When'#Alive' was released on Netflix, it reached No. 2 on the Netflix Global Movie Chart in a day, and then rose to No. 1 on the Global Movie Chart in two days. It won the No. 1 movie chart in 35 countries around the world, including major European countries such as the United States, France, Spain, Sweden and Russia, and Australia.

In terms of drama and movie contents produced in Korea,'#ALive' is a very unusual example of being ranked #1 on Netflix in the US and European markets.

This overseas release method of'#Alive' is attracting attention as it is a new platform for overseas distribution of Korean films. This is because it is a very different approach from those that have sold the release rights of theaters abroad.

The film history of the production company'#Alive' held a global licensing negotiation with Netflix for about six months from last summer to the beginning of this year. At the same time as the movie casting announcement, he received an offer from Netflix and started negotiations.

Usually, overseas sales of Korean films are handled by the main investment distributor or overseas sales company. In that respect, it is interesting to note that'#Alive' was unusually in mind for overseas disclosure through Netflix from the production stage.

Although the exact amount has not been disclosed, it is reported that a global license agreement was signed for about a third of the production cost of'#Alive' after negotiations held for six months. It is believed that this was possible because negotiations were initiated from the beginning of production and had been negotiated for six months.

Netflix's release of'#ALive' is likely to be remembered as another path for Korean film overseas platforms. The amount is also an amount, but it was released with subtitles in 31 languages and dubbing in 5 languages. Korean films have been introduced to many countries around the world in more diverse ways.

Considering this, for films that are not genre, the existing overseas sales method seems to be more effective.

Netflix has now become one of the platforms to open Korean movies abroad. To this end, it is necessary to determine and decide how to do overseas sales platforms from the pre-production stage. '#ALive' set a good precedent.
