    Looking forward to the next batch 42-51 ...and then only 17 left lol....

    Looking forward to some action please....gentle and syrupy sweet I can only take so much.  Awu has lost some point with me these days.   

    She wants He Lan Zhen to marry another woman...so as long as Wang's are spared its ok. 

    She meets He Lan Zhen on her own...I don't know all the rules in the 4th century or so, but even today you don't go on your own to meet other man , especially when you know the venom he carries for your husband  without a proper plan .  What makes you think that he can't rape you since you came to him , he can claim what the empress snake is spewing and making it true.   I am not seeing /feeling that liveliness, greatness, that brightness of though, that spunk I guess I wanted a bit of Wei Yingluo  here . :)

    finished 39/68 .... Well Awu I heard that your cousin that you are trying so hard to save will be after your husband :sweat:  and 

    even without being a princess lol....our female intuition screams a mile away when someone does not like us , or is fake , .....so only now you are getting a glimpse of your best girlfriend and you are still dense when it comes to your maid .

    I know you are recuperating these 10 episodes and as you said in the past episode when your husband is with you , you don't have to do anything ...but still we need to see you come  back to life a bit more.

    36/37  / 68 ....   That stupid cousin is allowed into Awu's private rooms in the mansion, full entrance to all the military hardware and Awu's current mansion...Allooo security ? 

    By the way , what does Awu translate to....not mary jane ?

    Ep 37 now joins my ep 18...in these two episodes i really like the relationship of this husband and wife. How is he supposed to tell her everything when she has been so sick and he would rather risk her being infertile instead of dead...I think I would pick that choice. If she knew then it would be another drama I guess.  If he shared info with Nanny who has a nanny mindset vs general mindset and long term vision - I guess I have to wait to see the rest of the drama LOL .....We do know Awu hates medicine so she would be her own worst enemy .  The curtain hide and seek at the end is so warm and heart fuzzy .

    @jacquelinetan Thanks are not enough...so I am also sending a big Hug LOL :love:  ...I was wondering how is our XQ going to do both, uphold the justice and uphold his love re  father.  Was this in ep 32 that the Emperor tells her?   

     

    I am also reading other sites and trying to fill in missing pieces ....and here is one more explanation that Chingu shared ep33 ....(So XQ is protecting her life and not being selfish ...I sigh with relief )

    Xiao Qi arranged a surprise wedding ceremony. The invited guests had assumed Xiao Qi is marrying a 2nd wife (concubine). You can see the disappointment on the faces of Wang Xuan and her maids. (Knowing he can't get Wang Xuan pregnant, or she may risk her life as the doctor said she will die during child delivery as she is too weak).
    When the Empress Dowager heard XiaoQi's promise, she said his announcement was timely and immediately deterred many rich families trying to build alliances with him by arranging a 2nd wife for him.

The drama will finish a week early for vvip, on 18th, 2 weeks early for vip, on 23rd. Schedule is the same for free members, so it finishes on March 15th. I'm guessing the subs will be same rate too, which make sense, since an ep a day is already a lot.

    I am watching all raw now and await  new ones  tomorrow   ...What happened to Awu in 31  ?  Why is my man standing so solitary still by the tree?

    ep 20/68 .....I amaze myself even after all these years how fast I still judge  :pensive:. Hearing how Awu's mother run to her mama to complain , hence the death of concubine, I am surprised the father could stomach to have two children with her .  It is a good thing that she wants to be a nun and finally atone for that death. 

    Same thing with the brother. Here we were all so high and mighty in our judgement how can his wife be so and so ...and yet it was him that essentially stole another man's wife because he liked her.  I am no fan of 2nd prince but now that I know their story and seeing the raw episodes, I hope they go together at least.

    fei isn't princess, it's consort technically. wang fei is wife of a wang (king/duke). gongzhu is princess, just daughter of the emperor, there's none in this drama. 长公主 and 大长公主 da4 zhang3 gong1 zhu3 are grand princesses, former being emperor's sisters, latter being emperor's dad's sisters (Joy of Life have grand princess, Awu's mum is technically one but I don't think the drama use this title?). Awu was a 郡主 jun4 zhu3 before getting married, which is usually other royalty's daughters, like emperor's nieces or crown prince's daughters. There's 县主 xian4 zhu3 and 乡主 xiang1 zhu3 as well, which are ranking titles given to royalties and minister's daughter (A Girl Like Me's protag is one and her titles change at some point), they come with prefecture/town/village as a fiefdom. Different dynasties have different rules about them, but this is what I use for general reference.

    @skibbies have i told you that I love you ..thank you:smile:. I was seeing Wang as her Fathers family name vs the king /duke wife ,  but i understand now since XQ is wang/ king/duke as well . I am determined to learn at least 5 new words from my c dramas and so far wang fei has stuck in my mind nicely . 

    On my side of the ocean i have now 19 subbed and 31 /68 raw...I am in raw glory ...wow  ...I love our XQ more and more , lucky Awu lol

    On youtube good subs ...I finally get to see my ep 18...Thank you Subbers 

    I have learned that Wang =Royal ,  Fei = Princess ...so what is 公主

    Gōngzhǔ  ?  (this is according to G translate which after witnessing the butchery of ep 18 translation I am :fearful:

    I thought I was hearing Mon Fei until i read Wang Fei  LOL 

     

    Ep 19 has good subs...:relaxed: thank you Goddess .  I felt the hunger in the army vs princesses desserts  . Food is such sacred responsibility and that reminds me when in e18  3rd prince carelessly pours the water in XQ's food when he did not wish to drink vine,  I was ready to hang him by his little ....s (lol brains brains)

    Monumental Ep 18 .... our couple is together again - and this was the episode that I fell in love with Xiao Qi :heart: coming through the gates of hell and Awu flying to his embrace.

     I am truly grateful to the subbers , since I am bilingual i know what a monumental job this is ....but but ....computer generated translations today do not live up to pace and excellence that we got for the past 17 ep.   Hopefully somebody , somewhere in the kingdom of benevolence will be able to fix the subs and leave the King Kong out of the equation. So I guess I am still looking forward to my ep 18 LOL .

    Enjoying the drama as it unfolds  :)   I am on ep 16/68 so I am expecting a lot of births, deaths, love and war in the next 52 episodes.  Whatever happens it is meant to happen.  I am definitely looking forward to ep 18 , based on the preview there is one man who is sooo in love with his wife (i saved the picture of him when ge entered after the gate opened :innocent:)   and the wife throwing the etiquette to the wind and running with such confidence and trust .

    She been hardcore since little. What they call Regency romance a hellion tomboy

    She a princess that always did what she wanted. 
    She competed with the three princes on an equal basis. She a tomboy growing up un restricted. She climbs trees, sneaks out of the palace. If boys can ride she can. She was taught military skills by jumping on the map of the country. So archery, riding, maybe hunting and fishing etc. We even see her retaliate against the crown prince at age 6-7 be laying an ambush. Her running to uncle king was well thought out strategy to avoid punishment. 
    You think a young girl holding her own against 3 boys is not going to grow up tough? 
    She lived in the Prime minster home set the kitchen on fire and escaped to the palace on her own to avoid family discipline. at 6-7.

    Her father said she was better man than her bother.

    One of my pillars,  of most loved dramas in my crown ,  Nirvana in Fire :heart:, and I still cry at the end with the song ..."when the candles are burnt but the tears won't stop" .    

    Now when i remember that cp and 2nd prince are so similar to these here .   Thank you @skibbies since this answers a piece of my puzzle.
