Plot

 

"Love That Will Freeze To Death/Love is for Suckers" is a romantic comedy-drama depicting the sweet and salty reality romance of two men and women in their 30s who have no romance or flirting.

“Love is for Suckers” tells the story of a “realistic survival romance” between Goo Yeo Reum and Park Jae Hoon, who have been best friends for 20 years. The pair begins to experience romantic feelings for each other after unexpectedly meeting as a producing director (PD) and cast member of a reality dating show.

Gu Yeo-Reum (Lee Da Hee) works as a PD for TV variety shows. She has worked as a PD for the past 10 years, but she is in a crisis due to her shows being cancelled. Her next project is reality show "Kingdom of Love." She works hard to make that show a success. In her own personal life, Gu Yeo-Reum is good friends with Park Jae-Hun.They have been friends for over 20 years and they are also neighbors.

 

Park Jae-Hun (Choi Si Won) is a doctor and he works for a plastic surgery clinic. He has lost interest in his work and finding a romantic partner. To help his friend Gu Yeo-Reum, he decides to take part in her reality show "Kingdom of Love" as a regular cast member. While working together as a PD and cast member, they unexpectedly develop romantic feelings for each other.

I’m a sucker for friends to lovers trope and that’s a reason enough to get excited for new ENA drama titled Love That Will Freeze To Death. The show is also going by another name Icy Cold Romance. It’s set around the background of variety shows. Another plus is the casting of Super Junior‘s Choi Si Won, who was amazing in dramas like She Was Pretty and The King of Dramas.

Lee Da Hee (I Hear Your Voice, Search: WWW) stars as a variety show PD and Choi Si Won plays the role of a plastic surgeon. Both characters have been friends for 20 years and are also neighbors. She is working as a PD for the past 10 years and is struggling for success in work and love. He is someone who has lost interest in love and work. On January 24th, SPOTV News reported that Choi Si-won was offered the role as the main lead of the upcoming KT Seezn’s original drama Love That Will Freeze To Death.

 

Love That Will Freeze To Death is a romantic comedy that will depict the bittersweet reality of love, and the storyline is reportedly based on a real relationship.

 

Choi Si-won recently took on the role of an eccentric entertainment producer named Kang Buk-gu in Work Later, Drink Now, and was praised for his realistic acting skills. 

His stable acting skills, as well as the realistic portrayal of his characters, are key to A Love That Will Freeze To Death, which is why he was offered the role.

ENA has dropped photos from the first script reading of their upcoming Wednesday-Thursday drama!

“Icy Cold Romance” (literal title) tells the story of a “realistic survival romance” between Goo Yeo Reum and Park Jae Hoon, who have been best friends for 20 years. The pair begins to experience romantic feelings for each other after unexpectedly meeting as a producing director (PD) and cast member of a reality dating show. The drama will be written by scriptwriter Kim Sol Ji of “Heading to the Ground,” “Syndrome,” and “Pegasus Market” and helmed by PD Choi Gyu Shik of “Rude Miss Young Ae,” “Let’s Eat” Seasons 2 and 3, “Drinking Solo,” and “Hush.”

The first script reading photos capture the extraordinary passion and chemistry of the cast, which includes Lee Da Hee, Super Junior’s Choi Siwon, Jo Soo Hyang, Park Yeon Woo, Im Ha Ryong, Yang Hee Kyung, Min Jin Woong, Noh Susanna, and AB6IX’s Lee Daehwi.

Lee Da Hee stars as Goo Yeo Reum, who has been a variety show PD for the past 10 years and is desperate for both work and love. While reading the script, Lee Da Hee poured sincerity into each of her lines and led the atmosphere well with her emotional acting. Starring opposite Lee Da Hee is Choi Siwon, who portrays Park Jae Hoon. John Jang has a smart and free-spirited personality and knows exactly how to tease others.

Im Ha Ryong and Yang Hee Kyung play Goo Yeo Reum’s supportive and reliable parents Goo Yong Shik and Yoon Young Hee. These veteran actors needed no introduction and allowed everyone to feel the depth of their acting, proving their ability to become the sturdy core of the drama.

Super Junior’s Siwon and actress Lee Da-hee are set to star as the leads of ENA’s upcoming romance K-drama, Icy Cold Romance (literal title).

Icy Cold Romance follows two close friends who start to develop feelings for each other after an unexpected meeting on the set of a reality dating show. According to South Korean media outlet TenAsia, Siwon will be playing Park Jae-hoon, a plastic surgeon who signs up to star in the reality show Kingdom of Love as a favour to his best friend.

Lee (Search: WWW), meanwhile, is set to play Goo Yeo-reum, a producing director who obsesses over Kingdom of Love after repeatedly helming programs that have been discontinued

 

Icy Cold Romance will be helmed by Choi Kyu-shik, best known for his work with Rude Miss Young Ae and the second and third seasons of Let’s Eat. The script will be penned by Kim Sol-ji, best known for her work with Heading to the Ground and Pegasus.

The series is set to premiere sometime in October, and an exact release date is expected to be released in the coming weeks.

In other news, Squid Game star Lee Jung-jae is set to star as one of the leads in Disney+’s upcoming Star Wars series, The Acolyte. The series marks the South Korean actor’s first leading role in a television series since starring in Squid Game.

 

While specifics about Lee’s role in the series have yet to be released, it has been confirmed that he will be starring alongside Amandla Stenberg (The Hate U Give), who was announced as the female lead for The Acolyte earlier this year.

ENA recently released the first teaser for “Icy Cold Romance” that captures the realistic and funny friendship between Goo Yeo Reum and Park Jae Hoon. The clip starts with Goo Yeo Reum getting comfy in bed after a long day of work. When she gets a call from someone asking to meet up, she shoots out of bed and quickly gets to deciding a new outfit. While getting ready, she phones her best friend Park Jae Hoon and excitedly shares, “He suddenly said he’s coming to meet me outside my house! I think he’s probably going to ask me to start dating as of today.”

Looking gloomy and annoyed, Park Jae Hoon responds, “You’re overreacting all by yourself…” Unbothered by his response, Goo Yeo Reum continues, “Should I just overtake him first?” Park Jae Hoon tells her, “You’ve finally gone crazy. Even if you overtake him, he is not going to sleep with you. I bet 2 million won [approximately $1,430].” Fed up now, Goo Yeo Reum quietly comments, “I should really just kill him…”

At the end, Park Jae Hoon spots Goo Yeo Reum outside, covered in mud. Instead of going over to help, he calls out her name and starts to mock her with a dance.

ENA also dropped a new retro teaser poster that shows old televisions featuring Goo Yeo Reum eating snacks and Park Jae Hoon drinking beer. The third TV beside them only shows color bars, hinting at a mysterious figure coming in to interrupt their long-standing relationship.

ENA’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama “Love is for Suckers” has released a new teaser!

“Love is for Suck

ers” tells the story of a “realistic survival romance” between Goo Yeo Reum (Lee Da Hee) and Park Jae Hoon (Super Junior’s Choi Siwon), who have been best friends for 20 years. The pair begins to experience romantic feelings for each other after unexpectedly meeting as a producing director (PD) and cast member of a reality dating show.

Interestingly, the teaser takes the format of an interview on a documentary show so that Goo Yeo Reum’s and Park Jae Hoon’s true feelings can be heard. The interview featuring Goo Yeo Reum and Park Jae Hoon kicks off with each describing one another as a close friend from high school, followed by clips that show their longtime friendship.

Goo Yeo Reum calls Park Jae Hoon and says, “John Jang (Park Yeon Woo) just asked me to meet him shortly. I think he’s going to ask me out today!” making a great fuss. In the following clip, she is wearing a seductive dress on her date which makes her look completely different from her usual self in comfortable clothing while ordering chicken feet from her bed. When Park Jae Hoon sees Goo Yeo Reum going into her house with a man late at night, he puts on loud music and dances in order to disrupt them from his house that’s above hers. Viewers are curious to find out what their friendship will grow into.

Later, an unexpected story unfolds as Park Jae Hoon appears on a reality show that Goo Yeo Reum is in charge of. The moment Park Jae Hoon appears on set wearing a suit, he receives praise and attention from the cast and staff for his handsome appearance. The teaser captures Goo Yeo Reum’s gaze at Park Jae Hoon, who is thought to be in her “friend zone” which seems to be gradually disappearing.

Choi Siwon portrays Park Jae Hoon, a plastic surgeon who is considered unemployed because of his irregular pay. He has lost interest in both work and love and is only interested in casual dating. Lee Joo Yeon plays golden girl Han Ji Yeon, a university professor with a pretty face and great connections. After meeting on a bad blind date, they unexpectedly reunite as cast members on Goo Yeo Reum’s dating reality show “Kingdom of Love.”

“Love is for Suckers” has released new stills of Choi Siwon and Lee Joo Yeon meeting for the first time after their first blind date. As they both try to get a proper read on their date, they focus closely on every single one of each other’s actions. ENA’s upcoming drama “Love is for Suckers” has shared a sneak peek of the chemistry between Lee Da Hee and Park Yeon Woo!

 

“Love is for Suckers” is a romantic comedy starring Lee Da Hee and Super Junior‘s Choi Siwon as two best friends who have known each other for 20 years. When they meet as the producing director (PD) and a cast member of a reality dating show, they unexpectedly begin to develop romantic feelings for one another.

 

Lee Da Hee will star in the drama as Goo Yeo Reum, a variety show PD in the 10th year of her career. Despite her hard work, all the programs she gets involved with wind up being unsuccessful.

 

Park Yeon Woo will play the role of John Jang, a handsome celebrity chef who is currently appearing on Goo Yeo Reum’s show “Ramyun Chef.” Although they are working together as director and cast member, the two have been secretly meeting off set and getting to know each other personally.

 

In newly released stills from the upcoming drama, John Jang shows up at Goo Yeo Reum’s house late at night in a flashy red sports car. Goo Yeo Reum, who looks elated to see him, is all dressed up in a form-fitting white dress—a fit that is way more glamorous than anything she’d ever wear at the broadcast station.

 

As romantic tension builds between the duo, it remains to be seen whether this ongoing flirtation will blossom into a full-fledged romance.
