1. Everyone already gathered during opening except for JK. He came late and so obvious he wanted to stand next to Somin. The gap between Somin and YJS was small. He kinda slipped himself in between.

2. Somin was waiting for YJS in front of a cafe. People gathered and watched. Somin talked with them and clarify herself. "YSC and I are not dating. Please don't misunderstand. JH unnie and JK oppa also not related"

@Catch-22 Imagine this so called secret GF watch the MBTI video. Especially the part JK gave the example Somin rip off somebody's name tag and mess up the whole mission. JK held eye contact and focused on her face the whole time while covering his lips. Gosh, I still have goosebumps every time I watch that part. Any GF would definitely jealous if she sees her man looks at other woman like that. But the thing is, JK is not that kind of man. He said he will cherish his GF. When he said he will cherish her, he will. He will not hold such a long eye contact with other woman if he has a GF.

DISCLAIMER: The narrative part is just my assumption.  I see Kookmin as dating couple, so the explanation for this post make sense  to me. So, what I write on the narrative part is what I think that really suit to the situation.

 

In summer 2020 (MUD 198), JK said this to JSJ. "When I go to some place nice, I always think of her." And JSJ just answered calmly, "Really?"

 

Coincident or not, Somin said exactly the same thing during her interview with ELLE Korea in 2021. I mean, just how miracle for JK's love experience is literally similar to what Somin's man did for her.

 

Somin: If he goes somewhere nice or eats something delicious, and the first thing he thinks about is me. Then you know he's thinking about me 24/7. I'm all he thinks about whatever he does. Okay! He's all in!

JK literally demonstrated what he said in MUD 198. When he goes to somewhere nice (in this case, Denmark), he always think about her (I wish I could come here with my girlfriend). And it also the same as Somin said, when her man goes to somewhere nice, the FIRST thing that he thinks is about her (JK just arrived and while admiring this first view of Denmark, he thought about his GF).

JK posted the first IG story of the sky. 

 

27th May 

2nd bring sky IG story. In RM ep 495, Somin explained that SOMIN means Bright Sky.

 

My narrative: This is the first time they were apart thousand miles away after being together. Trying to look from his perspective, naturally he would miss her. Of course in their home country, they will not meet everyday, but separated by thousand miles  will  just give different feeling, especially this is the first time being apart.  I think these 2 bright sky photos were his way to express that feeling. 

 

Then, he had tight schedule to finish filming around Denmark within 10 days. I bet this tight schedule, time difference between SK and Denmark and difficulty to find the free time for both of them (as Somin still busy filming her drama) just made him miss her more and more.

 

7th July

The cast members and staff had a press conference. You can watch this video on kookie_me2 IG account dated 7th July. One part that really caught my attention. There is no subtitle, so I will give you the rough translation. The MC asked JK to describe about the trip. First, JK complimented the country. The country is very beautiful so on and so. He further explained, probably, because of short time, so many place to go, to many things to shoot, the schedule was very tight.

 

"(because of this) as a South Korean people, I really want to go back home asap was what I feel (?) then. I like to go on vacation, but (at that time) I  just wanted to hurry and go home." - JK

 

My narrative: When I first watched the press conference, I was quite surprise. The variety show is about travelling to foreign country to promotes K-culture there. And here he was, saying he really wanted to go home while filming there . But the fact that he said this means he really wanted to hurry and go home. Of course the bias-Kookmin-fan me thought that he wanted to go home ASAP because he missed her.  I mean, not that he never experience tight work schedule before. He is in music and entertainment industry for more that 2 decades already. So, what so different for this work compare to his previous works.

 

And then, today, the preview for upcoming episode came out. On the very first day there, he already wished he can go there with his GF.  Few days after, he posted IG stories of bright sky, as if he missed her. Then, at the press con, he literally said he wanted to hurry and go home while he filmed there. This just solidify my assumption. HE MISSED HER AND JUST WANTED TO HURRY AND GO HOME.

But an assumption is still an assumption. That is why I contemplating whether to write this or not. All the parts that I attached with proofs are fact, just the narrative parts are my assumption. I think this post is really nice for us as a kookmin fan but don't take everything as a fact and 100% true.

I really want to write about something. 2 somethings actually. But these topics contains half fact half assumption. So, i worry if this will mislead you into thinking it is 100% true and give you hope. So, i want to ask for your opinion. Should I write this?

I just love the drama that happened between Kookmin when Somin suspected JK was the spy for the last part. This post to give you the clear view what actually happen and appreciate this scene more. 

 

Background story:

When JSJ accused JK first, but JK tried as hard as he can to prove he was not the spy. But once Somin also suspected him, he easily agreed to be put on trial, so that he can get back at Somin when the real spy got reveal.

Note: What he meant is, when the culprit got reveal, they lost and it was Somin's fault as she was the one who pointed him out last.

JK hugged YJS and moved to the back and talked to Somin.

It started as the members tried to find the culprit. JK also became one of the suspect. JK tried very hard to prove that he was innocent. At the moment Somin also accused him, he readily agreed to go on trial so that Somin will embarrass later on for accusing him wrongly. The scene suddenly became a personal thing between him and Somin.

Topic: Moments that Shows Kookmin Have a Really  Close Relationship Unlike How They Try to Portray in RM

 

From the MBTI video, we can establish that JK and Somin are really close. They were so comfortable with each other, their conversation were so smooth. They laughed, they smiled a lot. They kept holding eye contact. They focused on each other. But they (Kookmin, members, staff) try so hard to cover this closeness in RM. So, these are several candid moments I haven't mentioned before that show Kookmin in privacy is not the same as Kookmin in front of camera. 

 

Ep 613

This is the 1st scenario scene where YJS was the spy. Haha suspected JK to be the spy and tried to convince Somin about it.

Normally, during a mission with spy, who will the members convince first about the suspect spy? JK and YJS as both have the sharpest instinct. So, for this case, the members will usually go to YJS. So, it is weird when Haha seriously tried to convince Somin that JK was the spy. To be fair, Somin doesn't have the best instinct when it comes to spy mission. Seems like Haha knows that Somin understand JK very much. So he expect her to notice any weirdness in JK's actions.

 

 

There is another scene but the situation was the other way round.

JSJ was contemplating whether he could trust Somin or not. 

 

So, he asked JK whether Somin will betray him or not.

 

JK said Somin will betray JSJ. Haih, once again JK failed to read Somin correctly. 

 

This scene shows that JSJ expect JK can understand Somin very well. In other words, JSJ knows JK and Somin is very close for JK to understand her way of thinking. This is so contradicting to how Kookmin are in front of camera. They act as if they are just a not so close oppa-dongsaeng.

Note: Rewatching this scene, I got upset with JK once again. It is hard enough for Somin to avoid penalty because she is weak, bad at games and luck usually isn't on her side. JK had no business to encourage JSJ to betray Somin like that. More often than not, JK failed to read Somin correctly.

Haha teased Somin about how Somin wasn't in his top 5 list for their look. Somin was upset and asked JK to do something to Haha for her.

Haha drank half of her coffee. So, she complained to JK. Cute right?

 

She knows she has JK on her side and can help get back at Haha when Haha teased her.

The mission was, members had to raise 'Admit' to the situation given by the staff. Only then their team can get a point. 

Question: If Jongkook were younger than me, I would've taught him a lesson.

If the staff ask this question to any member member who is younger than JK, they will immediately said 'Admit'. They won't let go the opportunity to use the age card to get back at JK. 

 

But this question is suppose to make Somin very reluctant to admit it. Why do you think Staff will think this question can make Somin to contemplate? If JK is just an oppa, this question is an easy point for Somin's team. Because JK is not a mere Oppa to her. So, staff expect if Somin is older than JK, she couldn't bear to teach him a lesson. Therefore, Somin will raise the NO ADMIT. But Somin proved it otherwise as she raised ADMIT without any hesitation

@MandelBrot Ah, I still remember just how shock I was at that time to know that Somin sang duet with him. It is so unexpected for him to invite a non-singer to perform at his concert. Duet with a lady, and not even sang his song. Just how I smile silly watching the interaction between Kookmin on stage.

 

YJS did commented about it. In ep 483, when he said "We kept teasing YSC and Somin, suddenly JK and Somin announces their marriage". PD didn't include any montage from the concert but the members did talk about the duet. Which is the reason, up to that point, I think Kookmin still a mere oppa-dongsaeng. Because YJS teased them.

 

Note: From Tiny's IG, JK's mom already in LA. Wow. This is a big deal. If Somin goes to LA, that means she will travelling with JK's mom too. For JK to allow this happen... WOW!!!

YJS's words to YSC about his trip to Jeju is really a big hint of how the members treat others' privacy. YJS said, things like that, YSC should inform the members. So that the members won't bring up on the show like JSJ did. For example, LKS dates LSB for 6 months before he announced their relationship. The members knew but never once they drop any hint about it.

 

With this attitude, you will understand why in recent 2 years, the members never bring focus to anything kookmin did in private 

1. Kookmin MCed APAN Award together, nobody mentioned about it.

2. JK admitted that he and Somin drink together a lot but nobody took this hint and question more about it 

3. JK revealed that Somin went to his house with YJS and JSJ, just how fast YJS changed the topic 

4. In ep 600, Somin complained that JK left her messages on read, YSJ change the subject to Haha.

5. PD brought the topic of MBTI video on ep 611, none of the members took the opportunity to questioned more about it 

6. If it was not JK who mentioned about Somin wants to follow him to LA, I bet nobody will talk about the video anymore. Even more, nobody question why JK is okay even Somin follows him alone.

7. Nobody bring the focus on Kookmin especially when Kookmin was in special atmosphere (eg the brown Sofa moment at his house)

Important bits from LA conversation 

1. Somin wants to go. YSC is just a smokescreen 

Somin: Why would I go to US alone with you?

2. Go together with SJH is a no no as it seems Somin is the smokescreen for the two of them 

4. Go in 4 with YSC is also cannot 

JK: He (YSC) is so busy.

 

Conclusion 

YSC unable to go, SJH cannot go, Somin is okay to go. Such a huge hole here. Most likely Somin will go alone. And JK is so okay about this.

 

Not related to LA trip. In an old episode of MUD (2018), Kim Jongmin asked JK, if he has a GF, what is the thing he wants to do together with his GF. JK answered, go on vacation oversea. That is why, if Somin follows him to LA, it really gives a huge meaning. And LA is his another special place after South Korea.  Giving Somin a special pass to follow him to his favourite place... That speaks just how special Somin is.

 

Also, the JK's house episode was aired a day before they filmed the latest episode. JK knew Somin has a thought of marrying him. Normal JK, he will immediately distancing himself from Somin, to avoid any misunderstanding. Yet, this oppa himself let us know he give his consent for Somin to follow him to US.

I love the fact that it was JK who brought up this topic. The members purposely kept quiet about this (and the whole MBTI video) last week when Bopil mentioned about devil's editing. Yet, JK himself who mentioned about the LA topic.

 

And I like how blatantly bias he is. Somin said she wants to go too (MBTI video), I don't see any resistance whatsoever from JK. And to him, it doesn't seem weird at all to bring along Somin. 

 

After recent event (Somin being attack by hate comment), I think she has more reason to go. To release her stress. Plus, she had working with dramas, movies non stop for a year already. And this will be her first oversea vacation after Covid. And she really really want to go to US. There are so many reasons that convince me she will go.

There was no absolute answer whether she will go or not. But JK himself brought this topic up about Somin wants to go to LA. Somins' character is a bubbly and happy go lucky girl. That means she smiles a lot. If you don't observe her closely, you will think that all her smile is the same. You will think that if she smile, that means she is happy. In the scene above, JK demonstrated that he can differentiate the meaning of Somin's smile. To able to to this meaning he observes her closely and a lot. 

 

EP 608 - Last mission where members had to touch their access card to the sensor.

JSJ succeed to open the door.

 

JK: Somin is genuinely upset.

Again, Somin didn't say anything. She didn't make any sound. Yet, from only her facial expression, JK knew she was upset.

Just a week before that (610), YJS talked about Somin thought of marrying JK. How YJS said Somin is interested in JK. As I expected, YJS suddenly forgot how he mentioned all those things in ep 611. 

 

When Bopil brought up about the MBTI test (the part that JK said about evil editing), YJS didn't take this cue to tease Kookmin. What about the part Somin wants to go to LA??? What about the part that kookmin's MBTI is the worst combination??? Didn't this a perfect chance to continue on teasing Somin. Yet, YJS didn't.

 

At one part during intro, YJS no longer interested on neighbour's LL and he wanted to look for new one. Erm... If Kookmin is a pure business couple, they are the best next candidate. Yet, YJS 'overlooked' this pair.

 

Somin kept on saying ' I love you', ' saranghaeyo', made heart signs to JK who was singing. But no teasing from YJS about Somin's interest to JK.

 

So, what we can conclude from this?

1. Romantic or platonic, Kookmin is a funny pair, which is a great help to spice up the show. The current chemistry starts to get saturated and to me, it slowly becomes stale. So, from business point of view, kookmin is one of the good solution. Kookmin's interaction can bring fresh breath to the show. However, YJS suddenly 'cannot' see this in ep 611

2. Next, you have to ask, why??? Why from 2020, YJS never explore Kookmin's potential? Heck, several times I saw YJS subtly separated Kookmin or diverted the attention from Kookmin. Why staff never try to bring out more of kookmin's interaction? Why staff rarely grouped/paired kookmin together??? There must be a huge reason why they somehow 'overlook' kookmin and 'ignore' their potential to the show.

Maybe that was where Somin's talk about marriage came from. Somin maybe told YJS about that filming and the compatibility between Kookmin.

My thought on YJS teased on Kookmin.

 

Do you think he really wants to push LL between Kookmin? I don't think so because, on latest episode, YJS doesn't follow his usual recipe of pushing LL when he teased Kookmin.

 

1. He only teased Somin while JK was laughing very loud and smiling the whole teasing time. Usual YJS will definitely notice that JK didn't give any resistance. Yet YJS ignored this. Typical YJS who wants to push LL will react like this, "Ya, Kookjong ah, why are you smiling and laughing? Could it be... you like Somin too?". After all, he did this when he teased Kookmin in late 2019.

 

2. If YJS really wants to push for a LL, he really missed lots of golden moment to tease Kookmin.

-When YJS came out from toilet, he saw JK hovered over Somin who lied on the brown sofa

-YJS saw Somin was so comfortable at his house that she looked for the wet tissue herself without asking JK. 

-YJS saw that JK didn't really scold Somin for using two wet tissue

-JK who took his sweet time to measure the width from Somin in the hallway (for foam roller)

-JK teased Somin and made her nervous during quiz

-JK ignored everyone and only talked to Somin during pirate roulette

-again JK teased Somin on last quiz mission.

The usual YJS who wants to push for LL will take that opportunity and goes "Oh, what is this? Are you two dating?" But YJS restrained himself and just look at these two playing around together.

 

3. If it is for a LL, Somin surely didn't react properly. Usually, when YJS gives a hint, Somin will immediately into a love line mode. TYoomin really have a very good understanding where one gives hint, the other will react appropriately. Like last week during opening, YJS said Chanmin look good together, Somin directly hooked her hand with YSC. Typical Somin, when YJS said about Somin thinking marrying JK, she will react "Oppa, do you want to marry me?". But no, she just laughing and tried to deny it.

 

As for why YJS did that, I also wonder.

 

My guess is, he just giving warning to Kookmin, "behave". They filmed in a tight space environment. The camera numbers visibly less than normal. Even the ENG camera (main camera where Director Kang Chanhee usually handled) wasn't there. No matter where Kookmin was, they can be seen in most of the camera. How the PD going to filter their interaction if it can be seen on every angle. And because of the environment (JK's own house and Somin was comfortable there), Kookmin became less on guard and interacted more than usual. 

 

YJS's teasing only started after the brown sofa scene, when Somin asked what JK do with his money. Second time when Somin asked if JK discards his friend. And innocent question but still quite deep considering Kookmin act as they are not close in RM. The third one when Somin wore JK's sunglasses during pirate roulette. Again, Somin showed her being comfortable with JK. After YJS initiated that teasing, Somin took off that glasses.

 

I'm pretty confident, YJS will suddenly forget about Kookmin in next episode. Both were in different group, in the preview, no scene that Kookmin was together. When the interaction is limited, there is no need for YJS to interfere them.

Edit: my mistake. MBTI was filmed on 15th June while RM 610 was filmed on 20th June. So your situation make sense. Somin could tell YJS about the MBTI test and their results.

Welcome to this forum. Somehow, I cannot give reaction to your post.

 

This is the reason why I mostly write based on JK's perspective. But because between the two, JK is easier to read. His emotion showed clearly on his face, especially his eyes. He is not an actor, so he is not very good at covering it. He also has a clear bottom line. He won't do anything he dislike (e.g LL) for the sake of variety show. If he is forced to, he showed clearly how he doesn't like it on his face, by his rising voice, by his action. 

 

So, when he just laughed when YJS teased Somin and him yesterday (like YJS did in late 2019), it shows JK is so okay with the idea. If he dislike it, he will immediately nip the bud to prevent any misunderstanding and told YJS to stop.

About Kookmin being a LL, if YJS want to tease them as a LL, he would do that the moment JK adjusted the sofa for her. That scene was so heart fluttering. He was came out from somewhere and saw JK stood about Somin who lied on his sofa. Yet, YJS was kept it quiet. It is YJS we are talking about. He is so good at creating nothing into something. If it was YSC who did it to Somin, pretty confident he will make a big deal out of it.

 

I also saw few times when kookmin was a little bit suspicious, YJS will out of nowhere will bring YSC's name to initiate a LL. I think this was a subtle warning to Kookmin, 'behave'. Which I believe that what he was doing in the latest ep. Comfortable environment for both Kookmin made them more off guard. So, their natural interaction came out.

Maybe due to the environment, Kookmin was really off guard and openly interact to each other.

 

It is his house, his private place. So, JK was more relax and I would say, quite daring (?). When he adjusted the sofa while Somin still there really caught me off guard. I felt like I saw something I shouldn't have and I bet, that was how the members felt when watching that scene .

 

Somin also seems comfortable at his home. She followed him to the fridge in the beginning for coffee. She searched for wet tissue herself without asking JK first. I think she took second coffee from the fridge herself after the squat mission. She also comfortably lied down on the sofa. Remember last year when JK revealed that Somin went to his house with the two oldest oppas. He asked whether she was comfortable at his house or not. And she nodded. She literally showed it in this ep.
