melusine
^According to her sked, they've already started filming this August. Oh, Ha Jung-Woo is a fantastic actor! I have absolutely no worries on that score. For starters check out the 2 movies from his breakout year 2008--The Chaser and My Dear Enemy in which he plays a serial killer and a charming freeloading ex-boyfriend, respectively--his versatility will bowl you over. If you're more into dramas, he was also in H.I.T. opposite Go Hyun-Jung. But imo movies suit him better. Reportedly when HJW first read the Love Fiction script, he rolled on the floor laughing <source>. And it's a GREAT sign that the director is a fan of dialogue-heavy screwball romantic comedies like His Girl Friday <source> <source>. So I really really hope the movie will be good. But mostly I'm just over the moon that these two amazing actors are finally doing a movie together. Though it's a given that they would totally rock this kind of film, I like that the premise sounds refreshingly atypical. Not sure how close they are in real life, but they're pretty friendly since they belong to the same agency (which is also producing the film). He's escorted her to 2 events, and they've done 2 ad campaigns together. APAN Star Road, PIFF (2007) [Video] Korea Film Awards (2008) [Video] Max Beer (2010) CF 15s [Video] 30s [Video] CF Making [Video] [Photos] The North Face (2010) [Video] Too bad that this year The North Face replaced Hyo-Jin with Lee Yeon-Hee (ending her 3-year contract with them), but that's CFs for ya. Guest Yippi1430281996
Woow, very complete expalanation, Melusine. Big Thanks. You have convinced me that Ha Jung Woo is very remarkable celebrity. I also heard that GHJ will have a "Bed Scene" for the first time in this movie. Hahahahaha... I think it's another surprise from GHJ. I really have huge expectation about this movie. Please let us know if there's a latest news concerning this movie. GHJ, Fighting.....
melusine
^Lol, yeah I'm looking forward to that too, though it'll probably be just a "bed scene" (with air quotes) that's played for laughs. In a 2005 Film2.0 interview, she said she didn't want to do nudity. I wonder if she'll ever change her mind, given the right project.

melusine
Harper's Bazaar, September 2011 via http://twitter.com/#!/Burberry_Korea/status/105831889981538306/ via ikissyou.com, Net to News via http://www.ikissyou.com/IKY_InMagazine/InMagazineBa.asp via Eiffel In Seoul, Eiffel In Seoul (CSW's spread) via Koala's Playground Dokko Jin and Gu Ae-Jung reunite for Harper’s Bazaar September issue. Due to their latest drama “Best Love”, Cha Seung-Won and Gong Hyo-Jin were chosen as the representatives in the yearly “Cinema Angel” project (2011 is the 5th year). This project sets out to create a small-scale charity foundation which uses the money donated to it (in the actors’ and Bazaar’s names) to help out the Korean film industry, including financing for low-budget independent filmmakers. To promote the project, Cha and Gong took part in a photoshoot with a 'lovers' concept for Bazaar Korea wearing Burberry. Although “Best Love” wrapped in June, the two actors have reportedly kept a good rapport and were friendly and comfortable with each other on set. The pictorial and interview will appear in Bazaar's September issue, and a video of the shoot will be released on the Olleh Magazine website. Guest ching22194
I just started watching Best Love and i loved it! She's really an amazing actress. I last saw her in Pasta and she looks great but now she's much thinner or shall i say sexier and most definitely prettier. I like her doing comedy she don't over act like most other actresses, she throws her line perfectly and the best thing i love about her is she plays the role of a woman in love superbly. I hope her movie will be a hit.

GrillinpanDa
I'm absolutely fascinated by Gong Hyo Jin right now! Ever since "Pasta" and "The Greatest Love", I've been just anticipating her next work! She's truly an actress that is recognized by her skill and talent rather by her looks. After reading the interviews that fellow fans here posted, I started to like her character as well. She seems really down to earth and honest to herself. We need more actresses and talents like this in the acting industry! ^^ Thank you to all the previous posts too. Really enjoying the pictures and etc.

Guest ching22194
Madamtongy
Hi, I'm Kong hyo jin's new fan. I fell for her after finished The greatest love. I heard in the news that her nickname is 공블리 but what is it mean, anyone know?
melusine
First of all, hi to both old and new fans of Hyo-Jin! So fantastic that many are (re)discovering her amazingness through Best Love. @ching22194 She's always been thin, but I wouldn't be surprised if she lost a lot of weight while filming Best Love. She's been frank in her interviews that the live-shoot took its toll on the cast and crew, which is why she was reportedly against an extension. (when will K-dramas switch to a more pre-produced system, sigh...) Yeah, one of the things I love most about her is her naturalistic acting, none of the OA/OTT mugging for the camera that some actresses pass off as comedy. I do hope she keeps doing romcoms once in a while, because like you I find it a delight watching her fall in love onscreen. Enjoy watching Sisters on the Road, it's a nice, quiet little film about unconventional family ties. Hyo-Jin and Shin Min-Ah were good in their roles, and for me there was a pleasant meta component knowing that the 2 best friends had a great time acting together. If you get antsy waiting for the next parts to be uploaded on YouTube, you can download the movie via MyAsianCiNEMA or Lets Look. BTW i just want to ask what comes first : acting or print model? Not sure exactly what you mean by your question... If it's what came first, i.e. career history: Hyo-Jin was a teen model before she ventured into acting. But as for what comes first, i.e. what is more important to her now: It is acting, undoubtedly. Modeling for CFs and magazine shoots are just a side benefit. But acting is her vocation. @idealisticintrovert I know, right?! Hyo-Jin is sooo cool. For GHJ completists who haven't seen them, I always rec Thank You, Sang-Doo, Let's Go to School and Ruler of Your Own World--all 3 are great dramas in different ways. Pasta could've been better, but she and Lee Seon-Gyun had wonderful chemistry together. Yay, another Ha Jung-Woo fan! Those 2 acting together is this fangirl's dream come true. And the fact that it's the first big-screen romcom for both--that's just the cherry on top. Ohhh I want so badly for Love Fiction to be good~ Btw, any idea when will Love Fiction be aired? Probably sometime next year. They've only started filming. any news if she will do any new series? i hope she collaborates with lee dong wook. maybe a remake of taiwan hit series Fated to love you. She will fit the role very much! any forum where i can write a request to a director or producer to cast them together? Nope no news, she doesn't do dramas back-to-back (too exhausting, and alternating movies and TV makes for a more diverse filmography). If we're lucky, maybe she'll do one mid- or late 2012. But if not, and she decides to focus on movies for a while, that's cool too. There was a 3 year interval between Thank You and Pasta, during which she did such rich, interesting film work (Crush & Blush, Sisters on the Road, Happiness, M, Dachimawa Lee). Haven't seen Fated to Love You, but I'm aware of its popularity. What's it about and why do you think Hyo-Jin would fit Rainie's role? Wouldn't mind seeing her act opposite Lee Dong-Wook--I've liked him since My Girl, and he always has great chemistry with his leading ladies. Sorry, I can't help you with the request, especially with no particular director/production company/project in mind. Casting involves so many factors of agency wheeling&dealing + star availability + star bankability + prior relationship with the writer/PD/broadcast station etc, that it's doubtful the powers-that-be listen to fans much. I heard in the news that her nickname is 공블리 but what is it mean, anyone know? The press came up with the nickname "Gong-vely" which is a combination of her last name Gong (공) and the English word lovely ('vely' when transliterated into Korean consonants becomes 블리 'beulri'). She's truly an actress that is recognized by her skill and talent rather by her looks. After reading the interviews that fellow fans here posted, I started to like her character as well. She seems really down to earth and honest to herself. We need more actresses and talents like this in the acting industry! ^^ Word. Btw, she recently got a Best Actress nomination for Best Love from the Korea Drama Festival [via DongBangData, Love Kim Hyun Joo] which she eventually lost to Yeom Jung-Ah of Royal Family [via allkpop]. Keep on posting, everyone!
