Character descriptions

Bae Seok Ryu (Jung So Min) is a woman who tries to reboot her troubled life after it goes awry.

Choi Seung Hyo (Jung Hae In) is the head of the architecture atelier In as well as the titular son of a friend of Seok Ryu’s mom—and someone whom Seok Ryu considers a living blotch on her personal history.

Jung Mo Eum (Kim Ji Eun) is Seung Hyo and Seok Ryu’s cheerful and unpredictable childhood friend Jung Mo Eum, an emergency responder who is passionate about justice.

On November 3, OSEN reported that Jung Hae In is reviewing the offer to star in tvN’s new drama “Mom’s Friend’s Son” (literal title).

In response to the report, Jung Hae In’s agency FNC Entertainment shared, “‘Mom’s Friend’s Son’ is a project that he received an offer [to star in] and is currently reviewing.”

On November 30, STARNEWS reported that Jung So Min will star in the new drama “Mom’s Friend’s Son” (literal title).

In response to the report, Jung So Min’s agency IEUM HASHTAG shared, “‘Mom’s Friend’s Son’ is one of the projects that Jung So Min received an offer for. [The actress] is currently reviewing the offer.”

“Mom’s Friend’s Son” is a new rom-com drama about a woman named Bae Seok Ryu, who tries to restart her troubled life, and her mom’s friend’s son Choi Seung Hyo, who is marked as the dark chapter in Bae Seok Ryu’s life. On December 13, it was confirmed that Jung Hae In will be starring in tvN’s new drama “Mom’s Friend’s Son” (literal title).

Jung Hae In will be playing the role of Bae Seok Ryu’s mom’s friend’s son Choi Seung Hyo, who is the head of the architecture atelier In and one of the most notable young architects in the Korean architecture industry. In addition to having great skills, Choi Seung Hyo is handsome and has the perfect personality. His one dark past involves around Bae Seok Ryu, whom he met when he was four years old by following his mom to the bathhouse. The two who used to share banana milk at the bathhouse will reunite after time passes, raising question for what relationship will unfold when they meet again.

Earlier this year, Jung Hae In impressed through his Netflix series “D.P.” Season 2, and more recently, he captivated viewers through his special appearance in “12.12: The Day.”

Jung Hae In will finally lead his first-ever romantic comedy K-drama!

On December 13, Jung Hae In's agency FNC Entertainment announced that the actor is confirmed to star in the upcoming tvN K-drama Mom’s Friend’s Son.

This will be the first time that Jung Hae In will star in a romantic comedy genre. In his previous works, he usually played the role of the second lead in romantic comedy series. 

Jung Hae In is the only one who is officially confirmed for the role. The female lead was offered to actress Jung So Min and she is still reviewing the offer. 

Mom’s Friend’s Son will revolve around a woman named Bae Seok Ryu who wants to restart her erratic life and her mom's friend's son Choi Seung Hyo who is the reason for the dark chapter in Bae Seok Ryu's life. 

The upcoming K-drama will be the next work of director Yoo Je Won (Crash Course in Romance) and writer Shin Ha Eun (The Crowned Clown). The production team previously worked in 2021 through the hit K-drama Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.  

Jung Hae In will portray the role of Choi Seung Hyo. He is the mom's friend's son of Bae Seok Ryu. He is known in the architecture world for his skills, appearance, and even good personality.

On March 8, Kim Ji Eun's agency confirmed the latest project of the actress. According to HB Entertainment, "Kim Ji Eun will be joining the new series Mom’s Friend’s Son. She will continue to work hard this year as well."
