*** Just three days after its release, "Gyeongseong Creature Part 1"  has climbed to the 3rd spot in Netflix’s Global TOP 10 for non-English shows, making it a sizzling end to 2023. The series also secured the 1st position domestically. It has also entered the TOP 10 lists across 20 countries, including Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, India, and the Philippines, showcasing its international appeal. It was a well-made drama overall.

*** I love "Gyeongseong Creature" but, my problem is that the drama has a slow-paced plot. Most episodes are flooded with intentionally slowed scenes that drag the plot and running time.There are also scenes that the  romance between the main leads is unconvincing and rushed. Hence, "Gyeongseong Creature" has drawn mostly mixed reviews online. The first seven episodes is streaming on Netflix. The last three episodes of the drama series, labeled as the second season, will air on Jan. 5. Despite, I'm looking forward to this.

Netflix has heightened viewers’ anticipation for “Gyeongseong Creature” Season 2 by revealing its first stills!

 

Set in the dark times of Spring 1945, Season 1 of “Gyeongseong Creature” told the story of an entrepreneur and a sleuth who must fight for survival and face a monster born out of human greed. In Season 2, the unfinished story continues in Seoul of 2024 where Yoon Chae Ok (Han So Hee), who survives the spring of Gyeongseong, meets Ho Jae, who resembles Jang Tae Sang (Park Seo Joon).

 

In a post-credit scene from the last episode of Season 1, a man named Ho Jae turns around, revealing his face which resembles that of Jang Tae Sang, the head of Geumokdang. A vertical scar on the back of his neck raises questions about what kind of story he has.
