The part that Kookmin entered the room together after they changed their clothes is quite a surprise to me. Not because I didn't expect them to be together but because I didn't expect PD will included it into the episode.

 

This scene just reminds me of Kookmin walked together at Arrival Hall at Manila Airport. Other members didn't join them. They also didn't wait for other members to join them. Again, they unconsciously exhibit this sense of togetherness. 

 

And throughout the episode, though they were not in the same group or stood/sat next to each, they talked/interacted with each other in their own way.

- JK mentioned Somin's name who join entertainment world late

- JK commented something about Somin's photo (the one they had to write their charm)

- JK imitated Somin and they had short conversation 

- Somin went to JK to look at his drawing (only to JK, never to YJS or YSC)

- Somin could not help from looking at JK who gave fake comments on the ttokbukki PPL and JK immediately conscious of that glance. He is so well tuned to her.

- JK said big eyes is Somin's charm. If you notice, JK mentioned multiple times about her eye these recent few years.

"Somin, before our eyes met and your eyes were shaking"

They also talk while looking in each others' eyes (perfect example is GYM Jongkook MBTI video). And holding eye contact is very hard to do.

Topic: A Couple In the Midst of Running Man Group

 

From the videos as the members arrived at Manila Airport, you can see Kookmin is together in the middle of a group of people. But do you realize that they (Kookmin + members) had done this for several times already. In a group setting, Kookmin is together and the members intentionally or unintentionally avoiding them

They took a group photo with coffee truck sent by fans. You can see here, it seems like a couple accidentally photobombed other group's photo. Kookmin exuded the togetherness vibe because JK leaned so close towards Somin but both seemed detach from the group due to the gap between Somin and JSJ.

This was during break time and Kookmin were together, chatting by themselves. Other members discreetly gave them privacy by not joining them.

Kookmin walked together, chatting. They were not in the front group (JSJ, YJS, SJH) also not in the back group (Haha, YSC). Other members also intentionally/unintentionally avoiding them.

From yesterday's episode, I think the most touching scene is Somin's ddakji morning mission at the restaurant. Because JK was focusing only on Somin.

- He was the first person who gave tips on how to slap the ddakji perfectly.

- YJS nagged Somin for changing her ddakji the night before, JK encourage her by saying she can do it

- YJS teased her for never being so focus like she was at that moment, he told her to hurry up (don't focus on YJS but on her mission)

- YJS talked to JSJ through phone call, he still focused on Somin and gave her encouragement. 

- When Somin succeed, he was so happy for her. He didn't give much reaction when YSC and SJH succeed. 

 

He totally focused on her, he gave her encouragement and tips, when she succeed, he was happy for her. He really hope Somin able to eat and escape penalty. And me too JK, me too. Just how nervous I was while watching that scene yesterday. So happy she succeed.

Actually, there is a collection of events where Somin went to complain to JK when the oppas teased her

1. She complained to JK when Haha teased her being ugly when Astro came

2. She complained to JK when Haha drank half of her coffee in ep 609

3. She asked JK to punch Haha when Haha teased about her cap during recent RM team dinner

4. She punched JK when JSJ teased her in this episode

 

She has the right to use Kim Jongkook-Card to deal with the oppas who love to tease her. And JK allows it by indulging her (punching Haha for teasing her cap). 

 

The thing is, they tried so hard to project that they aren't that close in RM. When the fact is, they are lots more closer than what they show in front of TV. Why are they trying so hard to cover their interaction, though? Interesting thing to ponder, right?

For today's episode, JK was kinda more touch feely (with reasons of course) to Somin more than normal. I won't explain the detail as it will spoil some of you but what @pngame6242 posted is one of them. Plus the short video of him waiting for Somin for today's filming, plus RM group photos for yesterday's fan meeting, plus them walking together at the airport... This week is a heaven.

 JK stood as if he was waiting for somebody. Somin was at the stairs.

 

JK turned his body when Somin reached him. So, JK was waiting for Somin.

This one is much clearer as we can see that kookmin obviously walked together and talked to each other. They gave the couple vibe who walked in the middle of a group of people. They were not in the front group (YJS,JSJ, SJH) but also not in the back group (Haha,YSC). From previous FM, Somin always seek YJS's company, or walked with YSC and LKS who are about her age. But here, she walked alone with JK. While JK adjusted his walking pace to accommodate Somin. He also wants her company

Yes! This part! While the other oppas just gave their example of sweet and sexy voice only for the sake of giving example, he was different. He looked at her! As if he was speaking directly to her. 

 

Actually, the Q&A session revealed few other important things. We see JK checked Somin out and complimented her so beautiful. JK revealed that he often have drinks with her. And JK doesn't normally drink! He who doesn't drink is willing to spend his time to accompany her to do something that he doesn't do.

He was checking her out while she was pondering about the air mattress. I'm glad PD took the footage from this angle as you can see his action and facial expression.

 

And out of no where, he complimented her for looking good in white shirt and jeans.

Ah, I melt for Somin's behalf. How his facial expression soften up while complimenting her. This is an honest compliment, not him trying to tease her.

And Haha tried to make this scene to look like they were just teasing her though JK didn't reciprocate and insist that she's beautiful.

While they (JK, Somin, Haha and YSC) worked on camping tent, JK suddenly complimented Somin being beautiful (yeppo). This is not during opening when they usually criticize and compliment other member's fashion. While Somin did look good, she just dressed simple with jeans pants and sweater. Though she  enjoyed the compliment, she still asked him why he complimented her so suddenly as he sounded like he was teasing her (though if you look at his face, you know he did not)

Later, JK suddenly complimented her again being pretty when all members already gathered. And took the compliment back because of her crazy dancing

Yes, your translation might be more accurate. As from subtitle, it was translated as 'we know what she's like'. 

 

For this part, he shows how bias he is to Somin. Somin has permission to talk behind his back and use banmal, other dongsaeng can't. But to be fair, he doesn't have the right to be upset because he teased her too much, that's why she was complaining in the first place. And he seems to have so much fun teasing her.

In the morning he complimented her for looking great (his exact word is yeppo) but at night he teased her cap for being too tall(?) . They supposed to wear their own clothes. So, he complained about Somin's boot as she isn't wear boots like that normally.

JK: By the way, I know the shoes aren't yours.

1. He notices little details about her (her boots are not hers in ep 600, she dyed her hair black in ep 619)

2. If Somin looks good, he will honestly compliment her

3. If he thinks her fashion is kinda weird, he will tease her (beanie, hair bangs, cap).

4. You will understand how significant all these comments, compliments and teasing about her fashion if you watch Soya's vlog dated April 21st 2022.

Context: He advised Somi (his niece) to tie her hair as she looks better like that rather than let it loose.

 

He shows his interest or concern only because he cares/adores/loves that person. If not, he will just keep quiet. He comments, compliments or teases Somin's fashion because he cares/adores/loves her.

Episode 644

 

Do you notice that during team dinner, the members consciously or unconsciously let the seat in front of JK empty for Somin?

YSC, in the beginning, stood at the seat opposite of JK. By logic, naturally he would sit there right?

 

But YSC moved to the other empty seat and freed the previous for Somin. 

 

YSC also did the same thing once in ep 603. He vacated his besides Somin for JK.

JK walked to YSC's side and YSC vacated his seat for JK.

 

And naturally, JK sat next to Somin.

If you watched the details during the makin desert session, Kookmin were together the whole time Haha and YSC tried to take money from the members using the roulette. You can see JK and Somin together at the back.

 

Well, the subtitle here actually give quite a different meaning from what he actually said. What he actually said is

 

JK: I'll get it done. Sha sha sha 가 가 

가(ga) - Go.

 

The 가 part isn't very clear but he did say that. The subtitle tried to make what he said less harsh. But he literally shooed SJH away.

My interpretation of what Somin means: Oppa. I will overlook your teasing. In return, hit Haha once for me.

 

And JK? Immediately punched Haha

In the above scene, we can see Somin has the power to order JK punish Haha for her. And Somin has this power only because JK willing to indulge her. Even SJH doesn't have this privilege. Actually, Somin too before as JK is not naturally indulge her by default. Remember, in 2017, when Somin still new in RM. One time  she had snow fight with LKS and tried to take shelter behind JK. How JK reacted? Not really warm and quite reluctant too.  Something happened that makes JK's treatment to Somin change.

@Grumple Lee also since both love coffee and fascinated watching Yoo Yeonsuk brewing it, sharing comments with each other. YJS also there but it is obvious JK and Somin was talking with each other about it.

@N M V  CTH had said something recently. I don't remember where he said this but CTH said, he never know who was JK's GF until the breakup news came out. Only then he knew JK was dating. Even they are best friends, regarding his love life, it is not something JK comfortably share with CTH. 

 

So, if Kookmin is a couple, I doubt CTH will know about this. My assumption is, it is just coincidence he looked at Somin's direction when he said about wanting JK to get married.

Heo Kyungwan is single but he is considered a close friend to Somin as he also joined Somin, YJS and JSJ to Osaka(?) in 2017. And he is older than Somin. Somin doesn't really play her love frog character to an older-than-her guest. Recall back, Kim Haneul, Park Seojun, Gong Mung, Kim DongJoon, Chae Junghyeop... All are younger than her.

 

Somin also never really play love frog character twice with the same guest. Example, she got all shy and flustered (though I think this reaction was real, not a love frog character) when Kim Dongjoon guested in ep 513. But the next time he came, Somin totally ignored him.

@Itsbrutalouthere Among the 3 groups, Kookmin team had the least screentime. So, compare to previous recent episodes, their interaction was just okay. But what I like the most is, even Somin did bad in game, JK didn't scold her. I like not because I root for them but because by not scolding Somin, Somin felt less pressured. 

 

Not sure if anyone notice this, Somin doesn't really want to be in the same team as JK. Because his expectation makes her feel pressured. If she failed when she was in YJS's team, she still can relax and genuinely laugh but if she was in JK's team, when she failed, the first thing she did was to see JK's reaction. Remember, during the YJS Deasang vs KJK Daesang, after JK's team lost in hide and seek game, the first thing Somin did was to abandoned  him and go to YJS. JK also noticably irked when she didn't choose him on the next round.

 

So, for this episode, I'm glad he didn't scold her.

Actually, when things like these happened (Somin failed her mission, Somin fell, accident happened to Somin), we can hear JK's voice asking her condition, if she is okay, try to console her. Even he was not in the same group as her, Somin was at the other side of the room. It is just the camera focus was on Somin's reaction while JK was out of frame. So, most people might not realize this.

-In one segment of latest episode, the members divided into Senior (JSJ, YJS, JK, Haha) and Junior (SJH, Somin, YSC)

- PD asked them to ask other team if they have any concern or question

- Somin shared her concerned especially to JK as he is to only unmarried member there

- JK explained his daily life routine. Somin cried as her routione also like that (do things daily alone). She felt sad as she sounds lonely though she is not. 

- after the session ended, Senior Team chose Somin to choose present and Juniour Team chose YJS and JK.

- JK chose fisrt for Senior Team. He asked Somin which present he should choose.

- He won body lotion and gave this present to Somin. So sweet of him.

- I think he gave her his present to cheer her up.

Lol, the fact that YJS told the story of how Somin complained to him about JK... She literally called JK Kim Jongkook without adding Oppa to it. Just how mad she was with JK . It shows to JK frequently tease her like that. And how loud JK laughed when he heard this story. And surprise surprise. We rarely see this teasing on RM.

 

And after this episode, I read several comments saying they miss Kookmin interaction. Romantic or platonic, Kookmin really have a good chemistry. JK displays his playful and happy side when he interacts with Somin. Somehow, PD can't see this (or have to close her eyes from seeing this). And YJS tried so hard to prevent both of them from interacting too much. Question to ponder, why PD and YJS did this?
