*** Can't wait for Disney Plus’ original series "A Shop for Killers," slated for release on January 17th.  Lee Dong Wook spoke about his role, “It was a character I hadn’t played before and that intrigued me. He will definitely spark curiosity among the viewers about what in the world he’s thinking.” He further elaborated on Jin Man’s relationship with his niece Ji An, emphasizing their special bond. “To Jin Man, Ji An is special. She’s his only remaining kin. He believes he must toughen her up, which is why he comes off as quite gruff,” he explained. Lee Dong Wook also shared his experience with the action scenes, “While my previous works often involved fantasy elements, this one has more realistic and practical action scenes, which I found both refreshing and enjoyable.” The director commented on casting Lee Dong Wook: “Although he’s different from the Jin Man from the original novel, I felt his portrayal quite refreshing. From a close-up scene during the first shoot, I was convinced we had captured the essence of Jung Jin Man perfectly.”

*** On December 22nd,  "Single in Seoul" began its run on South Korean on-demand television services.  "Single in Seoul" was only released in South Korean theaters on November 29th- I guess its quick move to on-demand services may have been to capitalize on the romantic reputation of Christmas. The movie is still available in South Korean theaters as the twelfth most popular film overall. The numbers are not that impressive but, are passable for films of this specific genre. As of yet, there are no plans for "Single in Seoul" to be released in overseas markets.

During an episode of MONSTA X‘s Hyungwon‘s web show Mr. Chae the Castaway, Lee Dong Wook mentioned that he’s spent the last five years working “relentlessly.” He spends so much time working that he rarely sleeps in his own house. @backstreetboysfan  This looks so good and full of action. Disney Plus’ A Shop For Killers is the first Korean drama in the new year I’m excited about aside from Doctor Slump. Lee Dong Wook is a gun-wielding, niece-loving tough guy in it, which already sounds interesting.
