“Above the River” is based on environmental protection judicial cases of the Yangtze River Basin. It tells the story of Luo Yuan, an environmental resources judge, Xia Weidong, an environmental specialist and court advisor, and others, in a series of environmental protection cases cracking down on pollution-related crimes and eradicating the laws abetting these activities. The drama will explore the balance of maintaining the environmental ecology and judicial reforms, while still protecting public rights and interests.

Yay! Modern series for Vengo Gao.

Not that I'm complaining about his ancient/ costume dramas but it's been a while since he was in a modern series.

Wonder when The Outsider airs? Love and Sword, his recently finished filming drama, has a modern arc it seems. Vengo had his military drama Operation Special Warfare aired earlier this year and it did quite well ratings-wise that there are plans for season 2. My dad and bros enjoyed seeing it, LOL, even if the subs were quite bad in the later episodes.

If I'm not mistaken The Outsider released a trailer/video around 2 months ago, and it has been quite ever since. 

 

I personally think he looks great both in modern environment and ancient garb . Looking forward to his new dramas).
