KimDdalgi
[Hyun Bin | Kwave Go Article]: Korean Films To Watch Out in 2022 Chen Rivor | KWAVEGO 06 Jan 2022 Which movies are you looking forward to watch this year? The year 2022 is shaping up to be a major one for the movie business, with a massive slate of films set to hit theaters. Several delayed blockbusters, such as "Emergency Declaration," "Life is Beautiful," and "Hero," have been rescheduled for release in 2022 as a result of the pandemic. New films from directors such as Kim Han-min, Choi Dong-hoon, and Kim Yong-hwa will give viewers more options. For their feature directorial debuts, some actors will also expand their talents behind the camera. Long-awaited film sequels will be among the year's most anticipated releases. On January 26, "The Pirates: Goblin Flag," a sequel to the 2014 action picture "The Pirates," will be released in theaters. Kang Ha-neul and Han Hyo-joo star in the upcoming picture, which promises a new adrenaline-pumping storyline and a cast of new faces. In 2014, the previous film, starring Son Ye-jin and Kim Nam-gil, grossed almost $8.7 million in theaters. The sequel to the 2017 crime action thriller "The Outlaws," "The Roundup," is set to hit theaters in the first half of 2022. Ma Dong-seok, also known as Don Lee in the United States, will reprise his iconic role as Ma Seok-do, with Son Suk-ku joining the cast as the villain for the first time. In 2017, more than 6.9 million people saw "The Outlaws." This year will see the release of "Confidential Assignment 2," a sequel to the 2017 action comedy film "Confidential Assignment." It follows North Korean detective Lim Cheol-ryung (Hyun Bin) and South Korean police detective Kang Jin-tae (Yoo Hai-jin) as they work together to complete a top-secret mission. In 2017, 7.8 million tickets were sold for the first installment. A few films that were shot in other countries during the pandemic will be released at long last. "The Point Men," starring Hwang Jung-min and Hyun Bin, is based on a true story about 23 South Korean missionaries who were kidnapped and held prisoner in Afghanistan in 2007. Due to the spread of the coronavirus, the filming of the hostage crisis thriller, which was shot at least partially in Jordan, had to be postponed. In the second part of 2022, it will be released in theaters. This year, the crime drama film "Bogota: City of the Lost," starring Song Joong-ki, will be released. Due to the pandemic, the company's production was disrupted. Filming began in Colombia in January 2020, as the film chronicles the stories of Koreans who relocated to Colombia in the 1990s in quest of a better life. The production team, however, had to halt production a few months later due to the epidemic, which compelled film and television shoots to take a break. In June of last year, production resumed in Korea, and filming was completed in October. "Alien," a two-part blockbuster about aliens living in Korea who travel back in time to the Joseon era, will be directed by Choi Dong-hoon, the director of the commercially successful films "The Thieves" (2012) and "Assassination" (2015). (1392-1910). Kim Tae-ri, Ryu Jun-yeol, and Kim Woo-bin star in the lead roles. "Hansan: Rise of the Dragon," directed by Kim Han-min, who previously directed "Roaring Currents" (2014), is a new naval epic centered on Admiral Yi Sun-sin, a legendary historical figure. With nearly 17 million moviegoers, "Roaring Currents" (2014) is by far the highest-grossing picture in Korea. "The Moon," a sci-fi blockbuster starring Seol Kyung-gu, Kim Hee-ae, and EXO's D.O., will be directed by Kim Yong-hwa, the filmmaker behind the success of the "Along with the Gods" franchise. Kang Je-kyu, whose first film, "Taegukgi: Brotherhood of War," (2004), gained 10 million viewers, will release "Boston 1947," a documentary on Korean athletes competing in the 1947 Boston Marathon. Lee Jung-jae, the star of "Squid Game," and actor Jung Woo-sung, who most recently produced Netflix's original series "The Silent Sea," will both make their directorial debuts this year. Lee will portray special agent Park Pyung-ho in his first action picture, "Hunt," set in the 1980s when the dictatorial rule was at its pinnacle, and will pursue down a North Korean spy while coming to terms with the reality about his country. "Guardian," Jung's first film, tells the story of a man who seeks to safeguard his estranged daughter when she is kidnapped by a hired killer. bearcreek
Hyun Bin <The Point Men> Director Im Soonrye interview in Cine21 Korea January issue ”As an outsider, Daesik wandered around the Middle East and were glutton free to think and act” ~ Director Im Soonrye Cast Hyun Bin as Daesik, NIS Agent Hwang Jungmin as Jaeho, [Director Im Soonrye interview ] When a release date is set, we are preparing everything so that it can be released immediately at any time. “The Point Men” is a film based on the sensitive true story of the 2007 Sammul Church missionary abduction in Afghanistan, and it does not take the narrative structure of a typical genre film in which villains, heroes, and innocent victims are accurately distinguished. A sensitive story where new faces collide I thought it would be interesting to focus this story on people who are responsible for the safety of the people, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Intelligence Service. Since this incident occurred in the process of militant missionary activities of the abductees, there were difficulties from the beginning of the story. Hyun Bin) I had to be able to follow the lines of the two main characters well. It was difficult and important to get an exquisite stance. Jae-ho is a competent diplomat and a competent negotiator, while Dae-shik is an outsider who has been wandering around the Middle East. Jae-ho has a logical and rational way of thinking, and Dae-shik is free to think and act. The two characters sometimes clash in personalities and sometimes because of differences in the positions of the departments in which they work. Hyunbin is personally close to Hwang Jungmin , but the two of them have never acted together. Perhaps because there is human trust in each other, I felt that kind of bond between the two of them in their two-shot. Of course, in the play, they appear in a relationship where they are arguing with each other. Even though it was not a typical blockbuster, it was an investment, good actors were attached, and talented staff participated. Scenery and people in the movie may be unfamiliar, but you will find beauty in unfamiliar things and universal things in unusual things. Religious extremism is the beginning of the story, but you can think of universal, common sense, and precious values in it. The film focuses on the humanistic activities of the two main characters who try to somehow safely rescue abducted Koreans. As an outsider, we wandered around the Middle East and were a glutton free to think and act. https://theqoo.net/index.php?mid=hyunbin&document_srl=

bearcreek
Hyun Bin <Confidential Assignment 2> Director Lee Seokhoon interview with Cine21 Korea A new Korean film project in 2022: 'Confidential Assignment 2' Director Lee Seok-hoon 2022.01.13. 6:17pm Written by: Song Kyung-won | CINE21 Make the street battle in the middle of New York more realistic than it really is <Confidential Assignment 2> Producer JK Film and CJ ENM Co-production Film Company Founding Director Seok- Hoon Lee Starring Hyun Bin, Yoo Hae-jin, Lim Yoon-ah, Daniel Henney, Jin Seon-kyu Distributed by CJ ENM Release point in 2022. If you narrow down the genre of <Confidential Assignment 2> to one, it is a family movie. There is cooperation between North and South American detectives, and there is a larger scale and attractions, but it is the story of the family that firmly supports it. Director Lee Seok-hoon said he likes the nickname 'specialized in family films'. “I hope it will be a movie that the whole family can enjoy watching during holidays or vacations.” Bigger, more colorful. It's a sequel's formula, but the key lies in the sympathetic story that will support this spectacle. This is also the force behind the return of the second part of <Confidential Assignment>, which depicts the companionship of North and South detectives. Director Lee Seok-hoon said, "The idea was very interesting. In addition to the cooperation between the North and South Korean detectives, the triangular cooperation with the joining of the American detectives is an exquisite reflection of the situation on the Korean Peninsula.” What kind of relationship did you have with <Confidential Assignment 2>? Director Lee: While working on several films at JK Film, I saw the process of making <Confidential Assignment> from the beginning of the script. <Himalaya> was produced right after the filming of <Himalayan> at JK Film, and <Himalaya> staff participated a lot. That's why I'm not like anyone else and it's a movie I fell in love with. One day, I met Director Yoon Je-gyun by chance at another premiere, and he joked about <Confidential Assignment 2>. At that time, I never thought I would be in charge, but this is what happened. (Laughs) The high concept of cooperation between Korea, the United States and Japan is interesting. Director Lee: Although the geopolitical and political background of the Korean Peninsula is included, <Confidential Assignment 2> is still a criminal film. In terms of genre, the color of comedy is also strong. It is the chemistry between the actors that fills the background with detailed elements for probability and sympathy and actually fills most of them, and the fun situations unfolding endlessly. Because it is a realistic political relationship, it can be said that it is a comedy that approaches more realistically. Compared to the first part, it is much lighter. In the first part, the story of 'Lim Cheol-ryeong (Hyun Bin) taking revenge on his wife' came quite heavy, but in the second part, the characters were relatively free. Is it a competition for pride between North and South American detectives? I put a lot of effort into the cute elements that can be a little more tiki-taka. There must be advantages and disadvantages of a sequel.Director Lee: The advantage is that there is a certain amount of learning about the characters. Application There are many elements that can be repeated and various modifications can be tried. If the signature action of the first episode was to subdue the enemy with a tissue, this time, we prepared a different attraction. It was also good to deepen the relationship between the characters. Not to mention the actors breathing. I heard that, like the sequel, the spectacle has been strengthened. Director Lee: Due to Corona 19, overseas locations were not available, so we reproduced a street fight in the middle of New York through set and CG. If it's a phone call, you'll be able to meet a screen that exceeds expectations. There are bigger things to see, more laughter, and a sympathetic story that the family can watch together. It would be perfect if one day we could age together with movies like in the <Recell Weapon> series.
