Hi there! Welcome to soompi.com and to All In, especially. Sorry for the very late response but it's really good to see your first post at the thread. :D

I've just downloaded Episode 2 from the Silent Regrets link (above) that lili shared with us and the clip is real. Despite the smaller size, it is a complete English-subbed episode. Unlike the MU links that no are longer available posted at page 1, these clips were already combined as one without having to download parts 1, 2, 3.

The only reason why it is smaller is the quality of the video.. as in wmv vs avi, etc but frankly.. the clips from SR appear just as good and complete with English subs. Hopefully you will be able to download the clips to watch.

Here's the direct link to the All In MU File Folder. Enjoy! :)

Stars to gather at opening ceremony of S. Korean film festival

By Kim Young-gyo

SEOUL, Oct. 2 (Yonhap) -- Some of Asia's most celebrated stars will gather at the opening ceremony of South Korea's largest annual film festival, which will begin its nine-day run on Thursday, organizers said.

The guest list, announced Wednesday by the Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF), features some of biggest names in Korean, Japanese and Chinese cinema, including Jung Jin-young, known for his impressive performance as an insecure king in the 2006 Korean film "King and the Clown."

"This year, rising film stars from across the world will visit Busan, making the festival a glorious event," PIFF said in a statement.

Kim Jung-eun, who starred in "Forever the Moment," a film revolving around South Korea's women's team at the 2004 Athens Olympics, will host the opening ceremony with Jung, which is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m.

Lee Byung-heon, one of the most popular Korean actors in Asia, has already booked a ticket to Busan, organizers said. Lee, known mostly for his hit TV drama "All In," was one of the driving forces behind Korea's Hallyu, or Korea Wave, a boom of Korean pop culture that swept across the region.

South Korean actor Hyun Bin and actress Lee Bo-young, who star in the festival's closing film "I Am Happy," will be at the ceremony, as will Kim Hye-soo and Park Hae-il, the stars of the soon to be released period melodrama "Modern Boy," to open later this month.

Korea's beloved veteran actor and actress Ahn Sung-ki and Kang Soo-yeon are also to appear at the event Thursday night, PIFF organizers said.

Japanese celebrity Juri Ueno, who became a popular icon in Asia with her role as the innocent Nodame in the Japanese serial drama "Nodame Cantabile", and Li Xiaolu, dubbed one of the four little empresses of China, are to meet the audience at the festival.

Aaron Yoo, a Korean-American actor who starred in the 2007 film "Disturbia," produced by Ivan Reitman, and Moon Bloodgood, an American actress and model of Korean descent, are expected to be in attendance as well.

The 13th annual PIFF will open with the screening of Kazakh film "The Gift to Stalin," tickets to which sold out in a record time of one and half minutes through on-line sales.

Directed by Kazakh film maker Rustem Abdrashev, "The Gift to Stalin" deals with the grim suppression of minority ethnic groups in the Soviet era.

Song Hye-kyo Unveils US Indie Film in Busan

By Cathy Rose A. Garcia

Staff Reporter

Actress Song Hye-kyo

Hallyu star Song Hye-kyo unveiled her new movie "Make Yourself at Home," at the 13th Pusan (Busan) International Film Festival over the weekend.

Song, one of the best known Korean actresses in Asia, surprised many when she chose to work on an independent film by first-time Korean-American director Sohn Soo-pum.

"The film is not necessarily a Hollywood debut for me, rather it is an independent American movie," Song said, Sunday in Busan. "I was very comfortable acting because I was working with people who loved movies."

A joint U.S.-Korea production, "Make Yourself at Home" is described as a psychological thriller about a woman shaman Sook-hee, who chooses to live an ordinary life in the United States. She marries a Korean-American named Peter, played by Arno Frisch.

Song's character in the film is something of a femme fatale, a role that is new to the actress who has played mostly sweet, innocent characters in popular Korean dramas like "Full House" and "All In."

"The role was a challenge because it is a character that I have never played before. I didn't choose it to change my image, I chose the work because I liked the overall feeling I got from reading the scenario," Song said.

Song's dialogue in the film is about 80 percent in English. "It was really difficult. The staff all turned into English teachers and corrected my pronunciation. I am grateful to them," she said.

NISI20081005_0000119189_web.jpg

Her co-stars only had good things to say about Song. Firsch praised Song's professionalism on the set.

When asked about Song's English ability, co-star Athena Curry said it was "excellent."

Song admitted she hopes to make it in Hollywood, following in the steps of other Korean stars like Kim Yun-jin and Rain. "I believe that I can work hard to make it in Hollywood, by steadily making movies," she said.

Interview from the drama set with Song Hye-gyo

October 6th, 2008 // by javabeans

200810010482.jpg

With Song Hye-gyo gearing up to come back to television, she’s again in the spotlight (not that she’s ever really out of it) after taking some time since her last project, the high-budget flop that was the film Hwang Jini. (Her performance was seen as passable, but the movie itself was not a success.)

DongA.com conducted an interview with the actress while on set for her new KBS drama The World They Live In (director Pyo Min-su, writer Noh Hee-kyung), co-starring Hyun Bin.

With her thirties approaching (she’s 28, Korean age), she mentioned that she’d likely be turning her thoughts seriously to marriage once she’s in her thirties. She said up-front, “t would be nice to have a boyfriend. I think I’d like best someone I could connect with through conversation.” Of course, she recognizes that as a top star, this is easier said than done, with one’s every action under the strict scrutiny of others.

This is, in fact, something she’s learned from her past experience as part of a high-profile star couple (she dated Lee Byung-heon after the two starred in the drama All In). “The viewers suddenly learned, while in the midst of watching a drama I was acting in, that I was somebody’s girlfriend. In the end, this was an obstacle and only served to create a sense of dislike among viewers.”

Now she’s learned to draw a clear line between private and public life. Furthermore, she’s changed her outlook on projects, saying that while she’d previously chosen her projects thinking of overseas exposure, “now I won’t hesitate to take risks. I want to be a prolific actor and work in a variety of genres and characters, and experiment as much as I want.”

200810010483.jpg

It hasn’t seemed that long, but it’s actually been four years since you were in a drama.

“Maybe it’s because the dramas are re-aired. In the summer it’s always Full House, in the fall it’s Autumn Fairy Tale, and All In in the winter. Cable television keeps airing them.”

In this drama, your occupation is a drama PD.

“I’ve because I’ve seen this as keeping a promise with director Pyo Min-su, whom I worked with on Full House. Joining with him again was a clear choice, and I’d always wanted to do something that scriptwriter Noh Hee-kyung had written. I like her writing so much that it makes acting more difficult, and I’m more careful for fear I won’t do well.”

Through your work in the drama, you’ve seen the perspective as a PD. Have you wondered what it is that a PD desires of the actors?

“Isn’t it enough to act well?” [Laughs.]

What kind of change will we see in twenty-eight-year-old Song Hye-gyo as an actor?

“If I stay up all night even once, I’ll have dark circles under my eyes. As an actor, I think my sense of responsibility has grown stronger. I’ve also come to want to achieve more in my acting.”

You look like you’ve lost some weight and matured.

“I think so too, say if I watch the drama Autumn Fairy Tale and compare myself with how I am now. Back then, it was like I was practically bursting. [Laughs.] In the end, constant exercise is the answer. I run, cycle, and do a lot of outdoor exercise.”

Song Hye-gyo shines more in dramas than in movies.

“Wait and see. I’ll show you more in my film work.”

When you finish this drama, you have John Woo’s film 1949 awaiting you.

“Starting in February, filming will begin and I’ll be going back and forth to Taiwan and China to cities like Shanghai. I’ll be swamped as I work on the drama and study Chinese at the same time. This drama will go on record as being the drama with the most amount of dialogue that I work on in my life. Or in other words, it’s one hurdle after another.”

Your Hollywood debut film Make Yourself at Home was invited to this year’s Pusan International Film Festival.

“It’s an independent film. It’s marketed as a Hollywood debut, which is a very big burden. I’d merely thought of it as a plot I liked, combined with my desire to try something in the English language.”

What is the everyday Song Hye-gyo like?

“When I’m not working, I travel, hang out with friends, and take the chance to learn things I’d been wanting to learn. I cook at home occasionally. I can do most Korean food pretty well — my mother says that my cooking is better.”

Southern Dramas Available in N. Korea

By Park Si-soo

Staff Reporter

allin_gif2.gif

Various video and audio productions from capitalist countries are becoming more widely available in North Korea, with the authorities becoming more lenient on those enjoying such contents. Previously North Koreans could be subject to life-long jail terms or even capital punishment, according to a white paper on human rights in North Korea released Monday.

The Korean Bar Association published the survey of 100 North Korean defectors who fled the North after 2000.

The annual report has been published since 2006 to monitor human rights violations in the communist country.

The report said a growing number of North Koreans watch Korean soap operas or movies smuggled in from China and Japan. Military officers and security guards are no exception.

"In 2004, a military officer boasted to me, saying he had watched popular Korean dramas such as 'All In,' starring actor Lee Byung-hun, and 'Winter Sonata,' starring Bae Yong-joon and Choi Ji-woo,'' the book said, quoting an unidentified North Korea defector.

Another defector testified he witnessed in 2003 a 20-something man selling reproduced "Winter Sonata" videotapes at Wonsan, a port city on the east coast of North Korea. Some added they had watched pornography with security guards responsible for preventing people from watching such material.

Lenient punishments combined with corruption are primarily attributable to the growing demand for such material in the reclusive state, it said.

"Before 2000, those detected watching or listening to South Korean programs were sent to labor camps. But now most are fined or released in exchange for a bribe," a defector testified.

One North Korean said, "I was caught smuggling in 25 radios from S. Korea in 2001. But I was not punished at all."

He added it had been common for those living in border areas to watch or listen to South Korean and Chinese programs.

Song Hye-kyo Returns to Small Screen

By Han Sang-hee

Staff Reporter

081021_p14_song.jpg

Actress Song Hye-kyo, left, and Hyun Bin to star in new drama 'Worlds Within'

Korean dramas are full of entertainment, with cliched yet dramatic plots, cute and handsome male characters, both main and supporting, and always a young pretty heroine.

Among these heroines is Song Hye-kyo, 26, who will appear in the new drama "Worlds Within." She returns to the small screen for the first time in four years after her hit series "Full House" with top singer/actor Rain.

"For the past four years, I have been working on three films and so I was more accustomed to the movie filming atmosphere. TV dramas require quick reactions and with help from the director, I'm now back on track,'' Song said at a press conference of the program Monday at a hotel in Seoul.

The makers of the drama also made headlines, as the producer Pyo Min-soo, who brought "Full House," and writer Noh Hee-kyeong have teamed up. It is the first time in six years for the makers to get together for a program.

Despite criticism that large-scale dramas lack depth in both plot and charm, Pyo said the series will be bigger than any program he has worked on.

"I'm trying to bring reality to the drama making process which takes place within "Worlds Within." The scale has become larger than before, and to be frank, I was worried if I could manage it all,'' he said.

But Pyo assured that he will try to show even the smallest details of the daily lives of producers.

Song plays Joo Jun-young, a producer working her way in the male dominated world of drama creators. Actor Hyun Bin will play her mentor, who makes Joo's character's life miserable at first, but later discovers his affection toward the hard-working and passionate newcomer.

"My character is much like a tomboy. I try to portray the look by being as natural as possible, but I don't try too hard by getting messy. It's the most realistic character I've done in my career," said Song.

The actress has indeed played various roles, from a dying patient and poker dealer to a silly student. Song made her debut as a model, becoming the winner of a school uniform model competition at the age of 14.

She then played the character of a cute and clumsy student in the hit sitcom "Sunpung" (1998), but failed to make a lasting impression among fans.

Song finally made it big starring in "Autumn Fairy Tale" with Song Seung-heon in 2000 and "All In" with Lee Byung-hun in 2003. The dramas' popularity soared not only in Korea, but also abroad including Japan, Taiwan and Europe, and Song finally became one of "Korea's sweethearts."

However, she failed to bring her charm to the big screen with her first movie "My Girl and I". Song continued her journey in the movie industry with the historical film "Hwang Jin-yi."

She recently acted in the American indie movie "Make Yourself at Home" and finally, John Woo's upcoming movie "1949" along with Taiwanese actor Chang Chen.

"The dramas that I worked on were successful, but not the movies. I still have many opportunities, and I will not be discouraged. I think actors grow as they taste failure and so I don't have any fears about the drama not becoming popular,'' she said.

"Worlds Within" starts Oct. 27 at 9:55 p.m. on KBS.

SHG and Yoo Min ( the GF of Michael Jang and the tutor of IN Ha Kim in ALL IN) had a guesting in a Fuji TV show. I think the title is FUJI TV 구탄누보 (Gutannubo) shown last OCT 29, 2008. Nice to see them together. Sorry will have to find translations for that. They were speaking in Japanese and Korean. At the start during the intro, of course ALL IN was featured.

Thanks zashi for the wonderful update, that is good to know.. the 'Inha girls' had a reunion.. if they had included PSM, that would perfect. :P Quite unexpectedly that All In is still mentioned here and there (esp. in Japan).. of course there's Yoo Min acting in the drama series as well.

Is there any pics for this show? It'll be lovely to share it at the thread.

Hi jacqueline! Welcome to All In.. so cool to see you here and the photos are just fabulous! Thanks so much for sharing with us.

It's always a great thing to note about the drama series and Jeju.. both definitely go hand in hand so well. Even after 5 years and counting, the location of the prominent All In house still looking great and continuously becoming a popular tourist destination for the island, too.

From the photos we can see that the spot for the house is simply breathtaking.. the production had chosen a really good location for the filming.

Song Hye Kyo Admits She Can’t Forget Her First Love

20081103075756.jpg

Korean star Song Hye Kyo has revealed her current love status during a recent program with Japan’s Fuji Television.

The Japanese reporter knew that Lee Byung Hun is a top Korean star and more importantly also the ex-boyfriend of Song Hye Kyo, therefore the reporter asked: “Viewers would really like to know your current love status, are you having a boyfriend now?” In response, Song Hye Kyo replied: “I do not have a boyfriend at the moment. Although I yearn to be in a love relationship freely, but as an artiste, it isn’t easy trying to strike a balance between work and love. Having a dinner seems like the only possibility even if I’m dating.”

When asked “What kind of moves or gestures from a man could make you feel the love?”, Song Hye Kyo said: “When two of us are having random chats and after some time he is still able to remember the details of the conversation.”

When asked “Your most unforgettable love?”, Song Hye Kyo opened her heart and said: “It’s my first love. I met him again after 2 years of break up and was really hurt when I saw him together with another woman.”

“Have you have the experience of patching up after breakup?” Song Hye Kyo said: “There are too many. There are many cases where I took the initiative to call for a patch up. Usually they would promise me that they will not make the same mistake again. But it was useless, we would break up again because of the same reason.”

As for the reason of the breakup, Song Hye Kyo said: “It can be a very minor thing or a small lie. A woman would want to know everything about her man. Although some things can be temporary covered up through lies, but it will pose a big problem in the future.”
