Singer Rain to hold first Korea solo show in 9 years

Singer and actor Rain, also known as Jung Ji-hoon, is set to reconnect with his longtime fans by holding a concert in Korea for the first time in nine years.

 

Rain announced via his social media Monday that he will stage a solo concert, "2024 RAIN CONCERT: STILL RAINING – SEOUL," at the Olympic Hall in Seoul's Olympic Park on June 8 and 9.

 

Through the online post, the singer humorously said he is "planning to dance until the very end.

 

Expect to be completely breathless." With his trademark wit, he added, "A hospital appointment is scheduled post-performance. My singing will be satisfying."

 

This concert marks a significant milestone, as it follows the "2023 THE RAIN TOUR 'STILL RAINING'" held in the United States in November 2023. It also marks Rain's return to the local stage for the first time in nine years since "RAIN TOUR 'The Squall'" in 2015.

 

Detailed information, including the ticketing schedule, will be announced soon.

 

Rain debuted as a solo singer in 2002, ascending to stardom with a string of hit songs like "How to Run From the Sun" (2003) and "Rainism" (2008). His marriage to top actor Kim Tae-hee in 2017 has blessed him with two daughters.

 

He has recently wrapped up filming for the upcoming Disney+ drama "Red Swan," slated to air in the latter half of the year.

*** On April 18, RAIN uploaded a new episode of his YouTube show 'Season B Season', featuring actors Kim Moo Yul and Park Ji-hwan from the upcoming movie 'The Roundup: Punishment'. Here, he shared how he feels when he sees his children. In the episode, RAIN also revealed that he and Kim Moo Yul attended the same high school. "We were 17 when we first met. I think this is the first time in 25 years that we are doing something together.", RAIN recalled, and added that they went out as a dance duo on a talent show in their first year of school and won first place. When RAIN asked the guests about their plans for this year, Kim Moo Yul said he was planning to take a short break. "I happened to have been busy with projects for a while, so I'm going to take a short break and have plenty of good times with my little one.", Kim Moo Yul, who recently welcomed his first child with his wife, actress Yoon Seung Ah, explained; "That's so sweet.", RAIN expressed. He also commented referring to his 2-daughters, "Sometimes, I'm completely amazed. It's like, 'How can this child be mine?', or, 'I already have kids?'." He also shared that he is attending his child's sports day in school on May 1, which delighted his long-time friend. As Kim Moo Yul excitedly asked what kind of games would be there on the sports day, RAIN answered, "I'm not sure yet, but I'm participating in a race.", which made his friend laugh out loud. Kim Moo Yul teasingly said, "As far as I remember, RAIN is not a good runner. He had an impressive level of strength but was terrible at something like ball games."
