One of the leading issues in the Korean film industry in 2016 is the return of maestro directors recognized on the world stage.

First, the return of director Park Chan-wook  of “Old Boy.” [not translated]

Director Kim Jee-woon of “I saw the devil” is also back after a long time. [not translated]

2016 Korean movies worthy of notice due to:

◆ Original movie growth

◆ Challenging genre for directors

◆ Attracting attention because of actors

By far the movie that is attracting most attention because of its big stars is “Love After Love” due to be released on March 10.  This movie star Park Si Hoo and Yoon Eun Hye, both actors of whom have been caught up in trouble.  The promotion is bound to face difficulties in the process, and it would be challenging for the actors too.

“Love After Love” features two actors who are both struggling.  More attention is focused on the two main actors rather than on the work itself.  Park Si Hoo had a difficult time embroiled in a sex assault scandal, and Yoon Eun Hye was involved in a blatant plagiarism controversy in a Chinese entertainment program.  Park Si Hoo has made a comeback via a cable channel OCN drama “Neighborhood Hero” but its ratings are lower than expected.

After Love and Joy movies release on March 10

Over the past few years Yoon Eun Hye has been seen as an actress equivalent to Jennifer Lawrence and if you haven’t already heard it yet, the Korean actress Yoon Eun Hye will return to the big screen on March 10 in South Korea with After Love as well as Jennifer Lawrence with Joy movie.

It was said about Yoon Eun Hye: "You’ll recognise this K-Princess from dramas Goong, Coffee Prince and I Miss You.

For the crowd that’s still confused, a colleague described her as the Korean equivalent of Hollywood’s Jennifer Lawrence. Eun Hye’s been around for much longer, but just go with that."

Now let's hope that Yoon Eun Hye return to theaters as well as Jennifer Lawrence's one will attract viewers and that South Korea will support these gifted actresses with their movies release on the same day.

Screening date of LAL has been postponed so many times.  The latest was supposed to be March 10, 2016.  When March 10 came and went, we knew it has happened again.  Now at last we have official confirmation from Megabox, Korean cinema chain.
