The Influence’s teaser poster and preview

February 12th, 2010 // by javabeans

The official poster has been released for “mystery digital blockbuster” The Influence, and my main question is: Considering that it stars one of Korea’s top A-listers (Lee Byung-heon) and the nation’s “Barbie doll” (Han Chae-young), that’s the best they could do? (It looks so cheesy!)

The preview is also out (watch below) for the thriller, which seems to thrive on cryptic plotlines: Lee plays “W,” who can travel through time over 100 years, while Han is “J,” his love interest who is locked in a tank called “Jubilee.” The movie is about a promise that doesn’t change and which must be kept through the years. A shadowy group called the “DJC” figures heavily in the mystery.

The full movie will be released online in early March.

Thanks very much to the highlight & info by veve111 at EverythingLBH

Korea's whisky brand WINDSOR is sponsoring 'The Influence', which explains the financial support for the online digital movie production & release compared to the usual drill. Probably no wonder Lee Byunghun's character is called W.. no? :P

Han Chae Young does wire work for the first time

by GhostWriter on February 22, 2010

If you didn’t know, Han Chae Young will be starring opposite Lee Byung Hun in a movie called The Influence. One of the more memorable scenes for Han Chae Young was being hung in the air by just wires as she acted out a scene which will be CG later with water around her.

The movie is directed by Lee Jae Kyu, who did Beethoven Virus earlier and is about a love story that transcends a 100 years. Lee Byung Hun plays a character who can travel through time by will while Han Chae Young plays his lover who willingly traps herself in a big ice box to keep him alive.

To mimic a particular water scene, Han Chae Young was just hung by 2 wires as she remained above ground for some time. Despite it being her first time doing wire work, Han Chae Young did not show any discomfort and was even able to change positions with ease when directed. She expressed that her figure skating skills that she picked up when she was young really helped her a lot this time, especially with balancing in the air and maintaining her poise.

The digital movie has completed filming and is currently in post-production. It will debut through the internet on March 3rd.

Lee Byung-hun tests his star power with online film project

"The Influence," produced by Windsor Entertainment and Realize Pictures, has three parts, the first of which will be unveiled today at its homepage (www.the-djc.com).

Lee Jae-kyu, who makes a directorial debut with the online mystery flick, has gained reputation with his popular TV dramas such as "Damo" and "Beethoven Virus."

lhy201003021811560.jpg

The mystery film, set in a time period between 1907 and 2010, stars the Korean Wave heartthrob Lee, Han Chae-young, Chun No-min, and Kim Tae-woo. Lee plays a guide named W for a highly secretive place, Diamond Jubilee Club, where time and space get entangled over promises made years ago, with lethal consequences lurking.

W appears to be romantically related to J (Han Chae-young), a beautiful woman who for some reason gets trapped in a giant water tank. Into the complex relationship between W and J enters an auctioneer (Chun No-min), who is forced to make an irreversible and potentially precarious decision at the club. Lee Byung-hun, whose soaring popularity in Korea and Japan is comparable to Hallyu star Bae Yong-joon, recently boosted his profile outside Asia last year by playing a supporting role in a Hollywood flick "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra."
