This thread seems so dead... even after episode 0 came out LOL I seem to have more hope in this drama than i did for dream high 2 because the same director, scriptwriter, and producer of AM1997 collaborated for this 

isn't anyone excited??!?? I thought more people would be hyped for this drama because AM1997 was so loved

Well, i'll definitely watch this because i like the plot and that is in college and not another highschool one,a big plus to me...Watched the OST MV and i already like the umbrella couple,how the guy tosses his own to be with the girl,so cute...I know most of the actors and i like them so i hope it will be a good one...from the MV it looks promising and good so i'm in...I'll wait for the actual drama to start so i hope the ratings will be good,i for one will not compare it with AM1997 at all :)>-

I just finished episode 0 on viki with 60% english subs and the feel of the drama is actually quite similar to AM1997's (with the cinematography, fangirls, and all that hair-yanking-while-yelling ordeal), except its characters seem to be more mature to being with. I was glad that even in the preview episode, the nostalgia can still be felt, even if it doesn't hit as hard as AM1997 because I wasn't even born yet in 1994 LOL. So in the future episodes to come starting next week, i don't think we will be THAT disappointed. After all, sequels/prequels from TvN don't seem to be as crappy/chaotic as the ones made by MBC/KBS/SBS as someone mentioned above. 
Compared to AM1997, i think that this time around they tried to make each major character(people in the boarding house) have more depth and development unlike Bang Sung Jae and Danji in AM1997 where they hardly changed at all throughout the drama. like what @czakhareina said, i believe that the narrative, story, and the direction of this drama keep its audience on their toes, hopefully. 

I don't think this one can beat AM1997 though, but I still have hope for it. And if it surpasses AM1997(which is like a 3.56745% chance), then woohoo. But for now on a scale of 10, if AM1997 is like a 13/10(because i love it so much it's my favorite drama of all time), then i hope that AM1994 can be like a 8/10 at least.

on a side note(i know its off topic) Dream high was like a 10/10, but dream high 2 was like a freaking pathetic 2.5/10.... i definitely think this won't happen for AM1994.

@GreenTeandSASHIMI woah you are young, well way younger than me, was already up running and climbing tress feeling like a monkey when 1994 hit. Was still too young to remember everything around that time but I've got a pretty good impression on 1993 and 1994. My first memories was within those years....

I envy you being able to watch in viki, from my country we are restrited so I have to wait from gooddrama or dramacrazy to upload it. Hhhmmmnnn so miss a couple of years back when viki did not do restrictions or when mysoju was still up and running...
I kinda agree with you regarding this being awesome but still will not top AM1997. personally speaking korea still hasn't yet fully grasp the concept or formula for sequel/season2 much like other countries(like right now I super love season 3 of teen wolf compared to season1). though they made decent season 2, their season 1 still is the best, that goes for vampire prosecutor and god's quiz series. Both are awesome season are awesome just that season 1 is a notch or half a notch more awesome.
Hope there would be screen caps posted here on AM1994 today....

Wonder who updated the first page??  :-/ I was unable to visit Soompi until today??  :-O
