disclaimer: i was one of people who quite dissapointed when suzy was announced as female lead. you can trace my comment in a first few pages about this. BUT, now i can tell you that suzy is good in here. not underperform or overperform. just nice and balance. she has problem with crying scene in a first few episodes, but last epi show how much she improved. i feel for her distress crying watching Jaechan flatline and relieved when he's okay. Nam Hong Joo is such a well written character. she's a weirdo that really good at her job. PHR-nim create such a good female character. she's delicate but she's not weak either. she use her intelligent for good and learn from her mistake
LJS. his character here actually just an upgrade from his previous character in School 2013, Namsoonie(i miss Namsoonie!!) a bad student and a bit delinquent. but he outgrow his delinquent act when he know dad are dissapointed by his reckless act. Jaechan is just less intense from his previous character(
which people complain too for being too genius or have supernatural talent, he took the same roles all over again, yadda, yadda).he is more relatable this time as any human being. i like him here MORE. he's clumsy, a weirdo, a shameless narcissist, a gentleman who does not wrist grab the girl, yell at the girl, act as richard simmons or doing noble idiot act(at least not yet),and he has to work hard, make homework, ask senior opinion to solve his cases. the most important part is this OTP have such an healthy relationship that they communicate when they are happy or when they are arguing about something which a lot kdrama lacks. he is not 1 dimensional at all. he's just not as intense as kang chul, dalpo or Soo Ha (or even Namsoonie)Now to the drama itself, this is really one of the serious but not that serious drama she has written. A few drama parody, Goblin, School 2013 (that revised poem still make me LOL) which a lot other drama has done too, why people is making fuss on wyws all about? it is more balance here even though some does not like the mood change from romantic to comedy. at least it is not as serious as Pinocchio(its a sob fest,really). my favorite social commentary highlighted by PHR is media manipulation. it always make me reflect back on every over sensationalized news i've read on social media and see how severe manipulation can effect one's life. i also love she focus more law ethics. the pressure of not prosecuting innocent man due to lack of evidence from public outcry or Yeo Bum defending a scum people yet felt dirty from it. i like it better when they are not focusing on courtroom battle.
all in all, i never hope for perfect drama at all. you can go watch Secret Forest or right now the new Lee Min Ki drama for the so called perfection. but this drama is giving what i want.a well executed plot, relaxing and cuteness and nice OSTs. this is the first time i like all the OSTs after Goblin Ost. i still hope for an OST from Every Single Day band tho.

well...suzy... there is someone better than her, someone with skills and i hope she can focus more on her music if she can...but Park Hye Ryun has work with her before, maybe she can accommodate her lack of skills and make her shine just like in Dream High.

Updates on Nirvana in Fire 2 28th Oct 2016
Context:
- 50 years after events of Nirvana in Fire.
- Mei Chang Su, Xiao Jing Yan and most of the people in Nirvana in Fire have already mostly passed away.
- Xiao Ting Sheng is the head of the House of Chang Lin and the story will involve his two sons and his daughter-in-law. This makes Meng Zhi a distant relative of Xiao Jing Yan through marriage since his niece is Jing Yan’s granddaughter-in-law.
- I wonder if the Emperor is the little kid who was close to and played with Xiao Ting Sheng in the final scenes of Nirvana in Fire. Highly possible given that he is the first true son of Jing Yan (Ting Sheng is adopted) and from Ms Liu, who was made the empress.
- We can assume that Empress Xun and Pu Yang Ying are relatively on the antagonistic side of things. Why do men of the Xiao family (bar Jing Yan, ex Crown Prince Jing Xuan, Ting Sheng and Ping Zhang) have evil wives lol. But one does realise that only the good men of the Xiao family have good wives, no? Is it a deliberate running theme in the story, or a mere coincidence?
- Xiao Yuan Qi is a wildcard in that he is a relative of the imperial household and has the surname Xiao, but nothing else is revealed yet.
- The publicity seems to focus on Huang Xiao Ming, Tong Li Ya and Liu Hao Ran, which probably means that the story will revolve around the House of Chang Lin. Interestingly, Ping Zhang is already married, so the story seems to be in keeping with the less-romance-focused storytelling in NiF.

sadly ratings always dictate the result of the winner and in this case dots has the rating and even tho SJK has more meatier roles before dots,, you cant deny he performed well... ratings success+good actor=WIN...
i sure hope Baeksang Awards who is quite fair awards shows in general can give some love to all people in W2W (they also cannot ignore rating success, but do give something to those one deserving)
and in another news, our bae LJS need to lose weight again..aigoo...

regarding this award show especially like korea drama awards and last time APAN, i resigned myself to accept if bae LJS is nominated but not winning anything already...their list for this year is insane...SJK dots is too strong that even a good veteran actor like JJW will lose...but it will be a different story for MBC drama awards... W2W should at least get top excellence awards and best couple awards..so cross your fingers everyone!!!

chul said she need to choose the ending....no matter the outcome it is, one of them will have sad ending ....
chul said his happy ending means oh seong mo will die ...
if oh seong moo has happy ending, kang chul live will end with tragedy...
at the end, when chul at hospital with yeon joo in real world , yeon joo already know her father's fate... her father leave her with his photo smiling as a reminder to remember him in that state...
no matter what, kang chul cannot lie to her ..thats is in his nature ...

@maryofbethany i guess, years with broken family, made her the expert in grieving all alone..
I actually saddened by her, waking up looking numb, doing makeup, it shows her so, so, so numb and she was like in total shut down and moving in auto pilot!
She drenched herself to death at that place where she last seen kang chul hoping she will be transferred back at that place in manwha, to see chul, to find her father
However, we have to admit her scene in ER was the total letdown..it feels so fake

If given a choice, the Yeonjoo i know, will Chose the save Dad, then she will allows herself to die with Chul, at least mourn herself to death, like at the bus-stop. i guess, it is just about right that people start seeing her as faithfulness and loyalty towards her dad and mom.
will talk about Chul only after i watched the Subbed eps. right now, defending Oh's rights to chose sacrificing himself. at that moments, like you all, i too felt the bittersweet ending, of Dad finally did his best to save Chul... that moment i was so proud of him, that he made his last few moment worthwhile, making every last effort counts, calling DY even to try to reach Chul at bus stop, drawing HCH committing sucide, drawing the door to be self bolt from inside. drawing the tape to cover HCH's mouth to stop him from shouting. he indeed drawn a slow-death for HCH, so well deserving. then he races against time to draw suicide note plus the USB... he drawn his own car. drawn his own sucide note to comfort KC, to bide him farewell, its definitely his own reply to Kangchul when Kangchul confessed his own acceptance of him at the hospital rooftop, his suicide note was to stop Chul from ever feeling guilty about his demise. drawing his photo, trusting that Kangchul will be alive enough to pass to Yeonjoo, and personally telling Chul he hand over the Blessing of his own daughter into Chul;s ahnd and Blessed Chul with his daughter's happiness.
Yes, no matter how many of us who once hated and despised Dad like crazy. Dad saved himself at the last moment and make us proud of him. Imagine, all the lives that were taken and sacrificed by his own lazy writing, 10 lives at the media stations, 3 minions of HCH at the warehouse, even his own daughter's almost death. ... when lives were taken, an eye for an eye, a life for life,... what is worst is him killing the Nurse at Asylum home.... like he said, its only right that he pay for his crime and be the rigth that brought about the right closure to W world. it doesn't matter how the comic ends. but it does matter how the W world continue to run after the comic ends. at least he knows he cannot continue living on without guilt in that world, because of his own guilt, and his own role of succumbing to become the Antagonist, when Yeonjoo return back to real wrold, Dad didn't.... he already knew that was the ending. Because there's no way he can bluff his conscience and continue to live amid all the praise from fans for finishing W comics on a tragic but high notes. like he say, if he managed to survive in real world, and having Chul died... there's no way he can live on without guilt. that guilt will finally ruin him.
Those fans who actually did sing praises of having a Bitter Sad Ending is better, and saying that sad ending does give impact and feels to story. Yes. Writernim Song JaeJung give both sad ending and happy ending to both Team of fans. i should say, i will remmeber Dad Oh Sungmoo with such respect that i will never think of giving him for past 15 eps, Not because Chul ws saved by him... but because he demonstrate such delicate feels for every last moments, even pat the conscious guard lying on the floor, gently placed his last farewill note in the hand of that man...
Writernim Song indeed has gifted Dad a most memorable well deserved respect ends. in this mode of passing, she allowed him to depart with all honors and saving grace. He will goes down in KDrama hsitory as a loving dad who sacrifced for his daughter against her wishes to stop him, remember she tied him up to stop him from hurting himself, as well as doing some suicidal stuff.
give Actor Kim Eui-Sung a well deserving Best Suporting Actor by this coming MBC Award. we should give credits where it is due, but refrain from damned the innocent Yeonjoo, who has never once chose Chul over dad, or dump dad even when he was faceless.

Last but not least. thank God for giving Writenim and Prodction Crew the grace and wisdom to produced a reasonable Happy Ending.cr. hoan_hao_66 (and thanks to @sakura2016 to posting this. our Chul-Joo will stay in our heart with this image forever.... that serene touch of "Happy Ending."... Both looking not just at each other, but lookin together at the same direction happily, peaceful, thankfully.

i guess people overlook her character based on her reaction everytime kangchul dissapear...She loves both of them!!!one is her faher and one is the love of her life!! without one of them, she will be miserable!! she's the one lose out in this situation!! she unable to choose to save her dad, no body to be buried too!!! no funeral process!! she will be the only one know her father's fate, others will just simply said he commit suicide from severe depression or something....never downplay her misery, because nobody will want to be in her shoes right now

As much as I was dying for tons of sweetness or even a real wedding, it doesn't really fit with what has happened throughout the episodes. Most importantly our OTP ended on a very subdued note, they cried for the dad and they just ended off in a very simple way at han river, nothing overly sweet, it's sort of like a kind of respect for the dad demise.
I never think W can end with 3 of them happily together, it just don't fit with the overall. Putting KC aside, Dad's sacrifice is actually meaningful and most importantly I think it's a relief for him. Can you imagine if he live on with the killer's memories every single day? How torturing is that for him and the family? Now putting KC in the picture, dad knows much YJ love him and KC will be there for her on his behalf. I don't see KC as a frictional character anymore because he do bleed in real life so technically he is human in a way or another.
I saw LJS wearing his ring at the han river group photo, was worried about the corpse thing. Luckily it didn't happened >.<
Thank you everyone for making W so enjoyable. I'm hoping for a second season if it is still our honey couple. Now I hope there will be some proper photos of them at the wrap up party!

im also a fan of W-two worlds
im delurking at this end of ep to tell everyone good job with recapping and giffing all the scene as well as wonderful discussion ...this drama is a brand new adventure to us and even for song jae jung writernim....im proud for her that she is able to write a new kind of thriller drama for korean audience and for that i am saying that i am able to overlook the any inconsistency that happen in the drama... in the future if there is writernim that able to adapt this webtoon came to life drama. she or he will able to close the inconsistency that song jae jung-nim brought into this drama...
for uri bae LJS, he done a wonderful job, eventho some scene he can be awkward, hahaha, i still love kangchul to pieces, his cheekiness, his smartness and his empathy toward the his creator in the last 2 episode is so memorable !!! im hoping LJS will reunite someday with kim eui sung as father-son pair, whether comedic relationship or angsty relationship, please reunite again!!!
for Han hyo joo, truthfully, she is also awkward in certain scene especially today when she in hospital with crazy dog....her sadness doesnt seem genuine...its probably me...dont be angry people!! hehehe....all in all...she is the one of the strongest female character that song jae jung has created...she may not be able to showcase her proper drawing talent in saving the people she loves, the fate is still not in her hand...its a bitter sweet that her happiness with kangchul cannot be shared with her whole family, especially her dad :/.. for han hyo joo, good luck in your next project, thank you so much for the comedic scene, the sad scene, the romantic scene that you give to us...we glad you comeback
Kim eui sung, the man who reduced production cost money, hihihi....you show us what happen when alcohol mixed together with depression..you show us what happen when you are such a poor writer, the consequences in disaster in the making that made your demise seem so bitter for yeon joo...such a great villain and such a good dad too...from you, we learn a lot of thing, even song jae jung will able to reflect her writing from your stories... great work sunbaenim!!!
for soobong and crazy dog....great comic relief even that is the only extend of your character, you guys managed to stay loveable and genuine fanboys that relflect ourselves
i know a lot are dissapointed by the ending,i myself unable to watch properly due to severe lagging today , but please wait for proper subbing and please reflect on what oh seong moo and kangchul words on the rules on manwha, one of them will die either way, and seong moo will always in disadvantage situation as he will always remember that he commit too many murders, and it will stay drive him crazy even if he survive the whole ordeal...such a poor..poor ...dad...
anyway thanks for the masterpiece and support everyone!
p./s : i think song jae jung writernim should go back to cable channei, only there option 4 will not be overwritten from her drama!-

hello everyone here. it so quiet around here. first time i saw a thread with big name and from well praised writer got so little attention from soompi forum. i guess N e t f l i x really does ruin the drama watching experience.
i just want to ask a bit but please dont think anything bad about this in case i might hurt fans the actors. what did you really think about Ye Jin Woo character in here? people kept talking about President Gu gray character. where anything he do whether its bad or good will be excuse. but i rarely see people talk about his character. do you think he's stupid and naive with drip of false sense of righteousness for charging into situation with the dead girl like from every part of kdrama forum who discuss about this drama?
i guess im too bias too lee dong wook that i feel this drama making that the some doctor looks too stupid and too naive for thinking about their patients more and need to have cunning brain to protect their patients and their livelihood and need outsider to save them from their reckless act.
i need more interaction from YJW and GSH like in secret forest because right now with 4 ep left, i dont see any substantial that can make them work together like JSW and BDN character.
if i insinuate anything with this post, im so sorry to those who are offended.
more than romance, i wish they work more on YJW and GSH bromance. the lady is strong on their own without needing the loveline since it does nothing to viewer and infuriate their disdain anyway. poor WJA who got the brunt of unnecessary hate from knetz and some international viewers.
