김준성 [kim joon-seong]

added the cast of 'lobbyist'..

he will play the character 'michael' who is a mafia who runs a high-end casino.

kim is korean ethnic born in hong kong in 1975. he is fluent in korean, chinese, english, and another language i forgot what. i've seen him in the friday night drama 'that woman' and he was really funny and hot there. wasn't he in 'fashion 70s' too? he went to wake forest university in the u.s. and he made his debut through arirang tv i think as a show host and he's been acting in korea for the last 4 years.

the list of hot men in 'lobbyist' just grows.. we're all doomed..

---

we're really all doomed, I find Kim Joon-seong hot already a few years back when he hosted the Arirang TV game show, The Contenders, he was one of the reasons why I was watching the show hehehe, it's amazing that he has the manliness and the brains at the same time, hooray!

the men of Lobbyist are all fine, dashing, smart gentlemen

SBS has had a track record of shooting dramas at brillant and exotic locations but the drama itself being blah but we have to keep in mind that the writer of The Lobbyist has been very successful with many hits, he wrote Jumong and All In too so hopefully his geniousness shines through this drama too.

I love SIG!!!! Can't wait for this drama.

I've been thinking about this too, about what the actual storyline will be like. I'm praying this isn't going to be what I call a "romance in the workplace" drama where they setup the storyline around some flashy, cool occupation like doctors, fashion designers, airline workers or whatever, when it's really the same old draggy, predictable, sappy love story except it takes place in a certain work environment and the only thing that's different about these dramas is the occupation.

Even though I love White Tower, I hope they don't minimalize the "romance" in this drama as much as they did in White Tower. In that drama, I think it was called for and appropriate that they hardly focused on any kind of love stories. It would be really cool if this drama is actually realistic and explores the lobbying world and not always focus on developing love stories like most other dramas do. Thinking about all this makes me even more nervous, because like I said before, it's SBS.. big budget, big names, but they lack in storylines :sweatingbullets:

Based on the writer's work in Jumong, I do hope that he delves deep into the subject and come up with a really substantial, meaty storyline, hopefully devoid of much touted knovelas "cliches" ;) ( please, no more love triangles!)

I predeict its going to be a whole lot of brooody hot men trying to negotiate in an enclosed room... :P:P Not dissimilar to <White Tower> but the women here actually seem to have relatively powerful roles as well, so hopefully, more power to the women! Also I have faith in the cast they've assembled that they choose only the top notch scripts and so far production values look like they're excellent. ^_^

July, my July.... come fasterrrrrrr

Hmm, in case the romance aspect will be minimal -- as long as there are enough scenes with "lot of brooody hot men trying to negotiate in an enclosed room" plus, plus, plus other raw materials to fill my days ( & nights).... I think I am also very, very okay with that! :w00t:

I looked at the list of series done by SBS which used exotic locations -- IMHO, the problem for most of them is that although there would be very strong introductions/ initial episodes (usually those filmed on location) -- enough to spike the viewers interest, the momentum is not sustained in the middle episodes or in some cases would have weak endings. I wonder what is happening in the production side to make these things happen.

I live only 3 hours away from VA Tech and the news is full of images and information regarding the tragedy.

I'm concerned that the mass murders at VA Tech will impact the decision to come to the States to shoot this series. If anyone sees any information related to this, please post it.

I ache for all the families who lost loved ones and I pray especially hard for the messed up kid who did this and I pray for his family. It's truly my hope that there are no consequent threats to anyone in the Asian community, most especially the South Koreans. This should NOT be a reflection on the people or the culture - ever. One messed up kid in a horrific act of violence.

I don't think this list should become any sort of forum for that discussion, but because it may impact filming of this series I decided to post.

This was a nice and respectful thing to do Erica. And I agree completely that this should not be a reflection of the Korean people or the culture. Although I was a bit shocked to hear initially just his name this morning on the radio and thinking hmm he sounds korean...and yes he is korean and being korean myself well it was a bit of a blow. This was just a very sad incident with a kid who obviously needed help but didn't receive it. May the families find solace and comfort in this time.

I really hope that the cast and crew decide to continue with their plans within the States. Although I could imagine there being some tension with a crew coming over from South Korea to shoot a drama...when people hurting may not mean it but could lash out with spiteful words and cause further conflict. Regardless hopefully everything will turn out alright and really I just wanted to say this was a relevant thing and good point Erica.

On a lighter note...they have to come as planned...or else we'll be detained from seeing SIG's greatness and hotness even longer. :)

:w00t: This is one unbelievable cast!!! I know everyone is probably excited about Song Il Gook and I like the guy too, but I'm all about Han Jae Suk!!!!

There's something about guys who always play second fiddle or the underdog or die selflessly that have a special place in my heart  and seriously, who else but Han Jae Suk has played all those roles??

He lost a lot of weight! :o A little too much.. :sweatingbullets: but still  ^_^

I totally agree with you, jahye! I have the same feeling about HJS deep down in my heart. I really really hope his ending in this "Angel" is a good one. B)

Yes, I think HJS SHOULD gain back a bit of weight...

This will be a tough decision for them to make and I don't know if there is a right or wrong way of handling this.

BUT, if it were up to me, I would choose another location to shoot. I know they have plans to film in New York as well, so I would probably have all the U.S. filming be done in New York. The reason being, not only because they are Korean, but maybe the last thing VA needs right now is some big hoopla like a foreign crew filming on their streets and they just need time to cope and recover without any disturbances.

But like I said before, I don't think there is a right or wrong way in deciding what to do, so if they stick with their original plans, best of luck to them that they don't have any bad press or bad reactions.

good job! it is really depressing watching all these things on TV and the fact that he is Korean...anyway I hope that whatever the Angel/Lobbyist staff decision to continue shooting in NY or not, I really hope it will not have a big impact on the tragic incident, since it is not a reflection of all Asians or Koreans
