Popular Post IrisFM
Hello, my first time officially posting here (since mods seem to have moved a number of my DOTS posts to various destinations). I normally post in the DOTS thread to show a little support for my love of the drama and mainly because of Hye Kyo since I've always enjoyed watching her acting since AIMH. DOTS was the very first drama that I actually live streamed from the first to the final episode and also the very first drama discussion that I participate in. Her role as Kang Mo-Yeon is truly amazing, like HyeKyo has described as a matured version of Han Ji-eun in Full House. Another classic drama of her that I continuously re-watch whenever I have nothing better to do or missing her from the screen. I hope we don't have a very long wait for her next drama project. I love watching dramas more since I get to see much more of her. She is an aspiring actress and truly even more so as daughter to her beloved mother. I wish her all the best with her career and also on a personal level of finding a soul mate to cherish her and keep her company for life. I'll respect her privacy and whatever decision she made, is the only little thing I can do for her. I'm just a fan who adore her only. I don't have much to share about Hye Kyo so thanks for all her supporters in here whom provide information about her. ......... She looks lovely in this dress, it actually reminds me of KMY on her first boat trip to Shipwreck beach with Captain YSJ. Popular Post vu_hoa1983
She looks absolutely stunning. I had a girl crush on her since episode 2 of DOTS http://english.yonhapnews.co.kr/news/2016/04/20/0200000000AEN20160420011400315.html Actress Song Hye-kyo: 'Descendants of the Sun' gave me a good opportunity Actress Song Hye-kyo may have been the happiest woman in Korea from last summer to this spring when the TV drama series "Descendants of the Sun" was being filmed. It turned out to be a series full of heartthrob male characters, led by special forces Capt. Yoo Si-jin. The military romance drama shot Song Joong-ki, who played Yoo, to Asiawide stardom, causing many women in the continent to have sleepless nights when the show came on. Song Hye-kyo's character in the series is female surgeon Kang Mo-yeon who develops a romance with Yoo in the fictional war-torn country of Uruk, where Yoo is part of South Korea's peacekeeping force and Kang a volunteer for a medical relief NGO. "I thought the male protagonist's role was really important for the show's success, and he accomplished that difficult job," the actress said during a news conference at a hotel in central Seoul on Wednesday to mark the show's successful closure. "His acting was so good it actually made my heart leap." Broadcast simultaneously in South Korea and China, the 16-episode series concluded with a stunning 38.8 percent viewership last Thursday in South Korea, which is extremely high for weeknight dramas. Questioned about how she feels with the show now over, Song said she would first like to express her thanks for so much love and attention paid to the show by fans. "This work gave me a big opportunity, so I'm really thankful for it," she said. "Descendants" marked her small-screen comeback after the 2013 drama series "That Winter, the Wind Blows." "Many big and small things happened over the past three years. So, this work was really important to me. I worked very hard, thinking this might be my last chance to act," said the 35-year-old actress, apparently alluding to the incident in 2014 when she came under public fire over her 2.5 billion won ($2.4 million) tax evasion fiasco. Despite the show's success, she said there will be no drastic change in her career. "I don't think there will be a turn in my path of life because of the latest success," she said. "I will continue to read screenplays and choose act in one I like."

vu_hoa1983
http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/common/vpage-pt.asp?categorycode=201&newsidx=203067 'Song Joong-ki made my heart flutter': Song Hye-gyo shares thoughts on 'Descendants of the Sun' The impact of a single drama "Descendants of the Sun" seems to be lasting longer and stronger than any other hallyu, or Korean wave, drama than before. Although the two-month-long military romance reached its finale last week, the popularity of the drama is yet to wane, where every comment related to its stars graces headlines. Song Hye-kyo, the heroine of Descendants of the Sun and one of the most influential hallyu stars, finally shared her thoughts about the megahit drama. "Song Joong-ki played his role so attractively, which even made my heart flutter," said Song, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Seoul, Wednesday. "After I finished filming in December, when the drama was aired, I watched it as a viewer and fell for his charms. After all, I'm really happy that the drama ended well." To quench the thirst for the drama, KBS is airing a three-episode special program from Wednesday, which will show some of the highlights and behind-the-scene footage. Below is an excerpt from the interview with Song. Q: You had great romantic chemistry with your co-star Song Joong-ki. Could you share the secret on how to make such great chemistry? A: With the drama, Song has earned a lot of fandom. When I first read the script, I thought that this drama's success depended on how the lead actor plays his part and he made it possible. He played his role so attractively that it even made my heart flutter. That led to the unexpected response from the viewers. Q: You declined Mitsubishi Motor's offer to model. Could you tell us the values that you put on chasing your acting career? A: I was surprised to see the news coverage about that incident. I think even if it were not me, other Korean actors and actresses would have done the same. All of my activities relate to talks with Professor Seo Kyoung-duk, which began after I realized that I couldn't find Korean language booklets at famous museums overseas. While having conversations with Seo, I realized that there are many activities to promote Korean culture, so I joined in. Since I do not know about all historical facts, by consulting with him I'm learning a lot. Whatever others say, I will continue to do what I believe is right. Q: Some pointed out the drama unfolded too fast lacking probability in the last two episodes. Do you agree? A: The drama was filmed to the last scene in advance, which was omitted later before it was aired. Since I read the whole script and acted my part, while I was filming the drama, I never thought about it lacking probability. Although some people have negative views on it, I personally liked the ending and since it was a drama, I think it is acceptable to have such a thing. Q: What is your understanding on your role, Dr. Kang Mo-yeon? She was a rare character for screenwriter Kim Eun-sook to write. A: Kim said that Kang was the first heroine she wrote about who had such a straight talking and confident manner. Before I met with Kim, the character had been not been entirely shaped. When Kim met me and saw my bright side, she retouched the script and that was what created the character Kang. Q: What did you learn from the drama? A: When I was in my 20s, I thought that it might be easier to act. But it didn't get any easier at all. When I begin shooting, I get nervous as I am under pressure to do my job well. Q: What do you personally think about actor Song? A: Song Joong-ki is known for his sincerity and manners. Although there were difficult scenes including the earthquake, Song was the same all the time. The total shooting period for the drama was nearly double that of other dramas. For the whole six months, Song could have been edgy and lose his temper, but he didn't. He is younger than me, but I thought I found many things to learn from him. He did his job perfectly in the drama, and he is such a great person. Q: Your acting has been outstanding in the drama. What kind of actress do you want to be remembered as by viewers? A: Regardless of the success of a drama or film, I will be satisfied if viewers say that my acting has progressed and has gained more depth. I personally think that it is acceptable if I take a step forward and can act with more diverse expressions and feelings. I don't usually paint a big picture on what I'll do in the future. One thing that is clear is that I will do my best in the current place where I am at. Q: What kind of genre or character do you want to do next time? A: There aren't such diverse characters that an actress can do here, compared with actors. It's not that there aren't as many talented actresses as actors. I wish screenwriters would create more diverse female characters, showing different sides of actresses in dramas and films.
enilec_15
OMG I really like her alot since watching DOTS, I dunno why I always have a thing for female lead rather than the male lead I will always watched her facial expressions monitoring her detailed movements, love her crying scenes most. How can someone cried so hard yet still can look so gorgeous!!! And she is looking so stunning in the latest interview, so why all those "matured" dresses during korea and hk PC?
Popular Post twtwb
Song Hye-kyo calls Song Joong-ki the “perfect male lead" Actress Song Hye-kyo said she thoroughly enjoyed filming alongside actor Song Joong-ki and called him the “perfect male lead.”“When I read the script for ‘Descendants,’ I thought that the male lead would have to do a really good job for the drama to succeed,” said the actress, who recently starred as the vivacious Dr. Kang Mo-yeon in the smash-hit TV drama “Descendants of the Sun,” at a press conference Wednesday. “Song Joong-ki did such a good job at achieving that difficult task, and made (the character Yoo Shi-jin) charming. I would sometimes get jittery acting alongside him."“I’ve been in the industry for quite a while now, and I see a lot of junior actors who aren’t like him. (Song) works hard at whatever he does, even with all his fame. ... He did everything a male lead should do perfectly. He is a great guy,” she told reporters at the Four Seasons Hotel in northern Seoul. It has been almost 20 years since Song Hye-kyo debuted on the small screen. She has been lauded not only for her delicate features and petite frame, but also her detailed emotional portrayal; acting, however, is still a “stressful” and “difficult” process for her.“When I was younger, I used to think that if I got a lot of experience and entered my 30s, acting would become easier,” she said. “But it hasn’t been like that at all. Acting is still so hard and I think it will continue to be so. Even now, I get nervous every time I start a new series.” Viewers have praised, often enviously, the 34-year-old actress for sparking excellent chemistry with her fellow actors. She’s starred alongside a heart-throbbing roster of Korea’s most coveted male actors, including Song Seung-heon, Won Bin, Rain, Hyun Bin and most recently, Song Joong-ki. “I try to focus on the person I’m acting with and immerse myself in the scene in order to portray the emotions,” she said. “I think I was able to have good chemistry with male leads because the rhythm between the actors and me fell into place, and because the directors and staff did a good job at capturing that rhythm.”By Rumy Doo (doo@heraldcorp.com) Source: Korea Herald Pic credit to pic owner
vu_hoa1983
Prior to the PC, she had a gathering with DOTS cast. Is this? Ha,no wonder why Private Kibum says he is more loyal to her than to General Shi Jin /SJK

Popular Post smiletall
YAY! Interview articles are coming out and makes me love her more. I feel like several similar interviews/articles have been translated already but here is my own. Again, please properly credit ALL translations posted. And keep this one within this thread unless given permission. Here is the Q&A transcript portion from a naver article: Q: What have you been up to since the drama ended? Because the drama ended so well, I've been very happy. Even though the drama did well, I'm not actually as busy as I thought I would be. Q: What was it like acting together with SJK? SJK-ssi gained a lot of female fans through this drama. It's something to congratulate. When I first read the script, it was fun but I also thought the male protagonist needs to do well in order for the drama to succeed. It was that important, and thankfully SJK-ssi did that difficult thing to do. (t/n: Pretty sure she's making a joke by referring back to YSJ's famous words lol.) He acted so well that even my own heart fluttered when acting with him, so that's probably why the response was so good. Q; Any particular acting secret for [good] chemistry in melodramas? It's not based on my strength alone. For each case, there was good teamwork with my co-star. The staff also helped create a good environment and so I think there was a likewise positive response. Q: Thoughts on the rapid plot development? Because it was a pre-produced project, I never felt that the the story plot was developing quickly when acting. After it was aired, there were viewers who were happy with it and others who considered it negatively. I was happy with the results. I think it's because it is a drama that it could turn out that way. It's because it's a fantasy drama that I'm satisfied with the results. Q: Would you date a man like YSJ in real life? I think I would be scared if I were to date a man like YSJ in real life. The power of his love would have to be strong enough to overcome [that fear] in order to instill enough trust in me. In the first half of the drama, many viewers couldn't understand why KMY couldn't accept a guy who was chasing after her so much. In the latter half, [they said] it was good that she finally opened her heart to him when under more dire circumstances. In reality, if it was that kind of a guy, I would be similar to KMY and consider a lot of things before starting anything. Q: Any scene that made your heart flutter?. Personally, the scene that made my heart flutter was "Should I confess? Or should I apologize?." It made me shiver. In that scene [SJK] acted well and his voice sounded good as well. Q: SJK-ssi quickly became a Hallyu star. Thoughts? Everyone seems to know that SJK-ssi is nice, sincere, and well-mannered, even if I don't say it myself. This drama took about 6 months to film. When there are many difficult scenes to film, like the earthquake scenario, it's normal to become frustrated/annoyed. But JK-ssi was the same from the beginning to the end. I felt like I had a lot to learn from him even though he is younger. Also, despite the fact that he probably had a lot to do himself, he was also taking caring of even the youngest staff members, which was nice (t/n: she literally says 'pretty') to see. I think he's a rare actor to see/come across. We also supported each other a lot. As a male lead actor, he fulfilled the the role perfectly. He's a very cool friend. Q: [KMY] has a girl-crush feel to her. How was it acting [as KMY]? People thought I was acting stingy or prudish, but I thought it was closer to being more manly (t/n: can also be interpreted like a tom-boy). I think that's why I had a lot of female fans. I was told I spoke in a manly way. So I was very satisfied with acting as KMY. I had to think of my image and still had to hold down a bit in comparison to my own personality, but it was fun to act as KMY. Q: There were a lot of cringe-worthy lines. Thoughts? As a woman I didn't think there were many lines that were really cringe-worthy, but many people felt that way. There was one in particular. "A beauty, a doll." (T/n: During the scene when YSJ asks about KMY's blood-type.) It was hard to say that line. I thought I was going to die. I think if I had been in my 20s, I would have confidently said it, but since I'm not, I worried a lot more about those scenes than the emotional ones. There are so many pretty actresses in their 20s, I wonder what they will think when watching this scene. I cringed a bit when I said I was a doll. Q: What is it like to live as SHK? I think it's the same. I had a lot of friends since I was young. So many friends, it was sometimes hard to handle. But as I grew older, my social circle got smaller. It was a natural result since I had to be cautious all the time. But I'm still the same. When it's hard, they cry with me. When it's stressful, we drink wine or travel. When I'm frustrated, I get angry at people. The only difference is that I'm a celebrity, but other than that, I'm the same as other women my age. Q: Recently you've received attention for rejecting a Japanese advertisement offer and promoting Korean brochures. We'd like to hear about your values/thoughts. I believe that anyone in the same circumstances would have refused the advertisement offer. Also, it's been a while since I've worked with Prof. Seo Kyung Deok on the Korean brochures. Since I was young, when I would go abroad, there would be Japanese, Chinese, and all other languages available at museums, but only Korean was excluded. By coincidence, I came to know Prof. SKD and told him about my experience. It was from then that we started working together. There is still a lot for me learn. I also don't know everything about our nation's history, and continue to learn as I go. In the future I will continue to go forward doing what I believe is right/just despite what other may say. Q: What are your honest thoughts on the dating rumors with SJK? It's true we had a lot of meals together. I think it blew up because of NY, but it's a place I coincidentally see a lot of people. Aside from JK-ssi, I met a lot of other people. We worked together on a project for 6 months. I also think the scandal blew up because of the couple bracelet, but mine was a hair tie. It was those kinds of things that made it seem like something, but now everyone knows (laughs). Also, I want to thank Yoo Ah In for making a cameo in a short scene despite how busy he is. Starting with Kwang-soo in the beginning and finishing with Ah-In in the end, thank you so much. Q: Future plans? I want to greet viewers through diverse characters. There isn't as much diversity in roles available to female actresses in comparison male actors. So if I had a wish, it would be that more diverse characters and genres emerged for actresses. source: http://entertain.naver.com/read?oid=109&aid=0003302407&gid=999339&cid=1015727

Guest RoseS
normaly, triangle love=more interesting for watching but thanks for not in DOTS http://www.soompi.com/2016/04/19/descendants-of-the-sun-co-writer-explains-why-there-was-no-trademark-love-triangle/ “Descendants of the Sun” Co-Writer Explains Why There Was No Trademark Love Triangle kokoberry April 19, 2016 “Descendants of the Sun” co-writer Kim Won Suk recently held an interview with news outlet Sports Chosun and answered burning questions about the hit drama. In particular, many fans are curious as to why star scriptwriter Kim Eun Sook did not include her trademark love triangle in “Descendants of the Sun.” Kim Won Suk discussed the absence of a love triangle and said, “While talking with writer Kim Eun Sook, we decided not to have a love triangle and to have two romantic lines instead. We decided on the principle of showing a true melodrama. “When you have a love triangle it would be nice if both male leads could be cool, but eventually one of them has to lose. I think that part is a little difficult. “This time we didn’t want to tell that kind of story. Our strategy was to show their separate love [stories] and stand on their own in a cool way. “Writer Kim Eun Sook also prefers this side. I want to be careful because it’s not my own words but Kim Eun Sook said, ‘It’s so difficult every time I do a love triangle drama. Let’s have two lines this time.’” What are your thoughts on this decision? Do you like love triangles in dramas? Can you imagine “Descendants of the Sun” with a love triangle? fresia
Wow! Speechless! This beauty really have that face which can launced a thousands of ships. She's always like that. Not showing too much and always on the hide. But when she showed up, oh my goodness it will blow your mind away. Almost a week after DotS ends i thought we will really wait for a very long drought before she show something. But here it is. The photos were daebak. Everything was so simple. Her makeup, her dresses, her hair, even the background. But one thing is no simple... It was her heavenly beautiful face. No i mean just her alone, is so overly beautiful. One word everytime i stare each of those photos of her...WoW!!! Just WoW! And really love how she smartly answered those questions. She just wisely answered it with humbleness. You can feel the sincerity. And how most of the fans questions were really kindly answered by her. Trully possesses a warm-golden heart. Just like captain yoo told doctor kang before the lovely eating noodle scene. That she doesn't need to show her charisma all the time. Because he already know how trully kind she is. Is the script referring to the real person playing as doctor Kang? I already saw, knew and remember how humble and kind she is as a person who i can look up to as an inspiration to be a better woman and most probably a better person.
