  4. So true @mjmartinez NY will continue to have the upper hand because of her selfishness. I am a big fan of Eunjung too and have watched most of her films and drama. I personally loved Love Twist just because of Eunjung. Love twist made no sense until the Male lead came back to Korea. He grew up and had a spine finally. Before he was a doormat. I tend to re-watch some scenes when I am in a bad mood or have nothing else to watch. I agree at the beginning it was kind of weird for me too but continued it till the end.

  12. @Anggara Sgtt saw the same information. I don`t know if she is the writer. I searched her filmography. I watched two dramas where she was a co-writer (What`s Wrong With Secretary Kim and Touch Your Heart). Just the usual rom coms but had good reviews. We`ll see if she will be the writer. This time it is a drama with multiple female leads so we don`t know if people will be interested much. I hope for a good drama but I won`t have expectation too high. I wish So yeon in another drama of writer So Hyun Kyung. She had to write The Trauma Center (one of Ju Ji Hoo`s dramas) but she is not listed to the work anymore. I wonder why and when she will have another project. I heard this drama will air in January. Either way, I wish they oficially confirm the cast and we`ll find information about So Yeon`s role. We all want a good partner for So yeon. It won`t be a popular actor but I hope they have chemistry. I even thought that they could offer the role to Sang woo. He has not appeared in a drama lately. But I am too familiar with them as a real life couple to see them in new characters. I prefer a new onscreen couple.

  20. News bites: May 6, 2024 by tccolb New stills have dropped for TVING’s upcoming I Openly Dream of Cinderella, this time showcasing our jaded prince Lee Jun-young (The Impossible Heir). Touted as an 8th (?!) generation chaebol, I had to do a double take to check if I read it correctly because this means his family comes from some super old Joseon money. But despite his distrust for both people and love, our hero’s icy heart will likely find warmth in our heroine Pyo Ye-jin (Moon in the Day), when the rom-com premieres later this month. [Sports Donga] https://www.dramabeans.com/2024/05/news-bites-may-6-2024/ Lee Jun-young is an unwilling prince charming for Pyo Ye-jin by tccolb Finally giving us a little context to our heroine’s fairy tale aspirations, it’s time for some spicy fun with Pyo Ye-jin (Moon in the Day) and Lee Jun-young (The Impossible Heir) in the first poster and teaser for TVING’s I Openly Dream of Cinderella. The rom-com’s trailer thus opens on Shin Jae-rim (Pyo Ye-jin) finding a letter from her late father – played by Ryu Seung-soo (Miraculous Brothers) – and his oh-so-wise last words cut straight to the chase: “Meet a rich husband to live a more comfortable life. In this world, you won’t be able to succeed on your own anyway.” Jae-rim is initially appalled, wondering what kind of father would brashly tell his daughter to become Cinderella. But maybe she later has a change of heart, sincerely accepting her father’s last wishes. Or, perhaps life has just become that tough and Jae-rim resigns to try her hand at marrying up. In any case, the appearing text screens reveal that we’re in for: “A greed-fulfilling Cinderella story.” In the poster we see that Jae-rim is prepared, with her soon-to-be-lost fancy slipper in hand and sneakers laced up to flee when midnight rolls in. She even has a white horse at the ready, though it’s not real. All she needs now is her shining prince charming – a.k.a. Moon Cha-min (Lee Jun-young). Although a determined Jae-rim swoons in the teaser that, “I’m going to hold tight to that person and I won’t be shaken,” the reality of her and Cha-min’s interactions are not quite the same as her fantasy. Still, it’s a fun way to revisit the classic tropes of mishaps and misunderstandings as our leads fall left and right, losing their shoes and their footing. The captions then introduce the actors in addition to writer Baek Mi-kyung as our show’s creator. The voiceover addresses the audience directly by asking, “Shall we begin the brand new Cinderella tale?” Feeling hopeful, Jae-rim wonders if her fairy godmother has finally arrived to help her. But the teaser closes as she’s snapped out of her dream by Cha-min’s simple declaration that he’s going to sue. Directed by PD Kim Min-kyung (Comedy Big League, SNL Korea) with writing by Yoo Ja, TVING’s I Openly Dream of Cinderella will be coming to our screens on May 31. https://www.dramabeans.com/2024/05/lee-jun-young-is-an-unwilling-prince-charming-for-pyo-ye-jin/

  25. The Midnight Studio: Episode 16 (Final) by mistyisles If there’s one message a show about helping ghosts move onto the afterlife is especially poised to deliver, it’s that endings and goodbyes will come, but “tomorrow” likely won’t. Still, The Midnight Studio has thus far taken a more optimistic approach in its delivery, and this final episode is no different. It may be time to say goodbye, but every ending is really just a new beginning. EPISODE 16 The episode begins with a quick flash-forward to one year after Ki-joo attempts to retrace Ki-won’s footsteps and return the Midnight Studio camera to the netherworld once and for all. In this near-future, Bom is thriving as an attorney, and only living customers enter the joint law office/photo studio hoping to get their photo taken. But Bom sadly turns them away: there’s no photographer here, because Ki-joo never came back. So what happened to him? To answer that, we jump back to ten days before the predicted black moon that will open the gate to the netherworld. When Ki-joo tells Bom his plan, she straight-up rejects it. Surely there must be another way to save her from the dead-at-35 curse! Ki-joo doesn’t disagree, per se, but they’re out of time for trying other options: the next black moon won’t occur until after her 35th birthday, so it’s now or never. Bom’s not happy about it, but Ki-joo is prepared to do this even without her blessing — and even if she threatens never to see or speak to him again — so she relents. If he insists on going, she’ll be here waiting on his return. Thankfully, Ji-won’s collapse wasn’t cancer-related; after a short hospital visit, she’s back on her feet and rushing back into work. But Sung-ho is done watching her boss, CHIEF KIM (Han Sang-jin), take advantage of her. He possesses each of Chief Kim’s family members in turn, using their mouths to voice his own grievances. Sung-ho carries the possession train on into the office, where Chief Kim starts attacking random employees, thinking they’ll be the next to channel his ghostly accuser. Finally, Sung-ho possesses Chief Kim himself and has him shout apologies to the entire workplace. Ji-won recognizes Sung-ho’s handiwork immediately, and the two relocate to a private staircase (sans Chief Kim), where Ji-won assures Sung-ho she’ll take better care of her health and work-life balance from now on. They exchange I love yous, and though it’s edited to look like Ji-won can hear him, I can’t help thinking it must actually feel as one-sided as the high-five Sung-ho failed to complete just a few minutes ago. On the day of the black moon, Ki-joo takes the camera and sets out, promising to return by sunrise. Since the camera’s absence leaves Bom extra vulnerable to nefarious spirits, Sung-ho and Ji-won help her secure the Midnight Studio and prepare to defend it — and Bom — from any attack. Despite their best efforts, however, a horde of ghosts breach the doors that night, forcing Bom, Sung-ho, and Ji-won to flee. They’re only after Bom, though, so she sends the other two off in a taxi and draws the ghosts away down an alley, where she’s quickly overpowered, hoping against hope that Ki-joo can successfully return the camera before the ghosts finish her off. Meanwhile, Ki-joo is beset by his own pack of murderous ghosts trying — and nearly succeeding — to wrest the camera away from him. The path to the netherworld forces him to jump off a cliff, scramble over boulders, traverse a long stairway, and repeatedly tumble down a steep hillside, but eventually he finds his way into the cave where the Midnight Studio camera belongs. The grim reaper who guards the cave seems both impressed that he made it this far and angry that he dared to try, and relishes the horror that breaks over Ki-joo’s face as he realizes what he should have guessed long before now: there’s no way out. Not without the camera, anyway. In other words, he can either save himself or Bom. more https://www.dramabeans.com/2024/05/the-midnight-studio-episode-16-final/
  26. The Atypical Family: Episodes 1-2 by Unit If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if Encanto and Parasite made a baby, wonder no more. The Atypical Family is the answer to your question! Who will come out tops when a family of con artists targets a family with superpowers? Let’s dive into this drama and find out. EPISODES 1-2 The first time we meet our atypical family, they’re perched atop dramaland’s favorite cliff, and that’s as good a way as any to indicate that this show/family is anything but typical. But before we go any further, let’s introduce the superpowered family — or should I say ex-superpowered family, since they’ve all lost their powers. Our hero, BOK GWI-JU (Jang Ki-yong) could time travel to happy moments from his past by recalling the memory of those moments. But after losing his wife seven years ago, he became depressed and lost his powers since he can no longer recall happy memories. His sister, BOK DONG-HEE (Soo-hyun), used to fly — a cooler superpower — but since she gained weight, she hasn’t been able to take off. As for the Bok family’s matriarch, BOK MAN-HEUM (Go Du-shim), she could see the future in her dreams — the coolest of the powers — but she’s got insomnia now, so it’s farewell to sleep and precognitive dreams. The Bok family’s excursion to the cliff is abruptly cut short when Gwi-ju ends up in the water, and who better to save him from drowning than our heroine, DO DA-HAE (Chun Woo-hee)? But if this was supposed to be a meet-cute at the beach, the only person interested in the interaction is Man-heum. Man-heum and Da-hae meet again as insomniac client and masseur respectively, and after a cup of tea and a massage, Man-heum is finally able to sleep. Our matriarch is impressed with Da-hae’s skills, and even more so when she recognizes the masseur as Gwi-ju’s savior. As a result, she invites Da-hae into the Bok mansion under the auspices of home services. Once Man-heum learns that the twice-divorced Da-hae doesn’t have a family, she’s only too happy to matchmake her with the widowed Gwi-ju — even though Gwi-ju would rather relate with alcohol than with humans. And when Man-heum dreams about Da-hae wearing the family’s ring, she’s more convinced than ever that Da-hae is the key to restoring the family’s superpowers. Family ring aside, it’s not hard to see why Man-heum arrived at this conclusion. I mean, hazy or not, it’s the first time our precognitive matriarch has had a dream in ages! But Man-heum’s non-superpowered husband, EOM SOON-GOO (Oh Man-seok) is quick to point out that her interest in Da-hae stems from the fact that the masseur has no family that’ll look for her if something were to happen to her in the Bok family. Interesting. more https://www.dramabeans.com/2024/05/the-atypical-family-episodes-1-2/
