misaeng” Trailer

On September 29, tvN released the second teaser trailer onto their official Youtube channel with the caption, “Im Si Wan, Lee Sung Min, Kang Sora, and Kang Ha Neul lead national webtoon turned drama ‘Misaeng’! ‘Still a livable life’ tvN eighth anniversary special drama ‘Misaeng.’”

In the released trailer, Im Si Wan is in a salaryman attire as he enters an elevator. Looking at his watch, he is so filled with joy that he starts tearing up. The reason for his emotional moment is the fact that he is able to get off of work on time (in Korea, it is highly rare that workers—especially salarymen and women—to get off of work at a consistent time). Seeing that it is exactly seven o’clock, his ecstatic emotions take over. In the trailer, the caption, “Getting off of work at the rightful time” turns into “Filling of emotional joy” as Im Si Wan’s eyes start to water.

Meanwhile, “Misaeng” will air its first episode this coming October 17 on tvN. Who’s excited for this drama?

Ready to kick off another new series, tvN unveiled two new teasers for its upcoming drama Misaeng(Incomplete Life).

The teasers were released on September 29, dropping two previews for Im Si Wan and Kang So Ra. 

In the first teaser, Im Si Wan happily hops into an elevator as the captions read, “Leaving the office on time for a misaeng: an overflow of emotions.” 

The second teaser showed Kang So Ra counting the days of the week, as the captions stated, “A weekend for a misaeng: too short.’ 

Misaeng, which is based off of a popular webtoon series of the same name, is about a young baduk (a board game called Go) player who fails to go pro and ends up having to join the corporate world, learning to adapt to society with what he’s learned from the board game. 

Misaeng begins October 17.

The teasers for Misaeng continue to be relatably funny, as you can see in two more previews featuring two of its leads, Im Shi-wan and Kang So-ra. The story depicts the lives of ordinary office workers encountering everyday conflicts and foibles, and the original Misaeng manhwa was a hit with twenty- and thirtysomething office workers largely because its realistic touch resonated with their experiences.

In Im Shi-wan’s teaser, he’s once again taking the office elevator and eagerly awaiting the end of the day. When it arrives, he’s so excited that he’s moved nearly to tears. I think we all know that feeling.

“Misaeng” Filming Draws Media Attention in Jordan

Shooting for upcoming tvN drama series “Misaeng” has been grabbing the headlines in the Middle Eastern nation of Jordan. Leading daily newspapers such as Al-Rai and Al-Ghad have carried stories about the drama, which has seen the cast and production crew film several scenes in and around Petra, as well as Wadi Rum and other locations.

Z:EA’s Im Siwan, one of the stars of the new series, was quoted by Jordanian reporters as saying, “Petra was so impressive, especially Al-Khazneh [The Treasury], which was just amazing.”

The production team has also spoken of its delight at how smoothly filming has been going.

A representative said, “It was great filming there, we were allowed to take control of a downtown street in Amman, which is like the Namdaemun area of downtown Seoul. We were received with warm hospitality in Jordan. We were treated with the respect that “The Avengers” movies’ producers might expect. So many people helped us out. We hope that viewers can get a sense of the cultural heritage of Jordan and the country’s mysterious beauty.”

“Misaeng” is slated to begin airing on October 17.

Ones to Watch: Upcoming October K-Dramas

The weather is cooling down, the days are getting shorter, and there is a decided crispness in the air that just calls for a night in with a good drama or two. So get comfy on your couch, warm your hands around a pumpkin spiced latte, and settle in because October’s drama selection has something for everyone.

Let’s hear it for workplace dramas and the kind of therapy that happens when workplace antics and drudgery are depicted in realistic, humorous, and relatable ways. If there is one drama that is on my list to watch for October, it is “Misaeng.” Based off a manhwa with a cult following of those in the 20s and 3os, the drama follows the lives of everyday office workers Im Siwan, Kang Sora, Lee Sung Min, and Kang Haneul as they clock in and try to survive the pitfalls of corporate life. For those of us who slave away spend our days in a cube farm, we will get to see all the things that drive us crazy in our 9-5′s played out in accurate, albeit dramatized, ways, and I for one can not wait. The teasers for “Misaeng” have been snappy and succinct and capture so brilliantly the highs and lows of life on the bottom tier.

Woah didnt expect that... siwan looks soo manly in jordon pics B-) :P... i mean he has cute feature and always looks cute but pulling out the man out of him.. thats something new and intersting.. :-? You go siwan ... \:D/ Im really looking forward to this show.. Fighting!!! :-B :-B
