배우 겸 가수 김현중 주연의 드라마 '감격시대'가 2014년 첫 KBS 수목 드라마로 전파를 탄다.

'Inspiring Age', which stars actor cum singer Kim Hyun Joong, will be the 1st KBS Wed-Thurs drama of 2014.


'감격시대'의 홍보를 맡은 플레이스 측은 17일 오후 보도자료를 통해 "1930년대 상하이를 무대로 한·중·일 낭만주먹들의 세계를 그려나갈 '감격시대'는 150억이 넘는 제작비를 쏟아 붇는 초대형프로젝트로 KBS의 2014년 최고의 기대작이다"며 "상하이를 주요 배경으로 하는 만큼 중국 현지 초대형 야외 세트장이 준비되고 있으며, 촉박한 일정에도 불구하고 완성도 높은 드라마를 선보이기 위한 제작진과 출연진의 노력이 1월 편성 확정으로 더욱 탄력을 받을 것으로 기대된다"고 밝혔다.

The PR for 'Inspiring Age', PLACE (transliteral) revealed in a press release on 17th, "'Inspiring Age' which has a production cost of 15 billion won and more will be KBS' 2014 Blockbuster". He added, "Shanghai, China will be the main background location we will be shooting at; a huge outdoor set is also currently in midst of preparations. Despite a tight schedule, in order to show to our audiences a drama with high quality produced with our production team, staff and actors' hard efforts, we believe we can anticipate a stronger synergy with the confirmation of a January 2014 airing schedule".

배우들도 해외 로케이션이나 제반 준비 상황 때문에 촬영 일정이 어느 정도 늦춰지리라는 상황을 인지하고 있던 터라 방영 시기보다는 드라마의 완성도가 더 중요하다는 데 뜻을 모으고 있다는 게 '감격시대' 측의 설명이다. "1월 편성이 확정됨으로 '감격시대'의 배우와 제작진은 심기일전하는 분위기로 돌입해 더욱 좋은 작품으로 시청자를 만나겠다는 각오를 다지며 더욱 뜨겁게 촬영에 대한 열의를 불태우고 있다"는 전언이다.

They have also explained that the actors understand that the shooting schedules are being compromised here and there due to overseas location shooting as well as production preparations, but they too also feel that it is more important for the drama to come out well, more so than the drama's airing issue. "With the now-confirmed airing schedule to be in the coming January, our actors and production team has since taken a turn in the state of minds as we will now all work harder to produce an even better work for our audiences and put in our might for the shooting".


'감격시대'는 화려한 스케일과 액션으로 1930년대 한·중·일을 대표하는 '낭만주먹'들이 펼쳐내는 사랑과 의리, 우정의 환타지를 보여줄 감성 로맨틱 느와르다. 김현중과 함께 배우 임수향과 조동혁, 한정수 등이 캐스팅돼 촬영을 준비 중이다.

'Inspiring Age' is a romantic noir set in the 1930s Shanghai which depicts about Love, Loyalty and Friendship. The drama stars Kim Hyun Joong, Lim Soo Hyang, Kim So Eun, Jo Dong Hyuk, Han Jung Su, etc and are in midst of drama preparations.

Besides involved in KBS "Glitter" not sure she is still filming as Season 1 has already wrapped up and  it's a blessing that AOF is delayed since Kim So-eun is currently busy filming "After School Bokbulbok" a rom-com high school drama.

^Yes, 'Glitter' has ceased production two weeks ago. As for her webtoon, the filming has been completed months ago. 'Vertigo' is the only project she has on her plate apart from AOF.

ok I been away for a whole day and I this news of postpone? This is too shocking for me bc I been waiting for so long to watch KHJ on a new drama.  I was shock but after reading all your comments I still have hope that is just a postpone date. so now I have to edit the 1st page right? so AoF will be airing on January 2014 on Wednesday and Thursday right?

@06skull06 KHJ having a helper and its a girl lol usually on other dramas they have a boy that helps the main lead but in here its a girl lol. This has to be interesting to watch. I like her from I hear your voice. She acted there too right? Or i am confusing her?

Fans waiting eagerly for Kim Hyun Joong's return to the small screen will have to wait a little longer. Instead of airing in November, his new drama "Inspiring Generation" will now be shown early in 2014.

His upcoming drama has been replaced by Jang Geun Suk's new drama "Pretty Boy."

It's not a question of preference, say the producers. It's just that "Inspiring Generation" has proven to be a more complicated drama to film. As "Inspiring Generation" is a story set in 1930s Shanghai, the shooting schedule is dependent on the cooperation of the Chinese government and they have delayed permits for filming due to the Chinese mid-autumn festival.

"In order to start broadcasting in November, we have to start filming in China now," said Lee Kang Hyun, director of KBS drama production. "However, because of certain Chinese holidays, the permission to film has been delayed.

Shooting will resume in November.

"If the location permit is delayed, then the 1930 Shanghai backdrop of the drama will not be complete, and that was a concern," said Lee.  "We thought that even if we have to postpone filming and fill that spot with another project, it would be better to capture the full essence of this new drama."

"Inspiring Generation" is based on a manga of the same name, which focuses on love, friendship and patriotism.

It has been two years since singer and actor Kim Hyun Joong was last seen on the small screen. After appearing in "Boys Over Flowers' as the sensitive Ji Hoo, he had a leading role in "Playful Kiss" in 2010. He was cast in the drama "City Conquest," but earlier this year KBS denied the drama a time slot. 

Kim was cast in "Inspiring Generation" after Lee Jun Ki and Kwon Sang Woo turned down the role due to scheduling conflicts. Also called "Age of Feeling," the drama's cast currently includes Lim Soo Hyang, Jo Dong Hyeok, Kim So Eun and Han Jung Soo.

"'Inspiring Generation' is a drama with very high expectations because Kim Hyun Joong is cast in it, so we want to make sure we can show viewers a complete drama that will fulfill those high expectations," said Lee Kang Hyun.

Netizens hope that the suspension of "City Conquest" and the delay in filming "Inspiring Generation" will not discourage Kim Hyun Joong from acting. When he was first cast as Ji Hoo in "Boys Over Flowers," he was reluctant to take an acting role as he thought it would detract from his musical career. But the fan base for his music as part of the band SS501 and as a solo singer has only grown because drama fans that discovered him onscreen also wanted to buy his music.

its awfully quiet here. I guess the delay of the broadcast also equaled to delay filming thus also delay in updates..
hhmmnnnn.. really want to hear more about this drama, heard that the the children version started filming, I wish they would post some update on that..A picture, a place, a backstory.. or anything...
