SBS has released the first stills of Lee Sang Yoonin the upcoming drama “One the Woman”!

“One the Woman” is a comedy drama about a corrupt prosecutor trying to regain her memories after getting amnesia and switching lives with a chaebol daughter-in-law who looks exactly like her. Honey Lee stars as both the prosecutor Jo Yeon Joo and the chaebol daughter-in-law Kang Mi Na. Lee Sang Yoon co-stars as Han Seung Wook, a chaebol heir who still has feelings for his first love.

Han Seung Wook seems to have been born under a lucky star, as he has it all: good looks, a sculpted physique, and a gentle and generous personality. On top of everything else, he is also a chaebol heir. He was born as the son to the next heir of Hanju Group, one of the most prominent corporations in Korea, but when his father suddenly died, he was pushed out of the line of succession.

He lost Kang Mi Na, his first love, as well as his position as the heir, and moved to the United States with his mother. Despite this unexpected setback, he managed to climb back up the social ladder up on his own strength and establish his own corporation, making him a first-generation chaebol rather than a third-generation one. To discover the truth behind his father’s death, he returns to Korea.

The first stills of Lee Sang Yoon in the new role show Han Seung Wook at the airport, wearing sunglasses and a casual shirt, showing the character’s soft charisma and handsome looks. He appears to greet someone with a warm smile, making the atmosphere sunnier in an instant.

The actor said, “It’s been a year and a half since ‘VIP,’ which was the last time that I was on a set. Since it was my first time in a while, I was a little nervous, but the lighthearted director made things comfortable for me and I’m slowly getting used to filming again. There are a lot of actors that I’ve worked with before, and they’re all veterans, so the first time that we acted together, it was comfortable. Honey Lee has such a great personality and is a moodmaker on set, so I’m having fun acting with her.”

He added, “The script has some funny lines and element of comedy in it, and the actors bring it to life really well, so it’s really fun to watch them. I often think, ‘It will all be good as long as I can do well.'”

The production staff stated, “Lee Sang Yoon is a trustworthy actor who gives off a sense that you can depend on him. Please look forward to the role of Han Seung Wook in ‘One the Woman,’ which is more complete because of Lee Sang Yoon’s unique color and appeal.”

“One the Woman” premieres on September 17 after “The Penthouse 3.”

Lee Sang Yoon Shares His Secret To Living Happily, His Changed Outlook On Acting, And More

Lee Sang Yoon Shares His Secret To Living Happily, His Changed Outlook On Acting, And More

Sep 30, 2021
by S. Cho

Lee Sang Yoon spoke with GQ magazine about how his outlook on life and acting has recently changed!

Describing his personal, everyday life, Lee Sang Yoon shared, “It’s very fun. I guess I could call it my second youth. One by one, I’m slowly putting into action all the things I’ve kept in my heart. It adds new energy to my life.”

He elaborated on these new activities, explaining, “After exercising on my own, I’m now receiving guidance from an expert. They’re someone who’s done a lot of research on the body, and they make me do things like handstands and yoga poses. I like that. I really like the energy that comes out of activating parts of my body that I hadn’t been using much. I also ride my motorcycle. For a few years, I had just been planning it without [actually going through with it], but I got my license last fall. I waited for the model I liked to be released, and I bought it this summer. I also became interested in golfing and started playing.”

When asked how he suddenly got into so many different hobbies, Lee Sang Yoon answered, “I think this is the exact time for it to be possible. I was living competitively to get by in my twenties and thirties, so I didn’t have time for that. Now that I’m in my forties, I inevitably have a bit more freedom. I can make more time, and I’m economically supported. Living like this is enjoyable, but I do also wonder whether it’s immature to do what I want at this age.”

Explaining why he feels this way, he shared, “I feel completely fine, but there is such a thing as societal beliefs. Although marriage isn’t necessary… I feel there is a certain perspective where people look at me and think, ‘Is playing around like that still fun?’ Even my friends seem more adult-like than me. There’s a certain responsibility and restraint you get from starting a family. On the other hand, I’m chasing rainbows and have a lot of things I’d like to do.”

The interviewer asked whether he finds acting to be enjoyable, and Lee Sang Yoon responded, “Yes, I’m really curious about acting these days.”

He elaborated, “In the past, I would think, ‘How should I do this? How do I pull this off?’ and acted with the mindset of taking a test. I thought it was most important to convey the exact situation and emotions. Now, my attitude towards acting has changed to ‘How should I try this?'”

Lee Sang Yoon continued, “With ‘How do I pull this off?’ there’s a definitive result of whether you pulled it off or not. In turn, you’re alternately happy and sad. However, if you act with the mindset of ‘How should I try this out today?’, even if it doesn’t turn out as you planned, as long as it’s similar, then that’s okay too. It’s comparatively less stressful, and the acting feels more fun. I like that.”

When asked to name one character he thinks he could redo better if given the chance, Lee Sang Yoon picked his role in “Okay! Madam.” The actor shared, “I occasionally get suppressed by the words ‘Your character has to be like this,’ and this project was one that felt regretful in that aspect.”

He elaborated, “The atmosphere of the film was light and comedic, but my character was different from that. He was serious and weighty. That’s why my thoughts [about the role] were complicated, and I felt really pressured to pull it off any way possible. I think the results would’ve been different if I had my current mindset of acting comfortably. I recently met Im Won Hee on a variety show I went on to promote my drama, and he accurately picked up on this. He said that my acting looked unorganized and that it’d have been better if I’d thought it through less.”

When asked about his own strengths, Lee Sang Yoon picked his concentration, claiming that it’s been quite good since he was young. The interviewer asked how to improve one’s concentration and Lee Sang Yoon responded, “You just need to really want something. If there’s something I’m after, I naturally focus on that. I sometimes get asked, ‘What can I do to be better at studying?’ but in order to do well, you have to really want to do it. When I was a student, I really wanted to be good at studying. So then I focused and was able to do well. In elementary school, I didn’t have that kind of goal, so my grades were obviously a mess.”

At the end, the interviewer commented that Lee Sang Yoon appeared to have found the secret to living life enjoyably. He answered, “I want to live enjoyably and admirably. Then I think I’d be happy.” When asked what was necessary to achieve that, Lee Sang Yoon replied, “Time. There’s so many things I want to do, but I lack time. I wish one year was around 500 days instead of 365. That way you would still just age one year while having so many more experiences.”

Honey Lee and Lee Sang Yoon continue to face danger at every turn in SBS’s “One the Woman”!

“One the Woman” is a comedy drama about a corrupt prosecutor who gets amnesia and switches lives with a chaebol daughter-in-law who looks exactly like her. Honey Lee stars as both the prosecutor Jo Yeon Joo and the daughter-in-law Kang Mi Na, and Lee Sang Yoon co-stars as Han Seung Wook, a third-generation chaebol with feelings for his first love.

Spoilers

In the previous episode, Jo Yeon Joo and Han Seung Wook were in grave danger when someone disconnected the brakes of their car. Thanks to Han Seung Wook’s quick thinking, Jo Yeon Joo was able to meet Ahn Yoo Joon (Lee Won Geun) in the Seopyeong Branch Office and learn her true identity as a prosecutor. However, when Jo Yeon Joo reappeared at the Central District Public Prosecutors’ Office in order to avoid suspicion, Lee Bong Shik (Kim Jae Young) recognized that the prosecutor who chased him at the art auction house is the woman pretending to be Kang Mi Na.

In the new stills, Jo Yeon Joo and Han Seung Wook are out at night when they are suddenly attacked by a mysterious assailant. This mysterious figure, who is targeting Jo Yeon Joo at every turn, puts both their lives in danger. Han Seung Wook’s arm is still injured from the car accident that occurred when their brakes were disconnected, but both he and Jo Yeon Joo look furious at what just happened. At this moment, Jo Yeon Joo collapses with the bad headache that comes when she remembers something new from her past. The two eventually come to the police with their story, prompting curiosity about what kind of incident they were involved in.

The production staff stated, “This scene was born from Honey Lee and Lee Sang Yoon throwing themselves wholeheartedly into their acting. Please look forward to how Jo Yeon Joo and Han Seung Wook, whose fates have become intertwined, escape the darkness that is crowding around them.”

Episode 8 of “One the Woman” airs on October 9 at 10 p.m. KST.
